I was referred to Dr. Lee to correct my lower eye lashes from going under my lower eyelid. At the time of my consultation, I was very nervous and did not know what to expect. When I left Dr. Lee’s office, I knew exactly what to expect from my surgical procedure. I had already been scheduled with another Dr. for a second opinion later in the month. When I consulted with the second Dr., I left his office more confused and scared about the procedure. This Dr.’s staff did not communicate effectively with me. I selected Dr. Lee and his staff to perform my surgical procedure. Dr. Lee performed my surgery at the Snowden River Surgery Center. Everything went superbly and without any post-operative complications. Everything he said would happen did happen. He called me personally the next day to see how I was doing and told me to contact him if I had any questions or problems. I am very happy with the surgery results. I have normal function of my lower lid and eyelashes. His office staff were friendly, responsive and effective in communication. Without hesitation I highly recommend Dr. Lee and his staff to look at any eye issues you may have.

I was referred to Dr. Lee by my primary eye Dr for some issues I was having with my eyelids. At the consultation he was extremely pleasant and professional explaining everything that he could do for me. He even submitted the necessary documentation to my insurance company and they covered everything ! He also explained that my pre-existing health conditions might delay recovery and provided guidance on how to minimize that. My procedure went flawlessly at the Snowden River Surgery Center. I was concerned about post op pain and didn’t even have to take Tylenol. He called me personally the next day to see how I was doing. I was also given his cell phone number and encouraged to contact him if I had any questions or problems. Unfortunately, through no fault of his, I had a reaction to the antibiotic ointments. I contacted him and he immediately sent new prescriptions to my pharmacy and I picked up quickly. During one of my follow up visits, he removed my stitches and I never felt a thing. The bruising and swelling have now reduced and I’m extremely pleased with the results. I also have to mention that his office staff are extremely friendly and responsive. I was concerned about having in person appointments and a procedure during COVID, but everything was sanitized and they followed CDC guidance. I couldn’t be more happy. I highly recommend Dr. Lee.

Long story short, I’m so glad I found Dr. Lee and had my lid correction done with him!I was told ever since my first glasses appointment in middle school that my lashes rub my eye. It wasn’t till I wanted lasik and was declined until I had this issue fixed that I started to think about getting it corrected, but I was 22 then and not concerned. I was fine with my contacts and scared of surgery. Also, until then, my contacts always protected my cornea, so it didn’t really bother me except for some occasional blurriness and visual field blockage which I would just raise my eyebrows to get around. Literally in pictures from when I was a toddler, I am raising my eyebrows to see.I’m so glad I waited the 15 years that I did and found Dr. Lee. He and his office staff are great are amazing! I am beyond happy!I finally decided to seriously pursue getting this corrected after my optometrist told me, last year, that I was showing signs of early corneal vascularization due to my constant contact lens use. I hate using glasses not only because they are annoying to have on my face, but when I did wear them, then the lashes would irritate my eyes. The contacts kept me from feeling the continual “eyelash in my eye” feeling. This procedure was plastic, not cosmetic, and supposed to be covered by my insurance, but the insurance company made a major error when the office verified it with them. Even I called Cigna, myself, prior to the procedure to check on it. After working in doctor’s offices for the longest, I am familiar with how some ins companies can be and with how coverages of these kinds of procedures work, so I wanted to be sure. Cigna said it was all good, but in the end it ended up not being covered. Not MD Eye’s fault. They actually went above and beyond to get it covered for me. Cigna actually ended up contacting me and saying that they acknowledge that there was medical need for the procedure, but due to the plan, it wouldn’t be covered regardless of necessity… which was NOT in any of the paperwork or documentation I scoured. But even with this headache, I would still 100% do it again.I am so happy with being able to see and not having to subconsciously raise my eyebrows every waking hour. I never realized how life changing it would be to not have so much of my vision blocked when my brow would be at rest. It sounds like an exaggeration, but truly it is not. I have NEVER been able to have a full visual field, and now I do. The change to my face is so subtle, just as I wanted it, but makes the biggest difference! I’d say I wish I got everything done earlier, but perhaps I wouldn’t have found Dr. Lee, so I’m glad it all played out as it did!(THIS IS NOT A REGARDING DR. LEE’S OFFICE, but is related to the procedure in regards to the Snowden River Surgical Center:)All this being said, the only issue I had was with the surgical center and billing, the papers and forms I was given to sign did not fully disclose charges and the number I was told, In Writing, that I would have to pay was not what I was billed. So, I fully had a picture in my head of what I thought I would owe out of pocket for the procedure, which I was totally fine with, and then I was thrown an extra charge I was not aware of. Actually this extra charge was more than the other charges, so I was not pleased, to say the least. The paper with the financial disclosure and potential out of pocket charge was even circled by the nurse so it was clear that I saw and knew what the out of pocket charge, in addition to Dr. Lee’s, may be. I thought I was well informed.I happily paid the charges I was aware of and was immediately billed, and then I got a surprise bill almost 5 months later. Of course, I don’t mind paying for services rendered, but I insist on full disclosure. In the end, money can always be reacquired and my vision and protecting my cornea is worth it. I just wish I was given a complete picture by the surgical center staff.
