I highly recommend Dr Slagel and his amazing staff. I had two excisions on my arm and chest. The procedure was quick and painless. Easy recovery and quick suture removal. Patient for life.

I took my mother in law to the Yorktown office today to have minor leg surgery. The atmosphere was wonderful, from the friendly registration staff to nursing staff to the cozy office. I liked the lilt trees. In the midst of the pandemic I wasn’t sure if I would be allowed to wait in the office, but the staff welcomed me and took my temp. During the hour wait while she had the procedure I was able to observe the respect, patience and gentle attitude displayed, especially toward the more “mature” clients. If I lived closer this would be my dermatologist. My mother in law commented on Dr. Slagel’s love of cooking for his family.,

Put it this way, when I answered the survey I was sent about the visit, this is what I answered for the question on Level of courtesy and respect I received from the staff: I wish there were about 5 more selections higher than Very Good. They were the friendliest staff I have ever experienced in any medical office. From the staff member I scheduled on the phone with to each one who I came in contact with at the visit, I was treated professionally layered in kindness.My skin check went well and everything was explained for each concern.

I had a horrible experience with the doctor ( slagel). He didnt let me tell him what was going on with me. He only had all the answers. I would never refer any of my friends an family. He talked down to me. I was taught in nursing school. That pain is what the patient tells u. He was objective an not subjective. Im the patient an Im telling you whats going on with me.

Ive had several great appointments at this office and dealt with many nurses, NPs, and Dr. Slagel. Each experience has been positive. I had two skin surgeries and was very nervous about the procedures. Each nurse I encountered was kind, patient, and answered any questions I had. Dr. Slagel was also very personable and patient. They are efficient and polite but get you in and out in a timely manner, which I appreciate. I highly recommend this practice.

Nice Office, Cool Staff, All Good. And, best part, Dr. Malerie Barnett is SMOKING HOT!!

I Had Lazer surgery on my hand done by Dr Slagle years ago and it shows so very tiny scar!IV Been Very Pleased with the Out come on The top of my Hand and I would Go to Him Again if I Ever Needed to!!!! Thank you Dr. Slagle for your extremely expert care!!! I live in S Florida now but would commute to see him!! My dermatologist commented that the surgery was beautiful!! But they don’t do lazer!!😕 So I told them who had done mine!!!! And that I was very happy with it!!!

Dr. Slagel and nurses are AMAZING! The ladies in the front office ruined our experience. They embarrassingly talked about financial issues in front of other patients that were in line behind us, and were not willing to work with us. Someone else had to pay off my balance, so that I could get a procedure done. They had my husband and myself in their office crying from embarrassment, and did nothing about it. I have been going to this office for years, and will not be returning. It’s a shame they have ruined our experience, I hope that other patients will not be treated like my husband and myself were.

Dr. Slagel and staff are the most caring and wonderful people you will ever meet. His office is so clean and beautiful. I wouldnt trust my skin care with any one else!

I have been seeing Dawn Paletta and Dr Slagel for about 10 years now. Ive never had problems with scheduling, billing, and have always been treated very well. From the front desk to the exam room, I am treated very professionally and agreeably. As to my medical care, everything has been explained very clearly and expectations were clearly communicated in terms of recovery.

I am thankful that Dr Slagel and PA Dawn take my health as seriously as I do. Having melanoma twice, they are diligent with my full skin exams and even order yearly chest x-rays and bloodwork. They seek to catch any new spots in the early stages so that it is much more easily treatable. 😊

I called & made an appointment and then took my grandmother to Dr. Slagel, and I have absolutely no complaints! Shes been going to him for years, but Ive never been with her before. I work in Healthcare, so I understand how important it is to keep a patients information updated/current. The front desk was on their game and I didnt even have to prompt them that we not only had a new address but new insurance info as well. As for Dr. Slagel himself, I was highly impressed with him! I would never hesitate to go to him myself. 5 stars, Doc!!

I called many, many dermatologist to find one that accepted our insurance, when I found this I was so excited to finally have a Dr for my 15 year old. I drove over an hour one way to be told at the front desk they do NOT accept my insurance! ! be warned, apparently even asking all the right questions doesnt mean anything. ..

I had a pretty good experience until I saw the PA. She was not as friendly. She was quick and with an arrogant demeanor. The result of the nitrogen freeze left a huge, uncomfortable blister on my finger for 2 weeks. I have a healthy immune, dont smoke, or have anything that would compromise a quick recovery. The recovery was longer than expected for such a minor treatment. Unfortunately, I had to return to dermatology for a second treatment but chose a different practice. The second time at a different practice was much better, much more informative, and friendly. My first visit to Dr. Slagels office was my last.

Dr. Slagel performed my surgery well, but entire staff, Dr. included, seemed to be just rushing me thru the system and treated me like nothing more than their next paycheck. Should have trusted my gut after my first appointment with his PA that they were just a processing center. Hope you have a better experience if you chose to see this Dr.

My mother is going through breast cancer treatment and went here to have her yearly check up the other week. They called her regarding the biopsy AFTER 6PM, left a message to which my mother immediately called back. They did not return the call and it went straight to voicemail. It is now the next day at almost 10AM - the office has been open for a while and still no call back. My mother has tried repeatedly to call and it goes straight to voicemail. Ive never experienced customer service this poor in my life. To do this to someone who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer...I have no words that are polite so Ill stick with grossly unprofessional. I will make sure everyone I know never goes here because of how they have treated my mother. This is unreal.

This place treats patients as if the are a mere inconvenience. Beware if you 5-10 mins late, good chance you will not be seen. If you 15 mins late you will NOT be seen, however they are happy to reschedule. Slagel needs to decide if he is a going to run a dematology practice or a beauty spa, doing both is not working. As far as the nurses, they are by far the most rude, careless, inconsiderate, and ridiculous I have ever encountered. This post doesn’t stem from a single appointment, this is over the past 7. Do to the treatment, it would have been harder to get another appointment with someone else than to deal with the snobs at this practice. Also, regardless of what your appointment is for, don’t waste your time to ask the doctor to take a quick look as something outside your appointment details. You will have to schedule another appointment for that, so they can milk you and your insurance for more. Also, just because you specifically ask to see Dr. Slagel, the odd are you will see one of his two NPs., so don’t waste a month longer to see him..... don’t worry they will wait till you are in the office to let you know you will be seeing a NP.

Terrible experience. Charged an expensive fee to be treated like a credit card only, not like a patient. No care at all. After this disheartening and depressing experience, I will find another dermatologist, because I really do need one.

Same unresponsive experience as the other posters. Called to make an appointment (Im a past patient with him), receptionist struggled to find me on computer, then said she would put me on hold but hung up. Called back got voice mail so left a message/phone number to please call me back and they never did.

Dr Slagel and Dawn are great at what they do....the staff in the office are horrible.......watch out

Horrible admin service!!! I have waited in your office sometimes up to 30-45 minutes to see a doctor. Today I was 13 minutes late and they told me I would have to reschedule. Unacceptable!!!! Horrible Service!!!

They are not very good in the billing department....the doctor seems to be good, but the staff does not seem like they care to be helpful.
