My wife had a procedure recently which required surgery and an overnight stay. The staff and facilities were top notch. Staff was extremely supportive, friendly and went to great length explaining the operation process, recovery process, medication types and their use. Facilities were very clean, on site pharmacy with good prices was very convenient. Cant say enough about the great service, we wouldnt hesitate to use them again or recommend to others.

We met the most compassionate and caring and understanding nurses in my entire life here. During one of the scariest times of our life. I can’t express how much that means to me and my family. Thank you!

If I could leave no stars or negative stars I would. My daughter was in excruciating abdominal pain and was referred there by the urgent care. My daughter attended the college, so I had to drive three hours to meet her there. They sent my daughter out in tears with how rude and disrespectful the doctor treated her. So uncaring and condescending. Did NOTHING for her literally and I am billed an outrageous amount for the NOTHING TREATMENT SERVICES. Just so sad at how they treated my loved one.

Our kiddo broke his arm scootering at the skate park. One of the skaters (an older guy named Jeff) said to come to this location.I want to try to remember everyone, but there were two Daves, Bert(?), Dan, Dr Phipps, Silver, and a few others. One of the Daves was the ER doctor, the other involved in the anesthesia team.I could go into detail, but the ER team, Orthopedic team, and Anesthetic team were all great. They started taking care of the patient while we were still trying to fill out forms. There was NO WAIT. They tried everything to get him taken care of in the ER, but we had to escalate because of piece of arm bone, so thats how we met everyone else. The thing Im trying to say is that we were treated very well, were kept informed the entire process (repetitive is good in a high stress situation). They never talked down to anyone from on high and treated our kid, and his mom, with high respect. We left with one dopy and banged up kid, but not one question about what to do next, what to keep an eye out for, and for how to regulate the meds properly. We also left feeling well taken care of and very happy.Cant think of any other ER experience like that. Fantastic.

Worst ER care I’ve ever received. Had to visit the ER and was told by the ER doctor they couldn’t treat me. I wasn’t there for more than 10 minutes and have been charged an outrageous bill. I spent more time talking to the front desk than the doctor himself.

I was very pleased with all of the doctors, nurses and everyone else who works at Animas. Although was extremely disappointed in the WiFi. There was none to speak of. I get more WiFi or data outside. This really needs to be fixed for your “guests “

Extremely rude front desk help, nursing staff, and supervisor/office manager. The doctor was very nice, respectful, and clearly knowledgeable. I would avoid this place at all costs because one nice doctor cant compensate for a rude office staff that lacks people skills.

We had an ill family member. The wait at Mercy ER was 2 hrs, so we went to Animas Surgical hospital and were seen in minutes. Everyone from the front desk, nurse and physician on duty were top notch, friendly, competent professionals. They did a thorough efficient work up and supplied us with our initial medication as the pharmacies in town were closed. it was the compassionate care we needed, Thank you Dr. Hill and Mablene!

I have had numerous surgical procedures performed at this hospital and all of my MRI’s etc. They are the BEST in Durango. Animas Spine and Animas Orthopedics have the best doctors hands down. Fast and caring ER. Great Independent Pharmacy included. Don’t miss out on the best care in Duango.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hammond’s with Anima Orthopedics for several years. He did the revision of my first hip replacement. He’s replaced both knees, minor hand surgery, various injections, and now I am preparing for him to replace my other hip. I have also used the services of Animas Podiatry the GYN Department, Animas Ophthalmology, and Animas Spine. They are all super, and the hospital is just as awesome. The medical imaging department is second to none. When I have an MRI the technician hooks up the music on my iPhone so that I can listen to it during the scan. All the other ancillary departments like Lab, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy are awesome. The front desk and admitting personnel are an example of what every hospital should strive to reach. Every form is explained before signing. Every ‘t’ is crossed and every ‘i’ is dotted. This hospital also boasts a fine pharmacy and small ER. Both are top notch with politeness and efficiency as though they created the terms.Did I mention the nurses and CNAs yet? As a retired ER RN, and I am very familiar with patient load. It’s simple..... the more patients assigned to a nurse, the harder it’s is for patient and nurse alike. This inpatient staff has a 1:3 ratio. Three patients per nurse. It must be like VIP service at other hospitals. AND, they are very professional, but down to earth as well. They joke and laugh with each patient, but patient care is never comprised. The CNAs have always been the biggest help a nurse could have. They give baths and showers, make sure you brush your teeth, keep the bed linens and patients fresh every day, not only do they take scheduled vital signs, they know when the nurse needs to be immediately informed regarding critical numbers. If you’re thinking about becoming a nurse, you should go to school and be a CNA for a couple of years first. The food is catered with delicious choices for all three meals, and there are the usual jello, ice cream, crackers, and an assortment of beverages for the in-between cravings. It is no wonder this hospital is ranked highest in the State of Colorado. But speaking of great departments, every phase of the OR experience is like watching a fine tuned well oiled machine. Every employee is a top notch professional that makes your surgical experience as stress free as possibleHowever it would be inexcusable not to mention two of the most important departments that every hospital should be very thankful to have......a great housekeeping and maintenance department. And also just as important are the receiving and supply departments. If I’ve missed any operating function or department it was not intentional. I hope one day to have all my medical care established at this one hospital. It’s very well worth driving from Cortez to receive this fine care.

Caught them trying to take 2 mris when only 1 was needed. They thought they could over bill the insurance company. When they were told money was an issue cause I was paying out of pocket, they changed it to 1 mri as originally planned. $950 less. Then one day before the appointment, told me I needed a different authorization and needed to cancel.

How do you go to the emergency room in the middle of the night, wait for an hour for them to tell you what you already know. Yes you have an ear infection, but sir we do not have any medicine at the moment so we will just write a prescription and you can maybe fill it tomorrow or go to another hospital.Oh!!!! But when it comes to charging the bill is at the door a week later. For what? You idiots did nothing.NOTHING!!!!
