I would highly recommend Great Lakes. I had anterior cervical discectomy and fusion of C3-C6 and the surgery took away the pain and put me at ease with my spinal cord. Dr. Bellotte is a great surgeon and his staff is very friendly and helpful.

The doctors in this place are excellent but the secretary who takes the calls is terrible. She does not have empathy and understanding for the patient.

Very unwilling to spend time with a patient and learn any history, look elsewhere.

I had an L5 - S1 (lower back) discectomy for a large herniated disc. Pain was horrible from pressing on nerves down my left leg. I had surgery and it was the best decision I have ever made. I’ve been pain free since I woke up and just overall really happy and thankful with everything from what the Doctor to Michael the Physician Assistant did for me. I would recommend Dr. El Zu-Way from UPMC Great Lakes Neurosurgery.

Would not recommend, they brushed off a 90 year old women with fluid on the brain stating it was not good to operate on her. Took her to every Neurosurgeon in Erie same thing. Took her to Cleveland Clinic they said definitely we can help her and she is now 93 and back to her old self and wonderful. Yes, it took some time and patience and doctors who cared about their patients. But, I guess that is not what happens here in Erie Pa we have horrible medical care in my book as well. Joe Geppert
