Front desk staff, ultrasound tech, and doctor were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional! Great experience! She even made sure to get lots of good ultrasound pics to take home.

Felt so well taken care of here for our first baby! As a healthcare provider myself I felt totally confident in the excellent care I got. The office and support staff are also amazing, couldn’t ask for a better experience with excellent doctors.

I just started coming here and just wanted to say Morgan, from ultrasound, and Sarah Linhart are angels. Both made me so comfortable, and Sarah did a awesome job of walking me through my care, as well as answering all my questions.

Not very satisfied with the overall care received here so far. I have a few weeks left to go. I feel like every appointment is rushed and my concerns are never fully addressed, so then I end up not bringing anything up at my next appointment since I feel they don’t take me seriously. For a high-risk clinic, I guess I expected more understanding and more comprehensive care and attention to concerns, especially since I have chronic health conditions.

Im so sorry some people had less than ideal experiences here. Personally, I absolutely love them! They made my transfer from New York smoothe and stress free. They made the last 2 months of a very high risk pregnant so easy they monitored me with such care and concern, Ive seen many doctors and nurses and each one was as great as the last. They even welcomed my service dog with open arms. Now my baby is here safe and sound and I am back with them now for my second! I wouldnt go anywhere else!!!!!

Duke Perinatal took great care of me during my first high risk pregnancy. The nurses and providers truly care about the well being of their patients. We received the most compassionate care at each visit and they always took the time to answers our questions without making us feel rushed for time. Of note, Alice Cooper and Georgina Keene are two of the best PAs Ive ever worked with, in addition to the wonderful MDs.

I had a very bad experience at my 36 week ultrasound this past 9/3/19. The sonografist was unable to answer my questions/concerns in a friendly manner. She was insensitive and showed no worry for my overall comfort and even acted aggressively when trying to check/see my baby’s face due to my baby covering her face with her arm. She also had a very nasty attitude when my husband and mother tried to ask her questions. The sonografists name was Alison. Overall I felt very dissapointed and uncomfortable as I had previously been so excited to attend this visit. If you are a potential/future patient, I reccomend to avoid her care; as there is a possibility you will not enjoy the experience of getting to see your baby which is supposed to be as special and comforting as possible. I also had a bad experience with the care provided afterwards by the doctor. She seemed very rushed and uninterested. Initially she didn’t even asked if we had any questions. She just handed us the results and headed for the door. Her name was Dr. Maria Smalls and I was very dissatisfied and upset with her care as she didn’t show any concerns with my worries.

I switched to this practice while 36wks pregnant with twins. I had a bad experience with my previous doctors at Durham Womens Clinic and was referred here. Dr. Heine was awesome in assuring me they could deliver my breech presenting Twin B with no problem. He was sure to properly note my file and even called me after my appointment personally to makes sure he had all my details and needs correct. He went the extra mile to check with all the doctors on staff for the next few days to make sure they were also in accordance with my needs and that made me trust them. Two days later my water broke and I was able to have my twins naturally and they kept their word and didnt press a cesarean even though my Twin B was still breech to the end. At the hospital all the doctors and nurses knew what I needed because of Dr. Heines explicit instructions. I was so impressed with how everything went even though I didnt receive all of my prenatal care with them. Their expertise and willingness to avoid a cesarean meant the world to me. 5 stars all the way!

The nurses here are fantastic as well as the front desk staff but the doctors are the absolute worst. They had my medical record mixed up with someone else my very first visit and told me wrong information about my pregnancy that nearly gave me a heartattack. I have had experience with 4 different doctors so far and the experience was the same. Rushed & very uncomfortable. I feel like I dont get all my questions asked because as soon as they walk in, its hey, everything looks fine, see you in two weeks. The entire time they have one foot out the door. I obviously come here because i am a high risk pregnancy and cant go to a regular doctor so each visit I am dreading to hear bad news. I always have a list of questions that I wanna ask about my pregnancy but things are so rushed and Im being talked over constantly. You would think they would be more compassionate towards paitients. But instead Im made to feel like if i lose my baby then oh well, not anything they can do. Im made to feel unimportant or valued. I dont trust these people with my pregnancy and the well being of my daughter at all. I feel like they dont care. If anyone knows a better option for me please feel free to recommend. Stay away from this place if possible. I felt better taken care of by the wonderful staff at Harris and Smith.

After my son was born through them, due to their neglect and refusal to help me, my son almost died. He spent two weeks in the PICU and he was so emaciated that they couldn’t even draw blood. He wouldn’t latch onto anything and all they said was that ‘it’s your fault because you’re a bad mother.’ Verbatim.I ask for the donor milk that I signed for and they wouldn’t give it to me. They deprived him of food for well over 24 hours, and when I asked them all throughout the night for some, the nurse refused and told me to keep my baby quiet because his crying all night was annoying. He was born at 7lbs 7oz and because of their neglect, he went into the PICU in Greensboro at 5lbs 2oz and dropping. Please, for the sake of your child don’t go here. It doesn’t end well. Also, ironically, they put a 7000 dollar bill in collections that was paid for in full by Medicade after almost killing my son. I posted a picture above of him in the PICU he had IVs in both hands, a feeding tube, and we had to feed him on top of all of this. Synthetic food, and liquid in one hand, and antibiotics in the other. They gave him little boxing gloves to keep him from pulling them out. Please, whatever you do, don’t go. We traveled four hours thinking that they were the best in the state, and this is what happened. Next time, we will be having our second child in Greensboro at the same hospital that saved my sons life. Never again with Duke on anything.

I am giving a 3 because everything with me there was good until like 1 month before my c section. In the NST my babys heart rate dropped to 90 and they told me that everything was good because heart rate went to normal quickly so thanks that i kept my appointments with my regular OBGYN at the same time because on 02/20 I was in Duke checking with the NSTs the same happened and they told me everything good again, then Thursday 02/22 I was in my appt with my regular dr and then when he saw that the babys heart rate dropped to 90 again he sent me to cross to the hospital , then over there i was being monitor for 24 hours and my babys heart rate dropped again and resolved by itself quickly then 02/23 at 35 weeks he told me that a c section need to be done and he cannot wait more when for our surprise my baby was with nuchal cord wrapped X3, so the NICU told my husband and me that was a miracle my baby was alive, so Duke failed us so much and I am so disappointed with them. Also they did an ultrasound to my babys kidney and supposley some dilatation on his kidneys was resolve and was not now my baby got a kidney ultrasound and the problem still there and now was referred to an urologist pediatric.

These people are terrible! I have a syrinx going from the base of my spine up. I am under constant supervision for it, and any slight fall or increase in back pain is an immediate trip to the ER. I have annual MRIs because of it, on top of a variety of nerve related issues because of the pressure its putting on my sciatic nerve. Now, I am 33 weeks pregnant, provided all of the medical documentation and images to show that natural birth is not possible without the risk of paralyzing me from the waist down perminately, but each of their OBs would rather risk that via a natural birth then provide me with the c-section I requested specifically because of this. They do not listen. They said all of my medical issues which makes me high risk arent medically relevant to warrant a c-section. Their anesthesiolgy team told me they didnt even want to risk an epideral because it makes them nervous and that the individual on shift might opt to have my fully sedated if they personally are not comfortable with administering an epadural. They then proceed to tell my OB the exact opposite and want me to meet with their neurosurgeon because my surgeon and her notes arent up to par with theirs. On top of that, they said specifically they might numb me too much stopping my heart and my lungs if they administer an epidural for natural birth, BUT once again theyre willing to risk that so long as I dont get a c-section. They do not listen, they move your appointments without notifying you, and now I am stuck at 33 weeks trying to find an OB that will take a high risk pregnancy and do a C-Section that isnt over a two hour drive away (which Duke already is) and isnt willing to risk my life and my babys to keep their C-Section rates down. For a medical facility that collaborates with NIH for medical research, and takes pride in all of the high risk experience and elective c-section success rates, theyre not very skilled when it comes to weighing risk and gain. Go to a local facilty that allows you to see the same OB consistently and isnt willing to risk perminate paralysis of the mother for no reason other then to maintain their comfort level.
