I rescue and adopt senior dogs. When I got my Newfoundland Mix, he was 12 years old and in bad shape. From cracked toenails and infected eyeballs, to skin infections and regular checkups, Erlanger Vet Hospital saw my pup on a regular basis. They gave the best medical care they could to keep my old pup happy and comfortable.From day one, Shadow was cared and loved by Dani. When I came to the decision to put Shadow down, I was hysterical. All of the doctors and technicians who came through the room, gave me nothing but comfort. Dani was there until the very end, loving and holding Shadow through his catheter and carrying him in from the back when he couldn’t walk. She was the one who took the phone call and cried with me over the phone, and she said she made sure she was there the next day when I brought him in. She went above and beyond for my pup, as did all of the Vets who had treated him that day and before then. The doctor who did the procedure (I didn’t catch his name) did a fantastic job at explaining what to expect during the procedure before it happened. Everyone who was there the day I put Shadow down was nothing but kind and empathetic towards me. I cannot thank Dani and the whole team enough for holding my hand during one of the worst moments.

Do not take your pets there, I had an appointment for my leopard gecko and the doctor advised me to purchase a 5.0 UVB light. When I did purchase the light I realized it had the same brightness as a normal lightbulb which is very damaging to their eyes. I went back and talked to the doctor about it and they said they didnt realize that was it was a bright light. if I hadnt have done my research my pet would be blind at this point to say Im angry is an understatement.

Normally we have a great experience with Erlanger vet, but today was our worst. I called and spoke with a Julie and said my dog was here a little early for our appointment. Julie asked for my dogs name and said very rudely well it’ll be a wait you can sit though. And I told her to call us when our dog could come in since I did not realize the lobby was open. She proceeded to rudely say hang on and put me on hold and said I’m getting you someone else. Lauren was very kind in helping us, but there was NO reason for Julie to transfer the call and be rude. Please learn some manners and customer service there is no reason to be rude. Kindness goes a long way. I would appreciate if someone could talk with me about my experience.

I had a great first visit at Erlanger Veterinary Hospital! The vet and her assistant handled my bunny with care and provided helpful feedback regarding his health and diet. I will definitely be coming back!

TL;DR - TAKE YOUR PETS HERE AND TRUST THIS STAFF. They will give your pets the best treatment possible.This has taken me time to write - where do I begin?My husband and I just moved from the west side of Cincinnati to the area. Mid-move, we took our Shiba Inu here for his check up as we were trying to feel out for a new vet in the area. My husband LOVED how they treated our dog and how kind they were to him in giving him all the info he needed as a new customer.In the meantime, our Great Pyrenees was becoming much less active and sad. :( She was born with a bad leg that never had the chance to be corrected, so when this first came on, we just figured she was getting old or having leg issues. However, through quarantine, my husband worked and I mostly stayed at home. I seen how sad she was, but when he would get home she would perk up as if she was hiding it from him.Our vet on the west side had just taken a tennis-ball sized tumor off her chin and had the tumor tested and said it was benign. For about a week, she seemed much happier to have that weight off her. Thats when she started becoming very sad. We decided to take her to Erlanger Vet Hospital. She could barely walk at this point and the wonderful staff offered to have the vet come outside to check her out.It took him about ten seconds of feeling her leg to accurately diagnose her with extreme bone cancer and he said thats why she was in pain. Two lovely nurses came out with a stretcher to take her back to get an x-ray to just verify what the vet said.It was exactly as he said, she was full of tumors and it was hindering her breathing as well as her walking and many other things. With that said, he didnt immediately rush to putting her down, but she did have a fever and some other issues.This was my husbands baby and he was in a bit of denial. We decided to put her down, but my husband selfishly didnt want to do it before he went to work because he knew he would be a wreck. I have to 100% commend the vet here because he said exactly what needed to be said, and he did NOT care about our feelings at all, he only had our babys best interest in heart. On the business side, that could be construed in a negative light, but he said what my husband NEEDED to hear. I had told him those things before we went in, but he needed to hear that from the vet - no matter how hard that was to hear.The staff were compassionate, helpful and caring. Right before we put her down, one of the assistants (I believe) told us that we were doing the right thing and that just hit us in such a way that has stuck with us. We had already been asking ourselves if we should be doing it or if we could do more. So thank you 1000 times to your staff.They gave us a little time to compose ourselves before we left as my husband was in denial that putting her down was even a possibility before arriving.They work with an amazing cremation service, Faithful Companion, and we got our dogs ashes back the next day and it was beautifully done.It also makes me happy to see a vet that takes more than just dogs and cats.

I dont think my experience could have been better. Dr. Schumann was great! He looked Sammy over for quite a while to make sure he didnt have mites and was very informative. He was very personable and friendly. I will absolutely keep Dr. Schumann as my vet for Sammy (Canary Winged Parakeet).

The entire staff is always friendly, super helpful!, very knowledgeable!! Summary of the appointment is really easy to read & provides detail of when our dogs last shots were given & when they are due again. They are a bit heavy on the up-sale. But never pushy if you say no to anything like a flu shot. I would recommend to everyone! So glad my boys are in their care.

I brought my dog to Erlanger Veterinary Hospital during the height of the pandemic even though I was concerned about COVID. My vet entered the small, poorly ventilated exam room and was not properly masked--he became irritated when I pointed it out and refused to mask correctly despite my apprehension (AND DESPITE STATE MASKING LAWS THAT ARE REQUIRED BY THE KY VETERINARY BOARD) . I mentioned this on the client survey that was sent in follow up. When I made the next appointment 6 months later, I was told that he would no longer see me because he was offended by my survey comments, even though he had been our dogs vet since she was a puppy. He was unprofessional in other ways--complaining about his ex wife at multiple appointments (do I need to hear this?), and made a racially insensitive remark about professional athletes that would have resulted in termination had he been an employee and not a co-owner of the practice.

I have only been taking my pet to Erlanger Vet since the pandemic began. They are very professional and make it easy to work with them by putting things online such as forms etc and they also have an app. My pet enjoys going for her visits and is not scared to go in and see the staff. The staff seems very caring and the vet calls to go over the appointment and is open to all questions. The staff is very friendly and seems to be very kind to my pet. I highly recommend.

Ive been taking my dog here for about 2 years for grooming and veterinary services and I am completely satisfied. Staff is friendly, very thorough, and informative.

My little ferret dislocated his shoulder, so last minute I had to find a vet that would provide care for him. I have no complaints whatsoever about my experience. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, put up with rounds of questions from me, prompt, they worked me in, they told me every cost before any cost was incurred, Dr. Hastings was honest, kind, and fair. I’ll be switching my dog, and my 2nd ferret to the Erlanger Vet. They def. earned my business for all of my pets.

My first encounter with this place was 2 weeks ago and because of Covid-19 I was unable to personally interact with a lot of the staff but I was able to communicate by phone. I took my rabbit, Jelly Bean and unfortunately she had to be put down. It has been such a hard time dealing with the loss of a beloved pet, however the staff was extremely supportive and caring during this tough time. A few days after having to have her put down we received her paw prints and named craved into a Christmas ornament. Such a comforting thing to have. I really appreciate everything they did for our family with the loss of our pet.

The front desk staff was sooo nice and very patient with me calling several times for my lizard’s pathology report. I will give them 5/5 stars for that, they were very compassionate and wonderful. HOWEVER! The prices are awful! I spent over 400$ at one visit. The X-ray alone for a little lizard was 200$! My primary vet I take my little girl too was 87$.Not to mention the doctor said he could not read anything on the x ray because it was too dense. Therefore, I paid 150$ on a aspiration to see what was going on with my girl. Again, the primary vet I take her too, redid the X-ray, and saw everything she needed to diagnose what was going on.That being said, the staff and even the doctor was very nice, however I feel like I was swindled into spending more money than I actually needed to.

I have been a loyal customer of Erlanger Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. The staff are kind and considerate and the doctors will all go out of their way to make sure you have all of your questions answered. They run a state of the art surgery center and their doctors are by far the most experienced in the area. I wouldnt consider taking my 19 year old cat anywhere else!

I would never go any where else. Took Doc in for ear infection. It was worse than I thought and he had to have his ear flushed the next day. They made arrangements to do the procedure, took such great care of him and answered all my questions. I never feel rushed and everyone there is so caring with my dogs. The Best!

I recently moved to the area and needed a local vet. I had come in for a lump check on my fur baby. Not only did the Doctor make me feel very confident in their ability but the Technician went above and beyond. They didnt mind answering every question, taking the time to do so. They were honest yet compassionate with their words. I was incredibly impressed and thankful. They also had no problem sharing all details with my vet in SC for a second opinion. As far as Im concerned, the prices are also in line with credible vet offices. My baby is scheduled for surgery next week and I feel confident that they will do an excellent job, taking care of her as their own. Go check them out. Its worth it.

We were lied to about pricing and that they don’t have to go by the vaccine schedule that’s in their folder.Our puppy got his flu shot late so he’s 15 weeks today and got his second flu shot. They didn’t tell us at the last appointment that he was gonna need this at his next appointment. So we have spent over $400 in 2 appointments.When called to set first appointment up we were told $200 and than after that his next appointment would be $40 for puppy stage. Than today we get there do the appointment and it comes to another $200. When it should of been $40.We are not happy camper about this they messing with our money budget 🤬🤬🤬🤬

I have been to many other vet places and they never treated my dog like the Erlanger vet did, my dogs are like my kids and Erlanger vet treated them the same way I would and I would highly recommend Erlanger vet to anyone! The techs and vets are very good people and I appreciate them more than anything! Very good place!

There is no way you can make it any better. You all at Erlanger Veterinary are the best!! You all saved my Shamock from passing and treated my Amazon greatly and with respect. And then I bring my cat in, Diamond, with a swollen eye and she is almost back to normal. We love you all and would NEVER think twice about taking our furry and feathered baby any place else!!!

Yes, Virginia, experience counts!The vets here have a wide range of experience and operate on the side of caution - they don’t jump into an expensive procedure or operation with considering and offering different options to be taken. In addition, follow-up is always carried out. I am consistently impressed, from the ladies at the reception, to the vet techs, they are attentive and caring. The vets here are exceptional.

Their exotic animal vets are very knowledgableAnd helpful and seem to keep up to date on current research which is wonderful. I have taken reptiles and ferrets and rabbits and hamsters to them and although exotics tend to be pricier visits in general anywhere its not too terrible here-the knowledge they bring to the consult is worth it.

I discovered Erlanger Veterinary back when I had my rabbit 10 or so years ago. I have since then brought our dogs for treatment. Not only do I feel that they go above and beyond but the environment is always clean and friendly. I will always recommend Erlanger Vet first to friends and family! Very awesome experience at this veterinarian! Staff was super friendly and gentle with my guinea pig. The doctor was also very knowledgeable about guinea pigs which is so hard to find since guinea pig care is not as common as cat and dog care. The facility was super clean, including the human restrooms:) I was also able to fill out all the paperwork online, so, when I came for the appointment, I was seen right away and did not have to fill out a clipboard full of paperwork which was very convenient. I will definitely be bringing my guinea pig back if she has another health concern and would recommend this place to other owners with exotic pets.

My girls have been treated here for a few yrs now and I cant say enough good things about the doctors and staff. Dr Nancarrow has been truly wonderful w my Parker. Despite grave news, she thought outside the box, hoped for the best, and has done everything in her human superpowers to make things easy on us both. I will forever be grateful for her kindness. Took my new dog to Erlanger Veterinary and had a great first experience. As a stray puppy, he needed a full exam and all vaccinations. Everything was amazing from the time we walked in the door until the time we left. The staff was so great with him and made my nervous pup as comfortable as possible.

I tried to post this, but apparently I am not able. I loved my experience there. However, I was told my Guinea pig was in the half way mark of being ok. After paying 321.00 she came home and was dead 8 hours later. I asked for some kind of refund and was told no. What place tells you your pet is doing ok, sends them home and it dies? Really? I deserve something other than sorry. Refund my money. You obviously should have put her down when I asked you to, but no you sent her home to suffer for a few more hours and cost me money I did not have. Thanks.

I cant think of anything your staff could do to make it better. In these times there are a lot of vet services that could use my money, but why would I change when I always get excellent service. This service extends to the doggie day care, boarding, grooming, vet techs, front desk, and especially to Dr. Nancarrow, shes the best.

We took out baby Red Eared Slider here and the vet and staff was absolutely wonderful! They answered all questions we had and gave us some wonderful information to help us along the way.

Definately a wonderful team! They each took time to explain to me what my kitten needed to lead a healthy life. Any shots or procedures were thoroughly explained. They also have coupons on their website which really helps!

Erlanger Vet Hospital is absolutely wonderful. Dr. Schuman is phenomenal. He performed two TTA surgeries on our dog Lou Lou and most recently saved our new puppy Maggie that was diagnosed with parvo two hours after we got her. Maggie spent a week in the hospital and they took great care of her and sent me photos and updates regularly! I highly recommend them to anyone that’s looking for an amazing vet. We are so thankful for Dr. Schuman and the rest of the staff for everything they’ve done for both of our dogs!!

My dog Denali had emergency surgery from cutting herself open on a bench. They got her right in and I was able to take her home that night. They gave her all the attention in the world and went above and beyond what I had hoped for. I will continue to bring all my dogs there in the future.

I always have a great experience with EVH. I talk about the hospital all the time. All of the staff members are outstanding and you can tell they all really care and love animals. When one of my cats a few years ago got sick and was near death, they were all very considerate and understanding and they did everything they could to help make him comfortable in the end. For my cats I have now, theyre amazing at helping to figure out behavioral issues as well! Just all around a jack of all trades, amazing vet!

Spent 200 dollars on a pet visit and then he said my sick animals were perfectly healthy besides their obvious visible health issues I took them there for, which I would need to pay for ANOTHER 200 dollar visit and take another day off work to get the actual issue looked at. Because he just couldnt bother actually doing his job. Prescribed stuff to help but didnt give me enough to give it as prescribed, meaning it is just for money.Greedy greedy greedy

We had our little conure at the facility today for a checkup and was concerned at how upset he was when we got him home and out of his transportation unit all the rest of today from11am after his check up. He was all good and healthy but he was a nervous wreck the rest of today with bad dieriaand not wanting to eat except very little. Most of today he has spent sitting on my wifes lap or even crawling up under her flannel shirt with only his tail sticking out. Have heard about how some bird doctors will give a type of gas to make the bird sleep while they exam the birds ,is this possible bto have done here at your facility?Thank you very much and all has been great bringing our parrot to your fine facility and will continue to recommend your location to othersWayne Werff

Staff worked me in with my favorite vet on a very busy day to check out my senior corgi, which helped to put my mind at ease. Cant say enough good things about this practice, which Ive gone to for over 20 years.

I take both dogs and cats to Erlanger and have never had a bad experience. Every vet and vet tech is extremely friendly, willing to answer all my questions and very knowledgeable. The front office staff are always friendly and have gone out of their way to work me in their schedule on occasion.

I enjoy the experience I have there and the love you and care you show and give my baby boy as if he belonged to you.The care I receive there is outstanding. Im always a nervous wreck when I bring my baby in but you continue to make me feel at ease. I know I can be a pain in the rear at times but its only because I want the best for my baby boy and you continue to amaze me. Thanks for the great care you give him and I can see you genuinely care for him as much as I do.

The service and people are very nice. The experience I’ve had there have been very good. My only thing is that while the place opens at 8:00 vets don’t get there until a later time.

Dr. Schumann & staff have been diligently taking care of our senior cat after she broke her leg. They reset w/ wires & a rod and things looked good on the X-rays. But the day after the rod was removed, she had another break below the first one probably due to bone cancer. Decision was made to amputate her leg (even at her advanced age) & she seems to be recovering & trying to adapt to being a tripod. Her next visit on 3/28 hopefully will confirm she is fine.

This office is amazing! Dr. DeWees knows my baby better than anyone and the techs are great with her too. Shes a 15 year old sassy Heeler so shes a handful. I have and will continue to recommend Erlanger Veterinary Hospital to my friends and family. We are moving about an hour away but I will still be driving down for her vet visits. Its worth it to make sure she gets the care she needs at her age.

Im very happy with Erlanger Veterinary Hospital. They take great care of my puppy and are very kind and gentle with her. My vet, Andrew, and the staff are very knowledgeable. I would hate to have to take my pet anywhere else. I also use the spa services and they are great also.

One of the few places in the area that handles exotics. I took my rat here for issues with mammary tumors. They did more than I expected, and were very knowledgeable on her species. Everyone there is great, and I will be coming back in the future.

The staff are always courteous and willing to help. I love this practice. Especially Dr. Tony Schumann, he is tops in his field.

Honestly our experience has been 10/10 with all 3 kitties weve taken here. Even when the kitties have had unfortunate diagnoses/health crises, the staff has been so considerate of their needs, as well as my and my fiances needs when going through emotionally distressing times. I will never trust anyone else with my babies!

This business estimated that my dogs procedure would cost $850-$1000, this after theyd already performed a non-invasive procedure that failed, costing me nearly $500. I begged them to let me make payments; after paying for the first treatment, I simply couldnt afford to pay another hefty sum all at once even after increasing my work hours to provide the care my dog needs. Its now been two weeks since weve spoken about the next step in my dogs treatment, my dog has gone elsewhere and had the procedure performed for less than half the lowest cost estimated, and Ive still not heard back from them about the possibility of making payments! To their knowledge, my dog could be in extreme pain at this point, and they havent even taken the five minutes to return my phone call!?High-quality care does not equal high-quality people. I truly believed that theyd show compassion after I repeatedly told them that the failed initial procedure had drained my bank account -- but instead of rallying to my dogs side to provide the follow-up care that she so desperately needed, they just didnt. I called again and again, and I waited, all the while in a panic, to hear back from them. I am disgusted at how we were treated once they realized that I wasnt wealthy enough to pay what I now know was double or even triple the price quoted to me by several other clinics.Theyll have a million excuses and explanations as to why this happened, Im certain, but the bottom line was the bottom line: MONEY. Greed and arrogance make people do really awful things. They do, indeed, provide quality care, so if you are experiencing an emergency and have nowhere else to go, I can say with certainty that theyll provide care first and ask for money after... but if youre simply looking for an actual human to treat you like an actual human, and if youre the least bit trusting of them and naive like I was to their motives, theyll take you for all youre worth in the process. They wont suffer one bit from losing just one client, like me, who could barely afford their services anyway -- but I suffered, and my dog suffered, because we couldnt easily drop a grand at the drop of a hat. Nobody, human or beast, deserves to be made to feel this way.

The office was helpful until I started asking for an estimated cost for the visit then I had to argue with them to get an answer. They told me $300.00 I left and went to Noahs ark in ft Mitchell for a grand total bill of $38.00 so basically they were going to over charge me $260.00. Dont go here if you like money cause you wont have any left after they get done with you.

The office always looks and smells clean. Everyone that works there cares about my pet and does their best to make my (small & nervous) dog at ease. I also like that there is a groomer attached and I can drop of my dog in the morning and shell be brought to her appointment during the day. I get a report from the vet when I pick up my groomed and cared for pet.

I went in the other day to have a checkup on my Siamese cat, who had an infected eye. They did a simple evaluation over her (body temperature and whatnot) and took some blood samples. Then they came to me with a bill for around $270.After some time of supposively doing simple blood testing, they then told me it could be oral infection that went into her eye, or feline leukemia and that theres a high chance that she would loose vision in the infected eye. The second suggestion seemed pretty fishy to me considering my cat had shots for feline leukemia in the past. They then came to me with a bill that was over $1,100 for all this work they wanted to do, which could of included removing her eye... Obviously this is WAY more than I even have in the bank so I just decided to have them give me some antibiotics and take my poor Siamese cat home.I left there paying a ridiculously overpriced bill of $270 just for an evaluation and some antibiotics.But the thing is, now my Siamese cats eye is healing and Ive checked, she can see just fine out that eye and shes doing pretty well. I feel they were over-evaluating her just to get massive amounts of money from me. Its pretty sick if you ask me and I will NEVER come back here... They care more about money than taking care of your pet.At least the antibiotics are doing their job, and her eye is healing very quickly.

Staff was very kind i let them know my financial situation and they were able to work with me

The staff is friendly, kind and gently. The doctors take the time to listen to your concerns, and are kind and gently with your pets. Would recomment them to anyone that is looking for a veterinary hospital.

The doctors and staff at Erlanger Veterinary Hospital are the most loving and compassionate people I know. They not only are very professional, and thorough, but they are also caring and thoughtful individuals who really love your animals like you do. The staff understands that they are caring for someone who means a great deal to you. I am very happy with the care I receive there.

My third visit to this and my dog was seen quickly for shot and nail trim. I barely had time to get (free) coffee. The waiting area is very clean, no odor. Staff is helpful and friendly. So far my appointments have been around 10-11am so I cant say what it is like later in the day for the evening rush. I am much happier with EVH than my previous vet.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with my first visit for my hedgehog and my first time at EVH, but they went above and beyond for us both and made us feel like we’d been there for years.

I used to bring my dog to a pet hospital that is part of a large chain. They were cheaper, but they showed many times that they were only interested in my dogs compliance, not his wellbeing. I switched when they said that my dog was too nervous and difficult for them to treat without a sedative before every visit. Erlanger Vet Hospital could not have been more different. They welcomed my dog to their clinic, feeding him treats and loving on him during the whole visit. When he felt uncomfortable they would stop and try a different approach. My dog began the visit cowering behind me as he usually does at the vet, and by the end he was so happy he didnt want to leave. I couldnt be happier about their services. They are a little more expensive, but, trust me, if youre considering making the switch then it is well worth it.

The best place! They care for my three dogs with love and care. I call last minute and they always seem to find time to fit my dogs in.

Theres nothing anyone else could have done better. The whole staff was especially considering my dog is a little squemish & frightened around new people. They were wonderful!!

I highly recommend this practice. All the doctors and the entire staff are wonderful - highly talented and so attentive and caring. We wouldnt trust our dogs (two Boxers) with anyone else!

From the time my dogs walk in the door they are treated like they live there. They greeted with affection and care from everyone.. The doctors know their job and do it very well. My dogs and I look forward to our visits.

Since day one the entire stall has treated us like family. We have referred several of our friends and family to them.

I have not had a bad experience at EVH or the resort. I have been a client of theirs since 2002. Yes, they are a more expensive than other vets in the area; but they are cheaper than others also. The staff is professional to me and my questions are answered easily.

I have worked with every vet at Erlanger Veterinary Hospital for years with all my pets - cats, dogs and chinchillas. Everyone there is top notch - from the schedulers to the vets. I cannot recommend them enough!

Through the years I have had various dogs and cats. They have always gone to the Erlanger Veterinary Hospital for their care, some of it just routine but some was of a serious nature. They have always had the best of care; and the people involved were concerned, knowledgeable, and caring people who would give immediate help when needed. I highly recommend them.
