Wonderful customer service and they understood the importance of my pet to me and our family. Personnel are very professional and I felt we where in the right hands. They took great care of my pet and me I will recommend them to everyone. My pet had an emergency early in the morning and I called somewhere else thinking they would help only to find out I wasted time and the Veterinarian did not even come in. Our furbaby needed immediate attention as his heart murmur was getting worse and his lungs were full of fluid. We have just relocated to the area so no local vet yet. We found El Paso Animal Emergency and they are AMAZING! Took our Chihuahua right in, assessed his situation, explained he needed to stay in hospital, gave us an estimate immediately so we knew what to expect. Although hard to leave over night, we knew he was in the best place. We even got a few pic texts from the staff cuddling with him. That meant the world! Apparently he charmed everyone. They answered all questions, responded promptly and made sure we understood all directions. He was able to come home the next day. He is so much better!! Would recommend to anyone. With any type of pet! We saw dogs, cats and even a lizard. Thank you thank you!❤️

I was hiking in the Organ mountains when my dog cut both of her front paws on some sharp rocks. Tried to get her into a vet here and Cruces and it was impossible. This hospital came with great reviews. Staff is very friendly and caring. Super clean and professional animal hospital. They got us in right away. Vet assessed my dog and realized that the cuts were superficial and recommended us getting some booties. He was very gentle with my baby and calmed all of my fears. He didn’t charge me because there wasn’t much he could do. I was blown away. I would have paid the fees but he wrote it off. I highly recommend the animal hospital!!!

I cannot say enough nice things about this facility! A stray puppy ran in front of my car today and so I took him in, but I could tell he was very sick. At first I took him to the Far East animal clinic but they had an 8 hour wait! No fault of their own, it’s Memorial Day weekend and people need care for their animals. They recommended El Paso animal emergency center on airway Blvd and I couldn’t be happier. Their lobby is open, but for most cases they talk to you over the phone, or at least the dvm does. Which is no problem. I was there a few hours but I knew that the puppy was getting the best care. The receptionist was kind, patient, and worked efficiently. The techs I spoke to were thorough and compassionate. And the doctor was very helpful and explained everything easily to me. I paid more than I thought I would for him, but it’s worth saving an animals life. Even if I just met him. They also offer a military discount if you are in that category! As long as I live in El Paso, they will be my go to for my animal’s emergencies. Thank you for being amazing!

The waiting time is excruciatingly long. I arrived at 7:40 pm on Sunday. My dog was taken to the back, but didn’t receive any attention until 1:30 am. He was ready to go home until 2:40 am. He got a physical examination and received a shot for pain. I think the diagnoses was correct but definitely shouldn’t have taken seven hours!!! Also the front desk personal do not give you any information about what is going on with your dog, or as to why the long wait. If your dog needs immediate attention, it will have to wait and hope he/she doesn’t die.

We had to go to the vet emergency because something with my dog and she had a severe allergic reaction. When we got there they took her puppy right away so that she wasn’t in any pain and before the swelling got bad. There were a lot of other people waiting and we had to wait about an hour. But even while we waited they were already taking care of our dog so she wasn’t in pain for a long time. The staff was very kind even one vet tech who literally sat with the dogs and talk to them to make sure they were Comforted. She addressed our dog by name, And was very reassuring to us about our dog receiving care.I appreciate that so much. I highly recommend if you have an emergency to take your dog here.

My dog is currently undergoing treatment daily so I’ll update this review when I know more. I understand it’s an emergency animal hospital so wait time can be a little excessive. I’ve been there 4 times this week mostly dropping my dog off for her hyperbaric treatments. The staff (many) have all been great even though they seem to step over each other in that small reception area. Twice picking up my dog, I’m asked to pay when I have prepaid for all procedures. Asked how Grace handled the procedure, was told ‘great’ and handed paperwork that you have to figure out yourself. Even though your fee covers medical boarding, they recommend dropping off in the morning and picking up in the afternoon. Hardship on me and my dog who hates riding in the car. To be continued ……and I worry about the future of good animal care in El Paso. Loved the vet who examined Grace.

I was so relieved when they treated her and told me she was going to be okay! Cost for treatment was low, which was a relief, as other places sometimes take advantage of people. Not here though. El Paso animal emergency was highly recommended by Banfield pet hospital when my pet needed “urgent care”. The gentleman that took my cat in was professional and genuinely seemed to care about my pets needs. However, when I came to pick my pet up several hours later I paid for the services that were provided. Total amount came out to 316 and some change. Included in this charge was blood work that was supposed to be drawn and sent to a lab for testing to determine why my pets white blood cell count was so high. After asking a few questions before leaving it was realized that they had failed to take an adequate amount of blood for the testing. Had I not asked questions I would have left without this service I paid for being done. I didn’t think much about this at first and just accepted that it was an honest mistake. After I left and got back home I took out the painkiller and antibiotics that were prescribed to my pet. The antibiotic they sent me home with was in powder form which they never explained or told me about until I called to ask them if it was supposed to be powder. I was informed over the phone I had to mix the product myself with water or I could bring it back in so they can mix it for me. ( I live nearly 30 miles from the store....The lady I spoke to about this explained that they are very busy as if that made it understandable for the lack of communication.Update: Sam, another associate Took the time to correct the wrongs. When I brought my cat back in she did the bandaging perfectly. She allowed me to come in and see her clean my animals wound and bandage him correctly she gave my cat snacks as well as gave me supplies to make sure that my cat was taken care of.When I needed to come in Sam took the time to come in and look at my cat even when she was off for the day. Because of these things I have changed my review from 2 to a 4 star because this employee Sam took the time to correct the wrongs. Thanks to her help my cat is made a complete recovery is strong and doing very well I will utilize El Paso animal emergency center in the future And will recommend them to others

TLDR: my dog has epilepsy and is declining quickly over past 24 hours. PCM Said to bring him in if he had signs of neurological stress, i did, they wouldn’t take him in, he ended up suffering a Gran mal seizure after trying to have him admitted. So I have had 2/2 awful experiences here. The first one my dog was yelping erratically, head twitching, and licking intensely, all neurological signs something is wrong. They told me he was stable and would not check him. It was 4 am last December. The second experience was yesterday rolling into today. I took oliver to TLC my primary vet, where they kept him until 5:30 pm for seizure watch because he was showing neurological sign like before but that had increased in quantity since 9 pm on the 5th. The doctor said to take oliver if he started any of the licking, head pressing, head twitching, losing control of bowel movements, and loss of limb function. We even left the catheter in for them. So at 2:10 am I went because he had been licking, loss function of his back limbs, and become disoriented. When I got to the clinic, they said they couldn’t help and that it would be expensive. I said it was ok because there is something off about him and the my primary care vet said to bring him so that they could give him medazalam as soon as he actually had a gran mal seizure. The vet tech said unless he’s seizing she can’t take him. I live 20 minutes away from airway, me leaving and coming back the seizure would be over and my dog would have already suffered. So after I left airway, I went home where my dog slept for one hour and then SUPRISE he had a gran mal seizure. So I guess this isnt a review at all, because how can you be rated poorly if you won’t even administer care???

When I called and they would ask what my babies name was I knew that this was a place that truly understood how I feel about my girl. Melinda even told me she was the lead on duty and if I needed to call at any point in the night to feel free. They understood that she is my child and the staff and Dr. Flores made me feel ar ease and that she was in great hands. They kept me up to date on her progress and even sent me a picture because she had to stay the night. We wanted to make sure she was OK since she wasnt at home in her own bed. Dont worry, they have government contracts for the K9s *that they prioritize higher than your pet no matter how bad your emergency is*. Then they do nothing, so theyve scammed you out of money youve already given them. These are pathetic bottom-feeding amateurs who dont know what theyre doing and should be avoided at all costs.

Our oldest dog had a horrible seizure. It had never happened. It was in the evening. I had heard that it was an expensive hospital, but it was our only chance to treat and maybe save our dog. They got her in right away and tests/treatment started. They never once said that she might have to be put down. They cited her age (16) as a factor, but put all energy on getting her better. She stayed 2 nights and they did everything to set her up in advance of us getting to bring her home. People do get upset about pricing, but pet care is never cheap. Vets have to collect when services are rendered because hardly anyone has insurance to bill them later. This hospital has certain capabilities because it is built for emergencies. As people, we don’t go to the emergency room unless we have to. Our pets, same thing. We are so glad they were there when our dog needed these services.

If you won’t let pet owners in the exam room with their pets, you should at least show more care and compassion up front. Told us he needed X-rays to see how he was doing and it would be about 2 hours for the results and we would need to pay before we left. Paid the amount and went home and after about 2 hours get the call that he had broken his back and needed emergency surgery or he would risk getting paralyzed. They did not want to do the surgery so they told me to call a different animal hospital to see if they would do it. I called and they said no. I called 3 other animal hospitals and all said they would be closed until Monday. I call this place back and tell them no one will do it. Then they tell me “oh it’s not as bad as we actually thought we can jsur do it here”. So I spent the last 2 hours calling around to see who could give my cat surgery in order to live and they didn’t even think or bother to call and tell me it wasn’t as serious as they thought?? They tell me they are going to talk to their surgeon and call me back ASAP to give me the estimate for the surgery. Another 2 hours go by. No call. So I call. They have no info. Another 2-3 hours go by. No call again. So I called again. “Oh we will call you at 6 if not call us”. Six o’clock comes around no call so I called. I called 3 times and absolutely no answer. I was put on hold multiple times. I didn’t get in contact with them until after 8:30pm. At that point I was infuriated and told them I need answers now am I picking the cat up to go home or is he staying there. Another hour goes by and I finally get a call to come pick up the cat. I get to the hospital and they tell me he needs to fast for surgery Monday. Surgery was never discussed? I told them that we were under the impression it was not that bad and we could take him home while the doctor gets and estimate on how much it would cost. The girl was in shock she said she needed to go get someone who knew what they were talking about. Why send someone who does not even know what is going on? Not only that is they didn’t even know the sex of my cat they kept calling him her. What kind of vet place doesn’t even know what patient they are with? Here I am 2 days later STILL waiting for the doctors to contact me. I have called and each time no one answers or I get put on hold with the hopes that I eventually go away. Absolutely inexcusable behavior from professionals. I recommend not going here as they are money hungry and do not do what is best for you pet.

We took my sons puppy in (7 week old basset hound) he jumped out of my nieces hand and hit the concrete. He was still alert just a little dazed so we decided to take him in just in case. We got there and they took him back immediately. We waited and waited and waited my husband went up there to ask for any updates is he ok, is he still alive did he die something. Two plus hours later my husband gets a call and it was the Veterinarian calling to ask us what happened (we are sitting in the lobby) explain to her what happened and she said “we have been observing him snd he seems fine eating and drinking” she said she was going to call us in the room so we can see if he is acting normal. So we got called into a rom and the tech that helped us she was extremely sweet brought us the puppy and he was acting normal. Then we meet the head tech a guy who has worked with animals 15 years and he said he has seen a lot of brain injuries and the puppy seems to be doing fine. Thankfully the puppy is eating and drinking and acting normal. They are great with animals but having someone sit there wondering what is going on for now than two hours is a little inconsiderate and unprofessional that is the reason they got three stars. If I pay for an exam on my pet I expect the Veterinarian to at-least come talk to us for 2 minutes and answer any of our questions. The entire time we were there we never spoke to a veterinarian except on the phone.

They took my beautiful 5 year old cat for 2 hours without a word. I get a call from the veterinarian stating he had a urinary blockage. Next the front desk called informed me I needed $1,800 and there would be repeate blockages, no guarantee placing a catheter would work. I explained my financial situation they asked I request a line of credit or ask friends/family. How about they loan me the money? Or care enough to adjust their pricing to something a normal person can afford. After that my only option was to euthanasia for my sweet boy. I was told they dont send pets home with medication. I hope they can live with themselves by not offering any other alternatives. To date I wonder if I was misinformed about my pets condition so they could make some quick money. My advice is wait until a trusted vet sees your fur baby. All they care about is making money not about you, your pet or the crying children at home that didnt get to say goodbye to their companion.

We had a cherished baby puppy aspirate during weaning & this E-clinic was everything a reputable dog breeder would want to find: professional, capable & kind. The pup was swiftly diagnosed & placed in an oxygen tent & given appropriate supportive measures. He has a swift turn-around & was home w/us in less than 12 hours. He’s doing fine (2 days out). And? They called me to refund me $240 as the original estimate on the deposit was for a 24-48 stay. When was the last time a vet clinic made an extra call to tell you they owed you money? (Not the most important aspect to us but not overlooked either.)

I came in this past memorial weekend in need of help. I drove all the way from las cruces, though they were busy they were able to get my baby girl Kya seen faster than any vet would ever in las cruces. They helped with no hesitations. The staff was amazing, very supportive and compassionate. They made one of the worst days of my life very smooth and easy. I had to euthanize my baby due to multiple life threatening diagnosis but like I said they made the experience comfortable and very easy (as easy as this experience can be) I’ll never forget the way they treated my baby and I and for making her last moments comfortable and treating her as if she was their own. thank you for allowing me to be there to say my goodbyes. Quality service and beyond amazing staff, a special thanks to Alejandro, he was the supervisor at the time I was there and was absolutely the sweetest person to work with, thank you for going above and beyond. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs their babies to be well taken care of.

Hundreds of dollars for them to tell me my dog MIGHT need surgery. Went to another vet and found out my dog had multiple broken bones, ribs, and internal injuries. They would have let my dog suffer and pass on the notion they wanted more money to tell me the extent of my pet’s injuries. STAY AWAY. They will drain your wallet and emotions.

I took my 9 wk old baby Toby today and the staff were so genuine. They made sure he was calm and helped him with his eye. Their professionalism and love for all the pets that go through those doors is above and beyond what I think anyone has ever done. We are so blessed and appreciative that they help our angel. They do care about your fur babies. That you ❤🐶

The compassion that the staff has for animals is obvious as soon as you enter the door. I had picked up some stray kitttens at a gas station during a road trip. The doctor was in surgery and I wasnt able to wait for him but they cleaned the kitttens up and provided me with formula free of charge so that I could take care of them until I took them to a vet back home to CA. I will never forget the kindness and genuine love shown to these precious babies.

My husband and I rushed our small Chihuahua to the ER, she was diagnosed with Parvo. She was hospitalized on Saturday night and we kept calling and calling all day Sunday to see her status and didnt receive a call until 10pm. I spent all Monday calling and calling to check on my dog ... they returned my call to leave me on hold for over an hour so I ended up hanging up. Terrible service. Weve taken several of our animals in the past over the years and this has to be the WORST service ever. I definitely will not return here.

We brought our sweet Kitty in on a Saturday. The staff came and got her right away, got her back. There was a wait for Humans, as expected in the middle of a Saturday, but my Kitty was inside in good, caring, compassionate hands. The staff was upfront about prices, which were I feel pretty reasonable for An Emergency. The doc was very caring and forthcoming without being callous or cold. My experience was all I could ask for and more.

Ive been unfortunate to have an older dog who was having seizures. The staff here was able to get her on meds to stop them and monitored her overnight. We recently had a kitten they were able to save. We took him there in critical condition and they were compassionate and worked immediately to save him! We saw the bad things people say and can honestly say this hospital does care. They may not be staffed with 100 people to answer calls the way people want but this is not a call center. You have to understand your phone does not take precedence over a pets health or people they are helping that are there. And you may have to call back but they are never rude for your calls. It is expensive , approx $1500 each time for overnight stay and yes these animals needed that critical care overnight. Its a lot cheaper than a human emergency room visit. They are completely upfront about their pricing. We are looking to getting pet insurance now as it would have helped substantially.

The only thing bad i can say about this vet is they are expensive, and i wish they did payment plans. However let me tell you everything they have done for my baby. It is long story, but worth it.This started 730pm Saturday January 11,2020.My baby got his head shut in the door( by accident),he is only about 5 weeks old. He went limp, couldnt stand, was barely breathing. My husband and i thought he broke his neck. So we rushed him to this vet, and admitted him. After we admitted him, we read the reviews, and i got scared if we made the right decision.. but i feel like now we did, and glad i didnt listen to all the reviews. We got in the door, (i was crying, because i thought he wasnt going to make it) the lady at the desk( i dont remeber her name, but she was sweet as can be) asked what happened. I sat him on the counter, and before i could explain she asked if she could take him to the back and get him started on oxygen. I told her yes. So she rushed him to the back, and started him on oxygen right away. Before we even started the paperwork. She came back out, and we instantly started the paper work. She asked us what happen, so we told her. She put the paper work in, and said the dr. Will be right with you to explain the quote, and what all she will do(we waited maybe 30 mins before saw the dr.)I asked if they do payments, and she told me right away, maam im sorry we dont, we do accept credit care if your approved. I said ill give it a shot, but i dont think we will get accepted. We filled the paperwork out, and we were accepted for 1500. Well the dr. Came in and quoted us a low end and high end quote. ( high end equally just shy of 1500.) We accepted the treatment. They did the xrays, come find out it wasnt a broke neck, But he has equialivent to a slipt disc on a human. Again the dr. Explained to us something called hbac oxygen. She explained what it would do, and how it worked. Again we accepted it(at this point we just wanted our baby better) she has been up front and honest with us since day 1. Fast forward a little bit.My baby is still in their care, and will be till thursday or friday. Depending on him. ( when he can stand and walk on his own again). Every day he gets atleast 2 treatments of hbac oxygen, and i can say it is showing a progress every day. It started out not being able to move(almost a dead puppy) to now he is trying to stand on his own, and trying to walk. Its only been 3 days. He is holding his head up, on his own. Every day has been more an improvement. The female dr.(cant remember her name) and aaron have worked tremendous with us. They will tell us what they reccommend, and we will tell them if we can afford it or not. And we try to find a meet in the middle. We have got to go up there and see him 2 to 3 times aday, as long as he isnt in treatment. They have been professional everytime we call to get an update( i call 4 to 5 times a day to check on him, but if they are busy you will be on hold for a little bit)they dont get irrated with me calling and asking for updates, they dont get fustrated for us coming up there twice a day to see him.Today i took my 5 yr daughter up there for the first since the accident, so today she got to see him, and they brought him out to her.And let her play (hold him) for an hour, he took a step than fell and tried again. After 2 steps he quit. They talked to her and told her everything that they were doing( they put it in kid terms so she would understand). They have truly taking care of our baby, and gave him the treatment he needs.I hope your experience is the same as ours. But i definitely recommend them if your babies have a emergency.I mentioned in the beginning, yes they are expensive, and i do wish they had a payment plan you could do. However they do try their best,And give it their all when taking care of your babies, as if its their own. and the staff is 100% amazing, and respectful. Thank you for everything you have done for our baby. I posted picture of the day my daughter got to see him in the hositpal, and a current picture.1 yr later

This establishment is not the place to take your pets. If you love them! I took my Shar-pei to get treated after a dog attack that caused 5’ in lacerations on her neck. When I arrived on April 4, 2021 at 5 PM. She was checked in. I should have known at that moment this was the wrong place when the technician pulled her and hurt my pet, as she did not want to go inside. I was told she knew how to handle this as they are ‘trained professionals.’ Yet my dog has just been attacked by another dog, being pulled by open wounds and bleeding. Once she was checked in, it took five hours to speak to a ‘Vet.’ I spoke to Dr. Clements, who provided me with an entire rundown on what would be completed on my pet. I was assured two times that my pet would be taken care of, ready to be picked up the next day at 9PM, and that I would receive phone calls with updates on every interaction with my pet. At 1:45 AM I called the establishment to obtain an update on my pet. I was assured by the tech that my pet was next in line that they had been extremely busy due to the holidays. I said I understand I hope to hear from you once the procedure was complete. At 4AM I called as I had not received a single phone call, email, nothing! They had shut down their phone system. I only know this from working at a business were this can be done. I drove to the establishment at they claim to be open 24 hours a day. They were closed. I knocked and knocked and no answer. At 7 AM I called again, no answer their phone system was down. At 8 AM I drove to the establishment to obtain an update on my pet. Another customer was checking out their pet, this pet had arrived at least 3 hours after mine. Get this they were even amazed because the front clerk gave them a 900 credit, for their wait!Once I got there at 8:30AM I get to speak to the vet, Dr. Kopolus I believe. Who mentioned that they had been too busy overnight and that my pet still had to ensure the procedure, and that he had just arrived; therefore, had small information on the state of my pet. I was frustrated, sadden, and disappointed by his comments. These are ‘professionals’ we trust to aid and cure our pets. He said that if I wanted, he could now do the procedure as he was free. Even though my dog had been there overnight for at least 12 hours, and I had been changed a ‘deposit’ of $1900.00. At that moment, I decided to check out my pet and take her to a place that would care in providing treatment to a true emergency. I was provided with a refund of $927.00 even though they basically just drugged my pet the entire night. This establishment prides themselves with being ‘talented and caring’ that is not the case. They care only about the opportunity of making money by keeping pets overnight and charging excessive amounts of money by drugging pets. Additionally, they take advantage of being the only animal hospital ‘open’ during the holidays. They are shame to be called an animal hospital. They do not take their oath as health professionals seriously and could care less if a pet life. They only see the opportunity to take make money.Whatever you do. Do not take your pets here! I hope this review can help others understand that health care for pets in this country is broken as much as it is for humans. It is sad that these ‘professionals’ that claim to have the best interest of patients only take advantage of the love we have for our pets!

I just called because it’s Memorial Day, so my vet is CLOSED and my dog has Parvo. I was told to call this location if we had any questions or concerns. I called to ask how long after my dogs second Parvo treatment should she go back to normal because she’s not eating or drinking and all the ladies response was “i don’t know sorry call your dr” ITS MEMORIAL DAY, if i could call my vet i would. We’re already heart broken and sad and this lady helped in no way.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! Wish negative stars were an option. This was the worst clinic I have ever taken any pet too. Dr Kari Clement was unprofessional when asked about the unclear and undiagnosed problem. My paperwork, as well as Dr. Clement both said my dog’s cough was either one thing OR the other, but never gave me a definitive answer. Paperwork claims, “If real…” while stating what COULD be the problem. Upon not being able to answer my questions and concerns Dr. Clement became defensive and immediately transferred me to the financial lady, stating that I had a problem with the payment and not her lack of diagnosis. Stated also that if I was unhappy with her “diagnosis” I was free to get a second opinion, while the entire cost was $860. Overall worst emergency vet clinic.

The entire team of vets, techs and staff were unbelievably amazing, kind and compassionate. The outcome was not what any of us wanted or hoped for, but Dr. DeMarcos diligence in trying to treat and save Waffles was more than admirable. It was comforting to know that she made every possible effort. Dr. DeMarco, Dr. Flores and the other vets always took the time to to discuss his current condition, status, treatment plan, possible outcomes and prognosis. I am grateful for everything that was done - including the discounts applied to help alleviate some of the financial burden. Dr. DeMarcos compassion for both animals and pet owners is remarkable and is definitely not overlooked. Thank you Dr. DeMarco!
