Great gym and holy cow the restrooms!!! The owner definitely put some $$$ into making the womens locker room so beautiful and private. I absolutely adore this place. I transferred over from Crunch about a month ago and its never crowded nor are you having to wait and WAIT for machines to become available because kids want to use it as a hangout. This is my first time trying a local gym and while yes it is more expensive, you certainly get what you pay for and Im definitely one happy DAC member!

Ive been working out here for about 2 years now and I have to say this place feels like home! The people who work out here are fantastic and the staff are always positive. They have all the free weights, cardio and lifting machines you could ask for. And they have a sauna! Theres quite a few options to choose from in the wiregrass area, but I promise once you try this place out, this will be your home too. Highly recommend!

Great experience at spinn class

One of the large and popular gyms in Dothan, AL. There is everything one could ask for in a gym except a pool. There a ton of cardio machines, free weights, two weight rooms, exercise room, etc. I went there as a guest with a friend and was pretty impressed to note that a small town such as Dothan has a great gym like this.I am going to become a member soon and start enjoying the facility and getting healthier.

Great ownership. Awesome power and free weights much better gains for serious trainers. . I went to PF once and got.fat and lost all my muscle., but am back home at DAC for good.

This place is a joke!!! I signed up for 24 hour access along with the access of the steam room. These two privileges were breached months into my contract. I continued to pay because I was in contract, I asked the owner about the steam room and his reply was, do you I have $5,000 to repair the steam room? My contract was up in April and I called to get instructions and to make sure I would not be charged for following month. I was told I was set. A month later I was billed again. I called back to get understanding and never got a phone call back. I was then billed again a second month before I was told to come fill out a cancellation form. I came by a filled it out and was given a speech about a new gym coming to Dothan. Why not to join them and why I should stay a member. The manner of how they treated my situation was completely unprofessional! I wouldnt refer anybody to this place. I understand that Im just a small number to this business and If I my business doesnt matter, why is it so hard for them to not refund my two months of membership. I ask everyone to think twice about joining this gym, because the manner that business is conducted there is highly questionable.

So just a word of caution to anyone joining this gym- when you sign the contract if your payment doesn’t go though for any reason then they send your information to a collection agency. I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card and had to get a new one so then my payments didn’t go through at DAC and instead of calling me to update the payment, they sent it to a collection agency which tripled the price I owed DAC and hit my credit score. Absolutely awful and the people that worked at DAC didn’t care and said their system is set up to send member’s info to the collection agency as opposed to updating payment. This gym does not care about its members at all. I moved to Crunch and it’s much cleaner and there’s no fee to leave the gym and I doubt they’ll forward members to a collection agency instead of simply making a phone call first.

So I am trying to decide which gym I want to start back to in Dothan. COVID has really made a mess of working out and I suspended my membership at Planet Fitness, until things got better as far as pertaining to the COVID crisis.I am having to rely on ratings and feedback and after trying to decide between PF, DAC, or Crunch the past reviews have made it difficult to decide. It appears that DAC involves a lot of Red Tape to join or leave their club and is rather expensive, however they do have more amenities, but would I use them and would it be worth the hassle as others have listed below. On the other hand Crunch is very affordable, but crowded and everyone is on top of you from what their reviews state. I have been a long time member at PF and the Enterprise location has been my home gym since it opened. I enjoyed my time their and the staff where very nice and I absolutely recommend that location. The Dothan location has not lived up to the Enterprise standards.However, I live in Dothan and that’s not a option for me at the moment. So I am relying on reviews and feedback, before signing another contract. I have three stars based on reviews for this gym to narrow my decision down.

I went in an cancelled my contract because Crunch was coming to Dothan and had to fill out a cancellation form. I had no issues with Dothan Athletic Club. I then went to Crunch to get my membership and read their contract and they charge $175 to cancel plus $25 process fee and in the contract it says they can change the draft date and amount at any time without notification so, I returned to Dothan Athletic Club and I will stay there always. I love the staff and the cleanliness and have never had an issue with the use of the steam room like the guy in one review claims but I heard and his gf are making negative reviews on here because they are upset they didnt pay their bills and it went to collections. All the people at this gym are good Christian people.

Nice variety of free weights and machines, several different classes, tanning beds, showers, sauna and childcare. What more could you want? Very nice place.

When I signed up for the membership I ask the employee about the military clause. They stated no problem we are military friendly once you get orders just come back and cancel no problem. However I came in completed the form and now owner is saying he has no military clause . I have to pay fee for breaking my contract and serving my country. Horrible business not military friendly at all .All Military members do not use this location find a different gym !!

This by far is the worst business I have ever encountered. I went in and canceled my membership in April, paid my last month for May. I was waived all of my cancellation fees because they never had me sign the back of the contract stating their fees. I received written confirmation from their manager stating it was cancelled. They have sent me to collections. After calling multiple times and EVEN GOING IN with their cancellation document and receiving an apology from the manager himself stating he will take care if it, THEY STILL HAVE NOT. I now will be sending two emails with attached documents and I’m pretty upset with how they handle business. Worst gym ever and even worse customer service.

Great staff! Just wish they had new equipment, lighter barbells for training and others to help make training easier. And if theres a class, good luck finding a place to stretch.

Good company, nice place to hang out while getting into shape

I have been at this gym for over 3 years and love it. The staff and personal trainers in particular have always been extremely nice and helpful. A big deal for me is they have a standing calf raise machine (which I have found no other gym to have). As long as Im in or around the Dothan area, this will always be my gym I call home!!

I really like the variety of equipment and ability to take classes all in one place. Super friendly crowd and staff. Such a comfortable environment and atmosphere. I always look forward to my after work workouts now!

Best gym in Dothan. Its the cleanest, has the most equipment, staff is excellent. If youre in the market for a membership, dont even waste your time checking other clubs.

Ive been a memeber at Max for 8 months now and have been treated like family. Im greeted with a warm welcome each and every time I walk in. The training staff is always available to answer any questions I have which is a huge plus for me. Not only is Max a place of salvation to me but has become my home away from home.

I normally work out about 5 to 5 times a week! I find Max fitness to be a great gym and a good price. The have lots of equipment and even some of the more unique machines I like.

I am new to the area and Steve let me drop in for a workout to check out the gym. He was very welcoming and didnt harass me with a sales pitch. He let me do my thing and when I was done, I approached him about monthly rates and whatnot. The gym itself is a gem. There are not many gyms like this anymore. It has a big open area with plenty of newer pieces of equipment and cardio machines, but my favorite is the free weight area which is separate and appeals to people that like the old school feel. There is nothing like the sound of clanging iron plates. The changing areas are surprisingly updated and have both a steam room and suana. I only wish that they had a platform for Olympic lifting.

Reliable management. Good gym. Completely different place than it used to be. Id recommend to anyone.

This is a REAL gym - no Planet Fitness mess! Great employees and members! The only thing that bothers me is that it’s a bit cramped. There’s too much equipment for the space which makes you feel like you’re working out in someone’s lap sometimes.

The staff is pretty nice but I will never again sign up. They want me to pay $900. Ive only attended this gym one time

The biggest complaint I have is they say they are 24 hours, well yeah, during the week, but not on the weekend. I understand people need time off, but dont say youre 24 hours if youre really not. I like to workout after work, and I get off late at times, but how can I workout if yiu close at 9 on Friday, this is not a 24 hour gym. Just saying....

A clean and non-intimidating place to workout, this has become my favorite gym. The group classes are great and the staff is super nice and knowledgeable, always willing to answer my fitness questions.

I cancelled my membership over a month ago, but my account is still being charged. Management has yet to call me back and I have been calling everyday. They are somehow always conviently in meetings. Girl at the front desk was texting on her phone the entire time giggling while I was trying to ask questions. Horrible customer service!!!

This gym has the worst customer service I have ever seen. My contract with them ended in February and they still charged my account again in March. When I called them the manager trye got extremely rude with me and said I needed to come down and cancel my account. Im sorry but I thought when a contract says expires in February that meant my account was cancelled. He called me a liar and hung up the phone on me. Very rude and unprofessional do not attend this gym
