I am so grateful to have found out about Monumental Beginnings prior to giving birth to twins. I used Kristas services postpartum. My husband and I benefited from her visits so much. We were able to sleep, run errands and give my toddler some much needed 1:1 attention. We also had her do some overnight hours which was amazing. I slept so well knowing my twins were in good hands. Having struggled with postpartum depression in the past, having Krista cover me for a few hours in the day, was truly imperative to my mental health. I will be recommending her time and time again. Krista assisted with the birth of our son and we couldn’t be happier with her knowledge, support and care. With each pre-natal meeting we had, we felt more comfortable and prepared for the arrival of our new baby. While at the hospital, Krista was encouraging and very caring. She also spoke up and advocated for us to make sure we felt comfortable and that our needs were met at the hospital. Krista was our doula and we couldnt have asked for a better one. She was kind, caring, and sensitive to our wishes. We wanted a natural child birth, that was as calm as we could get and we wanted someone who could really support my wife when I couldnt. Krista effectively communicated to the midwife staff at the hospital, she set up our delivery room with twinkling lights, dimmed the room lights, and hung affirmations made by our friends and family on the walls. This set the mood for not only us, but also the attending hospital staff. She assisted us through hours of labor, all around the delivery room, wherever she was needed she was there. I was really nervous going into this delivery and we couldnt have asked for a better one. It was really beautiful and meaningful for both of us and it just wouldnt have been the same without Kristas doula skills! Thank you Krista!! You are the best!

Krista helped make the birth of my daughter one of the most beautiful and profound experiences of my life. I had very much hoped to have an unmedicated birth, and although my partner and I had suspected that a doula would be essential, we didn’t know how essential until it actually happened.From the beginning, Krista built a relationship of trust and connection with us. She guided us in thinking through what we hoped for and what was important to us, as well as contingencies in case what we wanted wasn’t possible. When I actually went into labor, she helped me manage the hours at home in ways that kept me calm and grounded. Then, once we were in the hospital, she made the labor and delivery room into what really felt like a sacred space—dark and calm and decorated with twinkly lights, with all conversations held in hushed tones so I could stay focused on what I needed to do.The birth was an incredibly beautiful experience. In this dark, quiet room, I felt accompanied the whole time—my partner and Krista together were so present with me, witnessing whatever I was experiencing and each shift that the baby and I needed to make. Krista worked beautifully with my partner, and together they provided just what I needed to navigate 23 hours of unmedicated labor. With Krista’s skilled support and knowledge of what to offer when (even when I was beyond exhausted), I knew I could do it.I am deeply grateful to Krista for her unwavering presence, her comfort with and knowledge of all aspects of the birth process, her ability to anticipate and respond seamlessly to an ever-changing situation, and her incredible attunement and responsiveness to every member of the birth team. I can’t imagine having done any part of the process—whether before, during, or after the birth itself—without her presence.
