I highly recommend Welborn Fitness. I did the boot camp classes, which is really amazing because the coaches have something different for you everyday. I started to see results within the first week and a half. John and the other coaches do a great job at keeping things upbeat, and push you to challenge yourself.

I highly recommend Welborn Fitness. If you want to work hard... be motivated... be encouraged... have fun while working out...this is the place to go. The coaches are positive and keep you on track. It’s a family atmosphere and everyone is very supportive of each other. It is well worth it. I wouldn’t be trained anywhere else.

Im injury-prone. Seems like every time I turn around Im falling, tripping, losing my balance etc. Its very hard for me to maintain a weight loss program or an exercise program because of this. I had an MRI done a yr ago and found that I have six compressed discs in the lumbar and thoracic region. Ive been to physical therapy programs, I have hired other physical trainers. Until I met John, I really was thinking that I would end up being on pain medications and just have to accept where Im at. John showed me that he could change that outlook for me by helping me become a stronger person and thats exactly what hes doing. In just 3 months that Ive training with him, I have not had one fall, one trip or lost my balance. My outlook for future goals is stronger now than ever. John genuinely cares about what hes doing with his clients. he listens and when youre not having a good day he pushes you even harder because he knows that you can do it! hes very upbeat, extremely knowledgeable. You cannot fail when youre working with him, unless you quit. What hes done for me, I cant express enough, how grateful I am, thank you John!!

Ive been training with John for 5 months. I have lost 30+ pounds and about 3% of body fat. I havent felt better. John really enjoys what he does and it comes through when he is working with you. He is very knowledge about fitness, nutrition, and the body. The workouts are very well thought out and fun! John makes modifications for all types of injuries. I am so glad I made that appointment! John knows how to push you. He always does this in an encouraging way that doesnt make you feel stupid or insecure. there are all types of body shapes and sizes in his group classes. Everyone is at a different skill level, but it encourages you to push yourself even more. I was at a point with exercise that it was boring, I lost interest quickly and didnt want to do it anymore. I also felt like I didnt know what I was doing. John and his group takes all of that worry away, and the exercises are always different. I always love his flexibility with small children coming to be there. I know as a mom of two, when one is sick I can take them with me if need be. It makes it easy for parents to workout and get started with the day. I think besides his encouragement and enthusiasm, this is what sets him apart from all other gyms, even the ones with built in day care. Thank you!

You feel like a champ completing his workouts. They are challenging and work muscles that I long forgot I even had. I like that I can get in a complete workout in 30 minutes. The atmosphere is positive and inviting. John invests in each of his clients and differentiates workouts based on your ability and needs. He goes easy on no one though. Be prepared to leave your excuses somewhere far away from him. Trust him to get your mind and body in shape!!

Excellent service and a great motivator! Works with you and meets you where you are. Offers a variety of workouts. He is well trained in what he does and understands health beyond losing numbers on the scale. Also great in the community and offers single moms the opportunity to bring their kids! So great! With his overwhelming knowledge of nutrition, strength training and human behavior, I have lost 70 lbs, maintained my weight loss for over two years, and become healthier and stronger than Ive been in 40 years. JWF is absolutely amazing! Not even exaggerating either. I was very nervous at first because I had never done anything like this before. Part of it was the money but the biggest part was because I struggled daily with low self esteem. I was worried that people would look at me the wrong way or tease me because Im a BIG girl! That is not the case. Everyone there is focused on the same goal and thats improving our health and strengthening are BEAUTIFUL bodies!! JWF was so welcoming from the very beginning. The coaches are incredible and encourage you every single day to push yourself. Workouts are modified too so dont even worry about being a beginner. We all learn and grow together and its something that I really love about being a member here. I didnt think Id be able to stick it out but here I am 2 months later and 17lbs down!!

Coach John helped me begin my weight loss journey through the Family United Project . He offered flexibility nutrition solutions with online coaching videos that are amazing ! He is well spoken and a great motivational speaker . The videos were easily understood and he walked through the nutrition and work outs step by step .I still go back and review videos and stay in touch with coach John when I have questions he’s very personable and approachable. A Safe Place to Transform Your Body. John Welborn Fitness is a great place to workout and begin the process of transforming your body. I signed up for 12 weeks of personal training with John. Im about ten weeks in and Im probably three to five times stronger (if not more) than when I walked in the door. I think the other day I did something crazy like 27 sets of leg exercises in 50 minutes (and I didnt whine about it at all). Hes a great guy, super compassionate, and really enjoyable to work with. If youre in the Fairview, Gresham or East Portland area, definitely check him out. So much better than any big box gym and the results are incredible.

After years and I mean years of back issues Im finally walking around and more importantly getting up in the morning with little to no back pain. I have suffered for years from a low back with no curve. Getting up in the morning was painful and I would spend 30 minutes going through a stretching routine to get some relief. After working with John and learning some new exercises I am getting out of bed and not hurting. It was not a fast process but, neither was abusing my back all my life. The training was worth every penny and every minute I invested. Its so nice to have a curved back now. Cheers John, Thanks for all you do!

Amazing, supportive team. You could spend your money on a simple gym membership, but you wont get the same personalized attention and diet help. John customizes his training plan to each client. I have a shoulder injury and he designs my workout around that. He is super knowledgeable too-loves to explain why we do the things we do. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

He is responsible and willing to work with you on payments. He is definitely looking out for you and getting you were you want to be. If you have special conditions he is unfamiliar with he will find someone who can assist. You can tell he genuinely wants to help you reach your goals as long as you put in the work.

I found John through facebook and decided to give his gym a try after seeing all the positive feedback from his clients. I have been working out with John for 6 weeks and I am seeing results I never would have achieved on my own. Johns workouts are always new and targeting different muscle groups. Ive never actually WANTED to go to the gym before. Im not really sure who I am anymore.... lol. I really enjoy the small group workouts, and they are always different, so Im never bored. The trainers take into account any injuries or restrictions you might have, and are able to modify or change up the workouts for you. There are also no judgey people. All of the members are also great! I highly recommend this gym!

Ever been to a gym where you are completely comfortable? Never feeling judged? Allowed to talk back to the coach? Well thats this gym! John truly cares about what he does and his clients. I will say, you are definitely going to hurt after every work out. You will at some point feel haterad towards him, it is completely normal and he understands. You will look at him and want to just strangle him a couple of times. However, when you have the look on your face about ready to scream, he will look at you and say Go faster! keep going! I know you can do it!. You magically take that anger and use it to keep it going. John doesnt judge just likes to motivate. He has a sense of humor and once you get to know him you can get it out of him. You will hate life and wish evil things upon him. But in the end, he will make you better than you already are! He will have your back the whole way and respond to messages most of the time. When it comes to messages, you might have to give him a nudge every so often. Finally, if he tells you to workout until the bell rings, I hope you can go for awhile! He means well but my golly! My abs feel like they are going to fall off!

Im a veteran who got injured in Afghanistan and before I met John I had accepted that I wouldnt be running or physically training anymore which was a large part of my self confidence and lifestyle. Closing in on my 6 week challenge with John Welborn Fitness (JWF) and Staff. Ive met some amazing people over these 6 weeks and appreciate the kick start of living a healthier lifestyle and doing some exercises which I thought Id never be able to do. The gym is small but effective; John and the Staff push you but modify the stretch or exercise to your limitations. If youre local and looking for a quick start way to getting healthier, highly recommend JWF. You get to work out with all types of people of different ages and backgrounds. However, one concerning issue was when clients were allowed to bring their children which in my opinion is not safe or they may have brought a friend which can seem like an audience. Be prepared to post your measurements on a board for all to see. You also will be using equipment in a circuit fashion, so if you go after the person with heavy sweat...be prepared. If any of this makes you uncomfortable, dont sign up or ask for one on one sessions. Read your contract, ask questions and know what you are signing. John and Matt are very knowledgeable and will challenge you to do things you didnt think you could. But YOU have to work at it and make the right decisions for YOU. If youre ready to commit to YOU, then sign on the dotted line and get it DONE.

Where to even start?! Well I met John through my nutritionist that I had only been working with a couple weeks. I went to an open gym for free that John was putting on; I had every excuse not to go, but I pushed myself and went. Best decision I have ever made!! I have done so many fad workouts, diets, worked with a few trainers, but nothing has compared to the knowledge and passion that John has for health, fitness and especially his clients!! Now why did it stick this time and not the others, especially when my biggest excuse is being a single parent who cant get to the gym? I whole heartedly believe that John has played a huge part in why Im not quitting and have stomped on all my excuses! Im only about two months in, but I still get excited daily for my workouts and wonder what hes got up his sleeve next! Just when you think the workouts cant push you any farther, oh you just wait!! I still look at John sometimes like hes nuts if he thinks I can lift that much weight with one arm or do a certain exercise. But ever since I have put my full trust in him with my fitness journey and goals, I believe more in myself and dont question him anymore (still give him crazy looks of course though lol). He will not let you give up on yourself or validate any of your illegitimate excuses! My biggest excuse is not being able to get to the gym because Im a single parent who is unable to go with me. Well John squashed that excuse fast and allows my son to come with me! Which made my mama heart smile as now my son gets to be apart of my motivation and lifestyle. John is one of the most positive and motivational people I have met in my life. He remembers all the little things about his clients and caters to each one of us during a group workout so that we each get the most out of it while making sure any previous injuries we may have are not injured further. And the positive encouragement and feedback each one of us receives during the workouts, just pushes us all to keep going and to not stop even when our mind is trying to convince us otherwise. Im not sure where Im at after two months as Im not doing a weigh in or measurements for another week (will update), but I can tell yall this: my clothes fit better, Im happier, Im more positive towards life and myself, Im more motivated than ever to reach my goals and stick with em, and have found the best fit fam that God could have ever blessed me with! Thanks Coach John! Words will never be able to express how grateful I am for you and what you do!
