First excellent office staff very welcoming and make you feel comfortable. Doctor Hardesty is an excellent doctor. Listens to you and addresses your concerns. There is not a feeling of being rushed. One of the best eye exams I have ever had. Would highly recommend this office. In a very convenient location directly across from Good Samaritan Hospital. Also plenty of parking. First, let me say these 2 stars are not a reflection of the incredible doctors who practice here. Ive been coming here since 2013 and both Dr. Hardesty and Dr. Loydall have provided incredible care to me. In addition to that, the techs are also amazing and thorough, especially Cindy. My only issue, today and just about every other time I visit, is when its time to check out, the billing staff is ready to make you pay upfront for services that are sometimes covered by insurance. Every single time I have to go back and forth about what is covered under my health insurance plan, which Im happy to do, but usually theyre feeding me a ridiculous number that is never accurate! & instead of allowing insurance time to process claims, they are ready to swipe your card at the front desk as if they cant send you a bill later in the mail! Its the most absurd thing Ive ever experienced and also quite frustrating.Today, for instance, the manager, Brittany came over and spoke with me for 35 minutes about me owing almost $200 for a pressure check and visual field test, which are both covered under my United Healthcare coverage. She was convinced I should have to pay this because I hadnt met my deductible for the year, when these are both services that are covered 80-100% in my health plan due to my glaucoma diagnosis.As I tried to explain this to her and even called a representative with United, she continued to argue with me about an unmet deductible. However, as a licensed therapist who works with insurance companies and billing, I asked her to explain if theyd covered these services on my last visit (they had), what CPT codes theyd submitted, and if my diagnosis was also on file. I said none of this to be smart, but to make sure I wasnt paying for services that could/would later be covered by United. Once she could tell I understood the process and I mentioned that the information she was telling me went against everything I was billed for last year, her entire tone changed and she was apologetic about explaining there must be some kind of mixup that needed to be worked out on their end and theyd be in touch once they had an answer from my insurance company. In her exact words, Don’t worry about it sweetheart, well get it worked out. Why she felt comfortable calling another grown woman sweetheart, I have no idea.Nonetheless, it should have never taken 35 minutes for that to happen. & it literally happens every time I go. I submit claims for work all the time that insurance companies will sometimes try to deny and before I tell a patient what they owe out of pocket, I try everything on my end to rectify the situation. Expect just the opposite here. Im so frustrated I felt the need to leave a 4 paragraph review, but it also makes me want to switch providers for my eye care. Insurance companies mess up all the time, I get it, but why stress a customer at the front desk if we can send them a bill in the mail? Ive never not paid for any services received and I hate that this is the model they operate under. Access to service and navigating the healthcare system is hard enough, staff should be doing everything they can to simplify the process, and unfortunately, that did not happen today.

I have learned so much today. Dr Hardesty is excellent. A genuine gentleman that explains how marvelous my eyes are and the road map I am on. We’re making preventative adjustments to better my future. Thank you and God bless your work. I cannot say more wonderful things about my experience here!My eye insurance changed so I had to find a new eye doctor. I was bummed at first, but now that Ive gone, I could not be happier. The entire staff was amazing. Dr Frank took plenty of time to go over my vision and some potential issues and had a wonderful chat as well.The woman helping me with my glasses was so knowledgeable and helped me pick out new every day glasses and prescription sun glasses. She grabbed pairs for me she thought would look good and was spot on!I cant wait for both of my new pairs of glasses to come in!

Missed seeing Dr Hardesty, a friend and caregiver for 40+ years, but I am so glad he’s back, even if it’s only on a limited basis. But Dr. Frank was thoroughly professional, spent as much time with me as Len would have spent, dealing with both my eyecare and other wholistic concerns. Dr. Hardesty is the consummate professional. When it comes to eye care there is no one I’d rather have as my doctor than Leonard. His staff is attentive and caring. The selection of eyeglasses is outstanding. I absolutely love my Maui Jim sunglasses!

I had an acute visual impairment (dislocated intraocular lens), and Dr. Frank saw me on an urgent basis. He was able to restore my vision to a functional level while I await corrective surgery in a month. This was huge for me, as the other eye has an advanced cataract, and I was not able to function well with such limited visual acuity. Recommend this practice whole-heartedly

The examinations performed here are go well beyond anything I have experienced before over the nearly 60myears I have been wearing glasses. Founded by Dr Hardesty, who still practices here, this is much more of an eye care clinic than just a place to get new glasses or contacts. Rigorous C-19 procedures removed any such concerns for me. Dr. Loydall and the staff were 5 stars.

I have been a patient at Hardesty Eye Care for 27 years. I have several problems with my eyes and have worn glasses since I was 10 years old. I have much the same problems as many seniors do with the added results of having had shingles in 2017 and I am still dealing with that. Dr. Hardesty has closely monitored my eyes for all these years and I feel very confident in his care. Although I have no interaction with Dr Frank I do credit him with meeting me after hours when the shingles rash broke out and he treated me immediately.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hardestys for nearly 30 years. Never once have I felt that I was receiving anything but the very best of care and concern. His approach is not cookie cutter; it is individual. Yesterday I had the pleasure of Melissas administering of the various tests and rooming. I expressed a concern about something that happened that resulted in my computer screen being too small to read comfortably, and she made a suggestion that has alleviated the problem. Our whole family has been going here for over 20 years. Care is first rate, exams are thorough, and the doctor takes the time to explain each aspect of your treatment. The exam includes many medical aspects of eye care, so it does take longer than the updated eyeglass prescription exam you would get at Walmart. It is worth it, though.

Thats one of best eye care places Ive been to. People there are really nice. Dr. Loydall is very professional, knowledgeable. By seeing by eyes, she also told me I might have low vitamin D and I did have. Its a very good place to go if you had dry eyes like mine too.

Severely myopic, over the years as my needs evolved, Dr. Hardesty guided me through progressive and contact lenses, lasik procedures, cataract removals and PRK. Thanks to his knowledge of state of the art research, use of the latest diagnostic procedures and prescription eyewear, my vision continues to be excellent. I just called to get my prescription mailed to me. Kathy answered the phone and seemed annoyed that I was calling. She didnt really provide me with any helpful information. She told me the doctor was out of town and would be back in the office on Tuesday. Okay, thank you, I said trying to be polite to the enraged Kathy. After this she abruptly hung up on me without confirming my address, which has changed. I have no idea if they are mailing my prescription or not and even if they are its not going to the correct address since I was hung up on for no reason. Needless to say Im never coming back there again.

Even with insurance (VSP), they will charge you anything they can. After it was all said and done, it ended up costing over $1000 for the needed tests, one pair of glasses, and a few months of contacts. The practicing optometrist is unfriendly, out-dated, and will run extra tests to hike the bill. It is not disclosed that these extra tests are out of pocket expenses and not covered under insurance. Afterwards, when trying to get the charges covered by insurance, their office is unwilling to help when contacted by myself and the insurance company multiple times. STAY AWAY!
