Told me i couldnt order checks in branch. Turns out i could.Terrible customer service on phone calls. Long wait times for someone to discuss you and tell you the wrong info. Wait times are underquoted and when you get transferred to a manager they will gaslight as if you wouldnt be upset for getting the wrong info and your card being blocked. Nina is the manager i spoke with and she said she didnt have an agent or representative number. Im sure she doesnt. Terrible! Been wanting to leave this institution for so many years as so many problems have surfaced but this just may have lit the fire under me to take my money and business elsewhere!!!

The wait for the outside ATM is Ridiculous. I should not have to wait an hour to use the atm. Then when Im done with my transaction, Im stuck behind the driver in front of me. This doesnt seem safe at all. Ill be leaving this credit union. Horrible experience!

Terrible customer service, I’ve been working with them since July and I’m still not getting any where. They are slowing down the process of me becoming a home owner. I have missed out on numerous of homes, because of lack of communication. It is now September and I’m still not seeing much update.

Their staff is very caring. Working in customer service myself, I can tell the difference when someone loves what they do or when theyre there only to collect a pay check. Ive been to several locations & I can tell the staff loves what they do. Excellent customer service.

Please find a different banking entity the branch manager lied and said that they talk to the business department about my documents and refused to open my business accounts. Later on that day I was called by the business department and at that time received a verbal apology from him and at that time was begged to bring my business back to the establishment. I was guaranteed that I would be receiving apologies thereafter by the person that was opening my account and the manager for lying. I opened my account and never received any apology. I closed my account one month after due to the disrespect Credit Union One is a bank I have banked with for some of my business account as well as Citizens Bank these establishments will respect you and your business I know first hand. Dont take your business here theyre rude and its not just this location Ive been to other Michigan first and their staff are rude

They should not call this place a credit union, it is not for the working class... it is more like banking with the federal reserve, if it was such a thing...during the xmas holiday PayPal took 3 payments instead of 1, once their system recognized, they returned the funds, michigan first normally release funds after 3 days, it took 9 days, an in the mean time items were being overdraft, but the money was in the account, just pending for over a week...(strike 1) I deposited a check from allstate insurance for only $600 they held that check for 16 days, smh...with technology it should never take that long for a check that small,( strike 2) yesterday (friday) I deposited a check, was told they would release $225 on Monday and the rest on Tuesday...they like to play with my money tooo much for me ( strike 3) Im done and I will be closing both accounts as soon I switch all of my automatic pay accounts...

I was a member for about 7 or 8 years I closed my account out because I got tired of not being able to visit a branch due to me living in Ohio plus out of those years I never seen any perks of belonging to an Credit Union so after talking to a relative who explained to me that his representative told him about a lot of great perks and he utilizes all of them I decided to give them another try Cassandra helped me which I didnt care for her customer service at all and than after being in there an hour I was told since its been less than a year of me closing my account I would need to pay them $60 in order to open an account I didnt owe them or anything so why do I have to pay you $60 to join your bank again Thank You for making it easy for me to stay away good Job 👍 Michigan First Eastpointe Branch

Do not fall on hard times while you have an account open with this credit union. Due to a job elimination by way of a confidential severance, waiver and general release agreement. My full time employment was re-classified to a part time position until my job was terminated. I lost everything. I also became in debt with Michigan first. I was out of work for 2 years. I have since paid off my debt and my credit score is 617. It was 655 when I first opened my account. I also had a personal line of credit due to my good loan payment history. Yet, I have called multiple times to find out if my accounts could be re-opened at the gratiot branch. The loan center refuses to tell me yes, or no, over the phone. They want me to drive all the way there just to give me an answer. Also, I have called multiple times to find out when they would make changes to my credit report re: my accounts being paid in full. They keep telling me the same lie all the time. It will show up real soon on your credit report. Yet they still have not done it. I have credit karma. And it is not showing up. If they refuse to let me open my accounts back up because I fell on hard times, I can live with that. I am just proud of the fact that I am back on my feet after falling on hard times. I would like them to properly credit my account.

Been with this credit union for 5 years. Twice I have went to the atm on Gratiot and have had an issue. The first time the atm went offline and locked in my money. Thankfully the next day it was found. The second time I cashed a check and when the card was supposed to be returned to me the atm went off line and locked in my card. When I called customer service I was told since it was a Friday night I would have to wait until Monday to get my card back or go into the Evergreen branch on Saturday morning to get another card but of course I would have to pay $12 for a new card. I was highly upset because of course the atm going offline is not my fault so why should I have to pay $12 or not have access to my funds until Monday. All I got was an apology no other efforts what so ever. I am definitely leaving this credit union.

Continue to be disappointed in this bank it sucks. I was talked into joining it by my fiance BIG MISTAKE! Now I see that they do not have any Saturday hours at any location wow this for a lack of a better word credit union sucks. I will transfer my accounts to my new credit union which is so much better.

The three top managers of this credit union branch have last names of Dewey Cheatem & How When I was charged an improper service fee I presented my case to a service representative in person at the C.U. She agreed the charge was improper and reversed it. When I went back to apply for a boat loan, I found that they had broken their previous agreement on this improper fee and they reversed course and hit me with it again and they said they would not give the fee $ back. Can you believe they let a customer walk out who qualifies for and wanted to apply for a long term 4.99% loan. Do the math, they lost many years of interest profit only because they could not live up to an agreement they made with me, and to see past their baseless application of a small, dumb and wrongly applied fee. They might as well hang a Red Cross banner across the front door, cause when you do business with them, they are going to do what they can to bleed you dry!

Been a member of this credit union for years, Today the Eastpointe branch was visited for a possible loan, it was denied not just by my credit score but by other sources I use to have money deposited into my account. Underwriter Ms. Toarimno seems to think it was a joke Im not happy with the treatment I received.

It is so peacefully meditating to wait and watch the salt water fish swim while waiting in line for a representative. The new building is awesome and it feels so warm when you enter the building to be greeted with so much love as if their really your family.

Wish I could give zeroLet me start by saying I have a mortgage with this establishment I refuse to call it a c/u and I transferred part of my savings from my bank because my fiancé is a member with this establishment she talked me into joining I did we bought a house through them I’ve bought several houses in the past but never through them it was by far the worst experience I have ever gone through unprofessional, slow ,it was like dealing with someone working out the trunk of their car in a alley I don’t know where they hire the loan officers from but they need to retrain the one we dealt with I need to put her name out just to let everyone know who it is oh it was @ the Eastpointe Branch so fyi please don’t waste your time dealing with it.

Carla the teller ruined my transaction , then refuse to talk to me about it , having to call 5 times due to them putting money in wrong account, horrible customer service and still dont know what happen to my deposite and they policy is to not refund it. And not to tell me when its settled ? Cant contact gratiot location only the call center horrible customer service

Very disappointed went in after work to take out a loan to move and I was denied I don’t know why but I have been with them going on 4 years have never got a loan from them and they wouldn’t even give me a chance by giving me a small loan, i thought since my credit was in the 600s I was gonna be able to take a loan out with my Bank when I don’t rarely have over Drafts so I’m be looking for another credit union cause I thought Michigan first was the right credit union to be with but there not cause they won’t give there members a chance

Your debits dont update promptly causing fees. The credit union does not protect its members against foul play and refuse to reimburse for fees.
