My girlfriend had a recent appointment with Ruthann Lipman for an ear cleaning.During the procedure she kept her head still as instructed but the doctor was very rough with her left ear and she felt a sharp pain in her ear while the doctor was working. When she asked if everything was OK, the doctor didn’t bother to respond. Later that day, the pain wasnt too bad, but gradually worsened. When the pain didn’t go away after a week, she made an appointment with her PCP. She was told that her ear canal was inflamed because of a scratch from the ear cleaning and was given a prescription for antibiotic ear drops for the infection. This injury should never have happened, leading to her need to take antibiotics that she shouldnt need to be taking. This doctor has no regard for her patients and is very rude and dismissing of any patient concerns or questions. The staff however were very nice to deal with.

I have been experiencing ear nose and throat problems for the past five years and I finally got a referral from my new family doctor. I was extremely excited to finally get an answer to some of my issues, keep in mind I have never been to an ENT before so I have no idea what to expect. I waited 45 minutes in the room for Dr. Lipman to finally come in. I explain to her my past history and what my continuous problems are. She checks my nose and ears and put some spray up my nose that is supposed to “numb me”. She never explained what any of this was for. I had no idea what was happening. Then I see her with a scope on her hand and come near my face. I asked what was happening. She said “just close your eyes”. I asked if that was going in me and she replied yes. I assumed down my throat but I had no clue since she did not explain. I was extremely scared and confused and backed away out of fear of not knowing what was going on. She sets the scope down and says “well if you can’t do it I can’t help you and you’re too old for me to force you” and walked out of the room. After waiting for 45 minutes she spent a total of maybe 4 minutes in the room with me. The nurse then told me she wouldn’t order any CT scans or allergy panels for me either. I still have no clue what the scope was for or what was to be done. I left the office in tears and having a panic attack. I am so sorry for other people who have encountered the same experience. I have never experienced another doctor do anything without explaining what they were going to do first. Completely unprofessional and rude. I need an ENT desperately but I am so afraid to go back to that office.

I am mortified after my recent trip to this ear, nose, and throat facility. I was treated like I wasn’t even human by Dr. Ruthann Lipman. My feelings were degraded because I previously had Covid-19, however I had quarantined and was cleared by the health board to be seen, as well as had my temperature checked upon entering the building. This appointment was nearly a month after I had been exposed to Covid. Let me add that my visit to this office was completely unrelated to having anything to do with the virus. I was actually referred there by my family doctor who was aware of my previous affliction and cleared me to be seen because I was no longer contagious, per CDC guidelines. I was simply there to have some wax cleared from my ears. Dr Ruthann Lipman came into the room, questioning me first about the virus instead of focusing on the reason I came. I understood her concern and proceeded to tell her I was symptom-free and cleared by my doctor. I tried to ask a question about my vertigo and she spoke very nasty and told me that those were not ear problems. She aggressively started cleaning my right ear (the ear I was having most of the problems with) without telling me to stay still and then yelled at me “Stop moving or you’re going to make me blow your eardrum!” Then proceeds to say also very snarky “I’m not trying to be in this room longer than I have to be, and I didn’t clean your right ear out all the way; You can just do it at home” Then says she didn’t know why they let me schedule and come in and that I shouldn’t be in the building. I felt so small and speechless. I wanted to cry. I was masked, I was polite, and most of all, I was cleared by the health department!! I have no symptoms other than my one ear that keeps bothering me, which isnt said to even be related to the coronavirus! Then when I got up, having enough of her mistreatment, she said “Good I don’t care” and continues to belittle me saying “We don’t know enough about this virus, for all we know you could be getting us sick!” Meanwhile I don’t have one sign of being sick, my temperature is normal, my heart and oxygen levels are fine and the hospital said everything looked great. I couldnt believe it. And when I tried to tell her my situation further so shed feel more at ease, she said she didn’t want to hear it. This whole thing had me in tears and feeling humiliated in the office. I was so taken aback that I didnt even know how to initially respond. It left me absolutely speechless. I didn’t even get my ears properly cleaned! Ultimately, I had to go see Dr. Carol who handled everything much more professionally. I DO NOT recommend Dr Ruthann Lipman! She lacked empathy and general understanding of bedside manner! To make matters worse: When I went home and called to speak with the office manager, wanting disciplinary action, he basically told me that there was nothing that could be done about it because Dr Ruthann Lipman is the daughter of another doctor! He would simply let her know I called and what my concerns were! I feel so helpless in this situation so I decided to write a review as a warning for those who may encounter this same unprofessional, uncaring doctor. I do not feel comfortable ever stepping foot back inside that office again and I will tell anyone who will listen about the way I was treated!

It has taken me three years to get my 80 year old mother to agree to get a hearing test for a much needed hearing aid. Getting her to any appointment means leaving work early for me. While driving from work to pick her up for todays appointment, my mom calls to say that Dr Lipmans office called and cancelled her appointment. She stated that Dr. Lipmans office called earlier stating that they had a cancellation and requested her to come in earlier. When she stated she needed to wait for a ride, the office called back 45 minutes later and said that the doctor got called out for a consultation and they need to cancel her appointment. REALLY?? I know its the Friday before the long holiday weekend. Not very professional. I hope your office enjoyed their early dismissal at the expense of my mom.Happy Labor Day weekend!
