Unfortunately for me, I am a repeat customer. Lol. After an auto accident, I required a knee orthoscopic and a spinal procedure after exhaustion all other options.Dr Robin Madsen, You are the greatest! Without that intervention, I would still be limping and having other issues due to the serverity of my limp.I also had an extruded disc repaired by Dr. Pryor. Both surgeries within a month of each other. A very delicate procedure. I am grateful it seems to have helped me. Thank you Doctor Pryor! My distinct impression is that if they think they can help you with a medical procedure, they will. And if they cannot, they won’t. (First, do no harm, right?). They are all professionals in their field, so trust and follow their advice. That’s what we pay them for! If they tell you to exercise and loose weight to help yourself, don’t get bent! Try! Every Lb. you lose is one less beating on your feet, knees and hips. If I need a hug, I will call my mom. LOLI cannot thank them, and their professional caring staff, enough for the care I received. Nobody wants to require their care, but I got exactly what I needed, and it’s made A big difference in my quality of life.If you need an orthopedic repair, I am truly sorry. But the professional caring staff at Everett Bone And Joint will do their best to get you as close to fixed as medically possible.

Probably, by FAR, the worst Ortho office Ive ever been to. These people CONSTANTLY lie to the patients, saying they submitted requests for tests though they have not, and then, if you express any sort of frustrations with them, they actually get mad AT YOU and claim youre being rude to the staff. Im now going on month number 3 waiting for an MRI on my ankle. Also, the doctors have NO CONCERNS whatsoever if you are in pain and will only give you something to alleviate the pain if you agree to let them cut on you and do surgery. I highly recommend finding another Ortho if youre in need of one.

PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO DR. BARKER. I do not normally leave reviews when I have received bad business but I am thoroughly disappointed in the way I was treated by Dr. Barker at this EBJ location. PLEASE if anyone was referred to see Dr. Barker please read this review. I have been suffering with chronic knee pain for a few years and was scheduled to have knee surgery at a different ortho clinic but was wanting to get a second opinion which is how I was referred to Dr. Barker. I had waited almost an hour after my appointment time to see him which to me is not that big of a deal as I have worked in plenty of doctors offices and am aware that things can get behind so I was not off put by that. what I was off put by was the first thing he asked when he came in was Have you gained or lost weight? I proceeded to let him know over the past few months I have gained weight. nothing significant maybe 5 or 10 lbs. he proceeded to say BOOOO very loudly. I am a 25 yo female who is in no way at a weight that is concerning. I also have suffered many years of eating disorders and have been hospitalized and gone through therapy because of these disorders. I have worked VERY hard to be at a healthy weight. He told me that there was nothing he could do for me for my chronic knee pain and arthritis other than for me to lose weight. As this is a sore subject I became upset and started to cry told him that my weight is NOT the issue as I have have these same knee problems when I weighed less than I do currently. He asked why I was upset he could at least tell me what was wrong with my knee and that I needed to lose weight. Although we had just reviewed my knee xray and went over what was wrong with my knee and explaining i am in too much pain to workout or even go up some simple set of stairs, I felt like there was no point in arguing and just agreed. He then sent me home with a list of things I can do to help my knee arthritis including GET SKINNIER :) Now my eating disorder is not Dr. Barkers responsibility. But I went to him for a second opinion on a knee surgery and his response was to GET SKINNIER not tips on how to get your knee healthier and then maybe in the future surgery or a physical therapy referral or anything. As a doctor i expect to have someone I trust and someone that will do their best to find out ways to help me get better but this interaction did nothing but damage my mental health. I gave Dr. Barker the benefit of the doubt and went to my primary doctor and told him of my interaction and asked if i needed to lose weight. He ran blood tests and said I was a perfectly healthy 25 year old girl and he would not encourage me to lose weight for a particular health reason further confirming my interaction with Dr. Barker being completely unnecessary. If you or someone you know has been referred to Dr. Barker please take my interaction with him into consideration before seeing him. He is a doctor...he is suppose to help your issues not create more. I have added a picture of my lovely plan he sent me home with to GET SKINNIER:) so that you can look at it and decide if thats the kind of solution your looking for for your ortho issues. (On the other side of the note was some supplements I can try as well on top of losing weight)

Due to having too much fun outdoors, and getting older, I have been to Everett Bone and Joint several times. I have seen Dr. Barker for everything from a broken ankle to a shoulder that won’t work anymore. Dr. Barker is a delight, really seems to care, and will explain what’s going on in an easy to understand and remember way. He will tell you exactly what’s going on, and at the same time exhibit empathy and caring, so as to make it all seem survivable. His relaxing manner even made getting cortisone shot in the shoulder (not fun), a survivable event. And this is from someone who just can’t handle needles. Beside my visits, my wife has been there for her knee and back. My son has been there after breaking his hand mountain biking, and wrecking his shoulder snowboarding. (Runs in the family?) Even my mom has been there to repair her ankle after breaking it. We all have received good treatment from the doctors and staff there, and recommend to anybody who can’t seem to keep their limbs intact!

I had been having issues with my knee so I decided to go back to Everett Bone & Joint for a specialist consultation. I visited this clinic a couple years ago when I broke my ankle and Dr. Barker was great to work with. He went through my X-ray with me and explained my treatment options and his recommendations. I appreciated that he spoke to me so I understood without making me feel like he was talking to a child. I was not disappointed this time either. Dr. Barker diagnosed the issue and gave me the appropriate information to consider. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable with my options and allowed me to ask questions while I considered them. I was treated well by the staff. From scheduling appointments, checking in, the eventual surgery, and follow ups I worked with several people who were all friendly and professional. I recommend the clinic and I have told people I know to go see Dr. Barker.

Horrible experience. Dr. Barker is an absolute joke. He made fun of the radiologist to me, after I had another doctor and the radiologist saying there was a tear he couldn’t find it, didn’t know how to do basic things on the computer, called radiology finally found the tear. In a previous visit he ignored the fluid that was found in an X-ray, I had to directly say I could see it as I am a med student. I was sent off with a “find a job where you don’t have to stand”. No follow up tests, no care that I’m in pain, just “find a job where you don’t have to stand” horribly unprofessional would NEVER again would never recommend it. I have had nothing but positive experiences with 2 different doctors at EBJ. Dr. Barker and Dr. Pryor. They are professional, and not willing to just cut first to solve a problem. They will exhaust all other possible treatments first, and only do surgery if needed. They arent pill pushers either and wont just write prescriptions because it hurts. They treat you like a patient, and not a customer. If you want to get fixed properly, professionally, to the point, and get the truth, then go to EBJ. If you want pills, the run around, unnecessary multiple to the doctor, and quick band-aid fixes, then EBJ is not for you.

He also knows something is wrong with my TFCC tendon but my insurance company would not let him do exploratory surgery to find out what’s wrong. I do not understand insurance companies these days. Dr Nowak has now operated on both of my kids for hip labral tears and they have both done great. They are both back to playing sports and very happy. No question, he is blunt. He does not sugarcoat things. He just tells you like it is. If you are looking for a touchy feely doctor, he is not your person. But remember, you are looking for a surgeon, not a shrink. If you are looking for an excellent hip arthroscopy surgeon who explains things extremely well and makes sure you understand what to expect from surgery, he is great. My family is very grateful for Dr Nowaks surgical skill and fully trust him. I highly recommend him if you have a torn labrum and need hip arthroscopic surgery. He seems very invested in the recovery of his patients. Ive been dealing with this for over 2 years and I already knew I needed surgery, I just wanted to find a good surgeon and we recently moved to the area. My PCP recommended EB&J. Dr. Nowak and his staff have been amazing through this process. Got an initial appt really fast, they did FMLA paperwork really fast, surgery scheduled in a timely manner, and follow up scheduled before I had surgery. Theyve answered every question, listened, and never made me feel rushed. The packet they provide with instructions for surgery, what to do before, during, and after, is SO helpful! I refer to it all the time. Ive never seen any surgeon do this. Such a good idea! The day of surgery, Ive never seen such efficiency! They were a well oiled machine! I went back right away. In surgery on time and out as fast as able. Recovery so far has been normal, already received calls from the nurse and Dr. Nowak. Id definitely recommend Dr. Nowak and his team. Im very impressed. However, I also work in medical and I can tell you, if one of our patients called in saying they were in a car accident and could have possibly injured the same body part the Doctor did surgery on, we would have worked them in to see their Doctor. Not make them wait almost 2 weeks. Most of the Doctors at EBJ seem to only be interested in getting their money. The receptionists are very nice and welcoming, however, I will say this, if you are looking for a orthopedic doctor who will listen to you and that cares about you as a patient.... Went to this doctor AFTER having an MRI already done because my old doctor retired. I already knew that I needed a third surgery for my knee because my old doctor told me and the MRI clearly showed a large tear. I saw the doctor here and he was very nice and confirmed what I knew. The surgery request was sent through my insurance and WEEKS later I found out the insurance company denied it because they have a rule that I have to see the same doctor twice is what I was told. When they called and told me that I scheduled it right away for a month out to put time between the appointments. I went in for my second appointment. But when the doctor came in he didnt even know why I was there... he said he had thought we had already decided on surgery. I had to bring him in the loop of what was going on with the insurance. I asked him if I could do the surgery asap because the pain was getting a lot worse. He said he couldnt do it the next week but could the week after. He checked his schedule and said that he has room on the 8th and that will give them time to get all the insurance stuff taken care of. I still didnt receive a call from anyone and I am supposed to have surgery in 4 days. I called them and talked to the RUDEST woman that said that the insurance denied it again. I asked her why and she said because I havent seen the doctor more than one time. I explained to her that I did and she said... yeah that is weird. I called the insurance myself and found out that it was because the wrong verbiage was used on the pre-sugery request (gotta just love insurance jerks) and that the doctor just needed to call and verify some things. So I called her back at the doctors office and told her what they said and asked her to have the doc call right away. She was very rude again and said that he was busy but she would ask him to call but that it might not be until Monday. I told her that I had already scheduled time off of work for my surgery and that I needed to know if that wasnt going to happen now. She told me that I was not even on the schedule for surgery on Tuesday! She said that the doctor mis-spoke and that I didnt understand what he was saying and that I needed to wait for the insurance to come through before I was officially scheduled. I told her that I was upset because this has been two weeks now and why did I just learn about this today. She said because she doesnt call insurance companies everyday to check on the status and that this is a process. So she requested this days after my second appointment and than waited almost 2 business weeks to check on the status but I am the one that is not being patient!!! Seriously!! Has this woman never heard of customer service in her life!!! She messed up and dropped the ball and than gets rude with ME about it! I know that my knee pain doesnt keep her up at night... but it does keep me up ...literally!I really like the doctor that I saw but if I had to start all over again I would for SURE have gone somewhere else. These doctors need to take a long hard look at the staff that they have representing them and determine if that is the kind of patient care they want to be giving. If someone make a mistake that happens but it is all about what they do after that mistake. I should have received an apology for the ball being dropped and she should have done EVERYTHING in her power to try and make it right.I dont want to have to start over with a doctor because I am in a lot of pain and I just want this behind me but come on... or in the words of a wise president... come on man!Think twice before you make your appointment. You can have the best doctor in the world but does that make up for the hell the staff will put you through getting to the end result of being out of pain?

This organization is so unprofessional . I went there after a 2 weeks of walking on a bad knee, had MRI done and made sure treatment would happen at appt as i work in nursing and know the system. I will be reporting Ashley for the violation. I get to the back to only be asked repetively the same questions i just answered on the paperwork in waiting area. Then Doc comes in and is a complete CLOWN. Scrabbling for words to justify his staffs behaviors and he sits there looking quite foolish as his staff did not have proper MRI slides, etc So i will be contacted multiple outside agencies to report this facility and hopefully this place will be forced to act in a professional manner and not violate there pts privacy. My family saw two of EBJ surgeons in 2015:1. Dr Kenneth Lin at Evergreen Monroe when my teen son broke his femur and had to have surgery to place a rod and pins, as well as again having Dr. Lin as our chosen Dr to remove the same rod & pins after the femur had filled in sufficiently. He was pleasant, reassuring, and to the point.2. Dr Douglas Nowak at the EBJ Surgery Center took care of my teen daughters FAI/torn labrum hip surgery. At the consultation, he did not push surgery as the only option, in fact, he presented quite a few. Some months later, we chose surgery and were pleased with the EBJ Surgery Centers care and concern for a nervous teenager. I was also impressed to hear from repeat patients in the lobby as I was waiting for my daughter - people that has one knee worked on, then returned to have the other cleaned up.Appointments were easy to arrange for both Doctors, follow up care was clear, and Dr Nowaks written surgery packet with PT protocol was impressive. Both Doctors and their PAs were open to all the questions both my daughter and I threw at them, without making us feel like we were bothering them. I am picky about the medical care my family receives, and so far, EBJ has passed all the tests.

Have visited the clinic multiple times, being active in sports, and working construction, after retiring from public school teaching. Having many MDs in the family, brother, uncle, cousin, I speak with some knowledge of the field, background, bedside manner, and training of the said physicians.Buyer Beware: Is this a fraternity?Walking into the waiting room, and hearing everybody on their cell? Wheres the sign as i listen to the lady next to me talk about her daughters gynecology exam. Complains to the office manager, technician, etc. went unheeded. Message: Great customer reception.Dr. Kinahan: Saw him for a severe dislocated knuckle, couldnt bend. Endured six months PT. Kept seeing him. One year later, Im still in pain and no longer see him. You judge.Dr Mason; Bedside manner. Look at his photos. If it were only so for all of us. So whats his point? Anyway, he came in and made a 5 minute wrong diagnosis of my knee MRI, and if I listened could have followed up on knee replacement. NO big deal right?Wheres my $500 an hour, which is what these guys make? I know, Ive seen my brothers taxes.I work hard too, but Id be fired if I messed up with someones body. HmmmmmmmmmYou judge.Dr. Mason: Hurt shoulder during construction. Had MRI He walks into appt, wearing old chords, looking like casual Friday, not having looked at the MRI, or the Radiologists report. Doesnt have a clue whats the F, my case is about. Good feeling it gives me. Can you say This is my body. I knew you could. So he proceeds to talk about cutting open my shoulder by drawing on the paper on the paper on the bench. Finally reads the Radiologist report, which arrives 5 minutes late. Impressed. No alternative talked about other than cutting me open.Missing a boat payment here Dr. Mason?John Hopkins, Harvard, U of W Med. School? If only it were so.It does matter. So I walk out as he talking about a movie with a tech. I expect a minimum amount of professionalism from a Dr. when it comes to my body, and I didnt receive it. Appalling. Would they accept this from their doctor. I think not.Dr Kinahen: Only MD on staff with good bedside manner, and treats you with a personality What a shame. If the others were competent, I could excuse their lack of social skills, but they cant even claim that, just their high salaries. We all work hard. They just get paid more. Much more. I know. Theres much better out there. You only have one body. Driving is worth getting better treatment. From top to bottom, this is a sad group, and I would look elsewhere. Learn from others mistakes!
