Been here twice. Once for myself and once for my fiance. The ER experience was as good as it could go given the circumstances. They are understaffed here and clearly are up to their chin with emergencies. The triage nurses were great. Spoke with calm demeanor and understanding. Check in staff was nice as well. Everything was relatively easy. Both times were like that so, consistency is a really great thing to have!

Worst ER experience ever. My concerns were not taken seriously by the very rude nurses. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and they were not busy at all, yet I was brushed off.I was charged for my visit even though I was not given any care. Upon leaving I went to a different facility and was given the respect and attention I deserved.Additionally, I called the hospital the next day to complain, and they promised to snail-mail me paperwork so I can get my money back. Its been 3 months and Ive received nothing that was promised. If you are a young woman in need of medical attention, do not go here.If you want to waste money and feel disrespected, this a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I would give this ER a rating of 0 stars if I could. We had been there for several hours of not being treated or taken back to a room when we finally gave up and left, even though the wait time sign said 18 minutes, and we were not the first people to leave before being treated. There was no initial communication to anyone at check in about the extended wait time, or during the lengthy wait to be seen by the triage nurse. The employee checking people in, Linda, was scattered, rude, uninformed and clearly didnt have the training or capacity to judge when to prioritize some patients conditions over others. She was more concerned about moving chairs around the waiting room than keeping anyone updated or seeking immediate care for clearly medically distressed patients. When we arrived we noticed her strange behavior right away and other patients that were waiting told us they too had noticed her poor skills and odd behavior. A group of teenage boys brought in a very sick and distressed friend who was not treated with the care or concern that he clearly needed. The triage nurse and waiting room staff treated these teenagers so incredibly poorly and without concern that the kids ended up leaving with this boy who obviously needed to be seen immediately. The staff did not take the boys seriously or have any regard for them, it was horrifying. I would avoid this ER if at all possible.

The staff were all professional but the ER was very busy. I wasnt critical and once the preliminary tests & assessments were concluded I was low priority. The team could have used a few more individuals to help, I wasnt offered lunch until 3pm (and then it was two slices of deli turkey on bread). But no faults with the individuals themselves, they were working hard and did the best they could with too few hands.

Overall, a good experience in the way we were treated by staff. Had some serious concerns, though, too, which were later addressed by a supervisor when I called. Took my elderly mother who has Alzheimer’s for an EEG and MRI ordered by her neurologist. EEG tech, Jen, was terrific with my mom: kind, patient, caring, putting her at ease. She was able to get us in earlier for the subsequent MRI appointment, since EEG finished sooner than expected. Great customer service experience with her until later that night we discovered two EEG leads were still on my mom’s upper chest. Her neurologist told us the metal in those leads could have burned her during the MRI, had they overheated! Fortunately that did not happen and she was not harmed. I called to speak to a supervisor, and appreciate that the Laboratory Services Director, Jana, called me back and LISTENED to my deep concern. She looked into the matter and expressed concern, too, offering a possible explanation that the tech often gives patients the choice to remove the leads themselves (privacy issue). I don’t recall her giving us that choice, but the tech should make sure they are removed, regardless. Glad to know they will revisit their protocol for that procedure, per Jana. I felt that she honored my concern and will take steps so it won’t happen in the future. MRI protocol could be improved in my opinion, too, by double checking to MAKE SURE a patient who declares / believes they are not wearing metal, are in fact, not wearing metal that could harm them. A wand metal detector device could be useful as backup.

My father was treated in this hospital on Friday of last week. While I understand the trauma he suffered was out of their league, they could have at the very least helped move him to a stretcher.Instead it was made clear he was not their priority nor their concern. He was given little in the way of assistance after I arrived and they made the transport plan. When I asked questions they were answered but the information given was vague and the individual seemed irritated that I was asking.Once the paramedics arrived, they were completely hands off. The paramedic had to request additional assistance to move him as easily as possible from the gurney to the stretcher. ONE individual assisted us in our efforts to move him. Even they were surprised as there were two or three individuals on their phones at the nurses station.I have never been crazy about this hospital. Unfortunately it’s the nearest around to where he lives. Any future opportunity or need will be met with an immediate request for transport to another facility. Very disappointed.

This treatment didnt offer relief of my physical symptoms after dealing with a cold, dry-toned nurse, only added stress to my life.I would have been better off staying home and letting my wife take care of me. My wife was having a neurological flare up, and she was recommended by her primary neurologist to report to an emergency room in order to have an urgent MRI done. Since Parkland Medical Center is fairly close by, she chose to go there.Upon arriving around noon, she was taken in quickly and the staff dealing with her took the situation seriously by getting her checked in quickly, but things went downhill from there. She was told she needed to be admitted so that she could be monitored closely and that an MRI was to be performed that afternoon. Afternoon came and went and no MRI was performed, so they told her she needed to stay over night and that she would get the MRI the following morning. That morning came and went and she was told the MRI would be early in the afternoon. Early afternoon came and went and finally after several nurses and even the doctor who ordered the MRI realized how messed up this situation was, they mustve said something to someone and something was finally done and her MRI was completed late that afternoon, but she was told she still could not leave until the results were interpreted. So she needed to stay a second night, was told she would have results the next morning. Doctor said he still hadnt received them and finally received them by that afternoon.Upon looking at the results, the doctor realized that the MRI was ordered without contrast, thus the entire event being a huge waste of time and resources. The urgent MRI needed turned into an almost 3 day debacle, only to not be ordered correctly. My frustrated wife, who is a breastfeeding mother of two, decided enough was a enough and checked herself out.Come to find out that not only was this horrible event a huge waste of time that took their mother away from her kids and caused me to lose many hours of work this week, but she was woken up almost every hour of the night and asked the same questions over and over again. She was linked up to a tele-health system that was halfway across the room and asked to very loudly explain very personal symptoms she was having in front of another patient staying in the room and an open door to the hallway, clearly a huge HIPAA violation. On several occasions, she received a different meal than she ordered, being given fried food when she asked for grilled and it making her sick to her stomach. She left the hospital today, having accomplished nothing, taking up a bed for two nights and 3 days, and feeling significantly worse from her diet than when she went in.Lucky for us, she is covered under NH Medicaid, however the problem doesnt just go away. Thousands, if not tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars, were wasted on just one patient. Compounded with all these other factors of low quality service, I would not be surprised if this was happening with several other patients as well. There ought to be a complaint filed against this hospital with the state to investigate the level of incompetence this hospital has when dealing with a patient, especially something so simple as ordering an urgent MRI. Just get it done and do it correctly and dont keep my wife waiting around for days on end to deal with an absolutely incompetent medical system that is only worsening her condition. Well never be back to Parkland again.

Last year Parkland Hospital was a blessing to me. I had Covid 19 and they were wonderful. I went there a few days ago after being treated for strep throat at an Urgent Care. Despite being on antibiotics, I was getting worse. I had pneumonia last year so I know the symptoms. Last year my pneumonia was diagnosed by a cat scan They did a chest X ray last year which came back normal. I relayed this information to the ER doctor. He refused to give me a cat scan, stating there was too much radiation. I told him my symptoms were significantly worse. His reply was that I might have Covid. I told him I was tested a few days ago and was negetive. Then came the programmed narrative about the vaccine. He proceeded to hammer me with the usual talking points about the wonders of the vaccine. Long story short, I tested negative for Covid and left there with no treatment and quite sick. In tears, i made an appointment with my PCP and was given a stronger antibiotic and an inhaler to help me breathe. In a few days, I felt better. I will never go back to Parkland. This doctor was more concerned about the vaccine narrative than helping me feel better. What a waste of time and a copay.

After several house of being unseen and unstitched i walked out to see how long it would be until she was seen, as blood was quite literally pouring down her face, and the nurse replied with a snarky attitude “we’ll get to it” and walked away when i proceeded to ask if she could bandage her head back up so it’s not pouring blood. The next day comes around and my friend was discharged with extreme memory loss, asking the same questions every 5 minutes and no further instructions. She took a shower and realized they missed a whole other section of her head that was gashed and had to go back to get staples. Overall worst experience and very disappointing care quality. Extra ordinarily disappointed and quite frankly disgusted. I was at their ER for head trauma and potentially infected kidney stones. I was immediately isolated into a covid ER room. The ER room was filthy from the floor with garbage and dirt on the floor and what appeared to be a previous patients flotsam and jetsam about the room and trays. The lavatory was equally filthy, garbage also in the bathroom. I needed the toilet to urinate and upon lifting the lid there was clearly someones fecal matter on the rim, bowl and underside of the seat. They forced the meaningless covid PCR test on me and didnt share the negative results of this rapid ~30 minute test for four hours while maintaining my isolation. I was to be transferred for my head trauma to another hospital in the HCA network. Before that took place they tried to dose me on two occasions with sodium pentathol without giving a single medical reason or justification. My declining was called a refusal and I opposed that characterization vehemently to no avail. Additionally they badgered me about alleged vaccine or more precisely stated the EUA experimental treatment. Under no circumstances would I recommend this facility to anyone for any reason or purpose. For all I know they intentionally delayed my ambulance departure to the second ER and thereby continued to jeopardize my health, state of mind and well being. From my perspective this facility no longer exists in my mind. Sincerely and respectfully submitted. DJC

I was greeted at the reception desk..Or better put, I announced myself to the greeter who was more interested in the chat in which she was engaged, than my presence. I said what I was there for and was invited to have a seat. After 5 minutes a registrar announced herself to those waiting and inquired Whos next?. The 4 of us waiting had no idea whom that might be, so I decided I was. The registration went quickly and I was pointed to the office. The greeting and registration process used to be very polite and professional, but like many other things we are experiencing in these difficult times courtesy and professionalism seems to have taken a back seat.As always, the medical part of my visit went very well. I always feel that my health is in the hands of knowledgeable, highly competent medical professionals

Friendly staff, clean, efficient. While no one wants to end up in the ED, it was a good stay.

I only live about 1/2 a mile from this hospital. I will never in my living days return to it for anything!!! 3 calls into the ER to inform that I was coming in with a severe back problem. Come in they say. I painfully lay down in the car because I cannot sit down. I get there and as I am screaming in pain, the shot me up with some morphine, start the registration process I pay my $500 deductible and 2 minutes later the doctor walks in and says yea we are not going to do anything for you but give you some pain meds and you can go home and follow up with your doctor. Not an X-ray or anything to determine what the cause might be. I went home only to have to take an ambulance the next morning because I could not move and the pain was 10x as bad.Hey what do you know, required surgery as the other hospital that is 15 min away in Manchester did a great job of assessing treating and helping me get on my way to recovery. You want a hospital that cares for you and not just your $$, avoid this place.

I had a colonoscopy on june 8th. I want to say how everyone was so nice to me. I went there so nausea i could barely walk or talk due to the prep the night before. Every sip of prep i tool made me violently sick. Called up doctor he gave me the prep in pill form even thou insurance wouldnt cover the priceIt was worth it knowing how important this colonoscopy was due to having postive home test.I was so nervous but the nurses before the procedure and during and after the procedure were so caring and compassion i was so impressed.

I brought my very elderly mom to Parkland’s wound care center for treatment. The first 2 visits were not exceptional, but they were ok. During this week’s visit, I felt like the lead nurse was unkind to my mom and like she was just processing her last patient of the day roughly and with no care. No one spoke to my mom, and it was unclear whether the healing process was or was not taking place in an acceptable way. She slapped a 2x 2 bandage in the wound. It was off and I was redressing the wound 10 minutes after we left. When I reflected on the visit, I was even more concerned about how my mom was treated. I won’t return there even though it is more convenient. I’d rather travel farther and deal with a caring and knowledgeable hospital staff.
