The doctors/staff at FloMo site are great. But the inability to call directly to them locally is obnoxious and time-consuming. The USMD general answering service is utterly inept. It took 5 phone calls providing careful instructions to answering service, plus two calls with on-site nurse and 2 emails to get prescriptions done properly wasting time, money and causing stress. I like my doctor so Ill stick with it a while, but they need to get their administrative general team up to speed.

Ive been going to USMD Flower Mound for a number of years, now, first having Dr. Lowell Phipps as my primary care physician, and now Dr. Megan Gillem. Both she and her Nurse Practitioner Kelly Bennett are outstanding. Each possess a wonderful command of medical knowledge, and just as important to me, they are friendly, engaging, and take the necessary time to discuss any concerns I might have. Ive never felt rushed in speaking with them. I know that especially now, in the middle of this interminable pandemic, the number of patients they meet with on a daily basis is extraordinarily high. Yet, I dont feel as if theres a long line waiting behind me. Meetings in person, or via telemedicine, are always relaxed.As far as coordinating my care is concerned, they see the big picture. I have a number of medical challenges, and their approach to caring for me is a conservative one. Dr. Gillem and NP Bennett consider all the options available, and will try them before pulling out the prescription pad. I feel strongly that too many physicians jump right to prescribing drugs to treat a problem, and this approach is very much appreciated. Addressing an issue this way might necessitate multiple visits, but its clear that they are looking to find the right answer.I never have an issue calling in to the office to get an appointment, and if I need to get a message to them, I get a return call quickly. My prescription refill requests are always handled in a timely manner.I give my highest recommendation for USMD FM, Dr. Gillem and NP Bennett.

This place is very disorganized and mismanaged. The first time I made an appointment I was given a fax number to send records to by the person that made the appt. When I arrived for appt the 2 ladies at front said they had never even heard of that fax number and do not get faxes. Many phone calls and messages get unreturned to nurses and they promise to folllow up and then you never hear from them. As a final resort I called and addresed in detail with the manager, whom swore she would look into everything and promise to get back to me. Never heard from her ever againas promised and even a follow up return message I made went unresponded too. It is too bad the lack of management and competency reflects poorly on this clinic otherwise it would not be so bad.

I think its time to find a new doctor!!! Didnt provide correct care, which put me in the ER. I called the day after to get checked out. I never received a call back. I called this morning at 8:30 am, said they would call back. Didnt hear anything so I called back at 1:30. When I called they said they never showed I called and never had a message. They said they would escalate my message. It is now 5:30 and I never received a call and now they are closed!I cant even get a hold of Dr. Gillem the last few times Ive been there and get another Dr. It is clear that I cant trust my health needs to them.

My 5 stars are mainly for Dr. Gillem. Havent really had any problems with the staff like some of the other patients have said in their reviews but my teenage daughter and I both see Dr. Gillem and have absolutely no complaints. She has a great bedside manner, is very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I definitely recommend her as a great option for a PCP!

My family and I have been with them for over 15 years and we finally had enough. It seems in the last few years, their administrate support has gone down hill. First my wife was told she needed her gull bladder removed so they ran blood test. 3 months went by and we still couldn’t get them. I finally had to make an appointment to speak directly to the doctor. The office manger never returned my calls. Then prescriptions were taking longer and longer to get, up to several weeks. Again, I complained and the office manager never returned my calls. I was miss diagnosed when I complained about chest pains and was told to schedule an ultrasound that would take two weeks to get done. Two days later I was in the emergency room with fluid built up around my heart! We finally decided to switch to a different office. My wife and I just felt it was too much effort to do effort to business with them. It’s a shame if they just have a better office manager that cared about their patients, we might stay.

I went in for a check up with Dr.Gillem and was told at the time when I checked in that they tried to call me at 8:24am that she was not in today and my appointment was cancelled. I had not received a call. She was extremely rude, asked if I wanted to see someone else, and was annoyed when I said no. She asked her other coworkers behind the desk if anyone called me and no one answered. Their customer service is awful and I would not be going here anymore if it wasn’t for Dr.Gillem. Not once did the lady at the front desk apologize to me for having to take off work for this appointment and only “calling” me once. If they emailed me or even left a voicemail I wouldn’t be as upset. It’s the fact that they didn’t even try and get annoyed at you for having to reschedule. I hope Dr. Gillem decides to move someplace else because USMD front desk is awful.

I went in for a COVID-19 antibody test. Prior to my visit, I spoke with them to ensure they submit the claim using the COVID-19 antibody test codes provided by BCBS, and they did confirm they are going to.A few weeks later, I found out that they submitted the claim using a different code than I gave them, which BCBS did not cover.I called their billing department and asked them to fix the bill by re-submitting the claim with the correct COVID-19 antibody test codes. They were unwilling to help me with this matter, and turned down my request. They said that the receptionist had never communicated the BCBS codes to the billing department/nurses, so they did not know about these specific codes to use.Not only was I just disappointed at their poor communications, but also I feel its very unfair that they make their patient be responsible for their miscommunication. This is a very unprofessional service, and I will never return to such place.The medical providers are good, but stay away from this place if you dont want billing issues.

Call service is terrible, can put you on hold for hours. The process to refill prescriptions is ridiculous. If you get your prescription within 4 days of calling, consider yourself lucky. They dont seem like they care about keeping patients, lazy work all around.

Was never able to meet the doctor even though attempted twice. I specifically asked to meet the doctor for the first appointment in order to establish a relationship. The first time I got a call the day before, informing me that my appointment was switched to nurse practitioner. Nurse practitioners are wonderful professionals, but I wanted to meet the doctor at the practice the first time I am there. I made a second appointment and asked to meet the doctor, and was assured that the appointment is with Dr. Gillem. However when I arrived at the office, I was informed that I will be meeting a nurse practitioner instead of the doctor that day. (I also attempted to call and confirm the day before that I will be meeting the doctor, however their phone system was down.) This may very well be a good doctor once youll see her - we didnt get to find out. Scheduling turned out to be very inconsiderate of my familys time and took approximately a month and a half for this entire attempt/fail process. We are going elsewhere and starting our search all over again.

She answered my questions thoughtfully and gave me peace of mind to some of my concerns. She also recommended an OBGYN (the same one she goes to in fact) for their knowledge and expertise that I need for my specific health conditions. I also had blood work done and had no issues with the phlebotomist or receiving my test results within a reasonable time frame. I even added a last minute test to be done while I saw her in the hall heading to her next appointment and she didnt forget to add it on. I havent had to interact with the issues the other reviewers have mentioned, but will update my review if I have a similar experience.

The Dr Im sure is fine, but the clinic is run by an unprofessional and unknowledgeable staff. We waited 1 week for an insurance referral, the only reason we even went to an appt. I had to take off work to stand in front of them before it was done. The office manager, Lisa Herman is rude and should not be leading an office. I apologize for losing my cool, but I have never been treated so rudely. She put her hand in face and told me to stop talking. As a professional, she needs to be able to stay calm and try and calm the situation. She was incapable of that and her tone and rudeness escalated the issue. The scheduling dept is a call center... Messages are not given to the office or they are ignored. The doctors need to do something about their office, or they wont have one much longer.

I never take the time to do reviews but this is important that you all are aware of this Medical service they do not give. If your expectations are to receive your prescriptions on time and tests results be given on time. Then this place isn’t the place for anyone!!!. The call center is a joke with staff members who don’t care if you’re in pain.. and been waiting for a week to find out test results or if you need a prescription renewal that also takes a week from what the M.A. said to me. Wow! What service they provide. Unprofessional.

Dr. Gillem and her staff should all have their licenses suspended. They definitely live by the term Practice medicine. They are so bad I dont know where to start. First, they discussed confidential patient information with me, about my child, in their waiting room with other patients around (HIPAA?!), next, they missed a life threatening condition my child had that could have been diagnosed months earlier had they run the proper tests during a routine physical, and these tests are part of a normal physical by all other Dr. standards ! In fact they missed this twice, and we ended up in the ER where the hospital Dr, and surgeon questioned why these tests were never run by Dr. Gillem. Stay away at all costs, your life may depend on it!

Phone system will hang up on you and leave you on hold for over an hour. They have also lost my shot records, while changing systems... This place is the most disorganized, and time consuming doctors office I have ever been affiliated with. And unfortunateley for a long time. If you can avoid it, go else where.
