I have been going to La Plata Family Medicine for years. They have been going through a transformation with change in doctors, staff and their portal. I had a visit today with Dr. Kristin Alt. She is very professional and prompt. I was very pleased with Dr. Alt and look forward to her being my primary physician.

These folks are very difficult to contact. However, when reached they are very amiable. Unfortunately, when there was a problem with a blood test, they did not inform me promptly due to an administrative error. They assured me that it would be addressed by a supervisor. That combined with the challenges I have contacting them makes for a challenging experience.

My wife has been denied treatment after being told by ER doc to get to her personal physician asap. This is over $40 after weve spent countless amounts of money at this place. I wish I could rate it 0 stars. Pathetic

Heed the warnings of all the bad reviews here. Unfortunately this place is the most unorganized and un-professional medical experience I have ever had. From the mess behind the desk of client paperwork thrown all over the place and laying out for the world to see, to the inappropriate and explicate music played in the waiting room, the employee at the front desk saying she thinks she had COVID but hasnt been tested, and all toped off with waiting nearly 2 months for PAP and blood work results that they lost some of anyways. I do not recommend this place to anyone, and will never be back.If you are placed on hold, hang up as no one will be back to help you. When I finally did get the test results back, the doctor hadnt actually translated them, and I have to call again to actually get the results. I randomly received a text today saying we changed systems and know you have suffered Okay...thanks?When I went on my patient portal, there was one of the three vaccinations I had actually reflected there, and when I called the woman said I have to request my information be put on the portal. I am not someone to write poor reviews, but the last two months of communication simply trying to get simple results, after a horrid experience in the office prompted my review. I can not believe that they get away with the clerical nightmare that they have in that office.The only good thing I have to say is that the people there are very kind when you actually do get to speak to anyone. Perhaps it is simply poor management. Either-way, its not worth having your medical records lost or mis-communicated due to lazy communication.

Never really been happy with this place but go bc husband goes there. He had Dr Jordan Loftis and liked him but hes gone now, too. If youre placed on hold when you call, may as well hang up, the wont come back to you and the muzak in phone ear is loud and repetitive. Over and over and over...drives me crazy. Office charges are outrageous as in $189 just to ask for prescription they would not fill. Youd think they could do a zoom mtg for stuff like that, but NO, you have to drive from wherever you live (35 miles for me one way) for nothing! Office staff and nurse staff turnover is ridiculous! Never have I ever seen the same face twice. Finding new doctor finally!

I highly recommend La Plata Family Medicine. My experience was wonderful from check in to check out. Dr. Davenport was great, and did everything I needed done in one visit. My medicine was sent to the pharmacy during the visit. Zero complaints from me!

Horrible experience. I was misdiagnosed and ended up in the hospital a week later. Then the billing department messed up on billing my insurance for my visit and when I called the billing lady Marcy about it she was very unhelpful and even hung up on me. Very unprofessional I recommend going elsewhere.

From what I read in recent reviews here, nothing has changed but their location. It’s too bad that Dr Quayle is now with this group as she is an excellent doctor with a fine reputation. La Plata Family Medicine didn’t return phone calls or respond to letters when they overbilled me years ago and it looks as though they still just see patients as $ Signs. They terminated me as a patient rather than to correct their billing.

Very disappointed. My boyfriend went in for a new patient exam asked two questions & was charged $90. I went in for the same type of appointment asked three questions & was charged $177, and no one could seem to provide me with an answer as to why. Pretty pricey for 10 min of his time. I had a dermatology issue I wanted checked & the Dr. didnt even look at my skin, just took me at my word as to what the dermatologist said. Dr. didnt even call me with blood test results, an office staff member did. The lab was dirty. I felt like I didnt matter, Im just a dollar sign. I will not go back.

Not five stars only because they need a better phone system. Ring, ring, ring, ring -- cut off. Repeat. At least get something that allows someone to leave a message for a callback, or put the caller in a queue. Otherwise, I like the place.

So happy I tried La Plata Family Medicine. They saved me from paying the urgent care co-pay by getting me in as a new patient walk-in for a strep test. Front desk, nurse and doctor were all wonderful. Very happy with the service I received today.

The new doctor, Dr. Green is awful. He had terrible bedside manner, confrontational, accusatory- refused medication ive been taking for 20 years without even learning my history. I have been a patient here for a decade and now me, my wife, and my children will be finding a new PC.

Lauren Loftis was so amazing. When she left I had to change doctors and felt their complete disinterest in my care. No one gets back to you, test results remain unread, no feedback from the office. I have already scheduled a new patient visit with a new provider.

These guys made an appointment a few days out, whereas others would be months. They were kind and courteous and helped me with what I needed in a friendly and professional way. Plus it wasnt too expensive for a guy without insurance. Great experience!

Very poorly managed, would leave me sitting in waiting rooms until I had to leave for work and still charge me for an office visit, charged me for an in home visit that never happened. Doctor Harrison prescribed me a medicine I turned out to be allergic to and would not listen when I told him, he just changed the dosage on it. Lied to me about how much things would cost, charged me for medicine Id already paid for at the pharmacy before hand. If you value your health at all do not go to them.

Hideous experience. The doctors and nurses are usually friendly. Well, to your face. However, the front office staff and billing department are incredibly rude and hostile. To your answering machine and via mail. Approximately 30 minutes after my appointment, the billing collector called me to say she would report me to collections for payment; I had just left the office and they said you dont owe anything for today. But forget about calling billing back, because they wont answer. If you want to be treated poorly, this is the place for you. If you would like compassion and kind providers, dont come here. The ladies up front make sure to let you know that you are unimportant and a bother; one just got up and went for a cigarette while she knew I was waiting at the counter. This is unfortunate and unacceptable. I cant believe this office. Dr. Loftis had always been kind to me, but during this visit, I heard her say oh god before she came into the room with me. Nice. Oh, and my five minute visit with Dr. Loftis was a complex medical visit. Interesting. Dont come here. The other reviews are correct.

Went in for a Wellness visit. I happened to ask a question about my back and knee that took an additional 10 to 15 minutes and apparently was not part of the Wellness Exam. I received a bill for $185.00. I called and asked if the invoice was correct on July 12th and was disconnected four different times. I finally sent an email through their portal and never received a response. I called August 1st, 2019 and received a return call on August 2nd, 2019. Mia said the invoice was correct. I suggest a different provider, especially after being charged $13.00 a minute.

Dr. Morford is great and is the only reson i keep going. The office staff is a pain to deal with. The doctors are over booked. It is impossible Make an appointment in be seen the same day. Like if youre sick.

They will charge you so much just to go in for a simple wellness check and a doctors note. Ridiculous to pay over 100$ out of pocket for that. According to my insurance it wasnt covered based upon how this office submitted my visit.

A call to fairness - I have been seen by Dr. J. Loftis for years and have received excellent care. My wife has been seen by Dr. L. Loftis, his wife also for years, also excellent care. I have been able to get short notice appointments, as well as short notice labs and communication from support staff has been good. Every place will have ups and downs, they continue to expand staff because demand continues to grow, I think at times that might show itself as growing pains, as it were. Perhaps that is what others have experienced. I recommend my Doctors and hope new patients will give them a fair chance. Jess

I was really looking forward to starting a relationship with Dr. Lauren Loftis at this practice, heard great things about her. But Im sad to say that the administrative, not clinical side of this practice isnt up to par. I had my appointment rescheduled twice, apparently this second time for their vacation...with only short notice. My partner had a message that he needed to reschedule his appointment, and when we called to do that, he was told that Dr. Jordan Loftis wasnt taking anymore patients his age (59). So I dont know what is going on here, but 3 strikes is an out in my book. Im sure they wont miss us and have plenty of patients, but this is no way to run a business. We have lives and schedules too.

Billing and front desk are rude and cold and cant follow their own procedures, which will end up negatively effecting the patient not them. Also, all but a few of the doctors make you feel like a number on a chart instead of a person. Twice Ive been in and the doctor didnt look up from the computer once to even look at me.

This office has friendly people but needs to upgrade how they operate. I had blood drawn last May, never got a call back and had to call them; I got two different responses: 1) youre blood came out fine and 2) your results arent in yet. They couldnt figure out if my results were in.Secondly, the hours say they open at 8 but I guess thats not true some weekdays because of doctors meetings. At my restaurant, our servers have meetings until 5pm but the cocktail waitresses are there to take care of people from 3-5pm. This office should have a similar system!!! If your hours say you open at 8, someone should be there to help people at 8!Lastly, again I called for a prescription and asked for a call back as to whether I had to see a doctor or if the prescription just got sent to the pharmacy. I never got a call back.Again, the staff is kind and patient but the office needs an efficiency upgrade!

This office should not be allowed to be in practice until they clean up their act.There are a variety of things that happened that no woman should have to go thru when discovering she has breast cancer ... I ended up leaving the office the early afternoon after I found my golf ball size lump b/c they would not get me in for an appt that would get me to Breast Care Center prior to weekend - we are Durango... small town... someone could have taken 15 minutes with me... and that was after being mocked twice by one of the office staff... no one should be made to feel ridiculous when they are terrified because they are discovering they have breast cancer... furthermore... there were a variety of other things that happened that showed how incompetent the front office staff is... and how the back end office cant be bothered ... too long to post here.I was never going to mention any of this ... but after getting a call from them for first time since December (three months later) to see how Im doing because I had been to the ER (which was nearly two weeks earlier)... well it put me over the edge ... I expressed everything that happened to me to them... AGAIN... and got the same bizarre response which actually included ... well maybe this was all to happen for a reason so that you would end up in Denver... yup... that was said to me.I will never step inside those doors again.

I had a very unpleasant interaction with Dr. Lyons at this office. He was unfriendly and had to be pressed to answer my questions. Essentially it was obvious he had no investment in my health, or my understanding of it. I hope it was merely a bad day. The rest of the office functioned smoothly and efficiently, with kind faces and smiles.

Ive been a patient at LPFM since starting college in Durango in 1993, and now my husband goes there as well. I have always had good, thoughtful care from everyone at the facility from the office staff to PAs, nurses and docs. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. My physician is Dr. Jordan Loftis, and I have always appreciated his willingness to take the time to answer my questions.

Incompetent crooks...ask them zero questions as they will bill you hundreds for simple yes or no questions. They billed my company to the wrong address, then sent me one notice (a final notice of collections) and when I called to dispute the matter and extra charges they acted like robots and read from a sheet of paper and would not listen to an entire sentence without cutting me off.

Absolutely horrendous service. I once scheduled an appointment which I sat in the waiting area for 60 minutes, only to FINALLY be admitted to a room where I waited another 45 minutes for a doctor who never showed up. I just got up and walked out. Every single time I try to call these people they act like Im such a damper on their personal time. The most RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL group of people I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with in Durango. It would behoove you to look somewhere else. I have never once been treated kindly by this staff. Worst business in Durango.

Told conflicting information on test results, then when I asked for clarification was told I would need to meet with the doctor again. Office seems to be disorganized and uncaring. Avoid this place if you can
