Upper body inspection. Got in on time. The nurse was good and Dr. Shelnitz took her time in explaining what she was doing and asked me about any concerns that I had. I showed her a spot on my leg and she took care of it.She has taken care of my dermatology needs for years and I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor.

Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This was our first time visiting this Elmhurst clinic and we felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. The Nurses and Doctor explained everything that was going to happen before it happened and then again as it was happening. All the after care info was explained in detail that I anyone could easily understand and upon leaving the Nurse and Doctor reminded me they were just a call away if I had any questions or concerns. Thank you!!

Professional, thorough, and compassionate are the best words to describe Dr Shelnitz. She has spotted problems before they happened and I feel she always has my medical best interest first and foremost.

Dr. Shelnitz is so very competent. I trust her completely with my skin. I had a stage 4 melanoma years ago and am committed to regular checkups with Dr. Shelnitz. I respect her expertise; and thus, have much confidence in her decision-making and her judgement when examining or treating me.

Timely (actually early), efficiently screened for COVID before being taken to room. Thorough exam and treatment.

My insurance changed and I was required to find a new dermatologist in my network. There were few options, however I prefer female practioners and my appointment with Dr. Lori Shelnitz was scheduled several months out. The Covid-19 pandemic stretched that out for several more months. Dr. Shelnitz was worth the wait. She is professional & kind. Thank you!

I wish to share a recent experience I had with Elmhurst Memorial Hospital (now Edward-Elmhurst Health) and My Dermatologist, Dr. Shelnitz. Dr. Shelnitz is located on Shiller St. in Elmhurst. The sign on the building says clinic.Per my history, I see a dermatologist every 6 months. Shaving a small bump to be sent out for a biopsy (lab not associated with Elmhurst Memorial) and spraying a spot with liquid nitrogen is very common - for any dermatologist. This is something done during an office visit scheduled for an exam. I had two shavings done for biopsy and 4 spots sprayed with nitrogen. In the past, only Dr. Shelnitz billed, but in 2015 I started getting facility charge for Elmhurst Memorial for $148. This time, per my insurance, I am being billed for out patient surgery for $459.Also, I pointed out a spot on my leg to Dr Shelnitz and told her it was tender. She said it was nothing. Two months later I went to a new Dermatologist not associated with Elmhurst Memorial. That spot is squamous cancer.
