I am finally out of pain and its managed very well. The doctor is very kind and very through. I am impressed with him and Gabby. I trust them. Thats the truth. I would recommend him 100%.

I can’t say enough good about Dr.Akbik and his team. Two years ago I felt hopeless and helpless in regards of my unrelenting chronic pain. I had considered ending things. However, a nurse that worked for Dr.Akbik recommended that I go to see him.I did and soon began to feel hope where I had none previously. Dr.Akbik promised me that he would never give up until he found a solution.I have done everything that he suggested and he has minimized my pain as promised.Mandy, Gabbie, Gemma, Diane have been a blessing and no small part in allowing me to feel hopeful again.If you’re searching for a competent, capable and extremely talented physician you can only benefit from seeing Dr.Akbik. All you have to lose is your pain.

Im 6ft4in,310lbs,just big.. Ive a very bad back it happened in the military when I was young now Im older much older my back is shot had surgery x4 just on back,been on same meds for 20+yr this doctor is going route of pain pump Im scared but very excited the office is very nice clean updated comfy chairs they treated me very nice and thank you so much for that

The doctor was rude.My appointment was to discuss what I was looking to do.Nothing was prescribed no treatment was done. The doctor didnt even touch me.It was only a consultation.They charged me $500$481.00 for consultation.This is robbery..

All I can say is if youre looking for the best hes the best, very caring and treats you like your a person who really needs his help, hes there to help you, couldnt ask for a better pain Dr, and trust me Ive been searching for 21 years and finally I found a Dr that wants to help me, thank you Dr Akbik, I drive a hour and 20 minutes to go see him so that should tell you something about him.

This is the most caring and special doctor that you will ever meet. No matter how far the drive I will never see anyone else. He is truly a special man.

The most condescending office staff I have ever dealt with in all of my life. From the referral call , to scheduling and overall disdain displayed by these people face to face is simply sad. Complete power trip in display. I will tell everyone I know. Even worse is I never even made it to the doctor himself and he probably doesnt know how awful they treat people.

Dr Akbik is kind, caring, and compassionate. A skilled surgeon and genuinely concerned for his patients quality of life. So glad I found him to help manage my chronic pain (idiopathic painful sensory and autonomic peripheral polyneuropathy and CRPS).

Trying to get more and more and more money from patients. As a new patient I have paid $1000.00 and they have tried to get $600.00 for a urine test. They tried to say I had previous balance, which I paid everything at each visit. Then tried to say I had two urine tests, but I only gave one specimen. Tried telling me that if I had insurance they would have paid it. How many of you gave insurance that is going billed twice for one specimen? I argued with the office manager then went in and apologized for my behavior and said I wanted to pay everything I owed. I paid them and today got another bill. That is going too far. Moe money moe money. Not from me.

This was the worst doctors office ever. Very unprofessional and poor patient care. From the staff at the front desk to the medical team. The are not following HIPAA policy nor OSHA! I will definitely be reporting them. I am NP and the experience here was horrible!! Please be careful especially with this office not following safety policy for their patient. If I could give this the practice NO Stars I would have.

Dr. Akbik is amazing! I have chronic back pain and couldn’t manage the pain day to day until I started my regiment at Cincinnati Comprehension Pain Center. The office is such a welcoming environment and they provide great care!

The wait in the waiting room is better but still too long. I was VERY SORRY TO SEE JULIE LEAVE. I am sure i will come to appreciate Mandy just as much. The all new staff is hard to know when they do not wear name tags. Really wish they did. The medical treatment i have received has been great.

Amanda Duffy Nurse Practitioner is amazing. She always takes the time to listen to me. No matter how long it takes. She makes me feel comfortable, and understood. Please dont listen to the negative reviews. Its real simple be honest, and follow the rules of the contract. I couldnt ask for better pain management providers. ❤

I’ve been with Dr. Akbik’s since he was at Mercy Fairfield. I’ve never ever had an issue with him and the one time I did we sat down and talked about it and it was resolved. Not only is he a nice man, he’s an awesome doctor he’s humble and he knows how to really care for his patience. His staff is awesome, although I’ve seen some come and go, there’s never been an issue with anyone there. They are professional and respectful and if you need a pain doctor this is where you should go. Now I must warn you he does not put up with foolishness so if you have a bad track record from previous pain doctors, because your records do follow, you might want to look elsewhere. I love Dr. Akbik, my wife loves him and my children do as well. Cincinnati comprehensive pain center is the place you need to be.

Completely Rude and Judgemental Staff and while Dr. Akbik seems Caring its the Others on the Team that make the entire Experience very Detrimental. From being Questioned about a Military Shirt by a NP to attempts to charge Outrageous and Unjustified Fees this is a Classic Example of Why Pain Mgmt in Ohio is Ranked among the Worse in the Nation.Also that instead of Patients the Office Staff views Everyone as Customers and those with Cash Co-Pays or Private Insurance are Prioritized over those on Medicaid. Ive dealt with Chronic and Acute Pain over Half of My Life and for those Needing Help I would Not Recommend by any means.

Dr. Akbik is the absolute best! Kind,caring,professional,and friendly. And it goes without say that his skills are epic! I trust my life with him.

Running a little behind for the procedure, but its only because if you have a question, hell stop & take the time to chat. . So if he does it with everyone, time gets away. .2 days later, feeling pretty good

Dr. Akbik, Jack, Ashley, and the whole staff are amazing!! Dr. Akbik has been instrumental in saving me from chronic pain. He is kind, loving, and my favorite Dr. to go to!! Jack recently was extremely helpful by switching me to another short term pain medication. He listened to me all the way through and worked with me till we found the right fit. It’s the first time in my life I’ve been without extreme pain!! This group is amazing and I highly recommend them!!

Let me preface this review by saying that I have been in the medical field for over 18 years prior to being referred here for a back injury. Upon arriving here the staff (which is very young) was very rude and uncooperative with patients, not to mention arguing with other patients in the waiting room that you can obviously tell were severely injured. The provider, although he is very competent in his field, prescribed medicine that did not work, which you have to try out for at least 3-4 weeks. The problem was that even though my insurance covered everything and there were no out of pocket costs they were billing my insurance for a new drug at over $700 per visit just for medication. Now, the medication didnt work, so the next option was epidurals and while some receive pain relief most dont, especially for long periods of time. Those run anywhere from $2,000-$3,000 per injection, once again perpetuating the scam of pain clinics. I left there never to return but when I was leaving Cincinnati I needed a copy of my records and after only being seen 3 times and waiting days for them to print a few pages the young girl at the front desk told me it was a $41 charge for them printing them, same as if they faxed them. Maybe the paper that they use for printing is imported from Japan and the ink is a special ink used possibly used to sign the declaration of independence or something but it wasnt worth paying $41 for a few pages, especially when the treatments did nothing to help my issue. It is apparent that they have to keep the money making machine going. Do yourself a favor and find another pain clinic. The headache you will get from the rude staff and lack of medical treatment for your injury isnt worth the time or the money. I am also active duty military, which just goes to show you how they treat people here.

I was in pain all ready seiing the so called pain specialist. I spent 8 days in the hospital from pain. Called the pain clinic the first day and never got a return call.I was in agony!! Screaming and no one cared. Good job! DOCTOR OF THE YEAR? Yea right. No stars!!!

Dr Akbik has been my Doctor for over 2 years. I have CRPS. Ive had it almost 15 years. He gave me better pain relief on less medication than I ever had before. And now he has given me the ability to be able to do therapy and Im my way to walking that I havent done in almost 4 years. On no medication! He is a fabulous Doctor. Hes very up to date on everything!

I love my doctors and nurses here, if you all new what has happened to me youd say shes telling the truth because I was hurt by.Dr.Durrani and Dr.Abic and Phyician asst. Julie Lantern are awesome ..so are all the nurses there...

At one time I would have given the practice 5 stars. But, I have not had the best care here in the last 3 months. Im so very sorry to see JULIE go. The total transition of all new people has really made dealing with care here very difficult. Dr. Akbik is amazing but I think the practice has grown beyond his ability to give the care he once provided. In saying that I wish his practice well but Im leaving the practice after 7 years. They dont call back, procedures arent followed through like before, . wait times are excessive, appointment times get mixed up, the appointments are rushed thru, Ireally think it has taken a decline in care.

The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Akbik and associates listen and are concerned about helping you to alleviate pain. Im pleased with all aspects of Cincinnati Comprehensive Pain Center!

I HAVE SEEN DR. AKBIK FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW AND I THINK HE IS THE GREATEST! HE TAKES TIME TO LISTEN AND ANSWER QUESTIONS. HE TRULY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. HE IS VERY NICE AND SOMETIMES VERY FUNNY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO HIM. HIS OFFICE IS VERY CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL AND HAS AN AWESOME STAFF.

Dr. Akbik is a good doctor if you are willing to take shots in your back. He is not mean but doesnt have much of a bedside manner. He doesnt look at you much, he just looks at the computer and talks. Hurry in, hurry out. I would recommend him if you are willing to have shots but not if you need real pain medicines.

Dr. Akbik and his staff have done a fantastic job in managing my pain.Before seeing Drive Akbik I had had 2 prior Epidural Steroid injects that didnt work.I suffering from sleep deprivation due to the pain even with pain medication Dr. Akbik gave me 2 injections during my first procedure that I could feel working before I was off the table.The offices are clean and my NP Amanda is caring and understanding if you follow your contract.

This place is a joke! My advice to you is to find a real doctor one that will listen! He said Im too young to be put on pain medication that I should just take Tylenol. I need 3 surgeries on my stomach, two on my knees, not to mention my back. And he didnt find out any of this information my new doctor did. He was willing to do any kind of expensive injection or run any kind of expensive test however he didnt want to give me anything for pain to fix the problem I was having right then. When I was speaking to a nurse about the Google reviews she said that the only bad reviews they get are from drug Seekers. Well Im giving a bad review and Im not a drug seeker Im a person in need of a pain doctor in if he doesnt want to give pain medicine he needs to find a new career. While I was sitting in the waiting room I was speaking to a woman and she said that he wouldnt give her daughter anything for pain and she just had to back surgeries because she was young. So apparently you have to be 60 or above to get any kind of pain medicine from this doctor. That or hes just too lazy to find out whats wrong with you and actually try to help. I always thought Dr were supposed to First Do no harm... Well I think its very harmful to ignore a patient when theyre telling you that theyre in excruciating pain! So do yourself a favor and find a good doctor because hes definitely not one of them! My opinion is he shouldnt be a doctor at all maybe an herbal specialist!

After suffering for a year, my neurologist sent me to Dr Akbik because she was unable to block the pain with Botox. Dr Akbik and Julie Lanter knew exactly what the problem was and treated me immediately without medication. Where would I be without them?Both are busy as they have lots of patients (as evidenced by the waiting room), but I engaged both in conversation and found them both to be very kind & compassionate. Dr Akbik has a sweet sense of humor too!

The office staff are degrading and mean and treat you like you just want opiates when you have true health issues. I waited 2 months for my appointment, got stuck in traffic and they told me they wouldnt accommodate me. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

It has been a difficult time being in pain and they listen to me about all my problems. They work with me to try and get relief for all my physical problems and lead me in a direction to make things better. Dr. Akbik and his staff are there for any questions or concerns I might have. I just wish they had a way to see my test results on line like a my chart.

His bed side manner is different then any Doctor i have ever meet but one of main reasons i like him. He doesnt blow smoke up your butt. If you reall need help he will help, even told me if i was to travel he would find a doctor in my area who could help me. He removed a painful stich the nurse couldnt get and i didnt feel it. I absolutely cant say enough good things about this Doctor. He is one of my favorites because he cares about his patients. He works with you and goes above and beyond any doctor i have ever meet.

I am 80 years old grandmother I was referred to this pain clinic by my primary dr for pain since my primary Dr is unable to prescribe pain medication that I have been taking for over 20 years. Upon going to this clinic they did injection in one of my knees I am totally disabled and have many medical records supporting my numerous reason for needing pain medication. They drug tested me by saliva and by urine first time I visited they said I was positive for Valium. I have never taken a Valium in my life. They would not prescribe me anything at that visit and then did the test again had me wait two weeks and when I came in they took me into a room and said I’m now positive for nicotine, Valium and COCAINE!!!! I am 80 years old and never in my life taken anything of the sort. I am not even a smoker . I asked for a copy of the report they would only give to me. When I was falsely accused of doing something I know I have never done. The nurse said many people do drugs an dont admit to it and shrugged her shoulders. I have a pace maker in my heart , there is no way it’s even possible I’d be on cocaine !!! To be this old and accused of something so far fetched is beyond me. I really feel they just didn’t want to prescribe me medication they’d rather keep doing injections in my knees which they offered to still do even though I am supposed positive for all these drugs. This must be where they probably make the most money. I am calling my primary dr tomo to do his own testing on me. This place is a fraud.

If there was a zero star Id give that. Dr. Akbik is easily a self centered person. Arrogance as soon as he walks in the room. Not only will he not help me, but he lied saying I would have an answer without coming in for an appointment within a day. Now I have to pay another $50 co-pay, and wait three weeks to get the answer I was promised?! Complete idiot. F M*ch*gan too

As a former patient of Dr Akbiks, at his newest location the staff are indifferent so you may wish to go elsewhere, at least until his staffing issues are resolved. I second the impression The office staff are degrading and mean and treat you like you just want opiates.

Dr Akbik is one of the most skilled interventional pain management specialists in the country. I have a very rare neurological condition. Most docs run away from it. Dr Akbik ran towards me. Id be lost without him.

I could write a book about my (less than one year) experience with this place, which ended last year. Great place to go if you only like/need injections, referrals & variations of prescriptions from drug classes that just dont work for you (I offered a copy of my genetic testing results for meds & it was turned down on numerous occasions). Oh, and its also a great place to go if your pain isnt hard enough on you but then you like having to see a snarky & rude Physicians Assistance (Julie Ann Lanter). Im not bitter they showed me the door (I filled a Vicodin prescription I got from the ER because I was in pain from an acute health issue. Id called & told them BEFORE taking ANY of it. They waited several months after I took the med in order to waste my time & insurance dollars before kicking me out), Im disappointed I had unrealistic expectations of receiving compassion, respect & pain relief. First do no harm..

Listens to you and does his best to relieve your pain. Staff is so nice.

My wife was sent here on recommendations from River Hills Neuroscience when they stopped taking out insurance.Over all not bad I suppose but theres room for improvement.

Dr. Akbik is an amazing Dr. Who i miss seeing terribly. I moved to the Dayton area and no one holds a candle to Dr. Akbik. Thinking about making the 2 hour drive just to see him again.
