While other providers had said there was nothing they could do for my arthritic hand Dr. Cook explained what was wrong and offered several modalities to help relieve my pain and restore complete function to my hand. My journey brings with an injection, further treatment will depend on the effectiveness of the injection. I am grateful that my OT recommended Dr. Cook. I am hopeful the arthritis in my hand can be helped.

Dr. Cook was amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure that my son got the proper care. He looked at his x-rays that were taking by his regular Dr. and was able to get us in right away. He was very caring, I would definitely recommend him.

I have had multiple surgeries on different body parts and on two different occasions they did not go well(not at DMOS). I have had my left and right elbow operated on by Dr. Cook and I can’t express how much I appreciate his amazing work. My elbows feel brand new and he did an exceptional job repairing them. I highly recommend going to Dr. Cook, all of his team and the staff at DMOS went above and beyond. I can not express my level of gratitude I have for Dr. Cook and everyone else that was involved in my surgeries.

Dr Cook is a AWESOME/EXCELLENT doctor & surgeon...wish I could have him for any needed surgery but he only does upper half of body. Any thing you need done from waist up go see Dr Cook!

We have seen Dr. Cook numerous times over the last year since one of our boy’s has broke three fingers! We is always very thorough in explaining things. He takes his time to answer questions that my son or I might have. He truly cares for his patients and it shows. My son’s last broken finger happened while we were on vacation. We were referred to another Ortho doc, but it was a no brainer to come home right away and be seen by Dr. Cook! We appreciate all that he has done to help our son! Highly recommend him!!

Dr. Shane cook is unquestionably the best orthopedic surgeon Ive ever seen. Ive had quite a few surgeries over the years (mostly while in the Army) and because of those experiences Id developed a considerable amount of apprehension regarding surgical intervention. Dr. Cook not only took all the time needed to ensure I fully understood my pathology, treatment options, recovery timeline, and expected outcomes, but did so in a way that made me feel genuinely comfortable with surgery for the first time in over a decade. If I ever need an orthopedic surgical evaluation again I will without reservation seek out Dr. Cook!

I am older and was treated with the utmost respect by Dr. Cook and his team in the Des Moines and Ankeny locations. Dr. Cook took great care of me after a fall leaving me with fractures of the ulna and radius. Later, I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and had trigger finger surgery as well. I have been in the health care field most of my life and Dr. Cook is the best ever. Kind and genuine. Questions always answered. A true caring person.

I cannot recommend Dr. Cook enough! He is incredibly intelligent, caring, and skilled at what he does. I had seen 3 doctors prior to being recommended to Dr. Cook. He was able to diagnose my pyogenic granuloma instantly and was efficient in removing it completely. I had spent months with this growth with little hope left. Dr. Cook and his staff were patient and kind through the ordeal. I only wish he practiced family medicine so I could have him be my primary physician!!

I suffered extreme pain in my hand about 10 weeks before going to see Dr. Cook. I finally asked for a referral when medications and topical ointments had no effect and was referred to Dr. Cook. Less than 24 hours , after my appointment, I am nearly pain free.

The DMOS facility was very busy the day I was there. However, the staff managed all appointments efficiently. Dr. Cook apologized for my short wait. He was very thorough and answered my questions without making me feel rushed or a nuisance. He was personable as was all the staff.
