I have a real estste company and licensed both in Al and Tn. National Association of Realtors says Realtors only had to join one board/Association and could join the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) without joining the another Association. My office and all the agents wanted to just join the MLS associated with Shoals Area Assco. We are already a member of another Association.The staff at Shoals Area Association made it so hard to find out information, wouldnt return calls timely, told us we would HAVE to use their lockboxes, told us we couldnt show listed property if we didnt join the Association. We are licensed with the state of Al to list and sell real estate. Once we weeded through what they could and thought they could make us do about 6 months of going back and forth. Finally, we are about to get it all worked out and I sent in my check and application, only to be told oh we are so sorry, the MLS only member fee went up, it went from $250 to $750. Yes, I said $750. Now nothing was said during the last 6 months of any fee increase. Funny no other fees had increased.
