It took some effort to figure out what size flight suit fit a 14 year old boy, but after that effort I ordered a 36 Short and it fit perfectly. What was remarkable was that G&B had in stock a 36S size and also was able to assist in the sizing. The product itself is great, and the right size made it even greater.

On a Monday, I found out I needed a helmet ASAP. On Tuesday (across the country), I had a helmet in hand. Nice helmet. Thanks to Jarek for making it happen. Great customer service.

I ordered an SPH-5 helmet; was helped from the beginning by Donny, who proved to be knowledgeable and always answered my emails in a timely manner. I was given a timeline and a quote, both were respected. My order was pretty specific and there were a few items that I wanted personalized, including the paint job of the shell. Because of that I was a little worried about the final product, as it often happens when several layers of customization are requested.I couldnt have been more wrong: when the helmet was delivered I was blown away not only by the quality of the assembly but also by how great the paint job looked. It was exactly what I was expecting, no surprises, all my requests had been granted. Ive had colleagues commenting on the great looks of the helmet as soon as I showed up at work.I will be shopping at Gibson and Barnes again and would recommend them to other pilots who are looking for a high quality, personalized helmet.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. The customer service is pathetic. The agency I work for ordered 30+ Gentex helmets over 2 years ago. A substantial order for us. We were measured and the grant money submitted. The helmets finally arrived yesterday. While over half the people measured sizes large and above, Gibson and Barnes showed up with nothing but small and mediums with no timeline as to when larger sizes will be in. To add insult to injury, the salesperson who had the nerve to show up had people trying to cram their large heads into the S or M size brain buckets. This place is a joke. If youre looking for one off the shelf product they may be fine, but if youre an agency or youre going to pay with monies thru a grant, go elsewhere. Their service is a straight rip off. Safety of aircrews is way down the list as their number one priority is to make a buck. Take the money, shut up and wait is should be the company motto....

Edit: got my refund, seemed I just needed to request a different person to help me. While the sizing was extremely generous the materials, manufacturing quality, and design with respect to philosphy-of-use was excellent. I will likely not be taking another chance but a company I work with has been using them for over 20 years and has never had any issues at all with helmets or custom flight suits. So maybe commercial sales get a different/more experienced team.Original review: Been waiting for more than 2 months for a refund. Had to pay shipping both ways for the original item. I have been nothing but patient, polite, and professional up until this point. I have started sending emails every other day a few weeks ago, at first they said they lost the refund information, now theyve stopped responding. If the sizing had been remotely accurate in the first place I wouldnt have even needed a refund.

Terrible customer service. Their lightweight nomex is very poor quality. Pilling (balling) on the collar and chest with minimal use. Sent it back 2 months ago. Still have not received my replacement or repair.

I recently upgraded from a 1st generation Alpha Eagle helicopter helmet to the new Eagle available from Gentex through Gibson and Barnes. I met with both Nate and Donny in sales and through their exemplary service and guidance ended up with a helmet that meets all my needs. I chose an Alpha Eagle with ANR and a maxillofacial shield for work with doors off, in the airflow. The Gibson and Barnes team have been outstanding meeting all my needs including specific cables, ANR comparison, flight bags, and refurbishing an older helmet as a back up helmet. Ken Arlidge

They received my helmet over a month ago and did nothing to it. When asked today, they said they just now sent up a list to my HQ requesting approval. Helmet quality was horrible when I first received it and this is the quality of them making assurances to repair it to a usable condition. Avoid if at all possible. Terrible customer service.

My order to repair my helmet started in October of 2018. Five months later it is still far from complete. Sometimes they respond, sometimes they do not. When you do get a response you get a ridiculous new estimate for another month, along with blame on Gentex for not shipping particular parts. I was being told that the mask was to arrive a month ago and the helmet would be finished and ship on March 1, 2019. It never happened. I contacted them. No response. I was also told months ago that it would not be until Memorial Day at the end of May 2019 before Gentex could ship a clear visor. What? Expect a year to build or rebuild a helmet? They claim to outfit the Thunderbirds. At this pace you would have to cancel an entire season of air shows. Go somewhere else for better quality and customer service.

To explain the 1 star is to say that their communication is terrible, the shipping slow, no follow through when inquiring about making a potentially large order, and poor customer service. The stuff they sell is fine, wish another option was available to purchase it from.

I represent a group of flyers in SoCal and ordered a number of nametags to be embroidered by G and B for our flightsuits. I ordered online in early January of this year, and two weeks later called to inquire only to get a VM and later callback to be told the ETA of the tags is estimated to be 21 February. 15 Nametags do not take that long. I called again 28 Jan and was told now the ETA is 21 March. Unsatisfactory- This excessive delivery production schedule should be disclosed on the web or to the purchaser in some fashion, as there are other suppliers out there that ship within two days. I chose another supplier.

Poor communication. Dont buy from them if you have another choice.
