Our RV Club Triangle RV ers of NC. Had a wonderful time at the campground last year and we are planning to come back this April 2021,very clean, nice people to talk with. Just getting out of the house and coming to a place real close to home is great. Everyone enjoy life..

My family stayed in Loop C this weekend. We were in campsite 8. We really enjoyed the location. Its right near the lake, so in warm weather you can definitely take advantage of it. Its a little close to the RDU airport, so you do hear airplanes occasionally flying over. There is also a shooting range nearby. We heard the gun range some on Saturday morning, but it didnt last all day. The facilities were nice. We went in early November. It was nice to see that they have plenty of hot water and the bath house is heated. There are several shower stalls and multiple toilets on each side (men and women). The campsites were nice and maintained. There doesnt seem to be well defined tent pads, but we made due on the fine crush and run gravel in our site. I would recommend checking it out!

Well maintained campground with lots of nice space around the site. Went in April during pollen festival so that added an extra dimension to the overnight stay for sure (see photo of pollen drifting through flashlight beam).RV people are loud, so dont get a tent spot too close to Loop B. Also, planes fly low overhead at night, so if you wake up thinking theyre about to land on your tent, dont worry. The boat ramp and swim areas are not accessible before 8 am, so you cant go out to the peninsula for sunrise.

Decent place to camp. Only complaint is the little centipedes. So many!

Great place to spend quality time with the family. This particular campground was very peaceful with a rolling hill, wooded terrain. The lake shore is more rocky, so there is a danger for snakes and its a little hard to find a spot to fish from the shore. Once we found spot, we were catching fish left and right... mostly catfish. Tip, best to bottom fish here or set the bobber high so as to get the bait deeper. I didnt try artificial, so give that a shot as well.

Weve been here 4 or 5 times. Very close to home. You get to get out in nature and relax here without having to drive 3-4 hours to the beach or mountains.

Wonderful, beautiful state campground. Rangers and staff are very helpful and accommodating. Spacious, well kept sites and restrooms.

Awesome state park!! We stayed in loop B right next to the fishing pier. My boys loved the fishing. Showers and restrooms were clean. Checkout the sunrise in the morning over the lake if you can.

Great camping area, clean bath houses. You can pretty much find a spot even last min.

Great camping, hate it is turning cold

Great campsite, great amenities. They have a fire ring at each site, besides the handicap accessible, where they have one of those standing grill and a fire pit that was a little different. The bathroom had showers and heaters that worked well.

Loop C bathroom was always filthy. Our site had a lot of trash/litter that we had to pick up throughout our stay.

Nice campground however not happy about being charged a transaction fee when paying cash to the ranger. NC Parks seem to charge extra for typing your address/phone info into their database.
