If you’re on the fence, go for a consultation. They do excellent work at explaining the procedure and how it relates to your specific situation. I’m almost 6 months out from my procedure and my vision just keeps getting better. I had severe astigmatism and I now have almost perfect vision in both eyes. I wish I’d been able to do it years ago but it’s never too late and they have different options for payment. It’s so much better being active outside now, but even reading a book is more pleasurable. Also, the doctor and his team really do care and it is apparent in their communication and everything that they do. Highly recommend watching the documentary about his volunteer work in Myanmar.

Amanda, Gina and Danielle were very caring and thorough throughout the entire experience. The procedure was quick and painless and I am so far enjoying the results! The team was available and very responsive to questions and provided plenty of time for me to learn about the process prior to surgery and I am looking forward to my final results as my eyes heal.Thank you!

I Love my new vision!!! I have always had very blurry vision early on in childhood. Its frustrating to wake up not being able to see, having to get contacts in or glasses on. After my eye surgury I now have better vision than I ever did when I had prescription lens. I have no complaints. I hope others make the choice to do this. The cost is well worth it!!! 😊

When I called to make an appointment to see about having Lasik surgery, the office was SO nice and accommodating. When I went in I was told that I was an excellent candidate and decided to go ahead with the procedure. After my procedure I had serious dry eye and blurriness which I was never told beforehand could be a possibility from having the procedure done.I went back to have post-op care and the attitude in the office was completely different than before I had my procedure; I was made to feel like I was bothering the staff and doctor. When I told the doctor that I was seeing blurry, he said that is impossible. I was also told that all my post-op care would be included in the $5000.+ procedure cost, so was quite surprised when I was charged an extra $300.+ for putting a plug in my eye to try and help with the dryness (which didnt help). After one more post-op appointment I decided to go to another eye doctor because I was made to feel bad for having a problem with my dry eye and blurriness. This attitude from the doctor and staff just felt really wrong to me.It has been over two years now and I still have blurriness in one eye.I most likely would not have had this procedure done had I been told of the possibility of dry eye and blurriness. My main reason for writing this review is to let people know that if you have any problems with this procedure at this location, chances are that you wont be treated well by this doctor and staff in your post-op.Reading other reviews on this site about people having problems has confirmed this as well.

I had Lasik on Monday and by day one I was seeing 20/15 and by day two I was seeing 20/10!! That is the best the human eye can see! I’m seriously so excited and thankful to Dr Haines that I can now go to the lake, beach, hike, or gym and not have to worry about my glasses breaking, getting lost, or falling off! I can officially go to the lake and wear sunglasses in the summertime without being blind!!!! I am stoked! Gina, Danielle, Amanda all such great and awesome chicks to make you feel comfortable and excited about your procedure! I would do it a million times over!

I was legally blind in one eye and ALMOST legally blind in the other. I had extreme farsightedness with astigmatism. I had been told over the years Lasik was not an option for me , my numbers were too bad. Etc, etcBUT, I knew technology changes fast so I made the phone call to Oregon iLasik. My over the phone numbers were bad that I almost didnt make the prescreening process but got in for an evaluation. I passed stage 1 as a candidate then saw Dr. Haines who was warm and comforting. He told me he could help me. I was thrilled. Surgery was the very next day. It was a piece of cake. My fears were unfounded. (Although I did choose to take the Valium). I went home took my nap. Woke up to near perfect vision already. This review is same day as my procedure and I have had no pain no issues and no longer need to stack my glasses because they were never strong enough. I dont know Danielles title but she was A-MAZ-ING! Gina always made a point to check on me and make me fell welcome. So sweet and seemed to genuinely care. Type of people you could see being friends with. Just all around GREAT staff. Nice facility. The preop massage was such a high end touch, the crew over at Oregon iLasik were beyond what I hoped. Thank you all for the best birthday ever and heres to 20/20 in 2020!See you soon!Shannon Laiblin

Ive been talking about Oregon iLasik to basically anyone who will listen. Great customer service, they walked me through everything and answered all of my questions and I felt very comfortable knowing Dr. Haines and his staff would be in charge of my eyes. Im a week post-iLasik now and only have minor blurriness in the mornings - every day gets more consistently clear and I am so happy I went through with the procedure! The only thing that could have made it better for me would have been a larger dose of Valium (things related to eyes are among my worst fears and Im 99% sure the 5mg pill had zero effect on me, my anxiety level was through the roof), but since patients need to be paying attention to things during the procedure Im guessing they cant give more than that.

From the very first call the entire process was made simple, clear and exercised with sincerity and love for their patients. The office was flexible with appointment setting and quick to answer any of my questions. The entire staff was so genuine and thoughtful and took every measure to provide the best care for my husband and I. Dr. Haines and Gina personally made a special trip to check on me after my surgery. Not only do I live way out of town, it was also late in the evening. You just dont find care like this anywhere. They went above and beyond every time I contacted them about anything. Thank you so much Dr. Haines, Gina, Amanda and Danielle for all your love! We love you Oregon iLASIK and Refractive! We also appreciate Dr. Haines and the service work he does with the Give Me Sight Foundation. If you are looking for the best care then you have found it!

In June 2018 I met with Dr. Haines to determine if I’m a good candidate for iLasik surgery. I understood going in that I’d be charged for the exam if I decided not to have the surgery. As I either needed the surgery or a new pair of glasses, that seemed reasonable. After discussing the benefits, limitations, and potential risks of the surgery, I told Dr. Haines that I’d like to try progressive lenses for a year and then reevaluate. I paid $400 for the exam and asked them to send my new prescription to the optical center I’ve used for years. When I picked up my new progressive glasses I was told it could take a month or so to adjust. After numerous headaches, I returned the glasses and asked that they be made into bifocals. When I picked those up I instantly realized that the problem wasn’t my inability to adjust to progressive lenses, but that my prescription was off. I scheduled an eye exam with that company and they verified that the prescription I received from Oregon ilasik was incorrect.I contacted Oregon ilasik to request a refund because $400 is a considerable amount to pay for an incorrect prescription. Gina Widoff, the surgery coordinator, explained that she couldn’t offer a refund, but that the cost of the exam could be deducted from the cost of the surgery. I explained that I’m not comfortable having surgery after being unable to receive a correct prescription for glasses. She then said I could schedule an appointment to speak with Dr. Haines about my concerns. A few weeks after scheduling an appointment with Dr. Haines to discuss the matter, Ms. Widoff contacted me to reschedule because Dr. Haines was going to be out of town at that time. On the day of my appointment I met with Ms. Widoff, but wasn’t given any time with Dr. Haines. She compared the prescription they created for me with the one I received from the other company to confirm that they were different, and she verified that the second opinion prescription was correct. She apologized for the inconvenience and expressed regret that I didn’t come back to see them for a new prescription when it became obvious that there was a problem. I asked if she would have refunded my money at that time and she said no. I think its safe to say that there is no actual path to receiving a refund and that she had no intention of ever allowing me to speak with Dr. Haines (he was in surgery during our scheduled appointment). To suggest that my concerns could be addressed through a meeting with him feels both inconsiderate and unethical, not to mention that it wasted another hour of my time. So, I’m out $400, it took several months to figure out what the problem was and to finally receive a pair of glasses I could use, and I haven’t been treated particularly well. I have no idea if Dr. Haines is even aware that a problem exists because I only saw Ms. Widoff during my “appoint with Dr. Haines”.2/14/19 Update: For those considering scheduling an appointment with iLasik I’d like to respond to their comment about the complimentary office visit. That appointment is with Gina Widoff, the surgery coordinator, not Dr. Haines. If you want to ask questions about the risks associated with the surgery, the % of patients who experience dry eye, double vision, etc. you need to make an appointment with Dr. Haines. The cost for that information is $400.Additionally, I should note that when I left my visit with Dr. Haines I explained that I wanted to try progressive glasses before making a decision about surgery and was told they would be happy to send the information from that visit to the optical center I use. I was not told “Vision changes occur when eyes are dilated and prescriptions should be rechecked with the eyes un-dilated prior to filling a prescription for glasses.”3/15/19 Update: This matter has been resolved. On 3/6 I was contacted by Mr. Classen, Founder of Arrow Northwest, a marketing agency. He stated he represents iLasik & that Dr. Haines would like to issue a refund. I’ve received a refund & am satisfied with the outcome.

I did lots of research in the area before I got my surgery done, and have specifically waited several months before offering my full review to ensure I could give a review of the entire process. From the get-go, the office staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. After the first visit, they all knew me by name and knew exactly who I was when I called in. The office is incredibly flexible with appointments, and is willing to work around your schedule. After I went in for my consultation and was waiting for my results, I got a call from the office saying that I needed to come back in for some more imaging. When I got there, I was told that my eyes were really unique, and Dr. Haines was getting second opinions from doctors before proceeding. I was pretty worried that I wouldnt qualify, but after consulting with other doctors, Dr. Haines felt that it was safe to proceed. I really appreciated the fact that he was putting my safety first, and was allowing me to visit his office so much without me having to pay a dime (since I had not yet committed at that point). He really cares about his patients health and safety.Everything from the first visit to the actual surgery went incredibly smoothly. I never felt worried, awkward, or out of place. On the day of the surgery Dr. Haines had a masseuse there to ease up his patients prior to the surgery. As for the surgery itself, it went flawlessly. At the end, I was gifted a dvd that recorded the surgery through the microscope. It is amazing! When I was reading reviews and doing research for lasik in Oregon, I kept trying to look for a price listed online but no place offered them. When I called most offices, I was told to come in for a consultation and they could tell me there. However, when I called Dr. Hainess office, I was told immediately on the phone that it would be just over $5000 for both eyes. This included all of the eye medication I would need, and any follow up corrective surgery I may need the following year. Since Im a college student, I asked if they had financing options and sure enough, you can finance it out over 2 years with no interest. It comes out to just over $200 a month and it is the best decision I have made in my life. My eyes have been perfect following the surgery, and I highly, highly recommend anyone on the fence to pull the trigger and get lasik. It is life changing.Thank you everyone at Oregon iLasik!

I had been considering Lasix for year, but was told by optometrists that due to my astigmatism and dry eyes I was not a candidate. I called Oregon iLasik for a second opinion. They worked me in quickly and told me that if I wasnt a candidate the consultation would be free. I qualified and had the surgery the next week. All of the scary things that they said may be normal for the first few months such as glare and halos never happened. I was told my eyes would be dry and I would use drops for a few months, I stopped noticing any dryness after a week. My vision is the best it has ever been and I couldnt be happier. The staff and office at Oregon iLasik is wonderful. The worst part of all of it was the procedure since I was so nervous about having an operation on my eyes. It was painless and luckily I had a sedative and a preprocedure massage at the clinic before hand. I would recommend just taking deep breaths during the procedure and reminding yourself that itll be done quickly. If anyone has ever told you that you are not a candidate of Lasix call Oregon iLasik and get a second opinion. I am 100% satisfied with my outcome and kick myself for not calling sooner.

Thanx so much for being the reason I never have to look for those dreaded reading glasses. I had a pair in every room in the house, in the car, at work, in my purse - NO MORE!!! Anyone want a pair, theyre free and I no longer need them :-)Your office team was so professional and helpful, the procedure was quick and painless, the chair massage was awesome and Dr Haines was great. The worst part?? Not being able to wear make-up for a week.Thanx for allowing me not to be reminded every day that Im over 40 and the first thing to go is your eyesight!!

My relationship with Dr. Haines lasted several years (until I moved to Canada). The staff was always professional and friendly. Dr. Haines has a great sense of humor.I especially loved being able to get a short update on Dr. Haines work in third world countries. He will take some of his staff and perform eye surgeries there. He performed ilasik surgery on my eyes and I have been satisfied with the results.I went from -11 or so eyesight to being able to be without glasses.Youll love him too!

I regret my decision to get lasik at this office. The short of it is after spending $5,000, Im still in glasses due to unethical practices and have a host of new difficulties relating to my eyes Ive never had to deal with before. Let me tell you, when you spend thousands for literally nothing but problems, it leaves you feeling bitter and angry. The long version:When I went to Dr. Haines for a vision screening to see if I was eligible for Lasik, I told them about the problem I was having with my eyes, that my vision was converging (or crossing) at distances greater than 10 feet. I asked multiple people in this office multiple times, including the doctor, if this would impact my Lasik procedure and if it would go away when I got the procedure. I figured it was related to the prescription of my glasses being wrong. They always downplayed their answer and answered me without really answering or feigning ignorance, leading me to believe it would not be a problem and that I should go ahead with the procedure. In retrospect, I felt I was given the runaround and rushed into getting the procedure. After getting the procedure, youre scheduled for a series of followup appointments with the office. The final straw for me was showing up for one of these followup appointments only to be made to wait for an hour to see the doctor. When I finally do get to see the doctor, he sees me for literally 5 minutes, rushes through looking at my eyes, then leaves the room. Im told by his assistants that he is running late for a meeting he has somewhere else outside of the office and had to leave. I didnt even get a chance to ask questions or voice concerns. So I wait an hour to see him and he leaves 5 minutes into our appointment without addressing my concerns.Regarding my eyes, like the other reviewer I now have ghosting and haloing issues and severe dry eyes, none of which I had before. I would not mind these so much had I felt my lasik procedure was actually a success and I could enjoy the benefits, but considering Im still wearing glasses and out $5,000 (the cost of Lasik and the vision therapy I had to get to correct whatever issue I was having with my eyes prior to getting Lasik that the doctor failed to tell me about). As soon as Id paid and had the procedure done, suddenly the doctor knew the answer to my questions and tells me he thinks I have Strabismus and that I either need corrective surgery or vision therapy and hes happy to refer me either way. If I had known this prior to getting the Lasik I would not have gotten the Lasik and he knew that but let me get it anyway. I wasnt about to spend $3,000 on Lasik and still be in glasses, so I tried the vision therapy for another $2,000 and, spoiler alert, it did not work either. So now Im left with either getting MORE surgery on my eyes, which may not work, or worse, may blind me, or just dealing with what basically amounts to a $5,000 pair of glasses.I would not go back to this office for a cup of water, let alone any kind of surgical procedure.

I visited numerous pages, read lots of reviews, spoke to many individuals who had had Lasik, and after speaking with family and friends finally settled on Oregon iLasik. As I examined the Oregon iLasik page once more I found no gimmicks which was nice as most were covered in them and they offered Care Credit as a form of financing. From the start they were informative, straightforward in acknowledging that there were two types of procedures one slightly less expensive but either way completely worth it.Upon first walking to to the office it is clean, nicely laid out and although nervous was put at ease as Gina (who was bright and bubbly) offered me cookies and coffee and discussed what had drawn me to Oregon iLasik as she gave me a tour of the office. Once we were settled in the exam room she asked how I thought I was going to pay for the expense and when I told her I was looking at April of 2015 she understood and said that may individuals liked to utilize their Flex accounts (most companies would have put off knowing the patient was looking at the surgery over six months down the road). After a brief exam she explained that it looked like I would be a great candidate; however, would have to come back closer to the date to see Dr. Haines for the final determination. My second appointment I met Dr. Haines who was soft spoken and as he showed me the scans of my eye and I was immediately impressed by the level of technology, and the pure joy that Dr. Haines has at doing his job made me feel even better about my choice to have the procedure. Once he declared I would be a good candidate I was given a bag of goodies and some forms to look over explaining the procedure. From that point time seemed to fly and before I knew it was April and I was coming back for my surgery.I met with Lisa (who was also very happy and bubbly) as she went through the procedure and aftercare with the medications, and when they should be taken and basically fielded any further questions I could think of. From there she gave me a valium and was introduced to the massage therapist to help further the relaxation process. After a nice 20 min shoulder and neck massage I was escorted into the procedure room where I got to joke with the gentleman helping out as they got me ready for Dr. Haines. It really did not take long once he came in maybe 15 or 20 minutes total, two lasers, one to cut the flap, one to perform the Lasik. Dr. Haines talked to me the entire time making sure I was comfortable and explaining what was happening. Then, it was over and I was in the recovery room eating cookies and drinking orange juice even though it was blurry I could actually see without my glasses. Next, it was off to home and sleep. I had worn glasses since the age of 9 and to suddenly wake up and not need them was strange, I kept thinking I was forgetting something.I cannot thank Dr. Haines or his staff enough for giving me back my freedom from glasses!!! I highly recommend them to anybody who is thinking about getting Lasik.Sabrina D. Springfield, OR

I have only had LASIK once so I cannot compare it to others. But I can say that my experience at Oregon iLasik is in yelp review terms WooHoo! As good as it gets!First I will start with what made me choose them. I live in Salem so going to Oregon iLasik was a bit out of my way, but if you are searching for Lasik options then you know the task can be daunting. Googling lasik in Oregon returns a lot of options, options here in Salem, tons of options in Portland, and then some options in Eugene. I visited numerous pages and different places and read lots of reviews and finally I settled on Oregon iLasik. I did this for mainly one reason; there were no gimmicks on the page. No buy one eye get one free, no discount this month only, no easy financing (they do offer financing dont get me wrong it just wasnt a gimmick on the front page) I only have one set of eyes and I dont want to treat shooting a laser into them the same way I would treat buying a couch or getting an oil change. They were straightforward, said it is expensive but here is why it is worth it. They use brand new technology, completely bladeless, and the only laser that is approved by NASA for astronauts and the Air Force for pilots. That is saying something, so, I called and made and appt.Upon first walking to to the office I knew I had made the correct choice. I was immediately greeted right in the door by someone who asked if I was me (they keep track of who should be walking in so they can say hi). I had my wife and mother with me (I didnt need baby sitters just had other business that day) and they offered us all espresso, cookies, water. And the coffee was in a real glass and made in one of those nespresso machines, not Folgers in a Styrofoam cup. The office is clean, nicely laid out. We had to wait a little bit but every few minutes one of the staff asked if we were good and needed anything. Then it was time for my appointment.Gina (who is just lovely) started with giving me a tour of the office. Then we went in the exam room where they give you the (pick lens one or two) routine for a while and then have your eye mapped with some pretty intense technology. Dr. Haines showed me the scans of my eye and I am impressed by the level of technology, made me feel good about the procedure. He Gina and he walked me through what would happen, and whether or not he felt I was a good candidate.Next was out in the recovery area with Lisa (who is also just lovely) She went through the day of procedure schedule, and aftercare. All the medications, and when they should be taken and basically fielded any questions I could think of.Day of surgery, came in, (more espresso and cookies) signed a couple of releases, took a valium, then they bring in a massage therapist to help you relax. That was amazing, a nice 20 min shoulder and neck massage just before surgery. Very top notch idea by the doctor if I do say so. Next comes the actual procedure. About 15 minutes in the room total, two lasers, one to cut the flap, one to perform the Lasik. The doctor talks to you the entire time making sure you are comfortable and explaining what is happening. And then, its over. Go home, sleep it off for a couple hours and you can see. It is the most magical thing I have ever seen. I am a person who has no memory of what it is like to be able to open my eyes and see. Glasses at 7 and contacts at 12 and suddenly I didnt need them. I opened my eyes and I can see!!I cannot thank Dr. Haines or his staff enough for the miracle they have given me and I highly recommend them.
