Went in on 10/24 to see someone. I have a very bad sinus infection. I went to the clinic before 2:30 pm to see someone. The hours state youre open until 5. When I walked in I was told they wouldnt be seeing anyone else. They were done for the day. I told her I was in bad shape and really needed to see someone. Without hesitation I was told I could go to the urgent care next to Northside Walmart for help.If the office hours are listed until 5 then they should see people until 5.My primary care provider is in this office. Im so upset my own office refused to see me.

Very upset because the waiting room was empty and there were no cars in the parking lot when I had a prescheduled appointment to be seen about a sinus infection and I was told to wait in my hot car which was fine except for the fact that I was waiting for over an hour since check in and I also am very pregnant with pre-eclampsia. Upon leaving the office my blood pressure was extremely elevated and I am having to be seen by another primary care provider about my sinus infection. I do regularly and consistently see my OB, but since this was not baby related and it was related to my sinuses they told me to go to a walk in or primary care office! Just very upset because there was no sense of urgency and I feel as if my health and health history did not matter at all and I left the office in worse shape than when I came in. Please do better

Dr. Ward at Southeast Health Westgate Clinic is a wonderful Doctor! She is very caring and takes great care of her patients ! Top notch in my book !

My mother has copd and heart issues and she can never get any help on the phone when she calls and when she finally does get someone named Patricia she is met with rude and dismissive behavior. I think my mother knows her condition better than whoever she is and shes not her physician. We will be in search of a better facility with more caring staff, if you dont like your job find another profession other than dealing with sick people.

I have struggled chronic sinusitis for years and when I could not see my regular ENT I would go here. Dr Paulk treated me for years then when he retired other doctors treated me, which have done a great job. Typically they would give me a shot, an antibiotic, something for congestion and by the afternoon I could breathing again; within about 12 to 14 days the infection would be gone. Well today, Saturday 30 Jan 2021, I went in with a severe sinus infection, like I had done before, and received no care, only advice. I explained my history and my current symptoms to Dr Wood and she said “oh it is too early to give you anything, keep irrigating your sinuses and take Allegra. If you are not better in 10 days there will be an antibiotic ready at your pharmacy, but you will not be able to get the antibiotic until 10 days from today; let’s see if it will clear up on its own.”So here I am at midnight, completely stopped up, my head feeling like it is about to explode, can’t sleep because a CPAP doesn’t work when you are all stopped up. If you have to go to this clinic as a last resort, remember if you see Dr Wood you may not get any help. I wasted time and money on this doctor visit.

I walked in today due to issues with my left knee. I could not have asked for better treatment. I was moved along at a good pace, each person I interacted with was professional and truly caring, and the place was clean. The visit exceeded my expectations. Thank you Westgate Clinic team for doing such a great job.

This place is consumed with lazy employees who dont take their jobs or the well being of the patients seriously. My mother was out of a medication that is needed for 3 days due to their negligence of calling it in to the pharmacy. The pharmacy had to resubmit the prescription request multiple times to no avail. When I found out what was going on. I called the office at 4:15 only to hear the voice of a recording... But the office closes at 5 pm and you should have a request line available until 6pm. My mother has called the office several times during normal business hours to receive the same recording... This is 3 days and counting.... This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use Dr.Cook here and have always been treated so well by him, as well as check in and nurses! Just recently I had a emergency with my oldest son, and they treated him very quickly and efficiently. Just want you all to know how much I appreciate your care that was given! They even called to f/u on him later the following day!

Service was wonderful. Was in and out quickly and was taken care of by extremely competent staff. Mrs. Theresa was very coherent and professional and Dr. Pippin was competent and made me feel very comfortable. As far as doctors go if you use First med you are in very capable hands. Couldnt have been happier.

I’ve been coming to First Med as a walk-in patient for a year. After my first time seeing Dr. Pippin and her nurse, Kelly, I decided to make Dr. Pippin my primary care doctor. She takes the time to read everything I put on my patient portal prior to my appointment so I didn’t have to worry about expressing my concerns in person. I love that she takes the time to do that as it ensures she’s totally aware of what’s going on with me and why I’m coming in. She also took the time to fully explain her course of treatment and why she thought it best for me. Dr. Pippin made sure I understood every aspect of what was going on the entire time. If you’re looking for a doctor and a nurse who truly care about your well being, I highly suggest Dr. Pippin and Nurse Kelly.

This supposed walk in clinic has started turning patients away 2 hours before they close. What a joke!

I have been a patient of Dr. Cooks for far to many years to count. He has always been very professional. He stays a d listens to what I have to say no matter how long I need to talk or shed a few tears being the pain i live in day to day.The only problem i have is when i need refills on meds, someone will not call in to my pharmacist. It takes forever for this to get done.Nevertheless, Dr. Cook will always remain my doctor until the day he retires.Sheila

Dr. Whitney was very kind and helpful. I was able to be seen within 45 minutes which is a plus especially for how busy this place can get. The only complaint I had was the older front desk woman with the long red hair. Not only did she open the front door late, she never asked me how I was doing and she spent most of the morning talking about the other doctors and nurses as if there wasnt a patient sitting in the lobby hearing all of it. Then she commented, Whoo...not too many people on the books today. And Im sitting there thinking, With a nasty front desk person, Im surprised you guys have many people at all. Customer service starts at the front and with this lady, you guys are going to lose a lot of valuable patients. Other than her, all other staff were friendly.

I have totally changed my mind about 1st Med in Dothan! I had a bad experience the 1st time I called but Ive seen Dr. Fountain twice now and he and his nurses have been wonderful! I was able to get in and out on my hour lunch break and all the staff was extremely helpful! I would recommend 1st Med to anyone!

Went today for biometrics, besides OccMed, some of the friendliest staff Ive seen in a medical office in a long time. Everyone was smiling, and made me feel comfortable. CRNP Baldwin was helpful, and kind for somebody like myself that was having a terrible start of their day. I was called back about five to ten minutes after arriving, would absolutely recommend

I used the walkin urgent care service at First Med on a Saturday for a minor health issue. The service was prompt and Carlton, the nurse practitioner, was very professional and knowledgeable. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. As an SAMC employee, I am really proud to have this clinic as part of our organization. It was a great experience!

I have used Dr. Paulk for over 30 years. I have always found him to be a competent Doctor and he has managed to cure me. He is always willing to take the time and answer all of your questions.

Dear Dr. Paulk,My son came to First Med, Monday, July 3, 2017 with lower back pain. You were the doctor that assessed his need; however you allowed a 23 year old young man to walk…..walk is an overstatement….he left out of your office hunched over creeping like a ninety year old man. He wasn’t given a shot for inflammation, pain, or a prescription for anything. He was only given instructions to WAIT for an MRI approval which could take a few days. A couple hours after he left, I called the nurse to request at least something for pain. I also explained to the nurse that he rarely ever takes any medicine only when it’s necessary. Still he was given nothing. Later that evening, I encouraged him to go to the emergency room because he was in so much pain. At this point that was his only option. It cost him five times his co-pay and triple the time for them to do what should have been done at your office that morning. They gave him a shot for inflammation and pain, and then advised him to make an appointment with Southern Bone & Joint. He has an appoint Monday July 2017.Just a little medical history of my son….it’s literally a small amount of history….He hasn’t gone to the doctor in over ten years. His last doctor visit was with his pediatrician. He doesn’t even take over the counter medicine unless he absolutely can’t cope with his sickness to perform as a mechanic at work.I can’t believe you allowed him to leave without doing anything for him.A very upset mother.

A 2:00 means that not 3, when you tell them your in a hurry, watching out the door staff walking by, then doctor walks in I sit down He says would you rather I see you in the hall. Very unprofessional, didnt go to have smartblank comments thrown my way, I let him know that as Well. Thanks Mr Baldwin, for making me feel insignificant.

Visit this clinic in Sept.2018 for a bug bite insurance paid 100%,I paid a copayment of 25.00 and they have yet to refund my 25,00. Call billing office and told check are writing at the end of the month call again in dec after not receiving a check told the same in January I was told that the office that does the refund was back up and if I didnt owe them any money I would receiving a check or if I owe them money it would be applied to what I owe and I would receive some kind of notice if the money was applied to a outstanding account .It now the end of Feb.I have not heard from them so I guess when you overpaid you do not get a refund.I been to many drs in Dothan and never had this happen.

Poor poor service cant even have family members sit down anymore in the waiting room. Never EVER get Wyndi Strength shes rude, she drove me mad. She does not help at all. She does not listen, I couldnt even tell her all my symptoms because she kept interrupting me. Acts like a young high school drama queen.Very unprofessional it is a shame she looks like a good person. I had to wait almost 1 hour to see her and 2 hours or more to get out of the place. The other doctors are great, very nice and listen to what you say.

Been seeing a couple of Drs here for almost 20yrs. Never had an issue until recently. Had some labs done, apparently I was sick, no one bothered to call and tell me, just called in the scrip. Way to go!

Pardon any errors or poor grammar I am speaking this into my cell phone. Went to First Med yesterday because I was suffering from sinus infection for over a month. I was being treated by a different Medical Practice who will remain nameless and I had actually seen them three times trying to get some real help and they just kept telling me its allergies and wouldnt take it more serious so I finally went to first Med. I told the doctor my symptoms, swollen painful glands, pain kept moving from left to right sometimes in the middle and it really hurt when I swallowed, congestion in my chest (that ugly colored stuff) coughing so hard my ribs felt theyre going to crack congestion in my nose headache eyes ache Etc and NP Baldwin examined me and treated me as I expected to be treated in a doctors office and gave me the necessary medicines to finally get rid of this bad sinus infection / cold. He was extremely nice, very professional and knowledgeable, helpful and he actually took time to listen to me and explain things which was so wonderful thats very rare for a doctor these days. And oh my gosh one of the ladies I saw was Karen she was a stitch, had a great sense of humor. I highly recommend 1st med. theyre in the middle of renovating so just be patient as Im sure it will look very beautiful very soon. the floor is beautiful and the wallpaper too in the back. Everyone was super nice and friendly. Oh and I was a walk-in I got there about 645. There had already been a couple other people and I think I was seen pretty quickly, about 30 minutes, considering evidently they do appointments also. I saw some reviews that the wait was really long but mine was not that long at all and there were actually probably seven different patients in the waiting room at different times but they got called back pretty quickly and so did I as a walk-in. Thank you again so much First Med for being there for me! Im already noticing a difference in the right direction. PS ladies do your hair I felt so bad I went in looking like I dont know what but it doesnt hurt that this doctor is easy on the eyes so you might want to take an extra minute LOL. No disrespect mrs. Baldwin good for you both! Its just nice to meet a really nice person who is nice looking and a doctor. Pretty rare. Maybe thats just part of this wonderful Southern Hospitality in Dothan. We had moved here from up North about a year ago... and we love it!

I have been going to First Med since around 2006. I had been treated by a few Drs, but I really enjoyed Dr Paulk. I will miss him. But I have to make a new choice for a Dr in Oct. Thank You, Mrs Mccoy

Couldnt get a prescription right for 6weeks so I finally make an appointment to go physically get it done correctly & wait over an hour?! Whats the point of having an appointment...no use here. Dr is fine but service is extremely slow & if a drs office cant get a Rx right can they do anything right besides take your money?!

I go to First Med every year for a physical. This is paid 100% by my company as long as the doctors code it preventive. Every year I get billed and have to call First Med many times to get it straightened out. Also when I have blood work done, I have to call and call to get the results. My wife recently had blood work done as well and 4 weeks later, we are still trying to get someone to call her back with the results.I kept calling the number on the bill to get my bill corrected and have left messages. I have called First Med and left messages there as well for the billing dept. Still no call backs. Today I stopped in at First Med and told the girl up front that I wanted to speak with someone about my bill. She gave me another number for me to call. I like Dr. Obrien but its not worth the hassle anymore to go see him. I had an appointment with Dr. Obrien for next week but I cancelled because I have a dislike for First Med so much. My mother and mother in law goes to Dr. Obrien also which they love but they also hate the crappy service you have to go through to see him. Time to find another medical provider.

Worst place to go i went for blood work and the office lef a message for me to call for results i called at 1 and left a message never heard from them called again the next day and got the office lady to transfer me to the nurse she never picked up. ve called 6 times and left 4 messages and got hung up on twice its been almost a week and still no call back extremely poor service the nurses are rude and the doctors just stand around and talk and make u wait!!!! not going back

Went in with severe knee bruising and dislocated patella. Doctor said I was fine. Recommended Tylenol and taking it easy. Horrible. He thought I was trying to get pain meds or something. No personality, pure doc in the box mentality.

I had an appt scheduled with Dr. OBrien and when I arrived I was told I Did Not have an appt. And would have to see Jennifer Stewart A Nurse Practioner. She told me my left lung was crackling, possibly pneumonia!! She told me the meds I needed, we went over my existing meds that I needed refilled and said to go to the pharmacy and get them. Its been 30hrs., 5 phone calls, 4 msgs. And my prescriptions are still INCORRECT!!! Half of my meds have yet to be phoned in and my pneumonia meds havent been prescribed neither!!! I Will Be Visiting Them In Person....might need a Bondsman!!!

I have a lot of strange health issues. The worst is fluriquinloin poisoning. Dr. Crocket has experienced it!!!! He didnt dismiss me as a crazy person. He really understands the nightmare I live in. I highly recommend this caring man. And Jennifer Stewart, the np. She is awesome. And Jofie..spelling may be wrong. Who listens to me cry. Or call forgetting things. These three keep me hoping and praying I may get better. I leave not crying but thankful to God I found them. With my problem, you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find the prince or princess. I believe I found them with these wonderful people.

Went in at 10 am to be seen, was told they were behind on patients, come back at 1:15 pm. I arrived at 1, at 3:47 I was finally brought to a room only to be treated like a second rate citizen from their very own nurse practioner. I literally have never been treated so poorly by a healthcare provider in all my life. If you choose this place, ONLY see Dr. Cook or DR. Paulk, these young practicing doctors have no bed side manner, no concern for you as a individual patient, disgruntled because he had to work by himself, and trust me, will literally laugh in your face if you try to guide him on what works best with your own body. Again, I was humiliated, and belittled by this man. Will have to change care providers now for fear of having to see this practicing doc again.....Ive been going for yrs, one man can ruin your establisment!!!! Hope you other providers head my words. It was so bad, I felt I had to re-humiliate myself to the board director, Mr. Ken....who of course, his job is to protect his people. As a head manager of three establisments myself, I respect that. However, NEVER at the patients cost....I warn other patients, please proceed with caution!!

Go in sick to be tested for flu and try dont even have any flu test. OBrien days he was treating me with the flu because I had classic symptoms of it. Went to another to get swabbed to be sure because I have a young child and needed to know for sure. Unprofessional. What medical practice doesnt have flu test?!

Was refused REGISTRATION, because I did not have a hardcopy of my BCBS card. Had a picture on my phone, was unacceptable because clerk could not run my phone through her scanner. My son was having an allergic reaction, skin. On Sunday: Other offices closed or no doctor was in. Ended up going to the Emergency Room $300 copay instead of 40 at office.

Dont recommend this place, it died a long time ago.

Went on a Saturday in extreme pain for a second opinion. Was told upon arrival it would be a 3.5 hour wait and that there was someone who had been there since 8:30 that still had not been seen. It was 11:45. I know its not the receptionists fault, but on a Saturday when you have that much of a back up with one physician on duty, lets use common sense and call in another physician. Left and went to Urgent Care and was seen within 45 min.

Always receive the care, attenion, and prescirptions I need for common sinus infections. Waiting to be worked in is expected when I have no appointment. Will continue to patronize.

I have used 1st Med over 35 years always have a reasonable short whate and have felt very well taken care of .Dr Founton has been friendly and informative. The care is tops to me he lissions to my questions and answeres so I understand . All the others there are careing and help full, Lab is very good too. Its good too good to know that you can counted on them when it is needed. I remind my self I dont go here for a soial call ,Its a need.I highly recoment Dr Founton ,& 1st Med.

Worst medical experience Ive ever had. I wasnt asked about family medical history or any basic information thats normally asked when you have a doctors appointment. I was told to go buy my medication otc even though its available in a prescription.

Worst place to go. They take forever to call you back, forever to look at you, forever to run test. if you are going for a teen or child, go to dothan pediatrics or all south urgent care.
