They always charge you Family Rates, doesnt matter if youre alone.Price 26$ + TAX with a tent and without electric. The shower and toilets are really run-down.If you have a barking dog you have to leave.Im wondering why the also noisy animals that are kept here are still here. The positive:Nice old trees that give shadow in the summer.

Bathrooms are like a Nazi gas chamber. For $460 a month they could at least pump the sewer weekly (they say they do it 3 times a week) in the past 2 weeks they have pumped it one time. They dont mow any of it. We mowed the vacant lot next to us to try to reduce the amount of bugs. Then a camper pulls in there and plugs into the same power outlet as us. The power is $60/month for the past 2 months. Sounds a little much for a tiny truck camper. Looking for elsewhere to stay. Would rather camp on the side of a road. Definitely not a family campground. Stray cats that are not friendly everywhere!

Horrible place!! I was homeless a few times and Lived here 3 times. Once in 2000, once in 2002 and once in 2003 . all times over a yr . Anita is horrible. As the owner she has horrible manners. Always has her favorites and they can do anything they want but make sure you do nothing wrong. Animals are allowed to run free and are not penned up , all but the Emu and Horses. She is always drunk and if you ask for her for any help expect attitude. I brought in lots of business for her or a few years ...my friends coming in to go camping and spend time with me. Drunks all over the place. A few years ago a 2 yr old drowned in the stream right behind the camp, they still havent put up a fence of any kind and they blame the parents. I know the parents and they turned around for a sec to grab food off a picnic table and the kid was gone. Almost a half mile of shoreline straight into the water. The bathrooms have always been nasty( bring a breathing mask) the mold is enough to gag ya. And they havent updated the shower since I was there in 2000. Your luck if ya get your toilet pumped! Also be prepared for the smell of animal feces as peacocks , cats and chickens are allowed to run free.

Didnt even get a reservation. Just called to check availability and then make one. I let them know that I had to work until 8pm and would be there after that. (5 minute drive from Elk River) We really do not like that and didnt make an effort to accommodate us. People work and even state parks have after hours check in!! Got the distinct impression that because we weret regulars that we didnt matter.

Just plain poor place. Lacks upkeep especially restrooms over all appearance poor. Not much for family camping ...plus if you stay a month they screw you good on electric

The bathrooms smelt as if someone died. very rude service at the office and too many personal questions as if they looked at my social media. Harassment when I thought camping was supposed to be fun and peaceful. All of management was drunk and mean.

Its ok if you just are staying for a few days, but we stayed months the electric there is bad in the summer it keepers popping main breakers. Your electric for a month is extremely high. The road coming in to the park and around the park is rough tons of pot holes. They tell you about all these rules and enforce none. Could be nice park if they would stick money back into it. We only stayed so long because it is the only year round camp ground around.

Look...It was 1992, I was a kid, 12 years old. Camping with the parents thing. The beach that wapiti offered back then was no more than a 20 foot sandy bank on the river. I remember being bored out of my mind the entire weekend, as our backwoods in Andover had far more adventure to be had. The folks as Shady River called it Watapity. The reviews I see here are split, but from the critical ones, I can tell nothing has changed. We vowed as a family never to return back then, and it doesnt sound worth a second chance. winter camping may be an entirely different thing.

The grass under the grill reached heights in excess of 2 feet, and the rest of the lawn had a healthy length of perhaps a foot. Peacocks roamed around without anyone watching. The bathrooms smelled not short of the swamps of Dagobah. 1/10 would not recommend.

It was not a good place for family camping. Great for a party camp ground though. We had a drunk guy come through our camp site and fall in to the back waters of the river and dam near drowned. We got him out and walked him back to his site but then he made a big fire and turned his radio way up. He was out there til atleast 3am. Needless to say we will never be going back there. To bad cause the people that own this place were great.

PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! unless your one of the owners favorite you should probably just camp in your car or at the nearest Wal-Mart. Be sure to check in at the office including any visitors that are coming to see you, other wise your chased down, cussed out & kicked out. The bath houses smell like a morgue, im pretty sure the animals there use it more than the guests. Yuck this place needs to be shut down for good.

Horrid. Just the worst. I got charged nearly 40$ for a primitive spot. No water or electric, and the grass was so tall it was full of mosquitos. There were PEACOCKS everywhere being loud and crapping everywhere. A 5 am train runs through the back of the campground. The shower area was questionable at best. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

This place is just completely filled with permanant crack shacks... Trains go by blairing their horns all hours of the night... Staff was more that useless seemed as though i wasnt from one of their crack dens so they had nothing for me... Bathrooms are covered from one end to another in mold so showers are pointless... Had some crackhead living in his van yell at my kids at like 7pm for being to loud and when i went to staff there was no one around just called the cops instead...but staff was around to tell me im not aloud to ride mini bikes.... Fished for 2 days only caught 5 fish.... I will never return to this campsite would rather throw the tent up in the backyard...

Open all year..thats a plus. Got here in January 2013.. very cold. Site was ready an waiting. Recommended by a friend . Lots nice an large. Not suppose to take dog off leash but walked my lab down by river no body was around so let him run , had 3 inches of snow on ground when we pulled in ...my lab was n doggie heaven .They have lots of animals , horses ,birds of different kinds. So wont let my lab run to freely . Even though i know he,d just chase not kill. But im sure they wouldnt like that...me neither ...All in all. Campground is back n woods so its secluded somewhat . And i would recommend to others . If your looking for more upscale .not here but i am not that picky. Price is reasonable also.. Owners very helpful ...so far..still here...Will say we had a hard time finding location . Our gps wasnt up to date .brought us to street its on but stopped shy of place ..sign on main road we didnt see ..snowy and nite time... More our fault ..
