My mother has been at SWC for just under a decade and has received exceptional care the entire time. The staff may change a bit but the care does not. The communication is great, they are attentive, caring and have kept her safe and happy, even through covid. I have no doubt this care will continue for the rest of my mothers journey.

My mom has been at Sedgewood Commons for over a year. She gets exceptional care there. The staff are respectful of the residents and families. They meet the residents where they are and provide what they need. I love the fenced private courtyards that each unit has. They are beautiful, with something always in bloom, and they provide easy access to outdoors for residents.

Exceptional care! Our father was blessed to spend the last three months of his 92 year old life here. Our family couldnt be more grateful for the respect and care he received from everyone on the staff in the Hawthorne unit. Even after he passed, we received a beautiful card from every member of the staff sharing their condolences and memories. Our father had been in another nursing home where he was ignored most of the day. At Sedgewood, he received personal attention, a sense of belonging, food he enjoyed, and excellent hygiene. When we told the staff we were coming to take him out for visit, he was always perfectly dressed and ready to go when we arrived. Throughout his time, we appreciated the communication we had with everyone from the nurse to the aides. The staff are outstanding persons who seem dedicated to a high level of care and compassion.

My father is a current resident at this facility. Prior to coming here he was not doing well in the hospital and people were giving up on him! At Sedgewood with attentive caring staff he has improved quickly! My brother can’t even believe the difference he sees between then and now. They keep us informed of the happenings and if they have questions they reach out and call. It’s great when I walk in and see him interacting with staff and he even has jokes! The facility looks more like cozy community rather than a typical nursing home. I’m happy he is here and I feel like I will have more time with him because of it!

My mother in-law received a high level of care from a dedicated staff. They encouraged resident interaction and there are lovely outdoor garden space and large windows for a pleasant environment. Hospice came in and worked with the nurses to provide care and comfort until the end of life.

My mother was a resident in a dementia unit at Sedgewood for a month, at which point we reluctantly moved her to a nursing home closer to where we live. We found Sedgewood to be very well managed, from admissions and care planning through discharge, and also found its staff very well trained to care for dementia patients. All members of senior management monitor the units, including making routine late night visits to inspect activities. The medical staff was scrupulous in monitoring my mothers health and well-being, and initiated various changes to improve her condition; I often saw them circulating in the unit, and most were warm and outgoing with patients. CNA staff receive regular training updates on dementia care, and most were very responsive in caring for my mother, who could be very challenging. I wish there had been more CNAs to allow for greater social interaction with patients, but the staffing ratio is the same as that found at most facilities. The facility is spacious, quiet, fresh, and clean (my family visited there 5 days a week at different hours of the day). Meals were healthy, ample, appealing, and tasty. I met the families of several long-term residents, and each of them was very positive about their experiences at Sedgewood. Like them, I came to feel confident that my mother was safe and well cared for there. I highly recommend Sedgewood.

My father ended up spending the last few weeks of his life at Sedgewood Commons. His care was superb. The facility was clean and well run. The staff were professional and caring. I am a physical therapist who has worked in long term care so I know what I am seeing. Thank you to all the staff here who made his last days memorable ones for all of us.

The dynamic trio on Hawthorne are three of the best CNAs I have had the pleasure of working alongside. Aside from having 60 years of experience in total, they are kind and truly care about each and every resident. It is a privilege to work and learn from them. Thanks for all your hard work, it is certainly appreciated.

My Mother has been at Sedgewood for over a year. The direct care staff are awesome, they really care about the clients. It’s the management, they never follow through, even lie right to your face all along smiling and assuring you that the “little” incident will never happen again. The head of nursing will not return calls. It’s a mess!
