My kids and I have been going here for years! Everyone has been kind, efficient and very professional. We love seeing Dr. Kautz. She always takes her time with us and is very thorough when explaining things. She listens and genuinely seems to care about her patients. I dont ever feel rushed!The optical department does a wonderful job and knows the ins and outs of insurance. They have a great selection of frames and are always willing to help if you need a repair or adjustment, later on.

I have trusted my eye care to Michigan Eye Institute for over 10 years. The entire staff are true professionals and very efficient. I consistently see Dr Diskin (Jeffrey) who is thorough, knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. Sarah performed the preliminary testing including the eye exam, glaucoma evaluation and prep for Dr Diskin. She was also very knowledgeable, gregarious and patient, providing answers for all of my questions. The front office staff were also friendly and well trained. In the Optical Department Steve & Kristen were top notch and very helpful. Overall a delightful experience!!

With some reluctance ,but advised by a friend to see a Jeffrey Diskin. I was very impressed by the materials sent to me before my appointment and upon my arrival how smoothly things were taken care of. I had some questions with some of the paperwork, it was very clean ,very professional, the time that was needed was taken with me. I didn’t feel like a rushed number… the doctor answered all my questions. I feel I have the necessary materials to make a final decision now, I would recommend Michigan Eye Institute of Fenton to anyone.

I walked in on 9/3 at 2:30pm no appointment as I had something in my eye. The girls at the counter couldn’t have been nicer. She called back to the Dr. Tekiele because he was leaving and he said yes he would see me. I went back and was treated like I was a special person as he took care of my eye while explaining things. I had to go back on 9/8 at 7:30am and the staff was outstanding. I saw Dr. Diskin and he rechecked my eye and was great he took the time to talk to me and explained everything. I would highly recommend Michigan Eye Institute to everyone. They go out of there way with customer service.

Staff is nice however when it comes to respecting the customers time, at this office there is no respect. My appointment was at 1:45. I arrived early to fill out paper work. I was not called back to see anyone until 2:30. Due to my eyes needing to be dialated I didn’t end up seeing the doctor until 3:15. She explained they had new systems which caused this delay. Well then this is something that needs to be considered when scheduling back to back appointments. Think ahead. The doctor was kind and thorough. But this not the first time I’ve sat and waited for over an hour to do an eye exam at this office. It’s a shame because it’s a nice office and close to home but it seems to be a pattern here so I’ll give it one more go in hopes that this changes. Appointment at 1:45. Left office at 3:45. There goes my afternoon.

My appointment was for 2:30, I arrived 10 minutes early. Sat in the waiting area for over 30 minutes. Felt like once I was in they rushed through my eye exam.Went to pick out new frames and the gal that helped me was great. She explained to me the cost and helped set me up with a new pair of glasses.

Dr. David Diskin and his staff are the best. I arrived at their office very nervous to have eye surgery. His surgery staff are so friendly and put me at ease immediately. Dr. Diskin eased my nerves by explaining to me the procedure before he did the surgery. I would highly recommend this group.The office is very Covid conscious. They go above and beyond to keep their office germ- free.

Fenton location is filled with super friendly and helpful staff from start to finish. Dr. Kautz and her clinical staff are very thorough. Both of my 15 yo twin girls were seen by Dr. Kautz. She took her time checking and explaining their eye health along with the vision testing and contact lens fitting, never hesitating to answer any questions or concerns I had. Quick to get in for appointments, short wait time, and for both visits we were done and ready to go in about an hour. Thank you to everyone at MEI!!

And when I asked for the paper she was looking at showing my prices for glasses from insurance she refused to let me see.. so I refused to order glasses from them.

My Husband and I have had horrible experiences at this location. My experience today was the most bizarre experience in a doctors office ever. I thought my appointment was at 10:30 am it was actually at 10:15 am. Immediately when I walked in I felt as if I was scolded for being late. I apologized for my error and putting 10:30 in my appointment alert. The receptionist said to me again didn’t you get a reminder from us. At this point I said to her do you not want my business. She said no we just have a strict 15 minute policy we won’t take you after that time. I said even though it was an honest mistake.She even asked someone who worked there how are we doing with time. She said fine. There was one person in the lobby and no cars out front at all. Unbelievable! It was dead in there!The receptionist went and got the doctor and he said we have a strict 15 minute policy and this is the busiest day of the year. I was like no one is in this office or parking lot. He said come back at the end of the day. I looked at him and said I will never come here again and walked out. I guess he just lost a ton of business. Awful service! Going to Walmart!

The doctors and staff were very informative, accurately explaining what to expect and answering my questions. Eye exam was great. As many posted here I will NOT buy glasses from them again. Last time they would not help with frames after I indicated I wanted Davis Vision frames that my insurance fully covered. This time they lied and said Davis Vision frames were not fully covered anyway (they are). Done!

Yesterday was my first visit to this location. I was VERY impressed by the staff. I have been to multiple eye care places over the years, and very few run as efficient and professional as this one. Everything was clearly explained to me from start to finish, and at no point did I feel like I was being processed, which in todays world is quite rare. Nice to go to a professional where you dont feel like you are an inconvenience. The staff truly care about patient satisfaction. Thank you for the pleasant experience.

Every time I have went to this location it has been a lengthy wait time however the Dr and staff have always been so nice I first went there for a cataract Consultation they did my eye exam and measurements at the Fenton location and then I went to the surgery center in Flint for the procedures I upgraded to an advanced Toric lens implant BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE it took me months to decide to have the surgery because I was so scared but everyone at Michigan Eye Surgery Center was beyond nice from the moment I walked in the door they kept me informed of everything that was happening even during the surgery I had someone right there talking me through it the only side affect I had after surgery was sensitivity to light for the first few days but other then that it all went pretty smooth!!!

To their credit, they got me in the same day I called when a problem developed with my eyes. However, in my opinion their office seemed like a patient mill and although I was there for at least an hour, the Dr. saw me for only 5 min. He seemed abrupt and in a hurry to be done with me and see more patient$. He seemed a knowledgeable and competent Dr. but I prefer someone that makes me feel important, too.

Had a similar experience to others, the exam was good but felt like I was taken when getting glasses. After the visit I read other reviews and the email response from the business and emailed them directly. They were kind enough to call me after my email to address my concerns but in the end, their response was that they did not educate me enough about what I received. Felt even on the call that was given the used car sales tactics...the retail price is ..... and you got it for this. In hindsight, I feel similar to the others where I would go back for the exam but shop elsewhere for the glasses.

I was referred to the Grand Blanc office by Dr. Jeffery Diskin because I need advanced care for glaucoma. At Grand Blanc I worked with Nicholas Bruns and My Le Shaw.Dr Shaw recommended that I have combined glaucoma surgery and cataract surgery. My left eye was treated with an excellent result. Before proceeding with my right eye, Dr. Shaw was concerned that my left eye had not stablized because I had RK surgery, years ago. Surgery on my right eye was postponed until we could get a stable refraction on my left eye.At my next appointment in March, Dr. Shaw informed me that she would not be available to operate on my right eye. She referred me to a Dr. Lemon out of Lansing and Owosso. She told me that MEI told her to refer all patients needing glaucoma surgery accordingly. Since this was not a convenient location I asked for a local recommendation.My association with Dr. Bruns and Dr. Shaw was extremely positive. Both exhibited the utmost competence and compassion. I hope to continue to treat with Dr Bruns after surgery on my right eye. I think the loss of Dr. Shaw leaves a large void in your organization.

This turned out to be the worst experience Ive ever had with an eye care center. The people and the Doctors were great. The billing and the accounting department are terrible. They billed me and my insurance company for the same thing, we both paid, then my insurance company deducted that amount from my reimbursement check. I called multiple times, Andrea was rude, dishonest, and condescending. Every time I spoke with her she pretended that I had spoke with someone else. I had been there before and had a good experience, its to bad they have people like Andrea. After reading there response: Completely dis-honest, the 1st story they told me, was that they charge me because they thought I was coming back for a fitting (after my insurance company called them out) 2nd story, they only charged me because they didnt think my insurance would pay. By the way my insurance company had to also call them twice. 3rd story, Andrea told me she had just seen my refund check, and when I received the check it was dated 2 days after her telling me that. Sometimes just wish they would face up to there mistakes, and say that they are sorry, not make up some silly response, blaming my insurance company.

I went here after experiencing some trauma to my eye. The staff was very kind and efficient; making my appointment was easy and on the day of they got me in on time. The medical staff and Doctor took good care of me and were thorough and explained things very well. Afterwards the office staff went out of their way to help me with my insurance. It was altogether a very good experience. I highly recommend them.

Had Lasik done here. My astigmatism was corrected and after a month and a half is now 20/20 in one eye & 20/15 in the other. The schedulers really worked hard around my schedule. The surgery went well without and complications. Prices are now in line with the others.

This has been the most horrible experience. I took a prescription from my eye doctor for years in first it took over 6 weeks for the glasses to come in, the frame then got ruined by them over heating them so they order me a new frame and lenses, the sunglasses i ordered came in and the did not put anti glare on them they had to be remade. Now with the new frames they placed the wrong prescription in the glasses which they are trying to say my eyes changed the first pair they made worked fine my old pair worked fine but these new ones my eyes are blurie? Their solution that they will give me an eye exam, I examined that is not the issue come to fine out they entered in the wrong prescription. this has been going on for over 4 months. I cant believe how incompetent one person is and they still have their job. On person in the fenton location did all this! I would highly recommend going else where.

This was my first time here. I have historically gone to a doctor in Grand Blanc. I thought I would try someone new closer to my home. I think it may have been a mistake. Getting the appointment was easy, meeting with the doctor was good, she was helpful but it was a bit long but detailed. After the doctor appointment I was walked out to the eye glass area to look for new glasses. This is really where the problem started. My eyes are dilated and I really cant see that well but was looking at glasses with the girl at the counter. She was not the happiest person, I was there in the morning and wrote it off as she was not a morning person. She was young and not happy (I have kids, she could have been one of them). I shopped around and after trying on a two or three pairs decided on one after asking pricing. I was trying to keep in on the cheap but in the end ended up paying a few hundred more than I wanted.The next day I looked at my bill and realized that the girl added everything you could add on and that is why my bill was so high. I was mad and still am. I feel that she took advantage of me when I really could not see what I was doing. She pulled the old used car salesman trick and added everything including the undercoating.I learned my lesson, NEVER go to the sales counter after an eye exam. They are setting you up to take advantage of you and want your money. AVOID the same mistake I made. Personally I am thinking about making a Youtube video about the experience to broadcast this message to a larger audience.

I ordered 2 sets of glasses that cost as much as my first car ($1000+) they never called or texted me to notify me they were ready to picked up.. no big deal. However my regular glasses were the wrong prescription and had to be sent back. Then the sunglasses had to be to returned less than 2 weeks later because the lens were popping out. (I always kept them in the case when not in use) My regular glasses were ready to be picked up at this point. But I never got a call or text saying they were ready to be picked up. I then asked what I could do to ensure I would be contacted when my glasses were ready they gave me the run around and I asked them to PERSONALLY CALL AND TEXT me when they were done. I was told the sunglasses would be ready in 2-3 weeks or 4 weeks MAX. I waited one month (4 weeks) and called they said the glasses were not ready. Then waited and waited eventually I called 2 months after I dropped them off and the glasses were ready and said they had been ready for sometime and were just sitting there... I then tell them Ill be there in 20 min. I get there and they cant find them after 5-10 min of looking for them they ask if I got a call or text and I said no even though I had specifically asked them to and they looked at me like I was BEYOND STUPID.. I then continued to say I called less than 30 min ago and was told I could pick them up. After 5 more min of searching they found them. HOW HARD IS IT TO LET SOMEONE KNOW WHEN THEIR GLASSES ARE READY ESPCIALLY WHEN I TOLD THEM THE OTHER TIMES THEIR AUTOMATED SYSTEM DIDNT LET ME KNOW SO PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE CALL ME TO CONFIRM I WAS AWARE THEY WERE READY! FOR HOW MUCH THOSE GLASSES COST I WOULD EXPECT THAT AT THE VERY LEAST PRETTY PATHETIC! WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE!

I had LASIK surgery about 5 months ago. It was an amazing surgery! The procedure was honestly really cool to experience. The staff is second to none from beginning to end. Very thorough in the pre surgery appointments and very good at communicating what the procedure entails. Ive been in glasses and contacts since middle school, but I dont need them anymore! At one day out from LASIK I was already 20/20, and even better up close. Now five months later, I am 20/15. Thank you Dr. Tekiele and Dr. Diskin!

Save your time and money. I had insurance and it still cost over $600. and the billing errors continue. My glasses still do not correct my vision and in fact my prescription from 2003 is the pair of glasses I am wearing. This establishment was recommended by someone I did not know very well and now I have to wait 2 years to get another pair of glasses or pay out of pocket...........Go to a place who will value you and make sure they take care of you. They lied to me about information i called and asked for and then billed me for their error.Darlene M. Sawicki
