Sebastian and I have gone to quite a few different vets to find the perfect fit. Dothan Animal Hospital is one of the few vet clinics around here that actually pay close attention to the care of your pets; rather than the profit they can make off you. The doctors here treat your pets that they were their own! And Sebastian and I are so grateful for it 🐶❤️

Don’t take your animal here for anything serious, especially surgery. I saw healthy dogs go in for a simple surgical procedure and come out with failing kidneys. I saw vet techs hit dogs that wouldn’t cooperate while sticking a needle in their leg. No one wore gowns or gloves while handling possible parvovirus cases. Also don’t bring your pet in for an emergency, the doctors don’t work with any sense of urgency. They wouldn’t even give pain injections before performing exams on pets that were obviously suffering. I would not trust my animals with them.

Ok but not that confident in the service or diagnosis. Stayed for 2 years with 4 pets. Left to go with Marianna animal hospital which MUCH BETTER and they support the local animal shelter

I started using Dothan Animal Hospital when my husband and I moved to Dothan a few months ago at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. We thought it might be difficult getting in and settled with new protocols and what not being implemented; however, they have been nothing but WONDERFUL. All of the veterinarians, techs, and office staff are responsive, helpful, sweet, and knowledgeable. They tell me exactly what I need to know; they give me options, without pushing (like a lot of vet clinics do with their products). Overall, I know my babies are in good hands when I take them there, and I feel comfortable. 10/10 recommend!

We took one our Bulldogs in to be examined due to an emergency. Our regular vet wasnt able to see him and referred us to Dothan Animal Hospital. The dog required xrays, surgery, reconnecting disconnected joints, staples and sutures, anesthesia, antibiotics and pain meds. From the moment we walked in the front door the staff was prompt but compassionate. Caring while yet being professional and understanding. The Vet (Dr. Garrett) has been phenomenal as well. They explain to you the situation. Gives you different options if possible for treatment and realistic cost estimates for the treatment option(s) you choose. We had to leave him for 5 days for daily exams, care and bandage changes for his injuries. We have received daily updates from either the staff or the doctor. For us that too has meant a lot. We have been nothing less than completely satisfied with every aspect of our experience with Dothan Animal Hospital. I highly recommend them to anyone. They are an amazing group and what you hope for when faced with an emergency involving one of your 4 legged family members. We cant say enough good things about them. Thank you all so much!!

Staff was so nice and helpful! Went out of their way to help with with large litter of sick puppies. The doctor even donated treatments for one puppy. Highly recommend. They are amazing. Very honest. Never felt pressured to make purchases.

My cat Snickers is a long haired cat and it has been driving me crazy. I scheduled an appointment to get his shots, bath, nails trimmed and his hair shaved. They did an excellent job and I just love my little tiger. He feels so much better. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. I will definitely use them again. Thank you

While Dr. Harris and some of his staff seem competent and professional, I recently had the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. This was thanks to one of Veterinary Assistants named Anna. I asked her is she could check with Dr. Harris about something we had previously discussed about our dog approximately a month prior. Anna immediately acted rudely and arrogant and informed me that I must be mistaken. So, realizing she was not aware of my previous discussion with Dr. Harris, I elaborated on the information some more. This time she put me on hold and 10 minutes later informed me her supervisor was looking into it. I asked her to elaborate and when she did I realized that she was just repeating steps that Dr. Harris and I had already been through. So finally I explained the situation in great detail. It appeared that she became aware that she was mistaken about her assumptions and started blaming Dr. Harris and the other staff for not informing her. At this point I simply asked her if she could just have Dr. Harris contact when available. The next thing I know Dr. Harris is accusing me of cussing out one of his employees. Just to make it clear I never cursed, yelled, or spoke rudely to Anna in any way. I explained to Dr. Harris that he had just been lied to by one of his employees but he did not seem to care. My best guess is that Anna in her realization that she had acted very inappropriately decided it was in her best interest to lie rather than risk a customer making a complaint against her. Needless to say we have found a new Vet and would highly recommend Southeast Al Veterinary Hospital.

We have used this office for 40 yrs. Since Dr. Garretts father was there. They have never let me down with any of my animals. I love Dr. Garrett and Dr. Harris and so does my Sassy and Maddie. I think Sassy would just stay with them if she could. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Thanks for always being there for us.

Dr. Garrett and Dr. Harris are the best! The entire staff is friendly and always concerned about our pets. We have been clients for years. We have been through cancer and old age and now we have one that only loves me... they are great with him and were great with the others. Our Max was 18 when we lost him so they took really good care of him.I cant say enough nice things about this clinic.

I had been taking my babies there for years since I moved to the area! Warm and caring staff. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere... The reason I am giving ONE star is because, there is NO option for NO stars.... In the past, I have always taken my babies to the spay and neuter clinics. However, in 2016 before I moved away, I took one of my new babies to be neutered.... He became incontinent of urine and died about a week later! How can such a simple procedure turn out so badly!? I am ANGRY and HEART BROKEN and I will NEVER get over it, nor will I EVER understand why it happened...! 😔 For spay and neutering services go to the nearest SPAY AND NEUTER CLINIC.. Its 2018 and I have just had 2 new babies procedures done at my LOCAL SPAY AND NEUTER CLINIC and NO ISSUES! They are doing great!

The staff is wonderful! Best clinic I have ever used! They know all the fur babies by name! They keep great records on your pet and send reminders when shots are due. They really do care about your pet!! I won’t go anywhere else!

Seems a bit money hungry. After asking several questions about pricing, it took a few days to get a legitimate quote. Quoted a price for an xray and visit. They decided to do another xray without consulting us first, in turn doubled our bill. Almost $600 in on this place and dont feel like i got my moneys worth. They still want more money. Not going back. Ill keep my business with my original vet. FYI. They also dont have any night staff. So if you have a pet stay overnight. They have no way of checking vitals and such until the following day.

Recently we lost our dog of 16 yrs. Truly a part of our family. We had to put her to sleep due to sickness. This was extremely difficult and heart breaking. This was our first visit and we were treated with the most understanding & compassion a person could ask for. We feel blessed to have come hereand Gucci was treated with such gentleness & care. A very Special thank you to Anna, Brittany, Tracy & Dr. Harris. We will never forget how you helped when we needed you all.

Absolute best. All of the staff were professional and very friendly. Treated my dog as if he was one of their own. Would definitely recommend to anyone. They made time for my dog even though it wasnt a life or death issue. I called them late in the day because he had an issue with his eye and they told me to bring him on in. They even called the next day to check up on him. Excellent service from great people!

I took our Yorkie in for shots, the were quick and very friendly. They made sure I knew all the shots he had to get and as any follow up that was needy. Highly recommended 😊

Dothan Animal Hospital went above and beyond for my cat Teddy. Very knowledgeable and patient in explaining to me the situation and build a plan of action. Most of the staff, especially the doctor himself, was very compassionate. However, Brittany could use a little work on her bedside manner. Kind of made me feel stupid when I asked her to break down the bill/cost of everything. Other than that, Id definitely recommend DAH to fellow friends and family.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and doctors at Dothan Animal Hospital! From the very first time I called inquiring about whether or not they did canine ACL repairs I was impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the staff! They take their time with you and really make you, as the client, feel valued. The attention to details and the amount of information they give you before, during, and after a procedure is greatly appreciated, as well as the quality of aftercare. No feeling confused or rushed out of the office here. No doubt I will be back! Thank you for easing this worried dog moms mind!!!

I highly recommend the doctors and staff at Dothan Animal Hospital ! The whole staff shows compassion and care from the front desk to the back office. When we had to make the decision to have our Blaze put to sleep, they spent time counseling with me over the phone and when We brought him in they took a lot of time explaining things to me. I never have felt that they were in too big of a rush to take care of us ! They truly love the fur babies !

Great clinic, doctors, groomers almost everyone is great. The receptionist is lacking but gets job done. If we could work on her people skills it would be a 5 star place. Unfortunately anytime you call or have questions you have to go through her. Shes rude, and grouchy.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars bc they deserve it!!!! Everyone in the front office is friendly and helpful and both Drs are amazing!!! They go above and beyond and I can’t sing their praises enough! My baby, Charlie Brown, has to be boarded occasionally when we go out of town and I personally hate this but I don’t worry about him when he’s there bc I know he’s more than taken care of. The girl in the back, wish I would have caught her name, is so sweet and Charlie loves her! If you’re looking for a vet in Dothan, this is it!!!

A wonderful experience!The veterinarian and vet technicians are polite and knowledgeable. They took care of my cat and patiently answered every question that I had. I am new to the area and had his vet records transferred from his previous clinic, and that process was very easy too - they even caught an error about my cat that went unnoticed for a year.The waiting room is clean, the patient room is also tidy and low-stress for your pet, the prices are very fair and reasonable, and the staff loves your animal and treats them like their own pet, even down to the way they baby-talk to my cat haha :)Dr. Garrett and his team are excellent, and I am happy to trust them with my buddy.

Took my dog Neecie there for her entire life. Anita always had my dog washed so clean and made her smell so good with a cute little bow to make her so pretty. They always knew her by name and was the kindest folks.

I wouldnt want to use any other vet! Absolutely LOVE Dr. Garret and his staff and how they go above and beyond. They call to remind you when your dog is due for his vaccines and treat them like royalty when they are there. Would recommend this vet to anyone and everyone. Thanks for all yall do!!

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. My dog and I have been twice, and he acts like we are at an indoor dog playground. Also, the office cat is so friendly and docile, and adds some entertainment while you wait. Thanks for taking care of my dog!

Drs. Garrett & Harris have provided compassionate care for my dogs - working hunters & family pets. Theyve provided options for care when confronted with difficult treatments have been encountered. The staff has been attentive to my needs and have taken good care of my dogs. We appreciate the donation made in memory of Ellie - our beloved Golden Retriever.

We have been using Dothan Animal Hospital for years. I couldnt imagine taking our pet anywhere else. The staff and Doctors are very courteous and caring. Everything is explained in detail and all questions answered completely. Great atmosphere and very friendly.

I took my cat in as an emergency visit and was treated like a long time client. From the front reception to the Vet Tech and Dr. Harris everyone treated us with genuine care. What was just an emergency visit has turned into a permanent home for us.

I couldnt be more happier with a vet than I am with this one. They treat my pets well. Very polite. My 14 year old Golden Retriever was having all kinds of issues. I took her there and the problem was resolved almost immediately. Within 2 weeks she was back to her old self. They were awesome a year or so later when I had to put her to sleep. They treated me like family. They explained everything to me. Of course I stayed with her until her last breath. They helped with getting her cremated, the urn and everything. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone that loves their pets. They love them back. You cant ask for much more than that. My other pets like them too. Will continue seeing this vet. Update: I have taken my new pup Molly there now since she was about 2 months old. She is healthy, loves everyone up there. She gets her baths there every couple months along with her nails trimmed and other necessities. Wouldnt give up this vet for nothing. Very happy with them still.

Expensive! Well dog steroid shot at Dothan Animal Hospital = $68.46 versus Ozark Veterinary Clinic = $25.00.Took the dogs back 30 minutes past our appointment time despite our being the first appointment of the day and arriving early. Dr. Garrett was very friendly.

Got a check up on my service dog before we travled... the staff were great. Some times I dont understand things right away and they were very nice about explaining it to me so I could understand it.

Took my two dogs in for boarding due to my husbands emergency hospitalization. made room for them in a heartbeat, they stayed several days, were well cared for and came home smelling sweet.

The staff is so nice and they really love the animals. The receptionist Amber is the most welcoming and sweetest person ever!

We rescued a small dog running across Ross Clark Circle end of June. We took the dog (George) (I named him) to DAH to check for an implant to find owner. They took the dog in right away, check him, and no implant. no records on him, so i had them give George his shots (all) and they checked him out. all of the ladies we met were very professional, thorough, and took an interest in the dog. even helped us try to find the owner, as George was very well behaved house broken. I would recommend Dothan Animal Hosp. to everyone. Many Many thanks to this group. oh and they were very reasonable as well.

I contacted the office about a matter concerning my dogs. I was instructed that I would need to speak to the office manager, however she was unavailable so I would need to leave a message. I did. No reply.The next day, I called again. They told me to email her so that she would be sure to get the message. I did. No reply.This continued for over a week. (I guess shes extremely busy) 🙄I called again with the same question a few weeks later...guess what, no response.However, they had no problem sending me mailed correspondence about my pets needing their annual visits.I called the office to make their appointment, this they could happily take care of. When I asked to speak to the office manager before I confirmed the appointment regarding the messages that were not returned, they placed me on hold. Did she answer...no. But she did send a message through this person that she had asked someone else to call me back about my question. Apparently they forgot to do that...repeatedly. And she was still too busy to pick up the phone to explain this herself!Please dont pass the buck. And doctors, know who you have running your place. If they cant handle your business with the public it reflects on you.

Maybe its because I AM an OLD employee, that I feel the way I do about these folks.( worked with Dr Garretts dad) They are attentive,caring,compassionate people. They treat my dogs like family. I never feel rushed or uninformed. The OLD group is no longer there, but I know the standard of care they are held to & am sure I am getting it. I understand animal people because I AM one. Started there as a MUCH younger woman & am now a nurse for humans. My time is prescious & my animals more so....I will continue to recommend Dothan Animal Hospital !

Theyre the best. Peco had pnemonia and was sick for three weeks from time spent at an animal shelter. Dr Garrett made sure he prescribed him the right meds that l paid for at the pharmacy and meds from his office. Getting my furbaby well was worth all the money l spent. Peco almost died. Peco get all his shots at the Animal Hospital since l bought him at Dream Puppies at 6 weeks. We love the staff and Dr.Garrett. Peco is truly loved and spoiled there and at home

I have been taking my schnauzer here for a few years now. At her previous vet when we would step foot inside the office she would start crying and yelping as if she was in pain, I honestly thought she was just being dramatic but now I realize it was much deeper than that. After a couple visits at Dothan animal hospital I could tell how much care and compassion they have towards humans and furry friends alike. My dog has not once cried or yelped when entering Dothan animal hospital, she actually likes it!! She’s always eager to talk and make friends with other pets In the waiting area lol. Their prices are reasonable as well! Every one I’ve encountered here from receptionists, vet techs, and dr. Garrett are all polite and caring. Highly recommend!!!

Everyone at Dothan Animal Hospital is wonderful. They are patient will me, the mom...lol...and love my animals, their pricing is very reasonable, I will always use them for anything i need for my pets, food, meds, treatment, boarding, they do it all.

Take back previous stars..But did not test for any VIRALS my newly adopted cat from Animal Shelter.Which let us believe we could introduce our 2 INDOOR cats to the new car...after few days we took new car back to this bet who tried to say she did not have any thing wrong.WRONG..and the Viral can not be curedso my 2 home cats now have a deadlynoncurable virus which has habit of becoming a fatal asmaetic &my cats will then have to be laid to rest.We are already experiencing the coughs & the effect of the VIRALShame on that bet for not being thorough when he was aware of this being a totally new per to come to our home with 2 perfectly healthy for thelast 1-10yrs. But are now facing a very unpleasant short life span!!😕😢

Dothan Animal Hospital is the best place to take your pet. They love them as much you do. Even when you find a stray in your back yard and your husband says no and you say yes to bringing them into your home.

This is absolutely the best place you could take your pet. When our dog ate a bag of ant poison and there was a possibility of him dying, the staff and Dr. Ben Garrett were so compassionate and caring for the wellbeing of our pup. They werent just nice in the office but made a point to call us for the next weeks following that incident and check on him. Amazing Staff from the front to the back! Brought two Shih Tzu furbabies to them when we located to Alabama. My older pet needed to have surgery. They explained every option and each step along the way. Vet and staff took amazing care of my pet! They did not pressure me into any added expenses-they told me what was available , what was medically necessary as well as what was optional. I feel as though my babies got the Best care possible because they treated them as if they were their own pets!

DAH has provided veterinary care and boarding services for my pets for many years. I have always been satisfied with the quality of service I have received.

After over 20 years with them it is just not worth it any more. We could live with them being over priced but the old office staff is gone and with the new staff you never know what the payment policy will be from one day to the next. Be wise and shop around.

I have a 8 y/o yorkie that just so happened to have worms. Missy was using the bathroom all over the place :( I knew something was wrong. The nurses and the vet was AWESOME...they took extra care of her and made sure she got exactly what she needed. They saved her life and that is something I will remember forever...thank you all at DAH... yall are awesome and I would recommend you guys 10 times over. I love the fact that they send email to remind me of Missys appointments, AND by mail. Thank you so much...

Great Vets and great staff

I am visiting from out of state and called the day before I went in and tried to make an appt for my dog to have her eye looked at. The girl told me to just come in first thing at 8am and theyd see her. I got there in the morning and waited for 2 hrs. When I finally got her attention and asked when I would be seen, she said Well you didnt make an appt. I told her what was said to me the day before and that I had tried to make an appt and she just stared at her screen and finally said, Well what did you need them to do, anyway? I explained for a second time what I had told her when I first came in and she said there were still appts booked that day and I would be seen when they were done. I walked out and was able to get in with Banfield right away. I have been to other vets who take people back as they sign in, not just based on appts. I could not believe how unapologetic and dismissive they were!

BEWARE!! If you have a sick animal on a Saturday, please use someone else. Took my very sick dog to the clinic and was told an outrageous amount to perform surgery since it was Saturday. Was told to wait until Monday. Took my pet to the animal emergency room where I found out she was a lot sicker than I was told and would not have made it to Monday.

I am not impressed with Dothan Animal Hospital every time that I go in for a scheduled visit I have to wait over an hour to see the vet. The last time we went in we did not actually see the veterinarian. They have also lost my puppy’s vet records two times now and have no idea when she is due for her vaccinations. We will be switching veterinarians
