This place is in MAJOR need Of state, and joint commission visit! Never answers the phone when calling to check on loved ones. The Hospice Nurse can’t even give an update on patient because NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. Please tell me where your staff is because any time I’m there to visit in person I don’t see any staff. The only people I see while walking in or out, are the other residents who wonder the halls all while “social distancing” is why we weren’t allowed to visit until she became Hospice. Please please please do your research on this place. I know I wouldn’t leave my injured Dog here for an over night stay!!! Pathetic you can not find a facility who pays people to do a job that never gets done! Get with it Villa! Or hire at least ONE LPN to answer calls for your facility. Better yet hire someone like a warm body, just to pick the phone up to communicate with doctors and nurses from the hospital. Or, maybe hire someone who will wipe the blood off your 80yr old grandmother who is non mobile, but rolled right out of the bed…. Or better yet, it was her fault she fell out of the wheel chair and broke her own nose…. Right? Um… No…. She fell on YOUR TIME without even notifying her POA. One thing is for sure…. Do NOT use this facility if you can keep your loved one out of it.

My grandmother was place here for less then a month when a nurse near by she had fallen so bad she had to be rushed to the hospital. The poa was never contacted nor was any other family member on file. Looking at other review the persons story below is similar to ours. Now she is spending days in the hospital and we have to pay out of pocket to hold her place. I wish people would read reviews and not place a love one in this facility. I hope the state also looks into this.

This was a horrible place. My mom came for rehab after a hospital stay and left this facility in worse shape than when she came in. She fell three times and was sent by EMT to ST E hospital with a fractured wrist and a UTI. I came and stayed everyday with her, Spending the night wasn’t an option because she was in a cramped room with a room mate. There wasn’t even a decent chair to sit in while visiting. Her urine soaked clothing was mixed in a hamper with her room mates clothing every time I came in. They could not keep her personal belongings straight. I tried the nurse call button every time I visited and no one ever came. Deplorable conditions.

This place is a total joke of employment and patient care. Management sits in there upper offices and tries to run the ship. There is so much bribery that goes on to employees to help management to look good. John you really need to look into the crooked stuff that goes on there. So much they are all hiding. Along with discrimination toward all employees not based on color or race, is all based on who management can run into the ground and favoritism.Just another thing to point out employees working COVID hall asked for pizza and was told by management NO” not today. What do they think they would have if it wasn’t for the Aides and Nurses during these trying times.State needs to look in on this place a lot more closely and not let things be covered up.Please do yourself a favor and look for other employment and other places to send your family members you love beds do not go cold here before the next patient is brought in.SO MONEY HUNGRY!

So sad how a place treats their employees. No wonder they can’t keep staff, can’t even keep a chef on board. All upper management are friends that are only looking out for the dollar and what benefits them. They will loose all employees sooner than later and it will shut down for making a reputation for itself. No place to work.

Staff is very unaffectionate fails to follow doctor‘s orders shows no compassion. I was told and promised things from the beginning of how good the care would be but would not follow orders that were sent from doctors at hospital. Was told by one employee if you don’t think we’re taking good enough care of your mother-in-law come pick her up and take her home and when talking to one of the charge nurses he hung the phone up on me. When you are spending over $10,000 a month you expect a lot better care and respect than what has been shown to us.

Negative 5 review nurses are so unattended they dont listen. my grandmother was there for a few months and I had to drive from Louisville to bath her because they wouldnt. She was bathed less than once a week. While visiting we would push the nurse button and wait 45min-1hr for a response. I get it nurses are busy and places are understaffed if you dont want to do the job dont go to school for it or dont go to a nursing home if you cant attend to the elderly. I had to buy a new blanket 3 times because she would ask for a second blanket (older people get colder) and never received I brought one in they took it to wash and it never returned 3 times. I remember tried being nice to the nurse to get better care offered to buy them lunch they payed more attention that day but were back to not caring one but the next day. My grandmothers roommate almost died because she was left unattended for so long. Was finally rushed to the hospital and treated. Please do not take your elder family members too this place worst experience Ive ever been in for my grandma.

Its stressful on the nurses when theyre short handed. Yet they still treat each patient with great care. All the P.T, O.T, and speech work with patients to help them get back home. Both of my grandparents have spent time in this facility, both for several months. All I can say is I hope my kids love me enough to put me in a place this nice if I ever need it. Great nursing staff, with great bedside manner. Food is better than you expect from a nursing home. The activities that were provided on a daily basis were not boring and the staff never treated anyone, including family as a burden. Love these guys for providing a wonderful end to two wonderful peoples lives.

I made an appointment with the administrator for my brother. I had been there before and thought the place was nice. When I made my appointment she asked me to call if I could not make it which of course I would do because time is valuable. My husband and I sat there for 10 minutes before greeted by someone for a tour ( which we really didnt need) after the tour we still waited 10 minutes and never saw her whatsoever . I finally told my husband lets go ,we were not important obviously, and if they treat us that way ,how are the patients treated??? Well I want my brother to have the best of care where they care!

My mother in law was just at Villaspring after a knee replacement. Her room was very large with plenty of room for visitors. I was pleased to find out that I was able purchase meal tickets to enjoy meals with her while she was there. The food was suprisingly very good. Not at all what I was expecting for hospital food. The aids that were working on her hall were very sweet girls. Even when they were busy they never seemed to be bothered by her asking for help. If she ever needs to go back to a rehab center for anything Villaspring will be where we take her!

Wow!..let me say if your loved one is needing pills and room and board, this is the place..if they need attention or have special need dont do it! I complained about my mom sitting in dried feces and not being watched closely with her colostomy bag. She had a wound which got worse due to leakage...when I complained, they took over her wound care..the nurses were not knowledgeable enough and the wound deepened and spread to be huge!..all the while she was in agony..they covered up the huge wound and for 3 days she went without access to pain pills!..did I mention the short staff most of the time? AS a nurse and family member, I dont recommend this place. Ive been threatened at least 3 times that THEY would find mom a new place if I wasnt happy with their care! She landed in the hospital this month over her uncontrolable pain and wound..it was too much!

My mother was recovering from knee surgery and spent about a month at this facility. The facility hallways and common areas always appeared to be clean. I was satisfied with the care she received by the nursing staff. The only complaint she had was was slow service during meal times. The PT staff is exceptional. Through her recovery, she had spent time at two other rehabilitation centers but they didnt really prepare her to go home. The PT staff did a great job with getting her ready to be on her own again. The nursing staff seems to be a little understaffed but given my recent experience with other rehab centers, Villa was still better than the others.

The OT [Blake Phillips] & PT [Amy Kline and Kourtney Redelman] staff was one of the finest teams Ive seen during my wifes life time of OT & PT services to include our 27 years of military top notch care and life in Virginia Beach community. I would not ever let my mother go there again. Physical therapists were great. But other than that, the 3 months she was there it was terrible. She had to have assistance to go to tha bathroom as she broke her shoulder and was unstable on her feet. The first weekend she was there, both Saturday and Sunday she was covered in feces after requesting help to go to the bathroom . Wasnt too happy about that . One day she asked an aide to help her to the restroom and and the aide told her to get up and do it herseld because her shift ended at 2:00 and she was upset because she was working over. She had not been given her fluid pills for 5 wreks and she needed them because she is a heart patient and waa wheezing terribly. I requested a chest xray and the diagnosis was congestive heart failure. The food wasnt much to brag about either. Before sending a loved one here, you need to thoroughly check it out. I dont usually complain about anything but I was very upset about everything here except the physical therapy and that part was great.

I have been in long term and short term rehab care all of my career, 20 plus years now. I have worked for other companies over the years locally and up through the Dayton, Ohio area through college before returning back to the northern Kentucky area. I have been with Carespring for over 10 years now. By far Carespring is the best company I have ever worked for. The family like environment to the simplest things such as the immediate availability of supplies and even quality food and snacks for the residents. I have worked in facilities where there was not enough linen at all, not enough toilet paper and other daily use supplies. I have worked for facilities in which the only snack provided was a slice of cheese and 4 soda crackers on a styrofoam plate covered with plastic. When I came to Carespring I was blown away on the amount of love and care and also amazed by the abundance of supplies and linen that has always been available every single day, day in and day out for the last 10 plus years, for the residents. Blankets, briefs, linen, many food and snack choice availability’s. There are no perfect things anywhere but from what I have seen and witnessed at other facilities especially up through Ohio and with Medicaid patients and residents who live in the facilities, Carespring hands down by far excels on so many levels it’s hard to explain on a post it something that just has to be lived and witnessed over time.

My mother was at Villa Springs to recover from a broken hip. I was there only three days and mortified at what I witnessed. The first afternoon, an aide came in to put Mom into a wheelchair. She had mom stand up on both feet....mind you she was supposed to be non weight bearing on one leg due to a broken hip. When I objected to how the aide was getting mom up, she said thats the way they did things. When Mom wasnt seated back fully into the wheelchair, the gal just yanked on the back of her pants and laughed saying she had probably just given her a massive wedgie!Later, after several request for someone to take Mom to the restroom, an aide appeared. When Mom was done and returned to me....I commented that she smelled like poop and then pointed out that she had poop on her hands! The aide replied that she had wiped her hands with a wash cloth, turned and left!! I had to take mom to the restroom and use warm water and soap with a nail brush to clean her hands. At this time I noticed the toilet seat assist was either covered in feces or was rusty. Either would be unacceptable for numerous reasons.Later than evening, we waited 1.5 hours for her dinner. I went to the dining room three times asking for her dinner. The third time, they told me that my mother, who I was visiting, had left earlier in the day!!! I explained the she certainly had not as I was talking to her in her room. They then said to take a meal, pointing out that they had three extra that evening. I have to wonder who else did not get fed that evening. The second day......I took Mom to the dining room to eat. The process was very slow and the food cool when it finally arrived. We sat at the table for 40 minutes before being served. At some point, it was discovered that Mom had attempted to get up during the night and fell. The staff did not tell us this, her roommate reported this to my sister! I called and complained about this pointing out that she had fallen and broken her hip on carpet. Now she had fallen on a tiled floor and they didnt think she should be examined by a doctor! The director of nursing assured me that these things would be addressed. A few weeks after I returned home, I received a call that Mom had fallen and broken her other hip!! Seriously. Their staff picked her up and put her back into bed. No one seemed to notice that her legs didnt line up!!! Again, we were not called. The put her in a wheel chair at about five am as they said she was restless.....again, standing her up and not noticing a problem and then at breakfast wheeled her to the dining room. It was the PT staff that noticed that she had broken her other hip and she was finally taken to the hospital! I asked how she had managed to get out of bed and why werent there any alarms. I was told she had disconnected the alarms. Mom couldnt operate her call button, I cant figure out how she disconnected an alarm! After her surgery, against my will (I had other siblings involved in making decisions) she was returned to Villa Springs!!! The hospital said it was the orthopedics choice, if thats true they need to rethink their choices! I called to check on her and was told that she was not doing well. She apparently had a skin wound on her foot which was oozing and pretty serious. They said they were addressing it and were getting her up in a wheelchair. I asked them to make sure that they assisted her properly, again explaining that it took two people and they assured me they would. Well....the next day, mom was rushed to the hospital with a blood pressure of 50/20!!!Im not sure exactly what happened ( I will always attribute her decline to this place) but Moms health steadily declined. Within days she was admitted to hospice.. Once again, people wanted to send her back to Villa Springs but I would not have her die there. She was taken to another place that my relatives and friends said was wonderful and attentive. She died within a week of being there.....but she didnt die neglected at Villa Springs!

My experience with my Mom was awful. They solicit your parent from St. Elizabeth while they are sick telling them they have to leave that day. In my case my mom panicked and was crying about having to make a decision. Then when they get you there, they do it all over again about payments after the discharge if you plan on staying. They hire young women to do their soliciting and pressure tactics from inside the hospital and at the facility. The hospital and Villaspring had a very similar performance the next time she was in St. Elizabeth Edgewood. Our elderly, sick parents do not need the stress when sick. Shameful!
