From the moment you walk through the door you receive smiles and a warm greeting. You are pretty much catered to with refreshments in a very comforting environment. Questions are answered respectfully. When I went back for my cleaning and exam I was given a list of items to choose from to make me more comfortable.. it was like being in a spa. Sounds silly but it really was. I got a cool eye patch for my eyes and a wonderful scented warm neck wrap (may choices) but there were other great options. it really helped calm me and was just really nice. I dont get treatment like that anywhere!!! I dont even treat myself to things like that so for a mom of three... going to the dentist made my day! The staff and doctor were very warm and friendly and offered options for my needs to best suite me and my budget. All in all I had a wonderful experience and truly wouldnt want to go anywhere else.

I used to fear going to the dentist but those days are over. The staff at A Perfect Smile always makes me feel warm and welcome and the dental hygienists do such a great job of making sure Im comfortable and explaining what they are doing that I no longer fear going. Whether it is for a regular cleaning - complete with a warm, scented neck wrap to help me relax - or to have some work done, I always know Im in good hands. I highly recommend Dr. Nelson and his experienced staff to anyone looking for top notch dentist.

From the moment I walked through the door until I walked out, everyone was very pleasant and worked with my concerns and found ways to perform services within my comfort zone. My hygienist, Chelsea, was very pleasant and polite. Made the 3 hours I was in easy to handle with no anxiety. Very informative and was able to answer all of my questions as well. Definitely recommend this office to anyone seeking dental services.

I recently chipped a filling while on vacation, but the day I got back, the staff worked their magic to get me in to see Dr. Karagiorgos. I feel so lucky to have such amazing dental care, everyone in that office goes above and beyond to accommodate and care for their patients. I never thought that I’d say “I love going to the dentist”!

I went to see Dr. Nelson at A Perfect Smile after a very unpleasant experience with a different dentist. I moved to Portland recently and just picked a dentist from the web. I had a cavity filled with this dentist that didnt go well and decided to go to A Perfect Smile for a second opinion after someone at work recommended them to me. The experience there was wonderful. Completely different than my experience with my previous dentist. Everyone at A Perfect Smile is friendly, caring and made me feel completely at ease. Dr. Nelson is very nice, and knowledgeable and I now have no qualms about future work that I need to have done!

As someone who has had dental related trauma, I am so appreciative of the gentle care I receive at A Perfect Smile. Kathy, my hygienist, is wonderful. I feel as calm as I possibly could in that chair when she is working on my teeth. Thank you!

I had been a patient of Dr. Nelsons years ago and due to relocating and job changes, had moved to a different practice. I recently had the opportunity to come back to A Perfect Smile and am so happy that I did. Dr. Nelson and his staff are amazing. They use the latest technology and practices to help make your visit as efficient and effective as possible. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting and you are greeted cheerfully when you walk in the door. This was my first visit with Chelsea and she was extremely thorough and helpful. After reviewing my history and then taking a series of x-rays and oral photographs, she spent time with me helping me to understand what was going on with my mouth. Having the the images immediately available on the screen (because A Perfect Smiles uses digital x-rays), Chelsea was quickly able to find problem areas, come up with a plan and then present that plan to me, all from the chair I was sitting in. You will not be sorry for paying Dr. Nelson a visit. The only thing you will regret is not going sooner. A big THANK YOU to all of the members of A Perfect Smile team for making my visit exceptional.

If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Previously being a patient of Dr. Nelson this office has gone downhill. The lack of professionalism and disregard to their own mistakes then patients have to pay for it. I mad an appointment months ago, then called less than 24 hours before said scheduled appointment that more time is needed and that my appointment had to be moved up an hour then a subsequent email stating if they dont hear from me by 2pm my appointment is cancelled. Well I was working and did not check my email until after 2pm. So my appt was cancelled. It is not any fault of mine that I was incorrectly scheduled the first time months ago and not caught less than 24 hour before that appt. As I see the recent reviews Im not the only that has noticed things have worsened with the new owners/management. When I called the office the office manager did not once apologize for their wrong doing, which wouldve made the situation better. But kept stating can you understand where were coming from. Really, the error was done by someone in your office months ago not by me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nelsons at A Perfect Smile for almost 10 years. Everyone in the office is so kind, friendly, and genuinely concerned about my well being. I have needed some extensive work and Dr. Nelson and his staff always make sure I am comfortable, informed, and pain free. Long gone are the days where I would stress out about going to the dentist. I cannot imagine ever seeing another hygienist (love you Kathy!) or dentist!!

This morning I wasnt feeling well, woke up with a headache from hell and came extremely close to canceling my appointment, but knowing that the next available appointment could be weeks out I threw my shades on and off I went. I started my visit with one of there delicious unsweetened peach iced teas while catching up on the morning news in the waiting room. After being walked back to my room I was offered a heated/scented neck wrap and whatever else I would like off the complimentary spa menu.. Yes I said spa menu! Of course I Choose the congested heated eye pillows in hopes they would release some of the tension behind my eyes. Normally Id just lay back and watch some tv while they clean away, but even the bright lights were to much. After she carefully placed the pillows over my eyes, and the wrap around my neck, it was instant heaven, literally could have fallen asleep. Ive never felt more relaxed in my entire life, during something that I already enjoy more than most do. I know the dentist can be a scary place for a lot of people, and sometimes these little things wont make a difference in your visit, but maybe they can help in some ways. I respect my dental office for much more than just making sure their patients are comfortable, but for continuously providing me with the best possible services I could ever receive. If your looking for a change, or need an upgrade in your dentist visit, try The Perfect Smile in Falmouth! Dr. Nelson and his staff are tremendous people and truly go above and beyond for their patients! 😁😷

As someone who hadnt been to a dentist in (literally) decades, I can say with some understatement that there was a certain amount of apprehension involved in my visit. Although I came in flustered (thank you, crazy GPS directions, grr), and, as I said, apprehension, and my least friendly demeanor (to put it mildly), the staff was friendly and welcoming, personable, and helpful. The building is well designed, open and inviting (and eco-friendly!). Every person who works there looks like they want to be there, not just like a job. The service was up-to-date, everyone was extremely knowledgeable, and everything was explained in depth. Within minutes of my arrival I felt my tension begin to dissipate. A joy to visit! I recommended it to my wife, who is now also a satisfied customer. Thumbs up, cheers and kudos.

Im sure my experience would have been better if Id started with a near perfect smile. Dr. Nelson is a very skilled, albeit judgmental, dentist. On my first visit Dr. Nelson suggested the extraction of all my teeth. While I needed a lot of fillings in my mid 20s after not having been to the dentist since getting my braces removed 5 years prior this was quite a jarring statement to make to a new patient. Needless to say I went back several times for fillings that, in hindsight, seem more painful than they should have been. I am no longer a patient, and the rest of my fillings, while undoubtedly not as well crafted, have been pain free procedures. Every time Im complimented on my smile I think back to my first visit to Dr. Nelson and his offer to remove it.

I really am impressed with Dr. Nelson and the Staff. The office is looks like were in the 21st century, unlike the1970s decor of the usual Maine Dental office. Not only that but they have access to modern procedures and ideas that enhance your look, like a medi-spa for teeth. I had asked my old dentist who could whiten and fix my ever more crooked front tooth and she recommended crest strips. So I tried this office from an internet ad. Im so glad I did! After I started treatment I sent my husband and hes delighted. Ill send anyone who complains to me about their teeth. They figured out how much my insurance would cover and helped me finance the rest - no interest! The cost is a fraction of what it would be in New York.

**Update: Dr.Nelson is a terrible dentist with no skill or passion for his craft whatsoever. Within two years every tooth of mine that he worked on has chipped, cracked, or broken off entirely. Save your money, but more importantly, save your teeth by avoiding Dr.Nelson, find another dentist!Dr. Nelson is not talented in the practice of cosmetic dentistry. I paid thousands of dollars to have cosmetic work done on my front teeth. He was rough, I asked for something to calm my nerves several times yet nothing was offered to me. He was talking and humming the entire time so he clearly wasnt focused on my smile! After my first office visit I layed in bed for three days because I was in so much pain!! On the fourth day one of the teeth he worked on broke off while I was brushing my teeth!! I called his office and told them what happened and they told me to come in, so I did and I was in tears telling Dr. Nelson what a horrible experince this had been for me. I wanted my money back but he insited that he could fix it so I sat in the chair and he went at it again with his drill. This dentist uses a drill as if he was trying to break through asphalt on the street! He kept hitting other teeth and it hurt! I left the office with six more teeth throbbing in pain. I literally walked out of there with tears running down my face. It was awful. Unfortunatley I had to go back 2 weeks later because he had put a temporary tooth on one of my teeth and the permanent tooth was ready. During this visit his dental assistant dripped water down the side of my face, down my neck and my back several times and when I told her about it she apologized, tabbed my face dry and a few minutes later she allowed water to go down my face, neck and back again. This time she said, oops, that was me as her and Dr. Nelson giggled. Then she grabbed a big towel and tossed it over me saying, this should take care of it . Dr. Nelson chipped one of my natural teeth and never fixed it. He did such an awful job I dont know how he is still licenced on the Maine Board of Dentistry. His staff makes rude remarks and hey will literally gang up on you if you voice the slightest concern that you may have. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE NAME OF THIS BUSINESS. DR. NELSON IS NOT A GOOD DENTIST BY ANY MEANS. Since then I have found a dentist who charges half the price and does 100% better job than Dr. Nelson and the dental assistants at A perfect smile.
