Enjoyed with my 18 month lil boy. Area does need to be clean up especially areas where the sand is. Also there were about 30 teenagers at the skate/bike park and a couple of older teenagers, but no one wearing mask!

I had to take a friend to get tested and there was no wait. Other places make you wait for hours and this location. Was a total of 2 minutes...

This is a perfectly lovely community center building located in a very nice public park. However, public buildings need accessible to the community and they need to be supported by city infrastructure paid for with tax dollars. This center always seems to be under the control of one petty dictatorship or another, a position which seems to be available to anyone who cares to take on the maintenance and janitorial duties that the city should provide. If you want to use the building for something, you have to pay for it, buy insurance, fill out forms, wait for approvals, etc. Most of the time, it serves no purpose. There are many things that could be going on here but these competitive little organizations like to keep the place under their control and give outsiders the runaround. This city is small and struggling, but we can afford a decent insurance policy that will cover community events without making the citizens fork over $500 if they want to have a little meeting or teach a class. And, we can afford to put maintaining and cleaning this building on the duties roster for public works and sanitation. That doesnt mean not to hold people liable for damage or charge them extra if they leave the place a mess. But, dont price the place out of reach of most of the residents and allow it to be occupied by self-serving charitable organizations that keep a high barrier to entry to protect their power position.Absolutely pathetic, Desert Hot Springs. Even we can do better than this.
