She works for Visiting Physicians now. Truly one of the worst doctors I’ve ever met. If you want a doctor to actually care about your loved one, pass on this one. She shouldn’t even have a medical license anymore. She doesn’t care about her patients. She’s the crankiest, with THE worst bedside manner I’ve ever come across. I know it sounds like one persons bad experience..nope. Many people talk about her. She’s a well-known dragon lady across the field. Patients, social workers, nurses. They all have bad things to say about her.

Dr Bessen cared for my Mother over a long period of time.Dr Bessen was wonderful. We couldn’t have hoped for a better doctor.Dr Bessen always showed my Mother respect and understanding.Dr Besser handled her and her myriad issues with keen attention and compassion.I read a previous review about Dr Bessen that criticized her for not being promptly on time.I think, perhaps, that the patient and family didn’t understand how stressful and packed the ASR’s schedule is.She travels all over NJ trying to accommodate every patient’s schedule. It’s complicated. AND, when she meets with a patient, she never rushes through her visit. She’s attentive and patient and kind and fun.You’d never know that, upon leaving her last patient, she yet has a 45 minute drive home to her own family.Dr Bessen is a treasure.

My mother found out about this doctor through her advertising campaign for visiting nurses. since my mother has parkinson and cant get around, she needed someone who could come to the house. she prescribed the meds my mother needed, but overtime we need refills, its a constant struggle between myself, my pharmacy and the doctor to renew the prescriptions. sometimes my mother has gone for as much as a week without having her meds, with every time, my pharmacy telling me how they try contacting the office 3 times, plus faxing twice. its absolutely ridiculous.not to mention, the visiting nurse assigned to my mother, always argues about what time is more convenient for her to come, knowing full well that my mother cannot go to the door to let her in, and needs to come during a time when one of my mothers aids is in the house. i would never recommend this doctor or her services to anyone. i am hoping when i go to the parkinsons clinic next weekend, that i can find another service.
