Pool update again, not to worry they will kick out everyone in the pool, all 10+ people to give all the lanes for 5 people to do physical therapy. Its on the schedule but PT doesnt require all the lanes for 5 people. Trash rules are 3 per lane. The pool is only usable half the time. Either the heater isnt working and its to cold or the temp is just right. Also, in the morning for PT they put 3 people in one lane. Thats alright if youre swimming with people of your ability. But being stuck in a lane with soldiers who can barely swim completely ruins a 2 mile workout with people who can barely tread water. 2 people per lane is enough, 3 is crowded and makes the workout useless.

Good place if your trying to wait for equipment since everyone and their mother is waiting to use it. Machines are the last thing on your mind , you have to walk through a sea of dumbbells to even attempt to use anything in the main area, people should be held accountable like Hillary Clinton emails when they derack the weights in there and not put them back, but when people do abide by the rules ,thr gym is actually very nice. The track upstairs helps with conditioning and the other rooms like boxing, cycling ,and TRX rooms adds a comfortable workout environment to sham from your chain of command. Or if your a civilian or a veteran, the gym is your home, have at it. Has all you need to get yoked

It is okay. The equipment works. The pool is nice. They post incorrect hours online and relay the sane false information over the phone. I came in on a Saturday at 6:50 PM and they would not let me work out even for a short period of time. The doors were locked and when another patron let me in, I was denied access at the desk. The following day I, called ahead of time to ensure that i could work out until 8:00 PM. The employees, again, turned me away at the door.TL;DR... Hours are wrong. Staff could not care any less.

Review №24

Only thing good at this gym is the rock climbing wall. Other than that it is always packed because of the lack in machines and free weight area there is barely any racks to do bench squat deadlift. I highly recommend other gyms on post if you wish to have a strong variety in exercises you want to do. I also wouldn’t rate it any higher due to the fact every time I call I get no answer. I called and got no answer so I showed up to a fully packed gym with no advisor for rock climbing wall. Kids pool is amazing lifeguards are friendly and attentive.

The gym in and of itself is fine. However their reaction and handling of covid-19 has been subpar at best. Particularly the cardio equipment. You have to wear a mask while using cardio equipment. Im uncertain if people are aware of what breathing carbon dioxide does to your body... Or what restricting air intake with a high heart rate will do. The managers and people operating that facility obviously dontIn addition to that they already removed 75% of the machines upstairs and space them out 12 feet apart from each other. Its a joke at best and shows a lack of understanding and knowledge

Im not giving the gym a 1 star, Im giving whoever made the decision to reopen the gym after the shutdown and have it open only to active duty a 1 star, Im retired and I wonder if fort Carson knows how many retired vets work on post and were mission essential personnel during the shutdown and still showed up to work to keep fort carson up and running during the shutdown. Set aside a time during the day for retired vets to utilize the gym, you guys are acting like the VA, please fix this immediately

Iron Horse Physical Fitness is very well maintained. It has and indoor swimming pool that is free for active duty members. All other have to pay for the use. It does have a kids section with a fountain, it has two tiers of jumping boards, an designated laps runs. The equipment is very modern, they have free style and cable weights. A wall for climbing, indoor basketball ball, small indoor track, several designated rooms for different specific exercises, classes for a small fee. Racquetball, hot tub, sauna room (not coed). Bottom line, you should take 30 minutes of your time to go and get a feel for yourself, see if you feel comfortable there. Best part is that there is not a grunt alarm!

Review №32

Weight area is usually crowded due to confined space. If they had a larger free weight area, Id give it 5 stars. I pretty much can only ever use machines because every free weight device is occupied, and I only go when its not very busy. They have several huge rooms upstairs for aerobics which are never full. They could easily change one into a free weight area and It would improve the place 100%.

I love the pool here. It was 90 some degrees out and we wanted to go swim however we had a bunch of little humans with us. The out door pool on pist was ok but any part of you out of the water froze just cause of the wind because of this we checked out the indoor pool so glad we did. The indoor pool was much bigger had life jackets you could use for the little humans if you didnt have one. Plus the kids loved the slides and my husband loved the high dive.

Don’t ever bother calling. They are adequately staffed but on 3 separate occasions I’ve called with no success. One time I called with questions and no answer, by the 3rd time I called, someone picked up, and left the phone off the hook and I could hear his entire conversation with 2 other workers. It’s really frustrating and unprofessional. For such a gym with high investments, they need to invest in employees who know how to do there job, especially if all they do is sit at the front desk.

Not the best kept, but certainly not the worst. However, I cant get over the camera in the locker room. They say its only for viewing the hot tub. However, its a pan-tilt-zoom camera, so it can look wherever the operator wants. If I can see it from the shower, it can see me.

Clean and has plenty of equipment. But I, along with many others wish that there was a child care, for the many families here who do not have family or trustworthy friends. You would think a gym on a military base would be willing to accommodate for the spouses who stay home with their kids.

Im giving this low rating based on the quality of the weight room. Typical Army Rec Center. Crowded and weights never organized. Only real annoying thing is the patrons. Too many wannabe bodybuilders/power-lifters who has no sense of courtesy and like to use up equipment when they dont need it. For example, using benches as tables.

We go to this gym to let the toddlers swim in the walk in kiddie pool. We love it most times, but the last two times we had to pay $3 per spouse just to go in and make sure our children don’t drown (it’s not like we adults can swim in 3ft), and it was so cold our children were shaking so we had to leave and wasted $3, which isn’t a lot, but for what you’re doing and getting, this should be free to soldiers spouses and their kids. And warm the dang pool please if you’re going to charge us!!

The swimming facility is dated but theres plenty of water and it sure felt good!Walking out is when I noticed the gym part of the facility and I was amazed at the first class opportunities for a workout -- wall climbing, racquetball, treadmills, weights, etc.The Service men, women, and families deserve nothing less!

Its a really nice gym with an indoor track on the second floor and a sauna in the changing rooms. It is very crowded and really clean. The workers are nice and polite. But I felt a little out of place because its mainly filled with people who are already in shape and fit, so since I am not, I just felt like some people were staring. So if you are over weight and a little insecure about it then this gym is not for you.

This is an amazing gym, I would recommend it to anyone! The basic equipment is all there, some are unique. And sometimes you just have to look around a bit, there will be something for your personal workout.Minor problem:This place is amazing, love everything about it EXCEPT the the weight room, don’t get me wrong, I love it, but it just seems too small. The gym itself is ~2.5x larger than the weight room, and there is a bunch of areas that are rarely used, and people seems to be having a bit of a problem getting around. This is just a personal opinion but I would love a bigger space with more equipment (which I doubt will happen, not going to lie).

Awesome gym! Staff is friendly and courteous. Came here last year to get a membership and I was delighted to find out that it was free! Signed up on the spot, but I neglected to read the fine print. Now I have people waking me up at 0500 for mandatory CrossFit sessions along with various other aerobic activities. Lots of yelling and running around, but its really a great weight loss program. They actually pay me! Not sure if they caught on to their error yet or not. Apparently Im getting ready to deploy which, to my best understanding means they will be sending me on a nine month paid vacation to go overseas to another fitness center and continue physical training. Well, I better get back to work. Im on a water break in the middle of some intense Up, Down, Gos and motivational yelling after asking my platoon sergeant if he had any chem light batteries or pricky-7s.

Nice indoor pool. Only complaint is the blonde lady at the front desk wouldnt let me take my son who is 6 years old with me through the womens locker room to get to the pool. Said he needed a chaperone. He is tall so I get maybe she thought he was older but when I told her how old he was she said No because women are full on nude in the locker rooms and have complained.Well if you are walking around in the locker rooms naked then you shouldnt care who is looking at you especially a little kid. Put some clothes on or go to the large bathroom stall. Get over yourself. He is a little kid that is not even aware of whatever it is you are worried about. There are sick ppl in the world. He could get kidnapped, molested, raped all kinds of things. Just because we are in base doesnt mean that cant happen. No one ever showed up to walk him through by the way. I was thankful another friend was bringing her 12 year old son so he would have someone to go with him.If you have a problem with kids going into locker rooms with their parents fix the family rooms in the hallway that has been under construction for like 4 years already. The end.
