Review №3

Im a relatively new patient here (as of this summer) but this doctors office has still gone out of their way to help me while Ive been sick. I cant thank them enough for how helpful they have all been. The people in the front office, the nurses, the nurse practitioner, and the doctor have all been very great and accommodating.UPDATE 10/23/2017: While the nurse practitioner and front office staff are all very lovely people, the doctor himself is absolutely cruel. I have never, in my life, been treated so horribly by a doctor. I ended up coming down with infectious mononucleosis/EBV—I have no idea how, considering that I don’t party or anything so my best guess is that at age 25 I finally ended up picking it up from somewhere in public. This particular illness has completely taken everything out of me. I have been burdened with fever, chills, extreme fatigue and abdominal pain that makes me feel as though my torso is full of glass. I have ended up in the emergency room due to sever abdominal pain that ended up being inflamed lymph nodes, spleen, and liver. I also can’t stress enough how absolutely weak this has made me.My first visit with Doctor McCleerey (after it came to light that I had mono and not an infection) was okay. He signed a paper to give me a 2 week medical leave so that I could recover. He told me that the effects of mono could last anywhere between days and months, depending on the person.I took the medical leave and tried to recover. I tried resting and drinking plenty of fluids. After 2 weeks my symptoms had changed minimally. So I returned to McCleerey a second time, in hopes that he would extend my medical leave so that I could continue recovering. He told me I might as well return to work, considering the lasting effects of mono could potentially leave me sick for several months. He said I might as well be getting paid in that time.Mind you, my job happens to be a physical one. My job requires me to walk between 6 and 24 miles/day and bend/heavy lifting etc. and there’s no way I could physically handle that if I can hardly even walk to the mailbox without becoming overwhelmingly fatigued. My husband and I pointed this out to Dr McCleerey, so he ended up extending my medical leave. He advised that I work on increasing my stamina in the meantime. So in that 2 weeks, I did everything he advised. I tried increasing my stamina by getting up, walking, doing some household chores. But every time I did this, my fever spiked and I had to take a few moments to rest. The abdominal pain was also severe. So I returned to Dr McCleerey again today, in hopes that he’d listen to me when I tell him that I will not be physically capable of doing my job. Not only was my temperature not even taken (because that would have likely been a tell-all) but before I could even tell him about some of my symptoms these past two weeks, he pushes me and my husband out of the door and practically yells at us saying that he absolutely will not extend my medical leave. When telling him I’d likely lose my job because I wouldn’t be able to keep up, he says “get a new job then” as if that’s an option for just everyone. I’ve been at my job for 6 years. For someone with a PhD, he seems to lack the mental capacity to comprehend that not everyone works in a cubicle. My job has meant a lot to me these past 6 years, but because of this careless doctor I may very well be losing it soon.I don’t understand what I did to deserve the level of disrespect that this doctor presented to me. I absolutely don’t recommend him as a family doctor to anyone that I care about.
