When you do get service it is good, but don’t try to call at 4:28 on a Friday, the appointment person will pickup the line and hang up so when you call back you will get the answering service.

I was a patient of Dr Tedder’s for years, moved away and decided to come back to his practice. Christina is the rudest person I’ve ever encountered at this practice. She was very demanding, harsh in her tone, so immediately decided to cancel my appointment. This person is causing the practice to lose patients/money. It was so bad I want to stop in the office and personally inform Dr. Tedder.

I called on behalf of my sister in law who was looking to get cataract surgery on both eyes. I was looking to get a quote since she would be paying cash and wanted to know the costs that were associated with it. The person who answered the phone seemed to rush me and was not very helpful. I was then transferred to billing who also seemed to be in a bit of a rush and did not break down the costs and I had to probe for answers. Neither of them were very helpful. Before I got off the phone I only had the cost of the surgery but was not given a break down of exactly what was included. Horrible customer service.*Thank you for replying. I was not looking to receive a discount and was not interested to know of any now or at that time. I simply asked what your charges were and was told the amount but again was not provided with a breakdown of those fees. I certainly understood when I was told that they were not sure of the hospital fees and what was included. Again, your staff was not very helpful and if they could be as polite as you seem to be, it would have certainly made mine and others who seem to have had issues with your staff a more pleasant experience. I thank you for your time and for your reply.

Dr. Tedder is my go-to doctor not only for regular appointments, but he saw me in an emergency and got me into a specialist which help save some of my eyesight. Office personnel are great and then moving on to the Douglasville Hospital, I couldnt say enough about the way they treat you. I guess I was somewhat underwhelmed. I wasnt treated rudely and Im not saying dont try this place yourself. I had high expectations based on the many positive reviews and the fact that all 3 doctors are ophthalmologists but that all just sort of fell flat.All my interactions with everyone I encountered were just very matter of fact and not particularly personable. It was the latter part of the day and maybe everyone had just had a bad day?This was the first time I had been to an eye doctor in about 12 years. I was hoping for the best in service and latest in technology but the equipment and procedures were no different than what was used to examine me as a Marine recruit 30+ years ago at Parris Island.I repeatedly mentioned my concern over a family history of macular degeneration. My grandmother and mother were both legally blind in their early 70s. I was hoping for some advice on how to avoid this myself but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. The same goes for me mentioning that my eyes constantly ache and burn and that I have recently become very sensitive to light. I was hoping I could get some recommendations for how to alleviate this but again these concerns were mostly dismissed.I was told at the conclusion of the exam that I was fine and see you in a year. Upon checking out I owed $20. I handed the lady my HSA debit card that had a few thousand dollars in the account. She was unable to get this card to work although my wife and i use it all the time at other doctors and pharmacies. I ended up just paying it out of pocket.That was it. No one mentioned the in-house optical shop or suggested I stop by and see the people there. I had to ask how that worked and what the hours were. At this point I was pretty fed up with the whole experience and shrugged my shoulders and left. I guess I will get my glasses elsewhere.I was just very disappointed and was hoping this would be my go to place for eye care and I could send my wife and three daughters there as well. I will keep looking after this experience. I am baffled after all the glowing reviews I read and I even heard the other doctors in the practice in neighboring exam rooms having much more animated and engaging conversations with their patients. Mine seemed like they were just wanting to check me off the list and wrap up their day. Again, maybe I just went on an off day? Oh well. Just felt compelled to share the experience.

I recently had cataract surgery and have some suggestions: 1) Instead of questions like - which do you prefer seeing up close or distance vision, or driving at night ... You should have asked me - Are you happy not seeing the dust on your ceiling fans and baseboards and does it bother you not to see the spider webs and spiders hiding in your basement?Since surgery I have lost 10 pounds, cleaning all those things I never saw and I am exhausted. On another note, I am now driving at night and once again believe I am the best driver on the road, and everyone should attend Sheilas Driving School for lessons.I must now close and go clean all those dirty electronic screens, as I have just noticed the fingerprints on this screen and I believe I see something under my fridge and stove so they must be moved and cleaned behind and under.You and your staff deserve an A+ by their professional attitude and willingness to listen and report accurately.

Ive been in the city of Douglasville since I relocated from Fl in 1999.Since I have type two diabetes it is necessary that I have my eyes checked every year. My diabetes specialist recommended and referred me to Dr Hemming. It has been nothing but a pleasure being treated by Dr. Hemming. I highly recommend him and his staff for any eye care needs.

My appointment felt rushed. I didn’t feel like I received a thoroughExam. The tech examined my eyes and the doctor just measured the pressure. I was told the reason being for all of this, is that he is not a optometrist but an ophthalmologist. When speaking with the doctor about my concerns, they were dismissed. When you are young and seemingly healthy, I notice the exams are brief. It should be a better practice.

These are the best glasses I have ever been prescribed EVER. I can see so much better and Dr. Hemmings took such good care of me. He went out of his way to meet all my eye care needs. Only con I have is that they dont accept Care Credit so I had to go elsewhere for the glasses. Please change that policy so myself and family can get our glasses there.

My husband has been going here for 30 years. They are the ones who told him of his eye condition that most of the people in his family have. He warned all in his family because their doctors will know what to look for. I dont go every year for eye checkups. I was very upset when my cataracts bloomed in one day and I couldnt see anything. It says theyve been open since 8:30am....I notified the newer staff member that I was shopping around but signed in. There were no other customers except the woman that left directly after I signed in. I ended up waiting an hour and left. Im ordering glasses online.

I have been a patient of this practice for over 5 years and I have been delighted with the professionalism I have received. As a senior, I am most concerned about my vision health. Dr. Tedder is very careful to explain to me the findings of the various test performed on my eyes during my visit. Not only that, but he compares the results to those of my previous visits in order that I might easily understand whatever changes may have occurred to my eyes in the interim. I have been blessed not to have had to change glasses in several years now which I attribute to the competency of my examinations. I have found the office staff to be very courteous and helpful with most of my visits starting very close to my appointment time. I know Dr.Tedder to be a Christian man (as I suspectthe majority of the staff are as well), and I find a certain comfort in thisknowledge being a believer myself. I cannot recommend this practice too highly and they are most deserving of my 5 star rating!

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Hemmings at the Douglasville Eye Clinic in Douglasville and it was awsome. The technician knew exactly what procedures to preform. I actually had never had as many checks and balances that she performed before in my 60 years of wearing glasses. The staff was terrific, knowledgeable and very polite.
