This emergency room is horrible and provides horrendous care. My 8 month pregnant wife was suffering from severe Covid symptoms, mainly difficulty breathing and high fever. After checking in, she kept being told they were waiting for a nurse after 45 minutes of waiting. We ended up leaving to visit St Peter’s instead.Do not go to this ER if you want to actually get help. They do not care what happens to you!

I’m not from the area but it was necessary to go to Trinitas Emergency Room due to extreme arm and leg pain. When I arrived I received prompt, thorough and compassionate care. Thanks to Dr. James Hakim and the ER staff, I was evaluated and admittance to the hospital was recommended. After a short stay, I was given a diagnosis and a follow up plan. Thanks again for the outstanding care.

Worst emergency room ever. Staff dont care if you are sick. All they do is gossip with each other. The so call Practicing doctor are very rude and they dont listen to what you are saying, if you tell them that you are feeling a certain way, they look at you with an attitude and ignore you completely. The only reason I went there today because my child had a high fever and had stomachache.it is a few blocks away form my house.. but never again.. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS ER.

This hospital does not test for covid. If you come in with covid related symptoms, they ask if you tested positive, youll answer and if you say you dont know then they tell you to go to Kean University. Theres nothing separating you from covid infected people except maybe some curtains if youre lucky to be in a room alone. The staff are also very unprofessional when speaking to patients and amongst themselves. I actually heard my nurse telling her coworkers that another nurse slashed her tires. All around a negative experience. If you can avoid coming here, please do so.

I went to the ER today at 5 am. I was experiencing extreme abdominal pain, I usually have this pain from time to time but never excruciating. This time it was unbearable and had gradually became worst throughout the day and night before. It go to the point I wanted to cry because I could not even sleep, I was extremely dehydrated, sleep deprived, and had been violently vomitting, I couldnt keep even water down when I would drink it. The ER front desk women were super professional and swift, it helped that the ER was empty. When I was placed in my room the nurses were so professional, definitely made me feel at ease. I just was in excruciating pain and I was very needy unfortunately., but they remained calm and made sure they continued questioning me to give me the proper medicines. I honestly felt like I was going to pass out. I couldnt sleep for more than 10 to 20 minutes without waking up. I wanted to cry but I was too dehydrated. I had never experienced extreme pain on a regular day like this. I wont go into too much detail but I was in horrible condition. I couldnt even look presentable because of the pain I was in, I never want to look unpresentable in the case I am labeled differently and my treatment becomes neglectful because of my appearance, as this has happened at another hospital. Trinitas employees stayed professional and worked well with me. Only critique is that it felt like ages in between visits to my room by doctors or nurses, I felt like I needed alot of attention. As I was scared because I had never been super sick like this for cramps. They helped me so much and really deserve raises, acknowledgement, and really should be proud of themselves. Thank you soo much. It took almost 34+ hours to actually regain strength in my body. I can now sleep, and drink water without pain.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE if youre elderly, do not go to this hospital! The staff DO NOT CARE about the elderly. My 88 year old mother went in for something minor & her condition just escalated. She died in that hospital less than a week later. Within that time, we saw so many doctors I cant count them all. None of them communicated with each other so we kept getting different information. Some were vague, others were better, but we still got different info from each one. The only info that was consistent was that she was going to die.Nurses barely took the time to make my mother comfortable. They were too lazy to cut the brace off her arm to administer the morphine drip, so they weaved it through. 3 hours later, my mother is writhing & screaming in pain. It took for us to yell at a nurse that this was inhumane, there must be something wrong for her to do something. Thats when she realized the morphine was dripping out onto the bed & not into her vein. Then the morphine bag was empty - thank God one of us noticed & had a nurse to replace it. Of course, we have to wait for the doctor to write a script & the pharmacist to fill it. When asked how long that will take - we were told the usual answer of I dont know. That nurse should have known to order another bag well before we noticed.I could go on & on, but I will end with this kicker. My mother stopped breathing - not being professionals - my sister went to get a nurse to confirm she had died. She literally asked the nurse I think my mother just died, can you come & confirm? That lazy nurse continued to sit in front of her monitor to read her emails. Five minutes passed until I went out screaming that someone needs to come in this room & tell us if our mother is dead! She rolled her eyes & followed me into the room while telling me its the doctors job to confirm time of death. She checked for a pulse, didnt find one & said Yes, your mother is dead. Walked out of the room without offer any condolences whatsoever. No compassion - nothing!I grew up in Elizabeth, was born in that hospital (when it was St. Elizabeths) went to school across the street & was taught by the nuns that ran that hospital. It was a hospital to be proud of & was known to offer excellent & decent service. IT IS A SHAME WHAT HAS BECOME OF THIS HOSPITAL SINCE IT BECAME TRINITAS. I will (and have) told anyone I come into contact with to never, ever send anyone there or go there yourself - especially if you are elderly. I should have known better to send my mother there since my father died in that cesspool 1.5 years ago & he recd similar treatment - SHAME ON ME!!!

I love this ER! The doctors are so friendly and see to your needs as soon as possible. It’s beautiful inside after the renovation and I recommend it to all my friends in the area. Don’t listen to the negative reviews, it’s probably uneducated, disenfranchised yokels expecting service for free.

I was visiting from Ohio for my brothers wedding when I got sick. Didnt know it at the time but I had stage 4 endometriosis.. when the ambulance came, the equipment didnt work and they spent 30 minutes trying to get me in it before they decided to call another unit. I was all of 104 lbs...when I got to the hospital, jammed packed is a severe understatement. Patients lined the halls in beds and chairs... I was vomiting as I sat in a chair on the floor near the nurse station.. there was no privacy at all. My IV was put in there, and I was medicated there several times for pain. I was never seen by a doctor. They had me so doped up off high narcotics that I was sliding out of the chair..a family member came to check on me and decided to take me home since I wasnt being cared for. I was just being doped up..I will never go there again. They will let you die or turn you into a drug addict. Know idea why some medical board has not stepped in to do something about that place..

THIS IS THE WORST EMERGENCY ROOM EVER!!!! If I could give a negative star I would. This hospital should be ashamed of of theirselves! The staff acts like they can’t be bothered. They don’t care at all about what’s going on with you.The waiting room during late hours looks like a campground for the homeless and drug addicts!Unless you keep going up to the desk and stay in their face they’ll forget you’re even here! Terrible!!They need to fire everyone and bring in a well trained staff!

I’m changing my review because I went on the 7/6/19 with my newborn daughter (3 days old) to the ER because her face was turning yellowing, so I thought she my be jaundice. So I know the need to check her bilirubin level to know for sure... so after waiting for more than a hour finally the doctor meet us she told me that the don’t do testing in newborns, that if she was jaundice, anyway she would have to been transfer to another hospital because they do not have a pediatric wing. I ask her to at least to perform the test, and she told me that they won’t do it. So I say ok, thank you and I left. Then when I was waiting for my husband to pick up us, outside of the emergency entrance, she went there to tell me that if I want to, they can do the test. I went to a different hospital. If they don’t treat small babies why they made me wait, they should tell me ASAP.

If it was possible you would probably get better service at an veterinarian hospital/clinic then Trini-Trash. They will over charge for just being there. I love how am chest xray cost me about 70.I wasnt mad about that cost but a a year simple check up on an infection took 3 hours and they did nothing except give 3 OTC pills and a bill of 900. Charity care only covered 150 even though the billing department said Charity care would cover completely.

They deserve zero stars. Nightime staff including doctors are HORRIBLE. They dont care about patients, dont check up on them, nurses were gossiping in hallway and saying how much they hate it there, both Drs and nurses were rude and didnt even introduce themselves or explain anything....STAY AWAY FROM THIS E.R. Only reason the person was here was bc his primary Dr ( who works in the building) sent him to e.r right away. Never again.

DONT GO TO TRINITAS EMERGENCYwalked in creaming crying could hardly stand straight I could not sit from severe nerve damage to my back. The front desk woman looks at me and said “mam go have a seat” after I already explained I need a bed ASAP. So I decided to lay on the floor since it was the only option for me.they complained about me laying down. No remorse at all!! When inside nurses were great, but they treated me wrong.I came in with severe pain not from spams but from my herniated discs. They decided to give me one Percocet and a super strong muscle relaxer that till now 35hrs later I cannot feel my lower extremities. Imagine not bein able to know if your urinating or not. It’s the worst experience in my life. I k ow if I went somewhere else this would not happen.
