I love that the adoptions are free here the only thing I had to do in order to get my sweet and lovable Bailey I fell in love with her instantly if she is a full-grown pug and she was around two years old she had already been returned by two different families that could not handle her Pug energy and they missed took her for an aggressive hard to handle dog that wasn’t good to have around children. But it was fate because a pug is one of the one breeds of dog I have always wanted. I brought her home for no adoption fees unlike any other shelter or adoptive agency that exists and the only thing I had to do was promised to get her fixed and then bring back the papers to prove it she has been my ankle shadow ever since I am pretty sure in The six years I’ve had her I probably only go to the restroom by myself maybe twice a year but it’s OK because she turned out to be a wonderful dog a loyal dog and she absolutely loved my children growing up and not only does she also is good was my God baby as well all she needed was that one family to love her and give her a chance once I brought her home I would’ve never ever returned her thank you for sending a shelter for your services to try to rehome animals that have lost their way or been abandoned Without you guys I would’ve never had my Baby girl.

This department is outstanding. They listen, take action and do a fine job. We had an issue with a baby animal,wild, and they responded immediately on a Sunday and solved the issue. Outstanding!

Wish I could give them - stars. This is the worst health department I’ve ever encountered. They came to my home on a complaint of a neighbor that just moved in my neighborhood. I’ve lived at my home for 5 years, know all my other neighbors and never had this happen. Well the workers for the Florissant health department trespassed on my property, entered a closed privacy fence and took my animals from my yard. When I arrived to confront the worker they lied about an event that was all recorded on security cameras. When is it ok to violate someone’s privacy and remove their property? I have a lawyer and I’m going to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law for this invasion. It’s horrible not to feel safe in your own home!

This department is a waste of time for those striving to seek community support. The inspector, supervisor, and director seem too busy to respond to phone messages ... no matter the level of patience and kindness shown by a 55+ year resident of the community. The end result is a consistent lack of communication and time wasted for those seeking assistance. Why are we paying these people? Clearly, changes are desperately needed for this community!
