My family has known Nancy Kane for a long time and she has always been top notch in every category! She was my PCP and handled my diabetes as well as my fathers for a long time and I trust her very much! The problem, is her staff. There have been MULTIPLE times Ive called over the years and it seems a lot of the time they dont have access to my chart, or ask me questions that they should know via my chart. Ive asked questions in the past that Ive gotten wrong answers, had to call back, had to wait till my next appointment and ask NK herself, call back and ask other people just to put me on hold and ask other people etc. Mistakes happen, we are human, but not these many mistakes. Plus the recent issue of them not sending in paperwork I need to my employer which Ive called back 3 times now in a span of a month and still not done...what is going on over there?!?!

Mediacal professionals were ok, but staff is severely lacking. Made numerous mistakes regarding properly submitting insurance resulting in improperly being billed for out of pocket. Corrected because I was proactive. But staff was unapologetic and indifferent. Decided to dump them and just use primary Care physician to help manage my diabetes. Too bad not more diabetic specialists in Des Moines metro.

Takes 6 months to get an appointment. I called to check on my husbands appointment at 4:25 and was told the office closes at 4:30 but they see patients till 5 so she couldn’t tell me. Then stated they were already shut down. Rude while we are in there. Then our bills are always way out of hand after insurance pays it’s still $300 a visit. We are unsure why and never have had our questions answered. Why is this the ONLY place for diabetics?? We need more to serve the Des Moines and surrounding areas. If you can’t get in before 6 months there are issues. We are current patients not new. And even for a new comer that is way to long to have to wait to only be treated poorly. Once we find somewhere else we are stuck... if anyone has any other options please do tell!
