My wife Barb was shuttled between Lee Manor, Lutheran General and various follow up appointments for months. Lee Manor was attentive to her numerous needs and treated her with respect and dignity. She now has other issues that will soon require her to be back in a skilled nursing facility for a long term stay. Lee Manor will be my choice. Remember, NOTHING is ever good enough for those we love. But Lee Manor will do their absolute best.

I was in Lee Manor Rehab or 6 weeks after fusion surgery on my left ankle.Rocheka my care team coordinator was excellent and Giga the social services director was excellent. Janet, my OT therapist and Abby my physical therapist did a great job with my therapy. A special shout out to Roberto and Boris(first floor nurses) for going beyond their nursing duties to help me with anything I needed.

We chose Lee Manor for our 86 year mom for inpatient Rehabilitation after her second hip replacement- the nursing and therapy staff were wonderful! They treated mom and our family like WE were part of their family. Mom stayed for three weeks and came home walking independently. She was really pampered there.A year later, I unexpectedly had to have both hips replaced and didnt hesitate to arrange for my inpatient therapy to be at Lee Manor. The staff was very welcoming when I arrived for the first stay, but when I returned for the second hip replacement rehab later the same year, they made me feel like royalty! I was welcomed by some of the same nursing staff that had cared for me and my mom and I found everyone to be just as attentive as the previous stays. The Physical Therapy staff is great and the newly remodeled department is state of the art! I received one on one attention from a dedicated therapist 2-3 times/day and walked out after 11 days with minimal cane use! The nurses on the Day and PM shift were very timely with pain meds or if you had questions. This is a great place for rehabilitation, but the long term residents appear to be just as well cared for and happy in this just like home environment!Their motto should be Care better than home! Thanks to Mavis, the residents daily dose of sunshine and the great family who owns Lee Manor- dont change!

My mother was a resident of Lee Manor for eighteen months and we were completely happy with the care she was given. The staff soon became extended members of our family and we always knew she was in the care of competent, capable and compassionate hands. The nurses were never too busy to answer a question or hesitate to contact us if any concerns arose. It is never easy to watch a love one pass but the staff handled my mothers passing with grace and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend Lee Manor.Marybethe Kelly

Visiting nursing homes was something I did growing up my family always had relatives living in them. Thinking back then and now, not much has changed. Between that experience and touring other facilities prior to choosing Lee Manor, I see the biggest difference as a feeling of intimacy. And by intimacy I mean, the facility doesnt have a sterile feeling to it nor that cookie cutter coldness you get with corporate ownership. Lee Manor is privately held and I believe that is one of the reasons it is better than other facilities in its category. Price wise, they are extremely competitive and their private pay requirements are far less stringent than other homes. I would give the staff four out of five stars; they are well trained and cordial on the whole. I am an adult (only) child with two parents living in the same nursing home facility; they live on the same floor, but in separate rooms. Needless to say, this is a difficult situation at best. What has made it easier to deal with is Lee Manor.

A former employee this place is roach infested rodent infested and they try to hush the employees or make us feel better by bringing in pest control and having them spray areas where the staff sit but the roaches are crawling on the feeding machines of patients who can’t speak they give tours of the first floor and promises that your loved one will have one on one care but once you sign away their happiness your loved one is stuffed into a tiny outdated room with beds that hardly work and bathrooms with mold in the walls and if you sitting on the toilet and look up you just mite see Ben the mouse sitting on a water pipe looking down at you I gave 1 star for the staff I’m talking about the good ones who only last a month after being bullied and intimidated by the gangs they have here (the housekeeping gang) (the polish staff gang) (the infamous philipino gang) they can be as mean as the streets of Chicago... that’s probably why the new hire for H.R had an emotional breakdown at one of our morning meetings and one week later she resigned.... and it’s been 1 Month and I’m still waiting for my last Check with remaining vacation/PTO hours if you need the experience if you need tougher skin think twice before coming to this short staffed and overpriced. underpaid .roach motel

My uncle was at home in hospice. As his health declined we were desperately searching for a nursing home. Our hospice team informed us they were having trouble finding someplace to take him due to a benefit issue. Then we got the call that Lee Manor accepted him.I called Michelle in admissions to make an appointment. She made herself available the next day so they could quickly admit him. At our meeting she spoke to us like family instead of a paycheck. She walked us through the process and was extremely compassionate.Although his time there was short, everyone we had the pleasure of working with was exceptionally courteous and remarkably caring. If ever needed, I would choose Lee Manor for my own health care needs.

Initially, I was told that Lee Manor was one of the good ones. If thats the case we, as humans, are not doing right by our loved ones. My husband was a hospice resident here for about 6 months. Most of the nursing staff was very nice/helpful. Had a few problems with a couple of the CNAs. Most of the problems were due to a language problem. Social Services Dept. Manager was absolutely terrible. I asked for a meeting between the Social Worker from Hospice and the Social Worker from Lee Manor so my husbands situation could be explained so the staff taking care of him would better understand him and his actions. The Manager of Social Services actually came into the meeting to let Lee Manors social worker know that this meeting wasnt necessary or approved. Her lack of caring was disgusting.Mark, one of the owners, could also use some people skills. It would be a bigger benefit to both the residents and employees than bringing your therapy dog to work with you. They really need additional staff here. The staff has a tremendous responsibility and things fall through the cracks. The first floor is the show. If you are thinking of putting a loved one here, ask to see all floors. Trust me, youll be looking elsewhere.

When we looked at this nursing we thought because it was small family owned the they would care more about there residents. Well we were totally WRONG.My mom was totally neglected at this place. The staff, Dr. Fishman were horrible. They neglected to see that my mom was not eating, dehydrated, and incoherent. She was rushed to the ER due to there neglect of care. Dr. Fishman figured because she was a DNR that he didnt care how she was. The staff also didnt care if nurses see your parent everyday, and they are suppose to be assessing they dayly then why didnt they see that my moms health was declining daily.. It was a horrible place and if you have to place your parent in a facility then you need to have daily visits to check on them, because these people do not care. My mom has passed away with no help to this place, I miss her dearly, but as so glad she no longer has stuff in one of these horrible places. She only lasted 2 months in Lee Manor, and I do feel due to there neglect, that is part of why we lost her sooner then we should have. Good luck to anyone who has to make this decision to put there loved ones in a nursing home. God Bless!!

Greetings Mr. McNiff,I just wanted to share with you what a wonderful staff you have. My mother-in-law recently spent a few weeks with you prior to her passing. Mom was in hospice, and as I work in an ICU and see this type of thing all the time, and I was impressed by your caretakers (that is NOT easy to do). I found your staff helpful, thoughtful, caring and very, very attentive. It certainly made those last few weeks, more comfortable to me knowing she was very well attended to.Especially helpful were Dominick and Melvin who cared for her on several occasions. They were always there to listen and try to accommodate what I asked for with moms care. They were the best. Please share a special word of appreciation with them.Regards,Tudy Hodgman Magnuson

My mother has been a resident of Lee Manor since July of 2012, She has received excellent care from every one of her nurses and CNAs, and I am very impressed with Luigi, who is her evening nurse almost every day. One of my moms main problems is that she contracts frequent UTIs, and earlier this week, she spiked a slight fever and complained of some problem with urinating. Luigi took her temperature right away, and she was slightly elevated....therefore he called the doctor immediately, and got her started on anti-biotics. He is very cognizant of my mothers needs and her classic symptoms; and I commend him highly for not waiting and catching this infection before it got worse.I could go on about all the CNAs that take care of her, Fatima, Jackie, Hector, Alex, Leticia...please know that they go above and beyond to meet my moms needs; which at times can be overwhelming, but they never complain, and call her mama...I sleep easily knowing that she is being taken care of appropriately. What I love most about Lee, is that I am always greeted by so many of the staff by my first name, and I actually feel like I am part of the Lee Manor Family; from Ellen, to Jackie, to Mark S. and Zeny in the accounting dept, to all of the social workers....I am very fortunate and blessed to have met such wonderful people. I know I am forgetting some people, but please know that I appreciate each and every person that I have met during my moms stay at Lee. She still has a long road ahead, but again, I know that she is properly taken care of.Thanks!Shannon RodriguezMom--Joan OMalley in room 313
