I just called asking a general question and the lady on the phone was extremely rude to me. If their customer service is bad, I can only imagine why they have 2 out of 5 stars.

The wait time is atrocious. I had a 3:30 appointment, and wasnt taken back to a room until almost 4:30. I watched multiple people, many who came in after me, get seen and leave in a timely manner. I went there for a Nexplanon insertion, and was called to the back only to be informed, that they did not have one on hand for me, and if I could come back tomorrow. I told the lady no, I could not as I had already taken time off from work, and could not take anymore time off to come back. When I called to make the appointment, they should have made sure that one was on hand for me. The lady was able to find one that was available, but still the situation was just ridiculous, and had someone done their job, this would have never happened. When I finally was called back to a room to wait for the doctor, I was taken from one side of the building, that had cool air, to a room on the other side of the building that didnt have adequate air conditioning. I didnt leave until closing time, for a procedure that took less than two minutes. Overbooking patients seems to be an issue, as well as having a proper number of staff on hand.

Dr. Moncla is insensitive and a shame to the establishment. I loved going throughout the years and seeing Ashley and Monifa for my routine visits, but when I had to go see Moncla for a health concern visit is past week he completely minimized my concerns and brushed them off as no big deal. I left feeling more hurt and confused by the appointment and I will never go back to this medical establishment simply because of the treatment I received by this provider. An establishment that doesnt teach their doctors family and patient centered approaches but instead lets them belittle their patients is not an establishment I could ever support.

I will start by saying that the doctors here are wonderful. In fact, the staff as a whole are very nice. They do not, however, EVER answer the phone. This can be very frustrating as women have lives and do not live to call their obgyn 15 times before they even get an answer. There is no option to hold for a receptionist. Honestly every time I go in the place I feel horrible for the girls answering the phones. There are 2 to 3 of them and they are constantly going. The wait times are also ridiculous! Ive been going here for 8 years and it has gotten significantly worse. Again, the staff is very very nice! Just very hard to get in touch with, which can be scary for pregnant women.

Made a appointment with this office in December 2017 and ended up finding a new doctor after recieving a email from them to confirm my appointment in January 2018. I called that afternoon to cancel, they were closed. I left a voicemail message saying I wanted to cancel my appointment for that Monday. Fast fwd: just received a bill in the mail for a no show fee. I called the billing department to address the concern and the billing coordinator said that leaving a voicemail was not a acceptable way to cancel my appointment and it was my responsibility to call back on Monday to cancel....well just to say I am so glad I did not start going to this office because they seem to have things a little confused about practice etiquette. I am not sure all the ends and outs of how medical offices work but I am pretty sure they should have returned my call. They did away with the fee, but the lady on the line said next time don’t leave a voicemail to cancel a appointment....oh trust me there won’t be a next time. Anyway be careful with this Office, not sure they have good customer service and judging by some of the other reviews other people feel the same way.

I love Dr. Moncla and all of the providers here. They were amazing with me when I had my baby. I would recommend them to anyone.

Rude staff, unwilling to answer basic questions or schedule an appointment that would work for me. They even charged me a fee for an appointment I canceled. Makes you feel like a criminal for seeking basic gynecologic care. DO NOT GO HERE! I would never trust these people with something as important as my unborn childs health.

Beyond shocked to come across bad reviews of this practice. They are amazing!!! Dr Moncla is so smart and caring, really listens to what his patients want and need. The midwives are also amazing. The nursing staff are always the sweetest, really truly care!! Dr Moncla delivered my 4 year old via section, and my care was wonderful. Now with baby number 2 I cried when i found out I have to deliver at Norfolk due to cardiac issues, but Dr Moncla has been so supportive and is continuing as my primary OB until i have to deliver. Best practice. Best OB. Best Nurses. Best Ultrasound Tech.

It took me an HOUR to get done what I came for: a blood test. Didnt really need to see doctor Moncla. No new information for me or a need to talk to a doctor at that point. Just needed the blood to be drawn for hCG test. Thats it.Not pleasant feelings about this place overall.I think the favourite part was to talk to a receptionist - nice cheerful lady!

Dr. Moncla and his staff are amazing! I had a miscarriage in 2016 and shortly following my miscarriage Dr. Moncla removed a cyst on my left ovary. I was covered under pregnancy medicaid at the time of my cyst removal however it was not considered pregnancy related therefore I ended up with a $5000 + bill. Dr. Moncla wrote off my total bill because he is just that awesome!! Also the way that Dr. Moncla and his staff handled my miscarriage was beyond enough of a reason to make me never want to leave his practice! Its safe to say I LOVE THIS PRACTICE! If you have had a bad experience with this office you are probably the issue and not the practice itself

This is the second time theyve tried to charge me $25 for a missed appointment. But they keep scheduling my appointments without my knowledge. They have a new system that is different from the phone calls that is ineffective. And after talking with one of the receptionists, she refused to drop the charge. So, I gladly moved to a new OBGYN and will not waste my time there anymore. ☺️

I just had an experience at Northeastern OB-GYN in Elizabeth City that rocked my world! I had to choose a new OB-GYN because my old one in Chesapeake is no longer in my network. I was recommended to this place via fb. Well I made my appointment last week for today. My apt time was 9:30am they said to get here 15 mins early. I did my pre-registration on line Monday when they sent the link. I arrived this morning at 9:06am. There were only two people in the waiting room when I arrived. I watched the room fill up and empty twice! They were calling people to the back left and right! So around 10:05am I went to the window asked did they forget I was there she said no. I sat down went to their page on FB to read some reviews then I wrote my own review about my wait. Well they called me to the back. I got weighed in, BP checked, and sent to a room where I undressed. Im sitting there in the gown the nurse knocks and said the Dr. is prepping someone for surgery hes running behind. Less than three mins he walks in ANGRY! HIS FACE WAS RED! He said this is not the place for you, I do not tolerate bad reviews, I will not be treating you I said excuse me? He said you wrote a review on FB under our page and this is not the place for you get out!. I said no problem at all but this is not how you treat a bad review especially in the medical field. This was the most unprofessional experience Ive had in my life! And they lied! He wasnt prepping for surgery he was on FB! How the heck he see the review so quickly!! This man denied me service! Told me to get out! AFTER they asked me to undress and wait for him! VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Dr. Moncla very rude!

My phone call was answered really good and I was given good custumer service over the phone.

This is my 5 th pregnancy and I have not liked my OB/GYN since Ive been going there! The midwifes arent very nice and Dr. Moncla just has a nonshaulaunt attitude.. Seems like every appointment is just to hear babys heartbeat then they send me on my way!! With all my pregnancies ALL of them Ive had 3 ultrasounds 1 to find out how far along I was 1 to find out the sex of the baby and 1 to find out approximately the babies weight! All my babies have been good sizes and I have no clue how big my baby is or if he is breach or what!!

Dr. Keeler is wonderful, a great listener and truly treats you as a valued individual. The nurses and staff are supportive and more than willing to work with you.

I am suffering from infertility and in my quest to get pregnant, I was recommended to Dr. Moncla as an OBGYN. This was my first visit to an OBGYN and at my appointment he asked if we had any questions and I told him about my anxiety issues. All I did was tell him I’ve had a panic disorder for 10 years and been on xanax for just as long. I told him that I had tried other medicines and I was just worried about being able to get pregnant or maintain a pregnancy with the level of anxiety that I have… and I asked if there was ANYTHING that was safe to take and he went on a tirade about people who take xanax and how they have higher mortality rates cause they don’t react to situations the same way “normal” people do and how they don’t have the patience to wait for other medications to work (suggesting I never tried anything else)…then assumed I had never seen a psychiatrist about my anxiety. He told me “You have to realize that the life of your unborn child is more important than your anxiety, and just deal with it, just deal with your panic attacks and get over it.” Then he suggested that I don’t have a panic disorder, that its just something that big pharmacy made up. He said “there are people living worse lives, out in the congo being killed for being Christians and they are birthing out babies just fine without medicine”. He said “If you can’t handle day to day life, what would you do at 3am with an infant who has a 104 fever?” All first time moms would worry in that situation! I told him that my sister in law has anxiety and depression and is pregnant. I told him that her OBGYN still has her on her meds and he interrupted me and again told me there was nothing safe. He told me if I couldnt handle day to day life I should reconsider becoming a mom. I think I was taking the right approach by asking him if there was anything to take that was safe, instead of just continuing to take things that could hurt me or my child…. that in itself should have proved I’m not a complete moron who needs to be talked down to. This was my FIRST TIME going to an OBGYN and it definitely wasn’t a good experience. ANYONE who UNDERSTANDS how someone feels dealing with infertility would NEVER say “maybe you shouldn’t be a mom”. I now see a doctor that not only is treating me for my infertility but who prescribed me an anxiety medicine that is safe for pregnancy and it actually works. Dr. Moncla is rude and insensitive, I shouldnt have left my first OBGYN appointment in tears. He also needs to brush up on his pregnancy safe medications since there actually IS a safe anxiety medication.

This was the best OBGYN experience ever.
