When it became evident that my dad wasnt going to live much longer, VITAS surrounded my family with an entire team of compassionate and skilled caretakers. We felt loved and confident that my dad was being given the best possible care as he transitioned into the next life. I will always be grateful to VITAS for being with us during such a difficult time.

The Vitas group is a very caring group. Their Representative Julie G. is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Their team of Nurses, Clergy, and Musical Therapist are very caring and focused on life experiences when working with their clients. It is comforting to know they are there.

Vitas Healthcare of Central Ohio took care of my father in his assisted living facility. They were a great comfort to my mother who was very worried about her husband of 62 yrs. Vitas then had a huge presence for my mother when my father passed. They continue to check in on me after 3 yrs! Excellent hospice!

In September of 2018, we reached out to Rev. Dr. Mark Hensley to inquire about assistance for the family of Mr. Sylvester Sutton who was in need of hospice care. Dr. Hensley and the Vitas team were caring and extremely supportive in helping his wife Barbara and the entire family during this challenging time. Vitas assisted the family with resources, equipment, attentive care and walking through the process of securing Mr. Suttons wishes to be home with family during his transition. I am grateful for the Vitas Healthcare team - all the nurses, staff and clergy that provided professional attention which allowed for the process to be - not easy but easier, not 100% smooth but smoother, not painless but with less pain. Thank you for being there!- Edward Hill

I am posting my comments to express a heartfelt thank you to VITAS Healthcare for taking care of my mother while she was on service. Because of the extra level of care we could focus on our mother as her children, and not worry if she is being cared for the way she ought to be. Our mother did not have the dignity at birth that she was given while on hospice. Her name was Martha Ann McNeeley, she was born a premature baby in the 30s, her bed was a shoe box. Her source of nourishment came by way of a dropper with Carnation milk, this was the doctors order at the time. He warned our grandparents she was to tiny to make it. Grandmother followed the doctors orders, her premature baby aka Martie eventually grew out of the shoe box and became a healthy child. That little girl grew up to be a marveolus woman who married our father, Larzell Hensley. They were married for more than 50 years, only to be separated by death. From the marriage three children were added to the family, Mark, Paul and Karen. We were her crown jewels revered as her greatest accomplishment in her life, because she too knew her story. Our mother and father worked hard so we could have a life they could only hope for. As she aged, she had a loss of memory coupled by a series of traumatic brain injuries.Hospice services provided the dignity and comfort our mother was not born into. Her last years will be fondly remembered by the seamless care and tenderness of hospice personnel who were like extended functional family. Hospice care more than made up what we thought our Mother should have in the way of comfort care. To this day, as children we are grateful for the gift of hospice, and collectively we say thank you for taking care of Mommy. My Dad is not one with words, but I can say in this moment, his eyes would water, upper lip quiver and he would whisper..Thank you for taking care of Martha. In our opinion, every family deserves the experience of being on service with VITAS Healthcare.

Our family was blessed to have been given the name of Vitas Healthcare to take care of our mother. I was called just five months after our family put her into an Assisted Living Facility with a message of you have two options, either take your mother to the hospital to get a port put in for dialysis, or call in hospice. A statement I could be believe because the night before I had just taken her out for dinner. Thanks to the care of Vitas Healthcare, mom was here another 20 months. Though many members of their team came to assist mom, the few I befriended were Adam, Sue and Dee. These three, plus several who I dont remember their names, always kept me informed and cared for mom as if she was their own mother. Adams occasional call to make sure our family was doing okay, Sues frequent baths given to mom to keep up her hygiene, and Dee (and several other nurses) occasional call to let me know moms vital stats. The care given by Vitas Hospice of Dublin was always top quality and far above what I feel she was given by the facility I was paying to care for her.In the final week to ten days of Moms life, the pamphlet (Making the Most of the Time We Have) given my sister and her daughter, helped them transition from the grief they were feeling into a better understanding of what mom was going through. Twice the attending doctor, whos name I cant remember, explained to them what stage of life mom was at. I could see a change in their attitudes by this information and is now helping them through the grieving period.I will call Vitas again, when the need arises.

I’ve had a wonderful professional experience working with the team at VITAS. They provide wonderful services and care to our residents at Dublin Retirement Village. They provide communication and follow thru by not only the clinical team but the reps as well. Additionally, they have great education that’s available to help support our team. Thanks for all you do!

Ive had the pleasure of working with Vitas for last 3 years and I would highly recommend their services. I appreciate their sincerity and heart for the work they do. Their responsiveness when questions or concerns arise, reflects the customer service that is needed in healthcare when providing excellent care for our loved ones. As the Executive Director of a community, I have worked hand in hand with their nurses, care staff, and representatives, I can truly say that through my experience this is the hospice company of choice.

My family used Vitas for hospice care in January for our dad thru the Dublin OH location. Even though they cared for him for only 2 full days before he passed we were extremely pleased with the tender and gentle care each nurse provided. A big thank you.

We are very unhappy with this healthcare company. We feel that we have had very poor service and that the staff is combative and at times rude. Staff not on time, staff not showing up at all, no phone calls and then when you try to talk to someone, you get treated poorly. Two main areas I would have expected from a Hospice group would be to order medication on time (didnt happen) and then to keep the patient and familys stress and anxiety levels down. Instead this group chooses to blame the family members, threaten family members and become hostile. I just cannot understand how a healthcare company can condone this behavior.
