I love this place. After years of looking for a place that “fits” me and my needs I finally found a place that helps me and cares about my treatment. Amazing. I totally appreciate everything they have done for me and my mental health

I moved to the area last Sept. Since January of this year (9 months) I have reached Out no less than 7 times- I called multiple, multiple times, trying to get an appointment for myself and my son. I have filled out the information on the website, Ive emailed them and asked them to contact me via phone, email, or text, and not once have I received a call back. The 2 times I did talk to someone on the phone and tried to make an appointment, they put me on hold, came back on the line, took my name and number and said someone would call me back. No one ever called me back. Its very disappointing and disheartening. I need help and my son needs help as well. Obviously, Im looking into other places but not many places can treat my specific illness.

I took off work for a month due to my mental health. I requested an appointment with astra the day after I got on leave and they said they’d call me back the next week. It took two weeks and I had to call them to finally schedule one. I asked them to fill out a paper for my job to say that I took leave because of my mental health and that I could return at a specific day. They denied it. They wouldn’t fill out the paper work. And I currently now have no job. My job fired me because my doctor wouldn’t fill out a paper to let them know that I needed medical help. This place is trash. Then they wanted me to pay $200 dollars for an appointment that took 45 mins. Yeah no.

My daughter has been seen once, her following appointment had to be rescheduled due to therapist having something come up. I explained she was out of her medication so they made an appointment with the provider which then was rescheduled because they couldn’t find her intake packet. So I emailed intake packet AGAIN, and when I called to ask why I hadn’t received her call they said no one put my daughter in for the other appointment. So they then tried to schedule a week out. I don’t think the receptionists truly understand how hard this can be for a child going through all that she has. Absolutely ridiculous.

They are nice, other then that they are very disorganized and lacking work ethic. Appointments are often fumbled due to inattention or bad communication. No one seems to pay attention to inbound results and/or requests from outside companies such as your pharmacy or labs. With so much work needing done I dont understand the consistent nature of just sitting around. Ive been waiting a month to get my medicine approved which come to find out that my pharmacy was waiting on Astra this whole time. They have cancelled my appointments with less then 10 min until start time, even after I drove there. They have scheduled me with a nurse on a day that she doesnt even work. They took 3 weeks longer then they said to get my test results back, and now Im a month past that waiting on my meds. I was originally referred to just get genetic testing but was told I had to see a therapist as well. Idk, I really like the people themselves in the sense that we could chill at a bonfire but as far as getting help in a place where they should be extremely helpful, very unsatisfactory as of now.

Awful, my Dr retired so I went to Astra, terrible experience no doctor patient appointments only video calls that didnt work...I was seeing my other Dr for 20 years and Astra didnt want to see my records, he wouldnt continue to prescribe one of my medications so he gave me a high dose antihistamine and another anxiety medication that had serious interactions already known but he disregarded that and prescribed it anyway even with my concerns that I shared with him so interactions occurred and his answer was to up the dose which I refused due to the already severity of my symptoms, and the medications I was already taking he never got the dosagecorrect even after multiple times telling him what the correct dosage was,Again awful I wouldnt recommend these physicians to anyone, the staff was great, spot on even the refill nurse agreed with me on my medication issues... but yeah awfulAnd after all this they sent me a bill, so I referred them to my lawyer

Made an appointment with my therapist here because i need to talk to them so they can refill my anti depressants and anxiety medicine, they said it would be today (i havent had my meds in about 2 weeks) they said that they would schedule it for today since something came up with the therapist yesterday, then called back and said that it would have to be later in the day, then when we called them to ask why they havent called they had said that nobody scheduled my appointment and that we would have to wait until june 1st. literally ridiculous. by then i wont have taken my meds in 3 weeks almost 4 😐.

I had an appointment in July, the day before my appointment it got canceled. I had an appointment scheduled for August and now they canceled it also! Now I have an appointment for the end of September! This office is very unorganized!! It needs to be taken over by someone that knows how to run it!

I have Dr Ahmad as a doctor his punctuality is always behind and always late and behind and rescheduling appointments because he is either left or it wasnt there on time this ridiculous to be an hour to 2 hours behindAnd when you ask to speak to his supervisor to make a complaint you were ignored and gave the runaround

I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PLACE MY LAST THREE TELLAHEALTH APPOINTMENTS WAS BY PHONE ONLY NO CAMERA AND WHEN I PICKED A COPY UP OF WHAT WE HAD TALKED ABOUT THEY PUT THAT I WAS LOOKING GOOD AND IN A HAPPY MOOD HOW COULD THEY TELL HOW I WAS DOING WHEN THEY COULD NOT SEE ME IN PERSON JUST VOICE ONLY SO I WENT ELSE WHERE TO FIND THE SERVICES THAT I NEEDED BECAUSE I WASTED THREE MONTHS OF MY TIME WITH OUT GETTING THE HELP THAT I NEEDED

There’s absolutely nothing wrong reaching out for help. Astra has been there for me and my family. They are kind, they listen, and really talk to you. I would recommend them to anyone in need. They are a great group of people to work with. Thank You

Couldnt even get an appointment. Filled out lengthy intake and then staff repeatedly failed to enter it into the system. Im told it was because of covid and everyone working from home. They may be at home but certainly are not working. You cant even get a return phone call. Lost 2 weeks at a time when I really needed the help. Thanks 😊

I have never in my life been in a building full or such lazy and dismissive ‘psychiatrists’. people working here do not actually care about their patients and it’s so obvious. my husband and i throughout the past year and a half have had nothing but trouble contacting our psychiatrists, even in emergency situations contacting medication. if you want real help, avoid this place. seriously. before they harm you with their lack of knowledge.

My son has been going to Astra for about a year. His caseworker is marvelous she goes above and beyond the call of duty, thank you Crystal Rice. However, getting in touch with any of the therapist or medical staff is horrid. The office owns at 8. Ill call astound 8:30 and still get the closed message. When someone does pick up Ill get bounced around a couple of times then told that the person Im trying to reach will can me shortly. 2-3 days later Ill call back,since no one called me, and the cycle starts a new. I have to have my sons case worker reach out to the medical staff in order to have them can me back.The staff is very friendly and do a great job with my son, they just need to work on doing better with calling people back.

Ok so I was initially happy with them when I started. The man that gave me my prescription is awesome and I enjoyed my talks with him. On the other hand, I have had 4 separate appointments now to talk to someone named candace. Each time I have not been able to get through. I call the office and they say tob call back in a few minutes and each call I get more b.s.

Highly recommend somewhere else. They ignored the fact my wife was close to having a panic attack in front of them, they canceled her appointment and did not bother to tell her after she called back and confirmed it the day before. Office supervisor I guess was extremely rude to me for absolutely no reason and word is no one sees and actual psychiatrist at this office. TBH communicare staff is far better then these ppl since when is it appropriate for mental health workers to say oh yeah fill this out and we will get you out of here quickly

I was first introduced to Astra after my second stent being admitted to Lincoln Trail for severe depression Anxiety and Manic episodes...It would be an understatement to say I was a total basket case going thru the worst part of my life...I can Honestly say I dont know where I would be if not for the care of Dr Ahmad and my therapist Sandy...The girls at the front desk have always went above and beyond to help out when needed...All I have to say is Thank you to the doctors and staff who have and continue to give me excellent care.

My son sees Joy Campbell and Kimberly White there and I love them both. They do a great job. I would give them 5 stars, but sometimes it is hard to get an appointment with Kimberly. Sometimes I have to wait a while, but that is not really anyones fault because they are busy I am sure. I feel like as a parent, they really listen to my concerns and take them seriously.

Highly recommend. Great staff, and they actually care.

Im editing this because they STILL havent given me my rightfully deserved retroactived money (Id give a negative if I could); not to mention the DISRESPECT I received from them, when I was patient and even then after. They are a DISGRACE to behavior health. I have not had a problem with getting any other retroactives. This is a LAWFUL MATTER and will be acknowledged.

I have been going there for years and finally decided to go somewhere else. The people at the front desk have always been rude and seem like they could care less about their jobs. One time I went to my pharmacy and they were shocked when they saw what the doctor prescribed to me. Two of the medications could have caused very bad side effects. Im hoping I find an office that cares about its patients. I would stay away from this place.

After weeks & weeks of calling to schedule an appointment with no luck i was finally able to reach out and get one scheduled through counseled referral. Today, i get to my appointment 20 minutes earlier than i was told to fill out paperwork. I walk up and hand them my insurance card and drivers license and due to a legal name change my ID in March my insurance card doesn’t match my new license yet. They said no problem just bring in my new insurance card when i get it all squared away. I hadn’t sat down for literally 2 seconds to start filling out my first name and Samantha (??) calls me back. Her initial approach seemed nice and approachable but that quickly changed once we stepped in her office and the door slammed shut. For the next 58 minutes it was the most uncomfortable feeling i have ever experienced in a professional mental health agency. She looked at the computer screen the entire time, which is fine because that is part of her job duties I’m sure. The problem i have rises when i try to add, explain or ask a question and she disregards me entirely. She came across to me as very judgemental like she knew me more than i knew myself and how i feel. To the point where i wondered why if she knew so much about me why wasn’t she a psychic and why am i here? Then, she pulled out her book on borderline since i have a bipolar diagnosis and said she didn’t think i had bipolar but that she felt it was borderline (again, that’s her profession so i trusted her to feel that way for a reason.) and at first only tried to prescribe me meds for my anxiety and depression when my main issue right now is unstable moods. She said she doesn’t see bipolar in me but literally met me 45 minutes ago for the first time. Luckily, 2 family members came with me that live with me came with me to my appointment. By this point i was frustrated and irritated so i called them in the waiting room to come back and talk to her so that they could explain to her the real “me” and how my moods are very fluctuate at home. She said that was fine but continued to give weird, odd, and uncomfortable looks so i proceeded towards the door and dropped my unfinished application with not even my whole first name completed and walked out. In the first 45 minutes that i was in her office we got into a small argument three times which she could easily tell i was irritated and getting angry (and i could definitely feel the heat and pulsating in my brain) the looks i received, the side comments, the approach, and the negative vibes are why i will not be returning to this practice. I am seeing the same for the receptionist as well which personally i had no issues with their attitudes were just off. If i could give a -100 i would. Waste of time.

Great place for anyone struggling with mental health problems. Im very comfortable with the staff including my therapist Claire and Dr. Joy Campbell.

The psychiatrists and therapists are wonderful.

Poor communication between providers and office staff. Can never get through on the telephone and never receive a call back when you do get through
