I’ve been to this place twice now. Whenever I call I can never get anyone on the phone. Been waiting months for a referral for my wisdom teeth to be removed and haven’t received a call back. I now need a root canal which I can’t afford there, and can’t seem to get a referral for that either. Literally called 15 times today. I also keep seeing everyone else talk about how they suggest a “deep clean”, they suggested that to me on my first visit as well. It’s $800 and not covered by insurance. If they tell you you need a deep clean, they can’t give you a regular cleaning because then your insurance won’t cover it. This place is a scam. If you are poor and need help, don’t go here.

The receptionist its amazing I was late for my appointment and calling to reschedule and she was able to get me in a half hour later. The dentist (I forget his name) is absolutely great!! I havent had a dental where I felt so comfortable. He makes sure you are numb and explains stuff as he is going. I recommend this place to anyone who mentions they need dental work done.

First of all everyone was very nice. Place is clean. I personally feel this was a waste of time and money and gas for me. I took the whole day off from work. I said my whole mouth was hurting cuz of teeth shifting they recommended a deep cleaning and braces even though I’m wearing a partial and need two root canals. I asked about dentures he said the percentage was not good and still recommended braces even though I’m over 50. I thought it was a joke about the braces. I did my research I should of went with my gut feeling. Do not go to this place if your in my situation!!!

I definitely had a pleasant experience here at Affordable Dental CareDr Johnson was very clear and precise about what was neededNadia helped me through the administration process which was very smooth and reasonable.And Luis as a DA was very enjoyable. We talked about our favorite shows and laughed as well as got the scans done in a timely fashion.I definitely recommend them, they accept all insurances!

Bad experience 1st and 2nd visit. Hygienists was rude and pressured me to get a deep cleaning. They refused to do a routine cleaning because they claim they can loose their license if they clean my teeth without doing a deep cleaning. I felt very mistreated and it seems like they just want money.

Dont go!!! Ive been going here only because they take my insurance but you get 50/50 treatment. It took about 10 visits before they got my crown right!! Ive had to wait 30-40 mins to be seen. They rescheduled my appointment because the dentist was out and then I was 15 mins late and they wouldnt see me. Then when I left, I see the dentist outside in the back of the building on his cellphone. Is that what hes so busy doing? Are you kidding me. I hope he washes his nasty hands when he goes back in. Ridiculous. Ive already paid half to get this tooth repaired but once its done they wont see me anymore.

My experience was very pleasant, I got a chance to witness high-tech, state of the art ex-ray machines and equipment that made my visit quick, pleasant, and professional...also the Staff was concerned, they made me feel Welcomed and right at home...Affordable Dental a place we can afford and a place to feel at home, dont forget your insurance info.lol and please bring a Mask to keep us all safe...One Love

I was a first time customer and I have to say I loved the staff, Nadia, and Dr. Johson were very helpful making things affordable enough for me to actually get the help my mouth needed! Also the place was clean, and the staff worked well together.

My experience was pleasant and easy, I’m grateful in how friendly, patient, and easy going they are. This made me feel a lot less nervous and trusting that they would do a good job and they definitely did and then some. I’m super happy with the results of my treatment and the staff are awesome I’m terrible with name I do apologize but my whole team was excellent! Looking forward too my next cleaning.

The service I get in Detroit was better than this. I was asked to sign an estimate of what work I needed it done, as if they were trying to bill my insurance company before I even had the procedure done ,it didnt sit well with me.

Never expected the bait and switch from a dentist. Staff was kind, but dentist gave me referral for the dental work I came in for, but then cut on the full salesmanship press to pressure me into a “deep cleaning” that would not be covered by my insurance. (u0026 would cost me $800 out of pocket) Insanity! The referral was to a surgeon that doesn’t answer the phone, and you can’t even leave a message. If you need real dental work done, go somewhere else. I wish I could leave a review for the work done, but they didn’t do any. Still in pain and now adding frustrated to the list 😢

Worst dentist I have ever been to!! Left bone spurs in my mouth!! Ive had a lot of dental work including having my jaws wired shut! I couldnt open my mouth for 3 weeks!!. As for the sign on the wall free gas well it doesnt apply to medicaid apparently that doesnt apply to medicaid because he stopped and asked me for $100.00 I couldnt believe it!! Although I have horrible pain lol he gave motrin!!! they didnt give me enough novicain I felt the whole thing..he should have used Marcain its stronger then novicain and lasts a lot longer!! I went in there to get dentures. The did not make impressions and. I will never ever step foot in this place agai!!!if I could give a negative 5 I would!!

AWFUL!!! No dentist EVER has told me it would take 5 appointments to get a denture. The office staff was great and friendly, but that doctor was rude, made me feel inferior because I couldnt afford all the stuff he said I needed to be doing this whole time to save my teeth. My last dentist got everything taken care of (extractions AND the denture) all in 2 visits. Way to make everything more difficult that it needs to be. I will NEVER be going back there, and you should also avoid it and find a kinder dentist. One who isnt so judgmental.Edited to add: I will not give your office another chance. Why would I go back somewhere that treated me so poorly? I have already found a much more understanding dentist who is not rude to me.

Good experience here takes all insurance and fast and efficient. Very clean and kind. Brought all my friends and family here now.

Dr. Johnson and his assistant, Charnita were absolutely the BEST. I was nervous about having a cracked tooth requiring a crown but Dr Johnson was gentle and so professional. Highly recommend this office to anyone. Paige at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Great office atmosphere.

Over $2,200 for a root canal and crown put in that only lasted a year and a half. The first crown they sent took almost 2 months instead of 2 weeks and it was the wrong size. After waiting another month to have the correct size crown sent-it fell out just a year later. The dentist wanted $199 to cement it back in.DO NOT GO HERE.

Edit: below is my original review. I went for a cleaning recently and there is finally a new dentist! Only saw him once but he was very professional. I have a feeling I was not the only one complaining about the previous awful one.There is only ONE dentist in this office and he is Awful. Demeanor..treatment plan..just the worst I have Ever encountered. Their advertised hours are far from what they actually offer.The office staff and hygienists have been very very nice so I cant bash the place, I love them, and can usually work with the schedule. But that grumpy, mean, inexperienced and deplorable dentist will never touch my teeth again. I have a ton of details that Ill stifle...but if you need a cleaning and have relatively healthy teeth their staff and hygienists are great. If you have any actual dental work at all to be done there is a place not far on Coolidge that takes medicaid.I never take the time to review anything really but this particular dentist absolutely deserves a public review of how horrible he is.

I choose this Dentist office because of the Name and because they accepted my insurance. But after my xrays and consultation I HAD TO GET A DEEP CLEANING MY INSURANCE DIDNT PAY, $800 out of pocket, I have Medicaid it didnt pay for nothing, Medicaid pay once or sometimes twice a year for cleaning so why not accommodate Medicaid patients accordingly. . So now Im on the search for another Dentist because I couldnt afford them. I left feeling belittled and sad. , Also the Orthodontist was upstairs which was convenient this was my reason for choosing Affordable dentist they had the whole package but NOT AFFORDABLE FOR ME😏...

I hate going to the Dentist but this staff was so nice,caring,warming and very friendly from the time I walked in till the time I walked out! They were so helpful and got right down to business resolving the reason for my visit,I will definitely be going back,I was so pleased when I left,they fixed my two front teeth and i will be returning to get my other ones together that needs to be repaired,thank you all so much for a great visit! The only reason I’m even leaving a 3 star review is because the front office staff is always kind to me, talks to me about my cosmetology buisness, and are just awesome overall… However - I started seeing this dental practice January of 2020 and every single visit I’ve had with this doctor has been so bitter, quick, un-compassionate, seemingly “Inconvenient” and overall just poor. He takes on so many patients that he does not have the time to keep up, wait times are insane for scheduled appointments, but like today - if you’re 8 mins late - “ sorry, you can’t be seen because you’re in our grace period “ after just being told I was going to be seen… So now I’m taking ANOTHER Uber back home, and never returning again. Hopfully another dental practice will have more compassion than this buisness has ever shown me!

They never answer the phone even after you have called multiple times. Their scheduling system is terrible, I had to constantly reschedule.

Highly recommend! My teeth had really gone down hill and I was terrified, embarrassed, and in such pain. They were so down to earth and kind. The whole office staff had me laughing and relaxed. Paige has been so kind and willing to help work through everything. They have been great for getting into be seen quickly. Dr. Barbu, Ammar and Cher were very professional but very understanding. Ammars temporary crowns he carved out were so realistic that no one could tell they were fake and the finished results are outstanding and it still doesnt seem real because they turned out soo good! And I think everyone there was just as excited for me and their finished results. Im so happy I ended up in their office and you will be too!

My wife has been trying to contact them for months. They gave her a referral but didnt bother to send her records and shes been in pain this whole time waiting on surgical extraction because they are too lazy to answer the phone

I HATE CALLING THEM, they never answer the phone or return phone calls, i’ve been calling for a week and no one’s returned my call. they also slipped up one time and mistakenly answered the phone and just set it down and i heard the office staff talking for about 30 minutes, no one formally answered.

I actually been a patient at Affordable Dental for almost 5 years. I never had any problems everyone was always nice and pleasant. But starting in January I call to see when my next appointment was for my cleaning. They switched over to a call center that handles the appointment. I call 7 to 10 times to try to get my appointment time and date. Every time I was given the same answer we will take your phone number down and have someone at the office give you a call back. I never received a callback. I called back again and someone scheduled me an appointment for today. On Saturday someone from the office called to confirm my appointment . I wait in the lobby for over 20 minutes which was not a big problem. After I sit in the seat to get my teeth clean someone comes back to tell me that my appointment is not until March and I will have to pay my insurance wouldn’t cover it. The call center is very unprofessional and should know if you already have an appointment scheduled. They need to improve their customer service at the call center and the office. I will not go back there ever again.

Location is good. No long wait. Doctor and staff were very friendly. Nadia was very polite, friendly and gave me lot of information.

Absolutely incredible! Lots of offices can pull teeth and do cleanings. But not all are able to offer their patients an extraordinary experience.Rene and the ladies at the front office were exceptional and great with welcoming me as well as I left answering all my questions.Angela was so great prepping me for the extraction and answering my 9 million questions! LolI can’t remember the doctors name but I didn’t feel a thing and he was great with keeping my mind off the tooth pulling!I’m very happy to be a patient and find a dentistry I can call home. I love this office. Everyone is so pleasant. The office is clean and very well organized. When I called no one answered so I had to leave a message AND THEY CALLED BACK. They accept all insurance and they have late hours for working families. My first appointment (prior to COVID19) I had to bring my children and everyone there didn’t make it a big deal. I appreciated the energy from the front desk staff. I enjoyed the music while I waited(which wasn’t long at all). The hygienist was upbeat and had a great sense humor and the dentist was pleasant and personable. I have and will continue to recommend to my family and friends

This was the best experience Ive had in years!!! The whole team was super kind and understanding, which was really a relief!!! I havent always been the best at caring for my teeth, but they were really nice about it and were very encouraging and warm. Brittany noticed I was nervous and helped me feel at ease, and Dulce was super good at reading my body language. For example, I was clenching my hands in preparation for the pain, and she noticed right away and helped me relax. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!

Truly enjoyed my first time at this dental office! Both my hygienist Dulce and her assistant Jessica were great! Dulce was quick and efficient with my cleaning and it wasn’t painful at all! Jessica did my X-rays and everything else! They had great conversation and were nice! Jessica helped me schedule my next appointment and I look forward to it!

Alot of scheduling issues! Original time was 5:00pm then rescheduled to 3:30pm then the day of moved it to 3:00pm less then a few hours before. I recommend another dentist not organized. The staff seem nice.

Everyone in the office was really nice, especially Neta. She was the one that cleaned my teeth. She did a really good job! She took her time, and made sure that all my teeth were properly cleaned. Some people rush to get through each patient, but Neta was very thorough! I’ll definitely be going back!

Being an office that takes my insurnance which is hard to find this office is the top of the list. When I made the apointment Irene answered all my questions and did not make me feel bad for having insurance through the state. Then when I came to my apointment Renee Lord she is Child of Christ. she has a heart of gold. I never met a woman who had so much compassion. This office goes above and beyond. May be the people who had experience before should try again becaise these ladies are perfect. Thank you for treating me like I am someone.

Update: Dr. Clara and her assistant, Aiysha, who installed my 3 fillings, did a great job. Got 3 shots to numb the area beforehand and I barely felt the injections. My unease prior to my appointment was overblown and largely unfounded. Both were warm, informative and very easy on my teeth. I feel a bit silly for worrying otherwise.You cannot go wrong by having your teeth serviced at this dentist office. I’ve been here 5-6 times before and have never had a bad experience. The people seem to enjoy their work and want to be there, despite being required to work on a Sunday, which can’t be easy.My 3:30 PM Dental Appointment:I must admit that I’m a little nervous about going into the dentist office today. Which is usually not the case, because I always look forward to seeing my favorite dental hygienist, Mrs. Faye. She has a way of making all of my appointments fun, carefree and uneventful. Plus, I love listening to her stories as she’s cleaning my teeth. She has a way of looking at the world that I admire and want to emulate. I believe she was sent by the Universe to care for my teeth and teach me a thing or two about life. Whenever I am around her, usually thrice annually, for pre-scheduled dental cleanings, I feel like a student, so I watch and listen to her intently.On this visit, I am having fillings inserted into 3 of my teeth. So, chances are, someone other than Mrs. Faye will be performing the work.Will this person be cold, harsh and clinical?These are the reasons for my uneasiness and the strong urge to cancel my appointment. I’m certain this is all in my head, and whoever the dentist is scheduled to work on my teeth today, will be and do just fine.Still, the question lingers...Affordable Dental Care is open 7 days a week.

Dr. Barbu is amazing and so kind! And his assistants are also amazing! Cher is such a total sweetheart ♥️ had my tooth extracted, and they were patient with me and the pain I was experiencing! Got me on stronger antibiotics, and a week later he was able to get the painful tooth out with no complications 😁

Great Clinic with great service and affordable prices. I had an emergency and the office helped me make an appointment on the same day due to the emergency. Ammar was very professional and helpful. He answered all my questions. Dr. Barbu was very nice and helpful too. He was able to see me quickly and prescribe some medicine to ease the pain. Overall great service. I totally recommend this clinic.

Oh My Goodness. I am a new patient with yesterday being my first visit. The entire experience was WONDERFUL. The group were having a team meeting which as a business owner was excellent to see. I was ushered to the proper office and proceeded to get x-rays which was great. Then the deep cleaning was started and I laughed all the way through. Impressions for my partials were taken and all under 1 hour and 20 minutes. Every staff person I came in contact with were very engaging and caring. This is the place for quality, caring service!!!!

While this place is probably good for adults, I would not recommend it for kids. We had an appointment today and my son was uncomfortable from the start mostly because he is three, doesnt like doctors office’s and early that morning we had found a loose tooth. The hygienist was nice and so was the front desk staff. But what was absolutely unacceptable to me was the doctor who came into the room, did not introduce himself (I still dont know his name) looked into my sons mouth (barely) and walked out of the room. Did not say one word to me. So at this point its just me and my son in that room and i’m wondering so are we done? Is that what a doctors exam looks like? A few minutes later a different person comes into the room and hands me a card for the next appointment, so I ask, are his teeth okay? like what the hell!!!! Anyways, we wont be back! Only reason i didnt put 1 star is coz the front desk staff were really nice.

I knew had the right place when I called in for my appointment. Excellent customer service over the phone and in person. I didnt wait long. Cant remember the dentist name, but she was very nice.Got me to relax and she was very skilled, didnt feel a thing. I recommend them, from the beginning to the end.

I had a tooth extracted in May 2021 very nice staff as a whole this place is awesome the dentist pulled my tooth 0 problems no pain and they got me in right away

If I could rate this place lower I would. How not a single receptionist pick up the phone after 40+ calls calling back to back leaving messages for more than an hour not pick up for an emergency and then I also get hanged up on that is unprofessional and it left me in a sour mood

Mouth got infected after getting deep cleaning . Originally made appt because my tooth was killing me and when I went they told me I need a deep cleaning. I went back after deep cleaning to ask if the pain I was having was normal and the dentist told me it was normal but the pain got worse and I couldn’t feel my jaw. Went to the emergency room because I was so much in pain. Then I Made an emergency appointment to another dentist and they confirmed that I need a root canal or extraction. I spent 365 dollars for a procedure that caused me more pain when the tooth only needed to be extracted for 85 bucks. I won’t ever come here again.

This was my first visit with Affordable Care Dental. I accidentally went upstairs first and they were really nice. When I went downstairs they were professional and kind as well. The dental assistant was very professional. Clarissa the Hygienist was Amazing!!! She has a super attitude, great personality and funny. She did a grear job on my teeth and the best part is she was very knowledgeable. I would give them 10 stars!!

Great friendly place to go for dental work. 1st time going in for a cleaning, and I was a bit scared because I didnt want to find out if I had any cavities ^_^ I was instantly put at ease by the dental assistant, Jessica. She was very nice and made me feel comfortable. She explained everything she was going to do like the xrays and what to expect next. Appreciate the fact that my follow up appointment was made right after I was done with cleaning. No hassle at all.I am happy to call this dental clinic my new home.
