My aunt recently passed away at this hospital. It was her dying wish to see all of her children and grandchildren in one room before she passed. The administration at this hospital would not allow her wish to be granted because of Covid - 19 protocols. Please tell me what difference it would make for this patient? She was dying and her family was all together anyway. It’s unforgivable and will never be forgotten. My dear aunt left this world without seeing all of her family together. Our family will never understand the decision made by this administration and we will never forget the lasting impression they made.

Giving his hospital a 2 since his nurses were very nice and sweet to my dad but the care was awful! Denied referrals for severe pain in hip or X-ray, MRI or ortho referral. Denied referral for podiatry even though dad hadn’t been seen in several months since confined to bed. Sent home after surgery with exact pain as admitted and PT and home care found him to be able to live independently since he walked once w walker for 75 ft while on narcotics. Been over a week and just now getting home care to eval and PT. Who sends someone home that cannot sit up, use bathroom, shower, dress self or walk much less heat up a meal?!?!

I recently moved her from WI I came into the ER with what I knew was a GI bleed on Sunday , I was seen quickly and taken care of ! The nurses in the ER were awesome ! I was admitted the same day, I had to stay for two nights and had an endoscopy procedure done. my experience there was by far the best experience I’ve had having the Heath issues I have, I’ve been to 2 different ones. Being there I moved here from another state not there long ago, I am in insured and have many establish a primary care Dr or GI Dr for my issues. They were all so friendly and very helpful. They helped me get established with Drs and the proper phones numbers to find a primary care dr, they even paid for and gave me the medications I needed to take home with me . By far the best experience and best nurses and Drs I’ve seen .

Monica at the Maternal Fetal Center for ultrasounds is hands down the nicest lady I’ve met ! She was bubbly and sweet and took her time during my appointment. She went over everything she was doing and made me feel very involved. This is my fourth baby and have never had anyone show this much personal attention during an ultrasound. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of the other techs, but Monica went above and beyond for me.

Where do I even start? Back in February I ended up staying here about a week to give birth to my beautiful son Kayden. Everyday I was greeted, everyday I was checked on, I was very blessed to have gone to this hospital. Everyone met has been nothing but super kind and caring. Even when my son was born blue in the face, the team got him back quickly, and the NICU got him back on the right track. Four months down the road Ive been here since Friday due to gallbladder issues, I had the same wonderful experience as before. All my nurses are so kind, easy to talk to and Felicia in surgery did a very good job of explaining things and keeping me calm during the procedure. I am deathly afraid of needles, and surgery situations, but Edgewood has completely changed my mindset I dont even flinch for blood draws anymore. I refuse to go to any other hospital except for this one. Not to mention the food is the BOMB!

Sick and completely tired of reading about you threatening and now firing long time experienced health care workers over a shot that dont work, has no long term testing, and more importantly many adverse effects that could leave them dead or forever sick. Its obvious discrimination and all about money! Now testing only the unvaxed when the vxd can get and spread it too!!! Wont ever step foot in this hospital. Look at the low reviews they already have. Now theyll be understaffed more so. Makes no sense for a virus with very high survival rate. I hope it hurts and I hope the experienced ones you fire find a better place to work where they will be valued, respected, and treated as a team unlike this despicable place! Herzog Jewelry and Schneller Knochelmann Plumbing & HVAC whom the board members own will also never get a penny from me or my whole family! Oh are you reporting the adverse effects? Betting not!

The ER staff on Friday morning the 7th of May were exceptional. The professionalism and attention to detail were world class as well as making my mother and I feel at ease by keeping us informed every step of the way as to her condition, test results and next steps. The ER nurses are some of the best I have encountered and I have traveled the world. After all of 2020 and the stress of COVID 19 you would understand if they were off their game a little, but not this team they should be commended. Thank you all for the care and respect you showed my mother and I it will always be appreciated and remembered

I knew I should have left while still in the emergency room. 🙃The male nurse got mad because he had to remove my IV It was hurting badly and there was a large red area withWelts andBruised raised up when he removed the tape .He put in the report I refusedanother IV.I did not refuse an IV, I told him hed have to put another one in if I needed oneThey mentioned it, when I got my stress test and I told them what had happened. I thought they would put another one in when I got to my room. I know I was supposed to have one and so did they.I was in ER 8 hours before getting a room.Im still waiting for the patient advocate to call me back.Everyone I spoke to wrote a report up and put it in my file at my chart including the Chaplin! Which is supposed to be confidential. All spinning like I was a problem exaggerating facts.I think they are violations of hippa. Their personal opinion of anything said shouldnt be in the records, inaccurate or otherwise. The only nurse I didnt have any trouble with, didnt write anything in a report except verified my covid vaccine. They checked my body and looked in between my toes like I was a drug addicted.Ive never had my body checked like this in any hospital setting. They didnt mention thet in the notesThey arent professional.Im disgusted and traumatized. Im disappointed. They didnt resolve my issue and didnt involve my in my care choices. Theres even more than this but its private.I will update this review when the hospital remedies my records and complaints.

This is a joke and a waste of insurance money. Told to be here at 11 my sister was given versed and that has already worn off and still waiting to be taken back to surgery. Only 1 person is allowed to go with the patient many people are just waiting in cars. For a surgery that they said would take an hour and I have waited so far 3.5 hours you think they would open the cafeteria so people could eat. Before we got here we had to take a covid test at a different st Elizabeth facility, they had no record of that happening even though we had received the results. BEWARE:Do not go here or accept medical advice from this staff (or any St. Elizabeth affiliate) - especially surgical recommendations and advice - if you value your health and livelihood. Incompetence is an understatement. There is a genuine disregard for quality and accuracy across the board, and the mentality runs deep within the St. Elizabeth network. You’re dealing with an organization that grew so fast that hiring decisions were made carelessly...with more emphasis placed on acquiring quantity rather than quality. The staff here was not thoughtfully chosen; both staff and patients are part of a numbers game...and it shows...through the consistent medical diagnostic errors, which have resulted in countless unnecessary (and in turn botched) surgeries/procedures.Im not exaggerating when I say you’d think some of these surgeons didn’t even attend medical school. Don’t believe me? Chances are if you’re reading this, someone you know or love has been affected by the incompetence that is the St. Elizabeth Health Network. Ask them.

As I sat waiting my turn I watched him treat everyone else who came after me the same way. He complained to one of the text doesn’t anybody else do blood work. I observed him pulling down his mask while he was looking at this phone then he called I assumed it was his boss and talked on the phone with his mask off. Someone came in that their doctor sent them in for a COVID test because someone from their work was positive for COVID. He called to make sure he was suppose to take them.We can not come into the hospital without getting our temp checked and wear a mask you would think the workers would abide by their own rules. It would be nice to be treated like a person with kindness and not like a bother just because you are checking in.Once I got to the lab tech she was great. I think the staff should communicate a bit better and housekeeping needs to improve. Most come in and just take garbage. My grandma was in here & it was horrible. She was complaining of side pain & the ER doc acted like she was making it up&it was all in her head. She was later diagnosed with Pancreatitis. While they were doing X-Rays she was dropped & the staff never told us. We found out b/c my grandmas head was bleeding by her Frontal Lobe. My mom (POA) asked what happened. We were told she was dropped while being transferred from the bed to the X-Ray table. My mom lost it & wanted to know why she wasnt told, why she wasnt cleaned up & why they didnt test her to ensure it didnt cause a head injury. The next day we visited my grandma was in tears. She told us the male nurse watching her that night told her we were taking her to a nursing home & didnt want her anymore. My dad confronted the guy, and through our questions he remained silent. We left for a few hours & when we came back my grandma was out of it. My mom went to the nurses station to ask what she had been given. The nurse on duty had given her Morphine (which she was allergic to) & is in her file not to give her. I brought her a blanket in & wrote our last name on it in large font with a sharpie and the next day it was gone. I asked what happened to the blanket & was told the linens were taken that morning for laundry. I never got the blanket back.My sister had her son here in 2018, and that experience was good. Which is why I give it 3 stars. The nurses were nice, caring & knowledgeable. They were reassuring, and kept a close eye on my sister. However, they sent me home on insulin for my diabetes as oral medications werent keeping my levels controlled. I have never used insulin before and was give very little education on how to do so.I was told to check my levels before meals and dose with a fast acting insulin according to a sliding scale based on my levels. The sliding scale wasnt in any of my documentation they sent home with me. I had to call and get it over the phone. I was never told how to deal with highs and lows between meals. I was never shown the proper way to use the prefilled injector for my slow acting. I managed to figure that out on my own but Im still stumbling through between meal lows and highs.Maybe I should have asked more questions, but I was sick and overwhelmed and exhausted and never should have been sent home with medication that could potentially be deadly if used improperly without the proper education. Based on my care during the stay, I would love to be able to offer a higher rating. Unfortunately I cannot due to the danger of the situation I was sent home in.

Cant even get an ultrasound done because I have my son with me. What a joke. What do they expect people who dont have dare care or people that work to do.

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I got to the hospital at 7 after being sent by my doctor for back pain and other issues. Dr thought it was kidney stones, at 1030 when those test came back negative she was going to send me home so I questioned what to do since the pain was still a 7 at best. 1130 rolled around and she wanted to do more test. Fine whatever. I had been moved rooms where no one checked on me l until 130 when the nurse came in and had no clue what was going on. I asked to be discharged because clearly they had no idea what was going on with me. Absolute joke and a complete waist of time with no answers 7 hours later.

When a convict is prioritized over another patient that has been waiting in the ER waiting room for 2 hours this is horrible service.

I had been going here for many years, service had always been decent. Recently I went in for pain in two places, the nurse physically checked both places and ordered a hospital visit for these areas to be checked out. I went and never heard anything back, I called for a week begging for an answer and the last thing in my chart was We will have a doctor call you back. That never happened. Now the hospital wants me to pay a bill for something I never got an answer on. When I dispute this I was offered a 10% discount, then a 25% discount because they could see how screwed up my charts is and that no one gave me an answer yet. Then later I was offered a 50% discount. Im tired of being offered discounts, I WANT A FREAKING ANSWER!!! PLEASE!!!A similar thing happened with St. Elizabeth last year and I had to dispute a $1,250 bill stating I never received help from a doctor (sound familiar?). It took them 7 months to review my chart and the bill before they conceded that I received no help and did not need to pay the bill. GET IT TOGETHER ST. E. Please, people need help and good communication is key. Reach out to your patients with answers, thats why we pay you. For help in the form of verbal response over the phone or in person.

I think this place is under appreciated. Ive only lived in the Northern Kentucky area for a few years but I can tell you the care you receive here (compared to Bathesda and some others) is significantly different. Ive had to go through them for multiple occasions from when I was pregnant, loss of my pregnancy and basic care. Each time was warm welcoming and attentive. Even emergency room visits are impressive with how quick you get in and out. My most recent visit is the reason for the review. I went in earlier this morning having complications from breathing to find out I had the flu. They got me in within maybe 15 minutes and were super attentive. The nurse helped get me comfortable during the wait and I was out within maybe an hour and a half. It seems like a long time but its what I expected with the flu season being so bad right now in the area and the test took 30 minutes. These people are great and I recommend this place.

A nurse has not been in this room for nearly 3 hours. No update has been provided even though the request was made hours ago. Excessive loudness. Choosing this hospital was a new experience. I question the choice. Would like to contact patient advocate but no number available.

Unexpected heart issues resulting in open heart surgery - outstanding experience from beginning to end. Dr. Toltzis helped identify the issue and execute testing to determine necessity. Dr. K Miller performed an angiogram to further investigate the depth of the issue and see if stints would be advisable solution. Dr. V. Schmelzer performed open heart triple bypass surgery - all of this in the span of 2 weeks.EVERY nurse, nurse practitioner, doctor, employee and volunteer we encountered along the terrifying way was attentive, compassionate, knowledgeable and nurturing. We were in exceptionally capable hands that not only addressed the cardiac illness, but also the emotional and associated needs of the patient and the family. We could not be more pleased with the pre-procedure/hospital stay/post-procedure care and treatment. Would recommend anyone with cardiac needs to the St Elizabeth facility and care team!

This hospital is phenomenal! I have been treated with so much respect during a very difficult time in my life. I cannot say enough great things about this hospital, especially the labor/delivery and the NICU. Thank you, St. Elizabeth!

We moved to NKY 3 years ago and I had planned on using St E for our familys healthcare - now I would never consider St E and will always cross the river.  In August 2019 I had a common surgery, I have no significant health issues, take no prescriptions. Yet my care was so poor, I consider myself to lucky to be alive.  My blood pressure was critically low for an entire day and I only received nursing care, no MD checked on me. Also,  I had one important note in my file: Allergic to adhesives, I also wore an allergy alert bracelet, but the anesthesiologist used adhesives on my back resulting in my entire back being covered in a horrible, itchy rash which only resolved weeks later with oral steroids.  So many avoidable mistakes were made, communication,  MD supervision etc...  was none-existent.   I wish I could trust St E but all I can say is STAY AWAY!  do not go there!  It is worth the drive to Cincinnati.

When I was admitted for terrible head pain and left side paralysis. After CT Scan showed it was not a stroke. They put me in a room with no pain medicine or anything for my head pain. I Had an IV port in my arm with no IV hooked to it. When the nurse came in to see me, I asked her for some ibuprofen or something. She said the Dr. Didnt leave any orders for it and they wouldnt be able to get orders until the next day. That if I had some in my purse to take it. So, I took Advil from my purse. The following morning I asked them if I still needed IV port because it was hurting really bad. So, the nurse went in the bathroom, didnt wash her hands, grabbed a piece of toilet paper, came over to me and held the toilet paper on my arm and pulled the IV port out. Im pretty sure that this is not how it is supposed to be done. This was on a Friday evening into Saturday. The Neurological Dr. Came to see me Saturday afternoon and wanted to get me an MRI, but the hospital couldnt do it until Monday. To me that is just rediculous that a patient in a hospital paying thousands of dollars to be there would have to sit and wait to get an MRI until Monday. This is a hospital for Christ sakes. He said I could go home and come back for MRI on Monday. That is what I did. They ran no other tests while I was there. They didnt try to figure out what was causing the pain or paralysis. Later, another Dr. at another facility did find out that I had swelling of the brain due to an infection and was treated with antibiotics.

Went to the Emergency room this morning because I fell in the parking lot and hit my head. They got me back and into a room quickly. Got a cat scan and x-ray. Saw the Nurse first and then the doctor. Had to go to the john. They showed me were it was and left me there. Gotback to my room wait a long time. Patched me up and I released me and Mike got me to the car. I was made to feel not wanted anymore.

There are some really excellent people working here, but there is a serious lack of communication among staff members and the patients are the worse for it. If I have a choice, next time I will not return to this ER. On a side note, I spent the night in the ER and between 3:00 am and 6:00 am the staff was chit-chatting loudly about the cases they had seen that night.

Went to St Es emergency room Sat, Aug 25. Severe head pain, blurry vision, unable to breathe or walk properly, tightness in chest, constant abdominal/back pain. Numerous justified reasons but I should have first gone to my mechanics shop for treatment. Give my invisible ER doctor credit (thus the one star review) ; an EKG implied that I was not suffering from major coronary. Sts treatment plan for me... I was told to go home and I was to schedule some other type of test!

I went in for difficult breathing, vomiting and headaches. I was given oxygen and admitted. They did a ct scan of my brain for the headaches and found nothing just gave me medication. They gave me medication for the vomiting but did nothing about my breathing. They told me I wasnt breathing right and to relax when. I got home. When I was released I went to another hospital for a second opinion. I found out I have blood clots that I am now being treated for. This hospital could have killed me. I see they have a new pretty fountain they built. Instead of decorating the hospital treat patients probably before you kill them with your ignorance.

I was very disappointed with the care at this hospital. The nurses in the ICU are all extremely rude, and lack any type of compassion that youd expect from an INTENSIVE CARE unit. Hours would go by and not one staff member checked in. We would have to go searching for someone every time something was wrong. Breathing problems, beeping ventilator, no one came in to see what was going on until we grabbed the first person we could find in the hall. Nurse Bethanne was probably the worst. She couldnt be bothered, was very rude when we asked any questions. But the staff in general was very unfriendly and unprofessional to say the least. Would sometimes wait over 10 minutes to be buzzed in, and when they finally did answer they were very nasty about it. Im convinced the outcome would have been very different if we wouldve gone somewhere else. I wouldnt recommend taking anyone you care about to this hospital.
