I used Walkup many times when I managed the Swamp Fox movie theatre. Every employee was polite, and professional. They were always on time and quick to respond to a service call. They are very reliable and do good work.

This is my second time using Walkup Electrical Construction and I am totally pleased with the service that was provided. This company is extremely responsive, professional, and efficient once they arrive to do the job at hand. Sawyer and Justin were the technicians that helped with the repairs at my home and they were both excellent from start to finish. They took the time to explain what they were doing and answered all my questions thoroughly. I highly recommend this company.

My problem (and the reason for my 3 star review) is not with the technicians that Walkup sent out. They were very professional and the work that they did was good. My problem is the price. When I originally had someone come out to give me a quote, they told me About $150. Which is perfectly acceptable. When I finally got an invoice from Walkup Electric, the price was nearly $600. No one told me that the price was going up by nearly quadruple and that is a very bad business practice. Would I personally use Walkup again? Probably not, but if you are aware that the price is subject to major changes without your knowledge before you hire them for the work you need, then the work they do is decent.

When I first contacted Walkup Electric the girl I talked with said they charged $135 an hour and that it would probably take 2 and a half to 3 hours to do what I needed done. They sent 2 guys out and they were there a little over an hour when they got an emergency call and had to leave. Two hours later two different techs came out and the first thing he did was tell me that the first tech had told him the wrong breaker so they had to go get the right one.Over two hours later he returned and was there maybe 30 minutes. When PeeDee Electric put power to the power pole I still had no power. So I asked them to send someone to check the power pole out because it had burned out a $50 Surge protector and had popped and smoked where it was plugged in. The service charge was $30..they said it was wired wrong..by Walkup Electric..These people charged me over $1100 to wire it wrong..5 hours labor plus parts.. they adjusted the bill when I told them they werent out there 3 hours all together but they still charged me over $700.. .I would NEVER EVER recommend them to anyone and I will NEVER use them again!!..had I not had a surge protector it would have fried everything in my camper and cost over $1000 in repairs. They sent the first tech back out and he fixed the problem and apologized for the mishap..They should be made to refund my money for all the trouble they put me through..I am 67 years old and on a fixed income.. SHAME ON THEM!!

Technician connected bathroom light switch incorrectly and it caused a fire in circuit breaker box. Took technician 4 hours to replace 2 circuit breakers and light switch. The bill was over $500. They discounted $200 and ended up charging me over $300. A 20 minute job turned into 4 hours due to their incompetence. Will never use again.

So this will be long but I want to fully explain my reasoning. About 4 years ago I used walk up when we had an electrical emergency at our residence. They showed up within a couple hours, and got the job done nicely. I was so appreciative of their timing and care for our family not having power. Since then we have used them for several other small jobs. All of which went well.Flash forward to now. I inherited an older home about six months ago. Sadly it needed a full rewiring. So of course I use the company I trust and have used for years. Well, they began back in June on the 18th. I was told it would only take a few days-4 at the most. Well now its been OVER a month. They have only showed up a handful of times. The first guy that came was apparently fired and left several holes in my walls from ripping wires out (I have pics).Then the other guys have barely been able to come do work. They will come for a few hours and then leave. One morning they came by around 10am left around 1130, came back and then left again around 130. It was my understanding that they kept getting pulled to other jobs.End result, this company is leaning towards getting away from residential work. It isnt as profitable as large companies and corporations. However, instead of just telling us that they drag families along and along for months. My child and I are now having to live with family as the house has power to only one receptacle in the bathroom and can not power the rest of the home. Will never use this company again. I dont hate the company for going where the money is, but how about dont drag people along either. Just stop accepting residential work so we can find other more reliable sources.

Walkup did a great job installing a ceiling fan. Had an issue with the bill but the company made it right and committed to reviewing how they bill customers.

This local family owned business is fantastic!!! I can say enough about their customer service, service calls, and follow up! I have had the pleasure of seeing a few of their specialist and the office staff is more then amazing! I will be using them r for all our future electric and HVAC needs.

Excellent company, very good service techs extremely professional and committed to getting the job done right. Ive dealt with these guys many times, in fact on Aug 6, 2018 call them out on an extremely busy day for them and very hot and humid. Once again my favorite tech Steve did an outstanding job for us. This company is great. We had them coming over to fix our HVAC unit and also some outdoor outlets. We had a same day call back to schedule the visits. The workers are super friendly and really know what they are doing.Their price is way better than other companies as well, and the service way superior in quality.

These guys were awesome! We had a horrible electrical issue and our kitchen caught on fire then the electricity went out and these guys showed up within 2 hours on a weekend HOLIDAY at that! The prices are fair for what you get, the service is amazing, the guys that came out were very informative! Awesome company!

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Their estimate was fair. The work was done in a quick manner and they cleaned up afterwards. I liked they they suggested updating the lights to LED. The lighting is so much better.

Good group of guys to work for

Very unhappy with this company when they came to my home they would not tell me how much the work would cost, after they did the job they still could not tell me how much said i get billed .Well weeks later i did get billed and very high !! i never heard of any place doing work without a price before ,Also the guy that came was very nutty and they insulted my home after going in the attic ,He seen a sign i did farm rescue well he kept begging me to take some kittens he even called after he did the work harrassing me to take his kittens ,so i let him bring them just to get him to stop calling me he brought so many cats in very bad shape to top it off !!! they were sick costing me very high vet bills and got my personel cats sick .i regret ever calling this company and the work was half fast done and i had to pay for them to go to the store to get a part and light socket not put in right bluging out have to get someone to fix the mess .
