I had an absolutely amazing experience at this hospital. I have spent many years of my life in and out of hospitals. When I first got to my room I was greeted by a very genuine nurse, Ms.Payton, she made my day and treated me like any mother would treat their own son. During the night I received another absolutely amazing nurse, Ms. Roxanne. Again she made sure I was taken care of like I was her own. When I was told I was being moved the next morning, Ms. Roxanne made me know that she was going to miss me. When I got to my new room I was greeted by a third truly amazing human being, Ms. Lori. She again took the best care of me and helped me as much as she could.Nobody has fun at the hospital, but I can promise you that they made sure I was as comfortable as I am at my own home.

This is Jason Parker posting for my wife Laura Parker who was there from 9/5 to 9/25 I first want to apologize for not remembering every ones name who cared for Laur. I sincerely want to thank the nurses, techs and all others who watched over her and gave her the best care that they could give. There are so many that returned my phone calls for updates, let me visit when I could and prayed and watched over her as they could during their chaotic shifts . Almost 100% of the information I received was from those nurses who I truly want every one to appreciate who has anyone being cared for by them. I can’t say enough about the ladies who took it above and beyond, cared for my wife, consoled her, prayed with her and was there with me when she passed. I am truly humbled and sincerely grateful to you all for everything you did and I know she was as well! She was a fighter and you all are as well between the long shifts, giving updates to families and all else you do know you are appreciated and it is appreciated for all that what you give. Met and talked to some wonderful people and truly believe what you give you receive , thank you again.

The nurses and staff were very kind and I received immediate attention. As for the doctor I briefly saw, he immediately assumed I had a condition I do not have due to medication I take, when I informed him if my condition, my team of doctors, all he heard was I am a smoker, yes I know it’s bad for me and have cut back significantly, and his “diagnosis” was smoking related when in fact after seeing my doctor an inflammation of the lining of ribs and breast bone. I was also given unnecessary antibiotics by iv, which was removed before it finished thankfully. They did do testing to make sure it wasn’t my heart and I am thankful for that. I feel in this world of technology if the Er doc is unfamiliar with certain not so common conditions they should take the extra few minutes to research it online or reach out to specialist on call. This hospital has done wonderful for a lot of my family and friends but when it comes to not so common conditions I recommend a larger hospital with more resources.

I delivered my son at Horizon a week ago yesterday and had the absolute best experience we couldve hoped for. As first time parents, my husband and I didnt know what to expect. Our labor and delivery nurses were just angels and took great care of all 3 of us our entire stay. Shout out to Lori and Tessa, they were with me the most. : )They have such tough jobs and do it with such grace. We were overall very impressed with the care we received. Also, 10/10 recommend Dr. Amanda Haneline. She is wonderful!

Dr Vanleer and Chelsea treated our son and these two reminded me that there are still wonderful caregivers out there. Not only were they amazing and thorough, but these two were kind to my family. Dr Vanleer went out of her way to explain the findings and our nurse Chelsea frequently visited to make sure our son was okay and to ask if we needed anything. She even brought me in a cup of coffee. Exceptional caregivers and good hearted people.

I feel very comfortable doing my mammograms at this facility! Ive been completely aghast at having it done over the years! The past two,done at Tristar,has been pleasant. No anxiety! The staff was amazing. I gave a 4 out of 5 because the day I went it was raining and the parts of the parking lot near the entrance that are painted yellow are very slippery and I almost fell twice. As I was waiting to be seen another patient was sharing that she had the same issue. If they put some grit in the paint it would not be a fall hazard.

My appointment was made by my physician. There was a problem with the machine, so I received a call from Horizon to inform me of the problem and reschedule my appointment just two days later than the original. On my appointment day I arrived on time. Check in was easy on the iPad and I was called back within a few minutes. The technician was easy to work with and got the shots made with little to no pain. The whole appointment was done in twenty minutes or less. I felt like a person, not a number. Everything was wiped down and very sanitary, from the door I walked in through to the front desk and the machine used for the mammogram.

Went for mammogram and bone density test. They had called me to pre register. When I went for test everything was ready. Person at entry desk helped me with the computer questions etc. She was courteous and knowledgeable. Wait time was only about 5 minutes. Persons doing tests also very nice and courteous and knew their job well. They explained to me the what, how, and length tests would take. Did not monitor total time in and out of facility but it was a vwry short time. I was very pleased.

Honestly, I had the best birthing experience here at Tristar. Dr. Amanda Haneline is my OBGYN and dear friend and her office is located in the west wing of the hospital. The nurses here were so kind and patient with me, this was the first time I had been away from my oldest and they all kept me calm and made me feel like I wasn’t alone in how I was feeling. Debbie was my nurse throughout my stay, she is such a kind soul and was so helpful. She was constantly checking on me making sure I stayed comfortable during labor. I also had Mallory as my night nurse, she was an absolute gem and so easy to talk to. It felt like she was a friend more so than my nurse. I adore this team that took care of my little family and our new arrival and if we have a 3rd baby, this will for sure be where I deliver. Highly highly recommend. ❤️

Excellent! We walked in and walked straight back to the room. Nurses came in and started taking info and getting Iv going. Doctor came in quickly, ordered tests, prescribed meds and we were in and out in an hour! EVERYONE was smiling, friendly and pleasant to be around. They truly cared. Thankfully we have never needed their services before but I highly recommend and would definitely go back if needed.

I was admitted to TriStar Horizon Medical Center for a full knee replacement and the entire procedure was flawless. I did get a brand new knee but in the process I received so much more. My stay at Horizon was an experience I wont soon forget. Every person that had any part at all in my stay left a lasting positive impression. Needless to say, I am happy with my new knee, but the highlight of this chapter in my book was the sincere compassion given to me by every single member of the Horizon team. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to experience people at their best.

After way too many second chances we have had nothing but absolutely horrible experiences at this hospital (both the ER and labor delivery).We’ve had two incidences within the last month where two family members have needed immediate care and were either misdiagnosed or proper care was not received.I have left messages with the supposed patient care advocate (who I’ve contacted regarding previous issues in which absolutely nothing was done). We’ve given them multiple tries because they’re close and convenient but their lack of competency is completely unacceptable definitely worth driving to Nashville for better care.

I was treated very well, staff was concerned and helpful.I give 4 stars, wanted to give 5 stars but because I feel the wait was unbearably long, I really didnt have any test to wait for, didnt know why the blood work taken would have any reason to sit for a couple hours or more.Maybe they were waiting for my ride to come but my ride was here within an hour, so, working on the time line to shorten it up would improve patients satisfaction.

At the ER, they got me in pretty quickly & did tests as well. Then, I had to wait 3 hours for the radiologist to read the CT scan!! Not cool! But, my nurse, Robin, was nice & efficient.

My dad received excellent care during his hospital stay last week. From the ER staff to the hospital staff. We were hesitant to go to Dickson but due to a medical emergency we had to get him to the nearest hospital. He received care better than he has in the bigger Nashville hospitals. After trying to have a homebirth with my second child for 2 days, we ended up going to the TriStar Horizon Medical Center. God must have known we needed everyone there when we showed up! The nurses are absolutely second to none! The love, care and support my husband and I received during that unplanned visit led us to purposefully choose them again for the birth of our 3rd child.Once again they did not disappoint. It was my goal to have an unmediated birth and it would not have happened without all of them helping me and Dr. Steidl allowing me to labor patiently.Once my son was born another amazing set of nurses showed up and cared for him. He needed a little extra care the first few hours and his nurse never left his side. She stayed in our room with him while helping him and it just brought such a sense of peace having her there.Each nurse here goes above and beyond their job in helping those in their watchcare. Anyone of the doctors are amazing and second to none. Even the dietary services all the way to the cleaning crew, each are soo friendly and kind and work very hard to ensure your visit is a plesant one.I cannot thank this hospital and everyone on the team enough for the peace of mind knowing myself and my family has the best care possible. Was surprised after falling backwards off a ladder that I was not thoroughly checked out. X-rays were only taken on one side of my chest. Broken rib and scapula were treated on one side but pain was still on opposite side. I had to go to another medical facility to find out I also had a broken on the other side. I will not be treated by this hospital again,

This was my fourth delivery and although the delivery itself was very long due to my own body, the nurses and doctors were the best and gave me the most wonderful experience ever! Useless visit. I had a knee swelled to the size of a cantaloupe. They took 2 X-rays said I was fine and sent me home. I needed an MRI. I have excellent insurance. They would not even try to get me one. I haves torn meniscus. Won’t ever go back there.

Night shift is great and was on top of everything. Day shift however was a different story. I had to stay for 3 days and 2 nights. I had surgery so pain meds were pretty much the only thing I had to ask for especially since they told me to ask as soon as they started to stop working. The day after my surgery I asked for my pain meds 4 times over 6 hours without receiving then even though I could have them every 4 hours. I was told every time they would get them. I didn’t not receive them until night shift came in and they did their first rounds checking vitals.

Had an MRI on May 4, 2021. I was very anxious about it. The staff of TriStar, from registration to the MRI technician, was so courteous and professional that it really eased my anxiety. The person who actually did the MRI was extremely kind to me and really went above and beyond. I wish I could remember his name to send him a thank you note! All in all a very good experience. We arrived at close to noon. Since my husband was having problems with a drainage bag connected to his gallbladder and he was getting in pain and couldnt flush it, we felt like we needed to get it checked out. Everyone at Tristar was very nice. My husband was taken to have a catscan done. Later, a doctor came and told my husband what was wrong (a stone blocking the valve) and suggested the drainage tube be removed and his gallbladder. We agreed. Four hours passed...then, to our shock, a nurse (or worker) came and told my husband he was discharged! We were not expecting that at all! If that was going to be all that happened, we could have been told a lot earlier! In all we spent about 6 hours for not much. There was no solution except a phone number for a surgeon. It was too late to call the surgeon that day. When we called him the extra day, we were told he had no openings for about a month!

My nurse was amazing, doctor didnt seemed robotic. I was tested for Covid and put into quarantine until my results returned. Day 6 without results I was informed my test had been deemed lost I was told I could return to work the next day. Now my company wont pay me for my time in quarantine because of the hospitals error in loosing my test results. There goes an $800 paycheck.

Just came in for CAC scan. This is a fairly quick test and cheap, so cheap its all out of pocket ($69). The process was easy. Did have to fill out the usual documentation but all went well, was in and out in a little less than an hour.

I went to the ER with a huge staph infection on my neck. The doctor looked at it and ordered a CT scan with contrast. He came back and said there was nothing he could do, he couldnt lance it or anything because it was cellulitis and all I needed was antibiotics and sent me home! Well, I came back home with a neck that was swelled up awful and hurting something fierce. The next day my husband lanced it for me, and you wouldnt believe what came out of it. It was a terrible mess, and though it is much better now, it is still leaking. My daughter in law, who happens to be a nurse, came over and liked to have had a fit. She was totally upset because of the way it looked and what was coming out. That doctor was totally wrong, and I sure dont appreciate it at all. Now I will have a bill to pay for no service at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clean pleasant atmosphere, personnel were polite and kept me informed. Emergency room had a patient that required several of the staff to be called over there and therefore my appointment was delayed over an hour and a half. Staff was apologetic but it wasnt anything they could control. My suggestion is have more staffing to cover appointments if this is the norm. Patients time is valuable as well. I understood the situation but I lost time and didnt make it to my next appointment and had to reschedule. Not complaining just making it known that is was inconvienent Thanks

I went to Horizon to have bloodwork done. The admission process was great. Alin ?? did my admission and was very thorough, explaining everything with care. She walked me to the lab and rang the bell. The tech came to the door and said he had a patient and I would need to wait. Alin asked would I rather go the the waiting room rather than stand in the hall. Since Im not familiar with Horizon, I thought the waiting room was the first area I was in when I was registered. I knew it was too far for me to walk, (I have heart failure and get short of breath easily), so I declined. She even offered to get me a wheelchair, but, thinking they only had one patient, it would not be a long wait. I thanked her and she left. I stood outside the door in the hall and had been waiting for 15 minutes when the other patient came out. About 5 minutes later, another person (she seemed to be a hospital employee) came to stand in line. I explained the situation and we continued to wait. After another 12 minutes, the other patient said lets just jog their memory and rang the bell again. After a minute or so the male technician came to the door and I went in. He sat me in the chair without a word and left the room. After about a minute, a nice female technician (Im sorry, but Ive forgotten her name) came in and within a couple of minutes I was finished. I am not unfamiliar with hospitals and certainly understand when areas are busy, but after the efficient admitting process, I was just disappointed at the lack of concern from the lab.

Dr Hawkins & Brenda have been my OBGYN Team for the past 24 years. I have always been the “insecure” type when it comes to my body and I never felt uncomfortable with Dr Hawkins or his nurse Brenda. They get right to the point, are very thorough, and Dr Hawkins pretty much saved my life once back in 2006 from one of my births. (He delivered all 3 of my children) He was very thorough with my partner recently with a procedure I had done. I’d you are looking for a OBGYN Dr Hawkins would be the one I’d recommend. They are a great team, & recently during my surgery the anesthesiologist was also very good with me. I’m not sure about the rest of the hospital but I know the OBGYN team is the BEST! I would never go anywhere else! The hospitality that hospital gave me during my outpatient surgery was outstanding!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

Nurses were extremely caring & compassionate. Tests were ordered and executed pretty promptly. ER doc seemed *ever* so slightly less compassionate, but was professional and competent. I had to request pain meds multiple times before I received adequate relief, which was unfortunate, as my records could show this was my first ER visit, I was not a pill-hopper out to get a fix. I sent my kids home after the ER doc advised I was going to need surgery to remove the kidney stone the CT scan had revealed; turns out, tho, that wasnt his call, but rather that of the urologist on call, who once he called in, said I could be released with 2 meds to pass it at home. This required my son to turn around 45 minutes later and make the 20 mile drive back out since I was going to be released. They started discharge papers; it was me who advised that my preferred pharmacy was closed for the July 4th holiday - and the nurse responded that ALL pharmacies would be closed. Advised them then NOT to discharge me if I was going to be unable to obtain pain meds (for more than 30 hours), and at that point they did, and I quote here, extensive research to finally confirm there would be a pharmacy available on July 4th to fill the meds - so the discharge could then proceed.Overall, it was actually a pretty positive experience. The compassion and soft-spoken nature of the nurses helped calm me, despite the intense pain that drove me there to begin with. Wait times (other than for the initial dose of morphine relief) were very reasonable, and the discharge and follow up instructions provided were comprehensive and easy to understand.

I was there for four hours and was in the hallway the entire time. The nurse checked in on me every 45 minutes to an hour. I got dehydrated and with a head wound seemed somewhat dangerous. The two doctors I spoke with seems very good but only saw each one time.

Went to the HMC ER, on a Sunday evening, due to a fall down my stairs. From the moment I got there until I left, I had above and beyond care. Tiffany Dotson, PA was very sweet & thorough. Hayley (spelling) my nurse was very sweet & considerate. Angelica Smith, my X-ray tech, was sweet & funny. I couldn’t have asked for better care!

I have previously had great experiences at this ER and have highly recommended it, however, a very unfriendly, unprofessional nurse named “Chad” ruined it. Like so many other folks I’ll be skipping Dickson and headed to Nashville for my future medical needs. :(

The demographic login process with the ipad was a hurdle. When you clicked a section to fill in, the keyboard app popped up overlay the section you were trying to fill in. There was no way to correct this, so you just had to remember what you were supposed to be filling in, and hoped you got it correct when the keyboard app blocked what you were supposed to be seeing. It took a few tries to do this. Bad programming and unnecessary if some programmer or some IT administrator responsible for deploying the product just took the time to test their own product in action. This has nothing to do with Horizon, but is an HCA/Tristar IT product that needed review before deployment. Bad initial customer experience, and the fact that it is a completely unnecessary hurdle, driven by an IT inattention to detail, colors downstream experience.However, everything else, including the Horizon staff, were top notch and extremely helpful, especially in overcoming IT hurdles that were not their fault. The registrar went above and beyond the line of duty in verifying insurance information. Even given the obstructionist IT hurdle at the beginning of the process, everyone involved in every other part of the program overcame that and made it a 5 star experience.

Had heard negative reports about Horizon but my stay changed my mind. I was sent to the E.R. with high level of potassium. Started meds immediately and the level stared to drop. Admitted to hospital and by the next afternoon I was sent home.I observed that throughout my stay and all the Dr. and staff that saw me were all informed of my condition and all worked together to help me. All departments worked together and made my stay short . That was what I was impressed with.My thanks to all that worked for me.

Came into the ER with nause/vomiting and confusion. I ahave stage 5 renal failure The actual care I received in the ER was great. Staff was kind and efficient and I felt like I wa taken care of in a timely manner. I was not plesed they sent me home and didnt admit me to the hosptia. I have never been so sick as I have been the last several weeks. My labs indicated I was in severe renal failure. They sent me home and I have suffered an extra two weeks when everything could have been taken care of when I was at the hosptial if they would have admitted me. But they didnt. I am very upset with that outcome. I felt like I was being ignored and ot taken seriously about ho louy I was feeling.

This building earned a bad reputation many years ago while under different ownership. If you havent given it a chance since then, you should.Our recent experience was incredible here. My wife had a gall bladder attack and needed to have it removed. She also required special care because she has previously had bariatric surgery, so there were certain considerations in her gall bladder removal that arent typical.Let me say, this was the most impressive and efficient healthcare facility Ive seen.Everyone from the ER staff right down to the surgeon who performed her procedure was absolutely A+. I have never had a better healthcare experience in my 40+ years, and it is great to know we have that sort of care right in Dickson.Cant stress this enough: If you still think of this as Goodlark, you should consider giving them another chance.
