I came to Tender Gifts as a surrogate when the intended Mom and I grew concerned about her not being able to attend my appointments and possibly the birth due to COVID. We were blessed to find that Tender Gifts had just opened their birthing center and were excited to check it out. The care I received went far beyond the care I had received during my previous pregnancies. You become part of a family that welcomes you in with open arms. They not only made me feel welcome and cared for but they did this as well for the intended family. The labor and birth experience was amazing and I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful it was. I had no stress, no pressure and I was allowed to have everyone I wanted and needed right there with me. The Mom even had the opportunity to catch her daughter as she came into the world. She sat beside me in bed as they checked me and baby. They made the birth so special. I cannot express enough the gratitude I have for the angels that make this place so amazing.

Tender Gifts Midwifery is amazing! I was unhappy with my prenatal care at another provider and switched halfway through my pregnancy. From the first moment I toured the center, the attention to detail and the kindness and care of each midwife was evident. The birth center is beautiful and the birthing rooms and prenatal appointment rooms were cozy, comfy and stunning! My birth experience was beyond my wildest dreams and I felt so supported. Althea and her team are amazing, every single one of them are wonderful! Im so grateful this community now has the choice of top notch midwife care at home or in the beautiful birth center.

I switched to Tender Gifts early in my pregnancy due to a very poor experience at one of the larger providers in Fort Collins and I am so so very glad that I did. I reached out to Althea about an HBAC after I was nervous about the hospitals response to COVID. I was immediately impressed and thankful for her honesty about what is needed and what isnt. It was extremely refreshing to actually receive evidence-based care. Also, the experience of birthing at home was amazing! My husband and I both loved how much more relaxed and well-taken care of we were as a family. This experience in comparison to my two other births is not even in the same category and Im so happy that I was able to have such a wonderful birth experience for our last baby.I would strongly recommend this team to anyone who wants to have a natural birth at home or at the new birth center. The prenatal and postnatal care is amazing and the birthing process is so much better with these awesome women. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

I just birthed my second child at home. Althea and her team are very caring and knowledgeable. They made the experience so much better than the hospital birth of my first child. I highly recommend Tendergifts midwifery!

The birth was amazing and I dont think we would have had the same opportunities with a less dedicated team. Every time any slight hiccup came up the team had options and contingencies. I feel without their diligence we would have ended under the blade, something we preferred to avoid.

The care I received from Althea (and Aubrey, too) was exceptional. Althea is so supportive, she listens to your wants and needs, and she knows what she is doing. My husband and I both felt beyond comfortable and cared for working with her and our experience was phenomenal. We both would (and do) recommend her time and time again. She is one amazing midwife and we are so thankful for her!!

I have been an RN for 11 years, and in the medical field for 18. I had the opportunity to attend a birth with Althea, and want anyone considering a home birth to seriously consider her services. She is professional and kind, cool under pressure, and easy to love.I have only had hospital births, but if I was going to have a home birth I would absolutely trust Althea with my care. She is experienced, smart and knowledgeable. She understands what can be handled at home, and is an incredible advocate for your safety if any emergency situation occurs.

My husband and I would give these ladies 10 stars out of 5 if we could! Was an absolutely wonderful experience. I had my third pregnancy with Tender Gifts and received care that was above and beyond. Althea and Aubrey are so informed and genuinely care about mom and baby. My only regret is that I didnt have my other two children with these ladies! Highly recommend to anyone!

As a husband and first-timer to the home birth scene, I was nervous about how things might go. Any reservations were immediately alleviated after starting to visit Althea and Audrey. Althea & Aubrey were AMAZING! I transferred to their care halfway through my second pregnancy because my husband and I wanted a home birth. I appreciated their calmness and expertise - and we needed it. During labor, my babys heart rate was low and at one point, EMTs came because it looked like Id have to be transferred to the hospital. But these two amazing women used all their skills and experience to stabilize the situation and I was able to give birth at home, like we had planned. I was so grateful!! Our baby was born happy and healthy and thriving. Althea & Aubreys hard work meant I didnt have to transfer to the hospital and could have our beautiful baby at home. Im still so thankful for them and HIGHLY recommend them!!

Althea is awesome at what she does! Although she was unable to make it to our birth(Baby came too fast 😉) she helped my wife and I a lot with understanding prenatal information, what to expect during the birth and how to keep our baby nice and healthy after the birth! She was very good at follow up and always available when we had questions. Her number one priority was the safety And well being of mom and baby! Words cannot express how thankful my wife and I are to have found Althea and Aubrey with Tender Gifts Midwifery. They were truly an answer to prayer for us. We tried to get pregnant for 6 years and when we finally were blessed with the miracle of this conception, we prayed long and hard for God to bring us an incredible team of providers to help guide us through the pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. They were so loving and kind throughout and their knowledge and experience helped us to feel safe and well cared for every step of the way. We had the most beautiful birth of our baby girl at home and they have continued to be there for us and our growing little family in the days and weeks after.

I cannot speak more highly of Althea. As a doula Ive worked with many care providers in the Northern Colorado area. However, I have now had the privilege of both working with Althea and having her attend my own birth and I can say she will be the first person we call should we decide to have anymore tiny humans. She respects the power within women, empowers them through the tough spots, and maintains a safe and calm atmosphere. Everyone should have the opportunity to love their birth and this one was by far my favorite.

I am a mom of 5 so one thing I know about is the experience of birthing babies. My first four I had in a hospital setting. Anxiety and fear were a major component of each of these births for myself and my husband. I gave in to needless medical interventions with each as I was terrified of the outcome for my babies if I did not. Thankfully each of my babies were totally healthy but the recovery process for myself was long and hard with all 4 of them.So when I became pregnant with number 5 I decided I didnt want another fear laden pregnancy and birth. On recommendations of my sister in law I met with Althea to explore the idea of home birth and see what my options truly were. From the first meeting with Althea and her student/assistant Aubrey I knew in my heart it was the right path for me. Throughout my pregnancy I was impressed with their knowledge and care. Not only did they put all of my anxieties to rest but they were by my side every step of the way.But the best part of the entire experience was the birth! My labor was actually rather long for being number 5 but at no point did I fear the experience at all. Althea and Aubrey were with us through it all. We were at home where we were comfortable. We were able to do a water birth like I had desired. There were no unneeded interventions. And there was no anxiety!! It was the birth that I had always desired and had never came close to acheiving and I owe it all to this amazing midwife!I also feel it necessary to mention how much easier and faster my recovery was after this birth. I never knew you could feel so good after giving birth! I am now 6 weeks post partum and Im so thankful for the total experience (prenatal, birth, and postnatal) that I had with Althea. I highly recommend this birth experience to every mama out there! Althea is a gifted, wonderful person and I feel privileged to have been cared for by her.

I have had 2 hospital births, and I chose to have my 3rd birth with Althea at home. It has been such a breath of fresh air the entire process. From easily being able to schedule a consult when I wanted to know more to the vast amount of knowledge, and guidance she provides to you as she supports you in your pregnancy/post partum journey as well as your home-birth experience. We felt at ease in her presence and confident in trusting her and her assisting mid-wife Aubrey in such a beautiful moment in life. And that remained our opinion through our entire birth. I cant even begin to describe how much less stressful it was on myself and our new baby as well (coming from a mom of 4). We couldnt be more greatful and thankful for Tender Gifts Midwifery.
