I have accompanied both of my senior parents to CEC over the past year for their Macular Degeneration. The one who has wet was diagnosed 7 months ago and Dr. Gauthiers injections have reversed the MD. The one who has dry however is very advanced MD, and therefore is not much they can do, and was even referred by Dr Crossan to the NIH. BOTH doctors have a wonderful warm bedside manner. All staff are helpful and kind.

Never going back. Was a patient for a couple years and staff service and wait times increasingly got worse. No friendliness, no professionalism.

Had an appointment at 10 AM for a cataract surgery. There were about 10 patients in the waiting room (chairs are very comfortable). Was taken in shortly after 10. The tests ran smoothly, no waiting, except for the eye dilation. Left the office around 11:45. The staff/doctors answer all questions, I did not feel to be rushed. A very positive experience, a very efficient and friendly office.

Oh my gosh, I cannot get over the experience my friend had with the capital eye consultants office. My friend had eye surgery, they billed her and after she cleared her insurance she mailed in a complete check to this office. To her shock, her check was returned because the office manager - Leigh Ann Crouse wants her to add attorney fees and late payment. I feel this is an intimidation and extortion of money - clearly not a way to treat your patients! Honestly I would have given a Zero star to this office if there’s one. Horrible!!

It is the slowest doctors office I have ever been in! They obviously over book the patients, I assume in an attempt to make as much money as possible. Everyone is nice and polite and they did a great job with my mother in-laws eye surgery. However, the patient experience is horrible because each visit takes about two hours. Which is mostly comprised of just sitting around waiting for the doctor.

Great atmosphere and busy at times, however, you won’t leave here without fully understanding your diagnosis! Staff and doctors are wonderful!!

I wish to God I could put in zero stars. But all I can do now is warn people. First of all I am still happy with the work that Dr. Baldinger performed. But a doctors staff can make or break a practice. We sent in a payment a month ago (and BTW I was just told by the HSA provider to NEVER send a debit card number though the mail). Other payments sent that day were processed, and previous payments to CEC using the same HSA card went though. To my shock and deep embarrassment, I just got a dunning letter from an attorney for the amount we sent in plus interest and attorneys fees. Im going to assume that it was either not processed or lost in the mail. When I spoke to the office manager she made it very clear that its my fault, its my problem, and no - theyre not going to help in any way. It would appears that sending in a payments not enough - you have to make sure a company processes it.

I concur with other reviewers that they overbook, and when you arrive, ahead of appointment time, you are often kept waiting for 15-20 minutes past appointment with no communication from the front desk. Patients time is valuable, too! Then I got a call to reschedule my appointment because the doctors had a morning meeting, when I dont SEE a doctor, just a tech running a machine. But my biggest gripe is, I got a scrip for 2 specialized eye tests that together take under 25 minutes. I was told that the insurance company makes them schedule two separate office visits. This makes no logical sense, why would the insurance company want to pay double? It seems more logical that the practice wants to maximize its income at the expense of patients with HDHPs who have to pay double. Not nice. Next time I get these scrips I will seek out another practice that can schedule the two BRIEF tests in one visit.

I took my mom in law for cataract surgery consulting at Capital Eye. Be aware they will cancel your appointments anytime!! You will not believe that our two appointments were cancelled two times in 2 months before/after the surgery. The first time was canceled earlier so I was able to rearrange it. They said they were short of Dr. (Ok, this was the first time cancellation, I am ok with it. I did not know there is second cancellation coming!)The second time was canceled two days before the appointment on 10/11, and they said Drs schedule got conflict???? I booked it 3 weeks ago, and they called and left a message 2 days before the appointment. I actually dont hear the voice message until I was almost pick up my mom in law from her place before the 10/11 appointment.Good to see this is a busy place, but very bad experience to see they dont honor patients time but just follow their own time. They told me they did/and will send text message reminder, but I only received text for the first two time, and yes, I received text for 8/13 which was canceled and 9/20 for second time as follow up after surgery. And then no more reminder after that. And you know what? tomorrow will be our 3rd time appointment with Capital Eye. I dont think it should happen that 2/3 of your appointment were cancelled just because of Drs schedule got conflict. They should improve their administration system. But Fairfax Surgical Center was great, mom recovered pretty well.
