Donna Morton was my therapist on this visit. She was on time. She seemed genuinely interested in the reason I was there. She asked questions regarding dx and what treatments I might have had. We went over all exercises. She deleted some and added time of holding positions on others. I understood all actions she took. My only complaint, and it really isnt one, is that they are so good that they are extremely busy and have to be booked a week or two ahead.

When I was first a client two years ago for a chronic back issue (degenerative disc disease) I had a great experience. I left feeling less pain, stronger, and had greater mobility. The therapists I saw were knowledgeable, patient, and easy to work with. When I left, Chris told me that if my back situation got dicey again to come on back and they’d work to get me back on track. So now I’m back and confident that they’re the best people to help me. The front desk folks are great, too. Always welcoming and friendly and ready to help.

The staff at innovations is very knowledgeable and caring. I was treated for a frozen shoulder a year and a half ago and am now being treated for vertigo. I have had both in person and virtual sessions. Their service is always excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I tried fixing my hip pain by watching videos and using online resources. It didn’t work. Allen found the problem within five minutes and after one treatment my range of motion improved 70%-80%. Will be visiting PTI again soon.

There have been few businesses I’ve been to that I could hold in higher regard, certainly no medical offices. I wanted to add a tip to my bill. I can’t sing the praises of just one of the PT’s because I was treated by many and all were superb. Even the PTA who treated me was extremely knowledgeable and helpful toward getting me back on my feet following ACL reconstruction surgery. Also huge shoutout to the staff involved with handling the billing, scheduling, and phones- what a painless pleasant experience every time!!The therapists were extremely personable, listened to me and adjusted my program accordingly. They had PT students working in-house and even they were top notch. The actual facility is average as is the equipment. The real asset is the amazing staff. I’ve been to multiple PT’s and OT’s over the years and PT Innovations stands out above the rest.I hope the owners are extremely proud of what must be one of the finest PT offices in the greater Bay Area. I love that place. Going there has helped me out. The staff I have had are very kind and knowledgeable.

Professional physical therapists only appeared in the first session. After that, without any detailed plans, only the assistant did electric massage. Also when you get a massage, You should take off your clothes, but there was no place to respect your “PRIVACY”. Other therapists and customers came and went and I was so embarrassed. There was no professional plan and the treatment had only a temporary effect. There was only one explanation on the first day of rehabilitation. Since then, it has only been an electric massage. Im still suffering from back pain. My time and money were wasted.

Have just started. With PT Innovations. So far, impressed by the knowledge, competence, scrupulous Covid-19 safety practices, and dedication to relieve (not cause) pain for patients. Was lucky enough to get Dr. Allen Ling, the founder, as my intake evaluator. Aquatic PT, which puts less stress on the body, should reopen in July. Until then, I’ll be going twice a week to see what can be accomplished on land.

I saw Christine for a lingering problem after surgery on my heel. And after only one visit she helped me and gave me an exercise that is really effective. She is just a jewel!!!!

I have an ongoing schedule 3 times a week physical rehab session with Jeremiah and Rosie.I suffer from debilitating cramps... my right leg on down to my calf muscle. In addition I suffer chronic pain on my right shoulder blade, up to my neck on down to my right side rotator cuff downwards to my biceps/triceps on down to my forearms and on to my hand!!😩From my neck to my foot?.. needless to to say this can be frustrating and debilitating to say the least.My appointments are broken down to half hour sessions, this works like a Swiss watch! Thanks to the incredible staff I find the staff to be accommodating and personable... where professional courtesy is a given.My sessions begin by a check in withJeremiah. His chair side manner is comfortable and refreshingly cathartic. He’s like your quintessential bartender or hairstylist 😁😅We start working on the systemic cramping. Since these cramps seem to come and go I usually arrive limping or awaiting an oncoming cramp.Jeremiah and his acute awareness to troubleshoot the problem has allowed me to regain my mobility.The second half I work with Rosie who I refer to as my rockstar!!!🤩This little lady has such an incredible new approach on how to massage and destroy the ever present knots that continue to arise daily!Rosie and her tenacity to leave no prisoners, works the muscles with her secret style!🤫My overall attitude undergoes a complete attitude change! In September of 2019, I received an anesthesia overdose during a surgical procedure that resulted in an acquired brain injury. Navigating the health insurance and receiving the medical care I need has been beyond challenging. My life changed, and there are many unknowns and daily challenges. Nonetheless, I continue to focus on the progress Ive made. The PT Innovations team has been respectful, knowledgeable, and I have been treated with dignity throughout this process. The level of professionalism and care by the admin team (Irving, Nancy, Michaela, and Miriam) and my therapist, Tuan, is the reason I continue to receive care at PT Innovations. Before COVID-19, the office and equipment were immediately cleaned and sanitized by Sam. I continue to be thankful to him and the team for all the new sanitary measures theyve implemented due to COVID. Very grateful to PT Innovations.

Over the years I have gotten help with several injuries at PT Innovations, but when the shelter-in-place order came down in March 2020 I was not sure whether it would be safe to continue going in for therapy. However, I decided to give it a try, and Im so glad I did. The staff quickly put in many precautions such as mandatory mask requirements, temperature checks, distancing of therapy stations, and disinfecting protocols. I can see that everyone is aware of the risks of our new normal and they are staying focused on keeping everyone safe. The physical therapy Ive received has been outstanding. And recently, I got speedy assistance in switching over to new insurance and getting it in place to cover my visits. Thank you, PTI staff!

The office has great COVID-19 safeguards in place. As usual, Christine carefully listened to the what-where-when of my symptoms, then came up with a diagnosis and tips for remediation. Jeromiah then massaged the troubling areas and gave me several very specific stretching exercises printed on paper. Excellent work by both of them. I am now hopeful that a condition that was becoming perhaps permanently chronic (sciatica) will go away completely. Yes! That would be a wonderful relief.

Will has always been very professional and has work with me with different techniques and exercises so I can get better from my injuries. Also, staff is friendly and follows COVID regulations.

Physical Therapy Innovations is the reason I can get out of bed. The reason I can walk. The reason I can stand up straight. Not only that, but they have such wonderful therapists (previously known as physical terrorists) that they make me *want* to go to physical therapy! They will push you, and you have to make sure to do the exercises in your own time, but you will see results. And on the weeks you just did not manage to get in all your workouts, no guilt trips, no punishments, nothing but more encouragement and sympathy with just enough tough love to keep you going. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I highly recommend them & him in particular.My original review:I have a continuing shoulder & upper back problem. I read Yelp reviews before coming. I noticed several said they got whichever therapist was free when they were serviced. I made sure I made appointments with a good one.Of course, on your first visit you do not know who is good & who is not good. It is the luck of the draw.I was exceedingly lucky as I started with Danielle. She has confidence & it shows. I think the confidence is deserved.My problem isnt resolved but her help has been valuable.I saw her for 30 minutes & then I saw a helper. I am sure all of the helpers are good but for MY PROBLEM or for ME, all may not be equal. That is NOT a negative comment about their qualifications.For me, I found that after 30 minutes with Danielle, 30 minutes with Emily was helpful. It took a while for Emily to grasp my needs & she also worked with Danielles leadership. For me, the combination of the two of them was good.I have reached the limit that Medicare will pay. I expect to one day have surgery. When I do, I will want to return to them for my rehab.A therapist can only do so much. While they helped me, they werent able to solve my problem. That is NOT a negative comment to them or their work.

So far I am terribly impressed with the treatment and the billing service at Physical Therapy Innovations. I have read all the reviews on other sites that the billing department can be something of a trial to deal with. To this date, I have yet to experience that inconvenience. And hope not to. But as far as the treatment goes Im getting excellent advice. The physical therapist I am seeing has educated me to the specifics of my injury. Where I thought my hip was going out and could possibly need replacement in the future, its simply a muscle that is being over-extended and needs to relax. With that information at my disposal and an arsenal of exercises to increase the maneuverability of that hip, Im doing so much better. The parking for physical therapy Innovations in El Cerrito, is very tricky. You may want to arrive at your appointment a few more minutes extra just in case you need to look for parking.

The attention I received at PTI was wonderful. Donna was my main therapist and she is more than competent. She listened to me and prescribed really good core-strengthening exercises for me to do everyday. She also prescribed pool therapy which turned out to bejust the thing I needed and which I will continue on my own. I am getting better (from sciatica pain) and feel like I will keep getting better. I have suffered from sciatica pain for several years, but thanks to my experience at PTI and specifically Donna (as well as other therapists), I now feel like I will recover completely.

I have had two hip replacements this year. After each one I have taken advantage of the PTI therapy pool offerings at the Albany HS therapy pool. It has made all the difference in my recovery. I have also seen several therapists at the Kearney St. location and found them insightful and extremely helpful.

I love all the physical therapists at PT Innovations. Dr. Lee Yek is wonderful! He is professional and knowledgeable with a great personality. James is great too. Christine and Barbara have helped with my recovery with pool therapy. They are both so kind, thoughtful and patient. Michela and the rest of the staff are all professional and sweet.

Easy to get to. Very clean. On time for appointment. However I feel its important to have the same therapeutic each time so you are keeping on track. I have had two different people and they had two different plans for me. We spend time the second time talking about problems which I felt wasted my therapy time.

Ryan helps me a lot in manging my pain. Jeremiah has lots of ideas in doing may stretching and exercise. I so love the GK3 that Jeremiah is using on my back. Thank you.

The people are nice - good attitudes and smiles go a long way when you are in pain. Most of them are young whipper snappers (lol) but are patient and will listen - BIG plus - the listening part. They are non-judgmental. They do a good job. I am surprised at how much it helps. The swimming pool therapy is to DIE for. (please dont)L: O V E it!!. Great staff all the way around. The owner, Allen Ling, has found a great hole to fill and has done a fantastic job.

Recuperating from two knee replacement surgeries, the VA directed me to Physical Therapy Innovations and with the prescribed exercises, access to exercise devices, and personal attention they provided I recovered quickly and was so pleased that I lately applied to return to them to deal with an arthritic shoulder. Wonderful folks, highly recommended.

The masseurs are amazing and very thought full. I enjoyed working with them. My only problem was that every time i went in i had a different masseur. I had to tell them every appointment why I was there and what was done previously to my injury. That wasted time in my short appointment. By having a different masseur, it meant I had different techniques each time I went, it was annoying. I had my out take appointment and the scheduler made a mistake on the day of the week the date fell on and I missed my appointment. Before they even called me about it, and did not let me make up the appointment, they submitted the missed appointment to my Workmans Compensation, which hurt my claim. I spoke with the manager, at least thats who i was told she was, and discussed my frustration with the situation and she said that she would try to look into it and intercept the paperwork and explain the situation and get back to me. Three month later, still no call back and I call and then, I was told that she was not even the manager.My outlook is, I would have paid out of my own pocket to make the situation right to get that exit appointment, I told her this. My claim was damaged because of this. They could have EASILY had more money in the back if they took care of the situation properly and compassionately - because I would have received more massages from Workmans compensation and I would have still been their client. I feel like they just run through people and get their money and dot care to make thing right and dont care if they actually help injuries. They are in it for the money - not the hospitality of the health care business. I choose them because I grew up in Albany and I am a strong supporter of helping local businesses, guess that was a mistake.Just my experience.

Very professional help with post hip replacement. Both making measurable progress and enjoying support and reassurance.

Ive been coming here off and on for 12 years for post cerebral palsy issues. It is through the innovative and creative techniques of my PT, Chris who helped eradicate those issues. I have regained muscular strength, increased muscle mass and tone, and stability through Chris mentoring. I recently returned due to a shoulder injury from a freak accident. My doctor endorsed the staff as I requested to return to their care. Shoulder injuries are difficult to rehab, but Im progressing well and my progress is steady. I diligently perform my exercises at home as directed and its working. The staff is warm, professional, and caring.

The center is professional, friendly, helpful in explaining their findings of my condition and their plan to help me improve my health. I would highly recommend this therapy center.

I was referred to PTI for treatment of an intense flare up of plantar fasciitis that Ive had on and off for many years. When I first showed up at the Oakland office of PTI to work with Nils, I had intense pain even just walking. Nils worked with me to identify the source of the flare up and developed a program to get me back to pain free exercise within three months. I highly recommend Nils and PTI.
